Sam shook her head. "Of course a vineyard would have drunks." Stepping over the fallen man, she whistled for her bike, which started and rolled to the curb. "So, motel, plan, kick ass. Solid plan."

Vivian was the first to turn around and see someone come flying towards them and land close by, she was actually pretty amazed by what had happened. From what she could see a man a lot smaller than the on on the floor in front of her had been the culprit of the punch, which impressed her quite a bit. Moving past the woman who was concerned about what seemed to be an unconscious man, she followed the rest of the group.

Then is settled
"We'll talk later Denton!" Stated

Fizzy Roy caught up with Sam before she left the place.

"So about that private conversation... Drink?" Asked the man with a seductive smile.

Sam smiled. "It's five o'clock somewhere," she replied as she mounted the bike. "You buying?"

Maniacles left the office of Dionysus. The god offered them all Vineyard IDs which would allow them free access to all the island's drink, games, rides, and shop items. The crew arrived at the motel. It a was nice place. Two stories, each member of the group given their home room.

The inside was well maintained, giving off the vibe of a grandmother's house except doubled inside. Garish pink walls in some rooms, floral walls in other, a fine dark wooded floor, a bar and cafe in the lobby. Denton loved how homely the rooms they would be staying in look, it gave off an old world flair, very cozy. Some of the rooms had two beds, some had one large bed. All had televisions, writing desks at least two snuggly chairs internet Everyone broke apart, going their separate ways, some paring off. Denton mentioned going to buy the proper items to deal with The Wolf. It meant visiting a lot local costume and clothing stores.

The day started winding down soon after that, once everyone was situated.

Aria

Aria entered the motel's room and threw herself onto the bed. It was so fluffy she felt her body drowned into the bed. It's kind of uncomfortable for her since her bed at home was not this soft.

Along the way here, she managed to buy a book. Since they're working for Dionysus, Aria bought a comic book about him. It was a colorful one and looks like an easy read even for someone who's still learning written english like herself. After reading several chapters though, she realized the book only filled with positive things about Dionysus. Praises for the wine god was scattered almost on every page. It's like whoever wrote this just wanted to kiss the deity's asses instead of educating the public.

Aria ended up sleeping for the rest of the day. The comic book was a nice substitute for her sleeping mask. When the sun set, she would instantly wake up. She would need to dry the book from her drool though.

Kotsu was in his room, arranging his stuff. He had slipped a letter under Sam's door for her to visit him later. And one under Owl's door, and both of the Joe's door. He had scheduled different times to speak to all of them. But for the mean time, he took to making his room less drab. Kotsu proceeded to unpack and hang up his clothes, put up a poster of Francis York Morgan and Francis Zack Morgan from Deadly Premonition as a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde contrasts if you would.
He also put up a poster of a cat in a tree with the slogan "Hang in there," on an adjacent wall, and then on the third wall you could see when you entered his room, he hung a poster of Frank West from Dead Rising which was signed by Terrence J Rotolo himself.
"Frank, you're the man." Kotsu said, smiling at him. "Old as dirt, but still a great game series. And this poster costs me a fortune because it was a relic in pristine condition! Shame it got the plug pulled on it so early."
Kotsu began to unpack his music speaker and his music player as well. And he played a song by an old rapper on his music device at a respectable volume. He got changed into more casual clothing since he was taking it easy and not ready to gear up for a mission. He dressed himself in the fireproof underwear that Quentin had given him, black basketball shorts, and T-shirt that had a long since faded design on it's cover. Kotsu knew he'd have human guests coming for the most part, so he ordered room service to bring him sample platters of whatever they had. Though, he didn't anticipate such a wide selection would end up taking his entire table up in the room. "Whatever. I'm sure it's a good thing to have too much rather than not enough." Kotsu said shrugging. He relaxed on his bed, staring into the two bags in the corner with anticipation for Sam to be free, pacing back and forth in his room to bide the time while listening to his music.

The twins had arrived in their room and saw their container sitting there, waiting for them. It seemed that the Maniacles had managed to ship it over quite quickly. They walked over to it and opened it up. They just began to sort through the bombs, potions, and salves to make sure that everything was accounted for. Once they had sorted and counted everything, they shut their container and finally set down their bags at the foot of their beds. They took a seat and began to look at the room, tilting their heads quizzically. Were... bedrooms supposed to be like this...? It... was kind of cozy. They knew that they had the ability to go around and look at things, they actually had freedom... but they were completely unsure of what to do with that freedom. They had been told about what the special IDs they'd received did, giving them access to rides and games and the like... but they didn't know if they should go. What if they thought they were trying to run or something...?

They glanced over at the door as they heard something slide under it. 01 got up and walked over, picking up the letter and opening it. He pulled out the letter inside and read through it quickly, before looking up at 02, nervous. "That Kotsu guy wants us to go and meet him later." He said.

02 rubbed the back of his head. "Should we...? He's... asking a lot of questions, and I don't think we can answer them." He said, seeming quite nervous at the prospect.

01 crossed his arms as he held the letter loosely in his hand. "It... would be rude if we didn't, right...? We should just go, we don't want to make things awkward. We do have to work with him after all, and I don't want him to think that we don't like him." He said, letting out a defeated sigh.

The two sat down on their beds, just looking around at their new bedroom, waiting until the time came to go and visit Kotsu.

Kotsu started getting impatient, so he set up a little button in his room that said, "Press me when you arrive." It would trigger an alert on his phone. He went to Aria's room out of sheer boredom. Now dressed in combat boots, black basketball shorts and his T-shirt. Knocking on her door. "Yo, Aria! You up??"

Spoiled Bread Spoiled Bread

Aria

Aria heard knocks on her door. She was wondering if she unconsciously order a room service while she was asleep but the guest's voice clear things up. "Yo, Aria!! You up??"

Still groggy from her sleep, Aria dragged herself across the room and opened the door. Yep, it's Kotsu.

"Good afternoon, Kotsu. Need something?"

KotaKotsu KotaKotsu

"I'm bored. And we don't talk much. Even though you're actually pretty cool." Kotsu said. "Uh, and I'm waiting to host meetings with people for different things. So... Wanna hang out?"

Aria

"Sure. Give me a minute." Aria went back into her room to wash her face and choose an attire, since this wasn't part of the mission Aria opted for another black cloak made with softer material. Didn't look that different from her combat gear though.

"I'm ready. Where should we go?" She locked her room and walked through the corridor with Kotsu.

Kotsu shrugged. "Wanna go check out the rides and stuff Dionysus mentioned?" Kotsu opted. He could scout the area for taking other people there to hang out as well.

INTERLUDE - THE THREE
Somewhere in the Vineyard

A trio of figures walked the streets of Passions Vineyard. A woman in front, a man behind her, and a thing in the back. The girl couldn't have been more than sixteen or seventeen, wearing sunglasses, cutoff jean shorts, sandals, and a pink shirt with a sleeping cartoonish panda bear on the front. Her dark brown hair was curly, skin tanned a browned by the sun. She walked with a mix of elegance and calculated hip moving. She liked people watching.

When the prey came to you it made the killing ever so sweeter, although she highly doubted there would anyway to do it successfully in broad daylight. No matter. Phone numbers worked well. Men, and sometimes women, were easy enough. It usually took no more then a text or phone call to set up a meeting. Then once she managed to get them somewhere secluded...well MUNCH.

Of course they weren't here to hunt food. Hunting food here was a good way to piss off the local god. Dionysus. No, the hunt here was a personal one. Memories flashed in the girl's mind. The smell of tobacco, the bitch, and of course her lord's end. Oh how valiant a goal he had. A goal she would see through in the modern age.

The man behind her picked up pace, walking beside. He was young, perhaps a little older, but not much. Plain in the face, locks of black hair which fell over his shoulders, and a goatee. "Lady Vampira. Do you think it wise we

"Oh Vlad," Vampira groaned. "What isn't wise about this? We have our target in our sights here."

"She is well guarded," he replied.

"The bitch was well guarded before, We have our chance. It just requires patience." Vampira stopped walking as they came upon a fountain. She sat at it, crossing her legs, smiling at a group of children that walked by. She enjoyed the appearance and noises of youth. The way they moved so quickly, their loudness, their freedom, how succulent and tender they tasted when her teeth met their necks.

Vlad barred his fang teeth, but said nothing in response.

"Oh do not be such a baby," Vampira replied. "We've been watching, waiting. This is her first time away from the base. The sweet little morsel. So naive, so delicate, stupid."

"What of the Maniacles agents she is with? They'll pose an issue if make an attempt on her," Vlad said. "Heck, the three of us alone are on the Maniacles Kill List.

"Which is why patience is so important. We watch, we wait, we investigate. Maniacles doesn't just deploy their people. no reason. They are here dealing with a problem. An enemy. It will distract them, drain their energy. We will make our move then."

Yes, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes. Saliva built up in Vampira's mouth at the prospect of getting what she wanted. How long had it been now? Years and years. She'd been beaten, cast into the darkness, left for dead, her territory taken. Rage consumed the girl, her eyes turning red, vision blurring. A creature of her caliber should never have been reduced to this. Pain. Pain is what she felt. An eternal hurt. Life had been good once. So good. She'd felt respected, high, had a place of belonging. No hunters, no Maniacles, no living in fear, no having to hunt food. The world changed since then, changed a lot. Vampira would change it back. Restore what was taken.

"There is another vampire among them, mages, enhanced humans. We'll need act quick," Vlad said.

"We will not." Vampira held up a hand. "It needs to be savored for it to matter."

Vlad opened his mouth.

"Should her friends pose any issue...we will let Noz have his fun."

The thing, the third of them, Noz Orlock, stood in the distance. He stirred at the mention of a name. Noz was over seven feet tall, all long arms and legs. A large buttoned up gray trench coat covered the majority of his body, white gloves on his hand, a baseball cap sat on his head, a long checked scarf over his nose and mouth, and sunglasses over his eyes. He drew attention from anyone who wasn't blind. The general stillness of him, the inhuman and rickety slow breathing. Dogs barked at him, cats screamed like they were set on fire, babies cried, and adults either way as far around him as possible or the other way entirely.

Vampira giggled. It was nearly time. Yes. The time for great reckoning. Oh, Aria, sweet Aria. She would kiss Aria, make Aria cry, make Aria shudder, skin Aria, wear Aria like coat. Aria. Aria. Aria. Aria.

"I want to try that then. The small train." Aria pointed at a roller coaster in the distance. 3 years after she woke up, and she never got a chance to enjoy any rides. So this might be a good opportunity for her to try as much modern human's thrills as possible.

Kotsu started chuckling. "Sure. Let's go." He said, walking over to the ride with Aria.

The two vampires entered the roller coaster. The attendant made sure they wears the belt properly. Aria was pretty excited for this. Look at all of these technologies! Deployed only to entertain human in the most primal way, by giving them fear.

When the rides finally went off. The human started screaming, Aria just stoicly going with the motion. Letting out a few half-assed scream here and there. She was kinda disappointed. It's not as thrilling as she thought it would be.

Kotsu was laughing hard. Mostly at the people screaming. "Laugh at the people screaming!" Kotsu said to her over the noise. "It makes it more enjoyable!"

"Is it?" Aria was curious about it. So she pushed her safety belt away and looked at the back seat while the coaster was still moving at full speed. It's true. Those faces were hillarious! And for some reason they got even more hillarious when they saw Aria looking at them. She had a great laugh on the roller coaster.

"Now this is fun, Kotsu. Are you doing a lot of this kind of things?" Aria must spoke closely to Kotsu's ear because the wind and the coaster's sound was making it hard to converse.

Kotsu chuckled. "Nah. I used to laugh at them back when I was human too. Used to get kicked out of a lot of places for doing this too!" He pulled out a rusty nail from his pocket and he turned to the guy behind him, yelling loudly. "THIS JUST CAME OUT OF YOUR SEAT!" The man started screaming and squirming which made Kotsu laugh even harder as he pocketed the rusty nail again, hysterically laughing and in tears.

The vampires had a lot of laugh on the coaster, but when they turn ended and they got off from the coaster. The employee kicked them for 'scaring another costumers'.

Aria was still laughing even after they long got off. They arrived at various stalls holding various minigames.

"Now let's try those games." Aria gave Kotsu a smirk. This one was more of a playful challenge.
Kotsu's eyes lit up on the pinball machine in the far corner of the area. "Oh sweet baby Jesus..." Kotsu said hypnotically walking over to it, stroking the glass when he approached and started playing it immediately, racking up a score of 10 million upon his first attempt with multiballs as well as score multipliers before he eventually got bored and turned to Aria, "Hey! You try it out!" Kotsu said, moving off the machine while it was still active, forcing Aria to jump in on the action.

Aria was having a hard time figuring out how to play the pinball. She unconsiously started to shout, encouraging the ball to hit the multipliers even though she didn't do anything with the various buttons provided.

"You can do it!"

"Hit the light! Hit the light!"

"It's down already."

She didn't score much but at least she now had some knowledge about playing pinball.

"You did awesome for a first timer, Aria! Maybe we should play again at some point, any games caught your eyes?" Kotsu asked. He wanted to learn more about Aria. Now that he had let some of his nostalgia die down from seeing the Oasis in a barren land that is the chess game of life.

Dude, seriously. You have got to get a hobby. It's just pinball.

Kotsu heard the voice in his head respond as he thought about that analogy and shrugged it off mentally. "Let's go do what you want!" Kotsu said excitedly.

"What I want? Hmm. Then I want to play all!"

With that declaration. The two vampires started their rampage on the playground. Aria was able to decimate the throwing game and racking some giant plush doll as rewards.

Seeing Aria having as much fun as she was, Kotsu was having a blast. But he craved blood right now. Kotsu went to get a stiff drink and guzzled it down without a second thought in front of Aria. "You wanna head back to the hotel now? Maybe we can come back again together. I really enjoyed today." Kotsu said, pulling out his pack of cigarettes and lighting one, taking a long, deep drag. "Man, I hate these cravings for blood."

Aria put all the gifts she got into several potato sacks that she got from a food stall and lugged it on her shoulder.

"Me too, Kotsu. I really enjoyed this! Thank you for bringing me here." Aria gave Kotsu her brightest smile. Her smile made Kotsu feel more warm on the inside than the flames licking his cigarette as he dragged from the filter. "Yeah. And maybe when we're closer, we can be friends. And do this type of thing more often. You're really awesome, Aria." Kotsu said, taking the potato sacks from her. "I'll carry them for you. Let's go." Kotsu said, walking toward the direction of the hotel and eventually bringing the sacks to Aria's room and bidding her a goodnight. Preparing himself for his busy night.

After arriving at the motel, Samantha assigned her bike a new parking spot by the entrance and went inside. Setting her suitcase on the bed and depositing her drones on the end table, she showered and took a power nap before she was supposed to meet Fizzy Roy for drinks. Putting on a dress, she opted not to cover her prosthetics, since apparently Fizzy found that aspect of her interesting.

Of course Fizzy Roy arrived first, and expecting the lady he arranged a spot in the balcony with a wonderful view. The place luxurious, one of the many advantages of the income of a long time mercenary.

A couple of soft cushioned chairs and a single table, the man stood there watching the sea but turned around as soon as Sam arrived. He wore casual short jeans that reached his knees revealing his prosthetic legs and a polo shirt.

"Glad you could make it" said with a smile that revealed confidence in the fact that Sam would certainly come.

"Wouldn't miss it," Sam replied, returning the smile. "Did I keep you waiting long?"

"Time is irrelevant when is about a fine lady" replied Roy

They took their seats and the bartender took their orders

"So, it's been less than a day but what so you think about this island?"

"It's definitely unique." Sam nodded as she looked over the menu. There were too many wine options for her taste, but that was to be expected. "The bridge was jam packed, but it is a tourist spot."

"Isn't it ? Been living here for already two months . And is a wonderful place"

He took a sip of his drink, a spirit made of coconut

"But that mayor, can't say I trust him. Either he is a real god or he performed a wonderful trick on is, but after all that I've seen, he could be pretty much a deity and damn..."

"Well, he's lying, nothing really happens." Sam shrugged as she sipped her pina colada. "But if he's legit, then maybe we could find Hephaestus and convince him to make us better prosthetics.."

Fizzy laughed

"This bad guy had turned pretty good" stated as he patted his knees
"A nice madam made 'em. And in five years they hadn't failed me. How about yours?"

"Only broke the arm once, and that was because I had to airdrop a fire mage while he was lit up." She shrugged. "But an upgrade is never a bad thing. How'd you lose your legs?

Fizzy smiles

"That's classified information"

.....

What the heck, she is a nice girl and damn, that's one curvy figure

"Ever heard of the island of Gotha?"

"Top secret, huh?" Sam smirked, "How do I get clearance?" She winked and sipped her drink.

"Didn't spend much time looking around when I was deployed. Too good at my job, know how it is?" Fizzy was definitely a handsome individual. Tall, strong, that was attractive to most people, right? Then again, she'd never really stopped to consider what was attractive when she was in high school.

That's definitely the signal... Thought Roy

"Maybe we could go to my place after a few drinks, we could chat a bit more over there."

"Sounds like a plan. Your ride or mine?"

......

Fizzy Roy took Sam to his place, a small villa located outside of the city. Both chatted about trivial themes on the ride, and both had drank their good fare of drinks

Fizzy wasn't completely drunk but the presence of alcohol could be noticed. He invited Sam to the main room

"Anything to drink Sam?" He asked

Sam wasn't drunk by any means either. Perk of having a Russian roommate and money to spend, you get drunk a lot. "I'll take a beer."

"A beer it is"

They both drank and drank until...

"So the prosthetic legs, you see I was at Gotha, back then like nine or ten years ago, there was this cult, a bunch of fanatic mages trying to perform some obscure ritual"

He took a sip of his beer

"Few know as its a secret, but there was a mage training facility at Gotha island, the mages there were being sacrificed by this cult. I was deployed at that island... Thing is, I got in between the battle between the mages and the cult.... The funny thing is, that despite all that magic, I was shot in the joints of my leg by one of them, no magic involved at all"

He remembered a scene, a man that you could have called the most boring looking man ever caught him and effortlessly shoot him down at the legs, he was sure that man was going to kill him, yet unexpectedly he said something like "Consider yourself lucky, I was hired just to stop any external intervention, my contract doesn't mention to kill" His tone as boring as his face, And then the man left abandoning FIzzy to his fate

"Denton surely was mad when he learned about my little incident hahahah"

"That sucks!" Sam set her beer down and cleared her throat.

"When I was in special forces, I was supposed to cripple a bio-nuclear plant. The core was so hot I burned my hand and cut the wrong wire. I was dead center of Japan's most recent plant explosion." She sounded proud of that. "I was the only survivor for twenty miles. I was halfway out in the shell, that's why it only took my limbs. Man, that was a lot of bio-nuclear fuel cells."

"Damn hospital nearly gutted me. 'Too dangerous for you to have kids', bitch, I ain't got no legs to spread, how am I supposed to get pregnant?" Sam waved it off and chuckled. "Jokes on them, my turn to kick the wheelchair."

Roy replied
"That's a rough one, I've met many strong man and women in the battlefield lose their limbs, technology's surely help us, but not everyone has the resources, we were lucky I guess"

Then Fizzy Roy stood up.

"But we are alive, enough of sad stories, shall we get comfty at the bedroom?" The man winked at Sam

"After all we both know why I invited you here and why you accepted. Let's have some fun"

He knew Sam wanted intel about Denton, and he was willing to let something slip in exchange of bedroom action.
There was more this time though. The girl was different, special, she lived and suffered in the battlefield just like him. It's been a long time since Fizzy Roy felt interested in more than just sex with a girl

"Sounds like fun. Not my bed we're breakin'." Sam chuckled as she stood and stumbled a bit. For show, of course. Her eyes weren't the only guide for her legs, she had too much circuitry for them not to have some degree of stabilizers.

She almost regretted that this was just for information, she hadn't had someone she could swap stories with in a while.

Both got readied in the bed, a king size, adopted their respective positions.
Fizzy admired the figure of the woman, even her prosthetics, which he thought gave her a special charm.
He played with touches and kisses and then...

The man dropped his jeans, slowly took his underpants off, his eyes fixated on Sam and then.... he revealed it
He was very proud of it, technology could make wonders, it turns out his legs weren't the only thing that was artificial

"I want you to know, I'm sorry for this," Sam said before driving her knee upwards into Fizzy's crotch.

Something was wrong...
Something was clearly wrong
It usually didn't turned out that way
The thing is, he wanted to enjoy it, so he asked for it to be more sensitive
Grave mistake

Fizzy Roy could fell all his insides about to erupt, one thing was to receive the knee in the balls, another completely different was to receive a prosthetic knee in the crotch.
He fell and rolled while throwing himself out until he simply faded

"It's not that you're not attractive, I'm just not willing to put my body out that far," Sam winced as Fizzy collapsed. "Shit, he wasn't supposed to die." Quickly dressing herself, she paused. "If that's an accurate replica, you had to have been popular."

Now came the "fun" with air quotes part. Sam's thing was sabotage, not espionage. Out of respect for a fellow fallen soldier, she put his underwear back on him before sitting him in a chair and tying him to it, waiting for him to wake up. While he was out, she began flipping through any files and devices in the room for information.

As she intended to interrogate him, she'd need something to threaten him with, she whistled for her bike, going outside just long enough to pull a hover ring off and acquire a sword.

"Oh crap"

Fizzy realized he was into a bad situation as soon as he woke up. He couldn't move, first thing he wondered was if what was between his legs was still ok or no, it still pained him

"What the hell Sam, I thought something was going on, I really did!!" Exclaimed the man in despair

"Look, Fritz, it's not that I don't like you, it's that the guy you work for ordered the shooting of unarmed civilians for no reason." Sam pulled up a chair across from Fizzy. "I need information on Denton and Morgan. She got old man brain in my hair."

Fizzy was dissapointed, of course she just wanted the info

"Well though luck, I won't spil the beans so easily!" Exclaimed defensively

"I basically just re-castrated you. There are fates worse than death, you know. I've experienced a few. Limbless, paralyzed, in a mental facility full of perverted old men that prey on their patients. I can do that to you. I don't want to, but I'll do what I have to." She gestured at the points of his body she'd cut to accomplish this as she spoke. She sighed and leaned back.

"Besides, as far as you telling the boss about tonight, I can very easily cry rape. Say you drugged me. It's technically true, alcohol is a drug. You can either tell me what I want to know and we can move on from tonight with a personal grudge, or I can ruin your career. You know how the judicial system is when a woman calls a man a predator. Guilty until proven innocent."

The man sighed, there were three options, one was to spil what he knew about Denton and Morgan, the other, get his whole life ruined, heck, Sam could even kill him if she wanted, a few decades ago that was an useless method as no one wants to kill the guy with information, but nowadays they can just remove your brain and scan it in a black market for a high sum.

"All right, all right, calm down Sam!"

....

"It's Gotha, remember I mentioned that to you, I lost my legs there. Well I wasn't the only one, Denton was there as well, he worked undercover in that island... and Morgan was there as well, that woman, Denton met her in that place, they've been working together since that time.
Nothing was the same after Gotha, Denton changed.... I changed, Denton became gloomier, sadder, he often would lock himself in his room for all day and then he would have nightmares... I'm sure he did, I could hear him sometimes; at the next day he would woke sleepless and continue working for hours. I don't know exactly what he had to do or what he lived in that island, but he wasn't the same anymore. We separated after that..."

It seemed as if he had finished however after a silence he continued. He kept many things inside him, together with the drunkness he felt relieved to be able to say it all

"There was a man in that place. Ace Stardust, I get the shivers each time I remember him. He was a chronomage, you get that Sam!? A mage able to manipulate flows of time, the most dangerous mage I've ever met. He lead the cult in that island, they destroyed the mage training facility, sacrificed many people, even colaborated with demons... I swear, you think Denton is an asshole, but in the field people has to take desicions, choices that made them look like real monsters; but that man, Ace Stardust, he was truly, deep from the heart, an evil man. He is officially dead, but sometimes I get the cold feeling he could still be around"

"And that woman, Morgan... I can feel her cold glance crossing through my back, just like it did back then... I don't trust her. I bet she had some infuence on Denton's change..."

Finally the man stopped telling his tale. He felt relieved and also guilty for betraying his friend.

"Before you leave, let me ask you something Sam. You inquired, got angry and even punched him in the face because he killed the civilians. He did it because the pest wasn't something population could know about.... But, Sam, did you ask him, how he felt about it? How that event is torturing his mind? Denton is not a monster, you may have just know me and be a little upset with me, but trust me here, Denton is working for a greater good, he is suffering as much as you do."

Sam's face flashed through several emotions. Relief, she didn't have to get physical. Surprise, she hadn't expected Denton, Morgan, and Fizzy to go back that far. And then a little bit of regret. Nobody was that evil. "That's all I needed. I'm sorry it had to end this way, Fizzy. It was nice to swap war stories." She straightened the hover ring into a sword and hacked Fizzy's right hand free. "I promise you, it's nothing personal."

Bending the sword back into a hover ring she grabbed her purse and left. Putting the wheel back on, she drove back to the motel.

Fizzy stood there astounded for several minutes after Sam left the place

What a woman, he thought feeling even more attracted to her

When the Maniacles broke off into separate groups Vivian walked off on her own to browse some of the stores they had in the area, it even gave her a chance to see what this place was all about. She wandered through the many stores they had available but some how found herself in the clothing section of it all, since there wasn't much else she wanted to do she decided to stay and browse at all of the clothing they had on for sale. Clothing wasn't something she was very interested in but she'd look at it if she had nothing else better to do.

Vivian felt a tap on her shoulder.

She turned.

A man stood in front of her, a very familiar one, he was wearing cheap reading glasses and a curly gray haired wig. "Oh my stars! Little Vivvy it's been so long! I haven't seen you since you were a wee carrot. It's me your grandma!"

People were beginning to stare, some smiling, others doing their best to ignore what could only be described as either awkward or insane behavior by a grown man.

She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms, a small smile appeared as she looked at how ridiculous this was. Still watching him try and make a fool out of himself she just let out a small chuckle "Oh grandma its so good to see you again, although I don't quite remember you being so masculine looking. Must come with old age." She teased knowing full well who was under the wig.

Denton took off the wig and glasses, chuckling while he did. "What gave it away? When I was my sister used to say I'd make a pretty good looking girl. Then the puberty train hit." He looked Vivian up and down. "Not the type of store I'd expect to find a trained killer in."

"Sorry to break it to you but I don't think you'll ever be a pretty little girl again." She said with a slight sarcastic sad tone in her voice. "Is it that obvious I prefer shooting a gun over going shopping for clothes? I had nothing better to do so I was doing a bit of exploring." She said shrugging her shoulders "What about you? I assume you didn't just come here to dress up as an old lady?"

"I'm buying the stuff we'll need handle our Big Bad Wolf problem," Denton replied. "I'm not entirely sure on who will be in which role, though. I've manifestations can be tricky and dangerous things. It'll be quite the game."

He noted her body language.

"I apologize if my comment offended you. No reason someone can't shoot and look good doing it. It is actually encouraged HQ." He rifled through the clothing, pulling forth a top, showing her. "I'm not much of a fashionista for others, but I think this suits you. It's very...what do people say these days? Chic."

"Would you like some help picking some things out? An extra set of eyes could help? She asked. "You didn't offend me, I've just never been the clothes shopping type. But it wouldn't hurt for me to actually start showing an interest." She said with a smile before checking out the shirt he had picked up "It's not that bad looking actually, I could see myself wearing it just not whilst we are fighting for our lives. I'd be too worried about ruining it."

"Then wear it when you go without with your friends or if you have a hot date," he replied. "I have an old person wig, glasses. We need something...some kind old lady looking dress, red cape with a hood on it, but I supposed a red hoodie would work. An axe and a weird wood cuter like uniform. Ya know? With overalls and a kind of Peter Pan beanie. Anything that makes you think of Little Red Riding Hood basically."

Vivian paused for a second and looked away from the shirt, the word date making her remember something she wished she had forgotten. "Yeah... maybe I'll keep that in mind." She said with a smile now browsing for the things he had mentioned. She browsed for a bit before pulling out a red hoodie and finding some overalls nearby "How about these? They scream red riding hood to me."

Denton eyed them carefully. "Yes...yes I think these could work. If you were a wolf would you stalk somebody wearing this? Would your mouth drool at the prospect of eating their wrinkled relative?"

"Possibly, wear out the overalls a little and I can see a wolf stalking a prey that would become a possibly danger to them. As for the relative..." She looked around and grabs a dress clearly made for someone with older taste in mind "I think this would do, I'd even think you'd pass for an old lady in this. "

Denton grinned at her. "Perfect then. I think we are in business then, wound't you say? You'll be looking Chic and one of your team will be looking like a hag. It'll be fun! You want me to buy the top for you? I can put it on the company account."

She was going to refuse the offer but decided to go along with it "Sure, thank you. But I would love to see who you decide to dress up as the hag I'm sure they'll just love wearing a dress and a wig. But I have to ask what's this big bad wolf problem? And how do costumes play into that?"

Denton laughed as they walked towards the counter. "It does seem a little silly, doesn't it? A manifestation, one based around a certain story or tale, must be killed in a similar fashion to the way it was in the story. It's a story given life in our world. I decided Little Red Riding Hood would be the most easy copy. If we don't do this it'll just regenerate."

He started to pay for the items.

"So, I apologize if this is none of my business, but I couldn't help somewhat overhear you and Owl taking shots at me. I didn't pick up on everything. I did get the gist, though" He smirked. "You think peacock. really? I would have gone for fox or hyena myself. I'm not very colorful."

She rubbed the back of her neck and awkwardly chuckled "Oh yeah that... and there's nothing wrong with being a peacock they are quite nice looking birds?" She said trying to make it better "Look I'm a loyal solider don't get me wrong but sometimes your commander can make bad choices..." She shrugged "Sometimes a soldier needs to have a good laugh to relax a little, sorry if we offended you."

"Oh it was no problem Vivian. Gossip is a way of life. I've actually long since considered developing a martial art based around." He handed Vivian her bag. "I'd like call it...the way of the Heather or something. Since hot girls in 80s movies were usually named Heather. Need a ride back to the motel?"

"Sounds like a martial art I'd be willing to learn." She said taking the bag out of Denton's hand "Thank you again for the top and if it wouldn't be too much trouble I'd appreciate a ride back." She smiled heading back to the motel with Denton, immediately heading up to her room after thanking him for the ride.

Owl heads back to her room compiles the data she had discovered and down loads it into Samantha's spine. Owl had set it up so that Samantha got notified when ever she was given new info in the name of transparency.

It's only then that she notices a note slide under her door. It was Kotsu, he wanted to meet with her. Curious and with nothing else to do Owl heads over to his dorm and knocks on his door.

"It's owl, you called?"

Kotsu realized he had left his music on, but still heard Owl's knock, muted his music and opened the door for her. He was still in his combat boots, black basketball shorts, but he was wearing a new T-shirt than he had on with Aria to not smell like cigarette smoke. He motioned for her to come in.
"Come on in," Kotsu said, hoping she wouldn't make fun of how his room looked or what he had placed up. Or even his music taste. He figured she'd probably like it anyway. Seemed up her alley. "So, what happened with you and Dionysus? I thought he might have hurt you." Kotsu said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "You can sit next to me, or you can grab a chair. Your choice. I've also got room service but uh, I may have overdone it a bit." He said, pointing to the buffet of food waiting on the table, still warm or cold depending on whether it was a hot meal or if it was some refreshments.

Owl sits beside him and sighs. "It was my fault I couldn't resist, I tried to read his mind, turns out Gods don't like that very much."

She grins. "But...you know? It kind of worked out. Say, you have any drink on ya?"

Kotsu rings up room service and orders a couple of bottles 100 year aged wines. "Best part about a God making sure you can get whatever you want, it don't have a price I suppose. Not in this regard anyway. I figured you'd lurk in his mind." Kotsu said, tossing the satyr bellhop submarine sandwich for their troubles which made the bellhop's eyes glitter with reverie before Kotsu closed the door and handed Owl a tall glass of wine and pouring himself one. "Salut!" He said, toasting with Owl, but watching Owl consume the drink first.

Kotsu proceeded to down the drink himself after watching her drink though.
She smells nice. You should totally tell her that.
Kotsu's thoughts weren't protected when he thought that in that moment. The voice was almost like a more mature sounding version of his own.

"Ya not one of my smartes plays. But I got some damning info out of it, You see..." Owl pauses. "You know what? Probebly not safe to speak about it openly."

She switches to telepathy and says in a grave tone. "I have reason to suspect that at one point in the not too distant past, either Denton or one of his friends tried to wipe out all life with in North America. And turn them selfs into a god like being, they failed somehow I'm not sure how, but they failed. That Morgan woman was defiantly involved, I don't trust them Kotsu."

"You think I do? But..." Kotsu closed his eyes while speaking telepathically. "But I know I can't kill him. And I know there's a difference between can't and won't, but... He doesn't want to do this either. I confronted him when we came back from that mission. He was honest with me. Lied to me at first. He... He's a shell. Heh. Maybe I'm not so different..." Kotsu said, telepathically. The amount of alcohol he had in his body must have been having an affect on him. He may have been a vampire, but he was still susceptible to some degree of intoxication. Just normally enough to kill most people.

"Owl, why tell me this if you don't trust me? Or more so, why tell me this all if you don't want me to trust you?" Kotsu asked with genuine curiosity.

Owl chugs another bottle of wine and moans with pleasure. "That is goooood." She looks at him with hazy eyes and a small smirk. "And you got it all wrong, I trust you, I trust you more than anyone here. You've shown your self to be trust worthy, I know you would never do anything to hurt me. I'm just not sure if I would do the same for you, thats why I'd rather you not get too close to me. I'm obsessed Kotsu, with secrets, sometimes I think I'm mad, I shudder to think what I would be willing to do to my friends if it meant learning some great secret."

She sighs, then grabs another bottle and begins to drink.

Kotsu looks at her a sad smile creeps on his face. "Could you call someone your friend if you'd sell them out for something as insignificant as a secret?" Kotsu asked, going to grasp Owl's free hand before stopping himself.
I suppose that'd be unwise, wouldn't it?
"Yeah, yeah it would." Kotsu responded outloud to the voice in his head. "Owl," Kotsu started again telepathically. "Secrets should be kept secret. Sometimes there's joy in unraveling a secret the natural way. A secret should be a bond you share between someone. Not something forcefully taken.

Owl frowns. "It was a secret you know? The plan my dad hatched to sell me off to those raiders to gain their favor. Those raiders attacking my villiage was also a secret until they did it. I had my powers then, but what kind of monster pillages their own fathers mind? So...I respected his privacy and for that I was sold off as a bride at the ripe old age of thirteen to a man triple my age. That mans mind I read, it was no secret what he was planning to do to me, what he did to me. "
She looks away and takes another drink.

"Thats what I got for not taking secrets, well I learned my lesson that night Kotsu. I learned my lesson."

Kotsu reached out and held Owl's hand, "I wish I was there. I would have saved you. But then again, I couldn't save you all from the Queen either..." Kotsu slowly released Owl's hand. "I've only been a vampire for 50 years. I'm weak. I don't drink blood like the others do. I don't have the experience. Hell, I don't even know what I could do. But I know that I would have broken that man's neck. The monster I am, I can't say I wouldn't have targeted your father either..." Kotsu said this all telepathically. Opening more to Owl and dropping his guard slightly.

"My father did it to save my siblings." Owl says. "As much as i want to hate him, I can't. He gave one child away to save the other three, he had no choice. As for my husband, you don't have to worry I killed him at the age of fifteen, Twenty eight stab wounds, now you know one of my secrets, and here's another."

Owl looks up into Kotus's eyes with longing. She leans onto him, pressing her chest against his, her eyes glazing over succumbing to the combined power of drink, and the call of nature.

"I, want, you."

Kotsu blushes really red to the point where you'd swear he was human and not cursed with vampirism. "U-uh... I've never uh..." Kotsu stuttered, struggling to look for the right words. "I mean I haven't even k-kissed anyone..." Kotsu said, getting very nervous and shy.

"Mean neither, at least not willingly . But you said some secrets could be beautiful when hidden and unraveled in a natural way. So..." She pushes him flat onto the bed.

"Lets make a secret Kotsu just the two of us, a joyous, natural secret that we can unravel together, slowly." She kiss's him her lips tasting of sweet wine and then suddenly sense temporarily returns and she sits up with a start.

"I mean, if you don't want to I won't force it."

Kotsu started up, blushing harder, "Wait! No! I never said I didn't want to! I want to! I'll make a... Secret with you... You smell good... Wanted to say that a while ago..." Kotsu said, getting entranced by Owl, before he knew what he was doing, he leaned upward, going to kiss her deeply, the first time he'd ever kiss anyone. Tonight would definitely be one of his most treasured secrets.

Aria spent her time browsing through all the items she got from playing those games with Kotsu. She especially like the giant bear plush that she got. What was this called again? Teddy bear, right? Then come another knocking from her room's door. She wondered who is it now? She opened the door to find Morgan standing on the other side.

Morgan held up a finger to her lips, over her shoulder, then left and right. The woman was dressed in a black t-shirt, purposely ripped jeans, boots, and only some makeup. She spoke in a whisper. "Yo, did I wake you up? My bad if I did. I didn't, uh. really know where else to go."

"You can't sleep? Me too. I don't sleep at night." Aria didn't know why, but she just mimicked Morgan and spoke in a hushed tone too. "Is there anything I can help with?"

"Oh you don't? That's pretty beat. Pretty like cool." Morgan bit her bottom her lip, avoiding eye contact with Aria. She seemed uncomfortable, like interacting politely was not something that came natural to her. "Maybe, I should go. I don't know why I'm here. This is dumb. Sorry, I'm just fucking bored. I wanted to go out. Denton's asleep. And Sam and Owl aren't the biggest fans of me...cause of what happened in Moonlight," Morgan sighed. "I can go? This is really awkward."

"W-wait." Aria extended her hand and grabbed Morgan's. "I would love some company. It's just, you know... I honestly don't know what to do."

Morgan glanced down at Aria's hand which was holding hers. The girl had a hell of a grip. Ah, it probably came with the territory of being a supernatural monster. "Oh okay. Sure. Yeah. To be honest. Given the fact we are working for a literal god of wine...we should probably partake in what he has to offer. And its been way long since I got drunk." Morgan gave her best smile. "So you never like hung out with another girl? Partied?"

"I drank ale with my co-workers long ago." Aria gave Morgan a thumb up. She's not unfamiliar with alcohol, but she was practically enslaved for decades and after she woke up three years ago the only alcohol she drank were canned beers. Her version of drinking and partying consisted of everyone drinking some suspiciously made liquor from the same mug around a campfire. She was pretty excited when she heard that the job was coming from the God of Wine, thinking that she might be able to drink from the same mug with everyone else. Well, that's not happening.

"Sweet," Morgan said, nodding. "And I hear I thought you were like some virginal saint or something. You give off that impression. You're pretty easy to talk to, though. Lets hit it."

Let's hit it what? Aria didn't know what Morgan means by it but she followed Morgan anyway. She had long used to the fact that there would usually be a gap when she communicate with younger people. That's why she's here, she wanted to know more about modern lifestyle, and about Morgan.

The two women walked out of the motel, into the parking lot. Morgan approached a dinky looking car. A Malibu. Probably from somewhere in the 2090s. "Pretty bitching right? It's a rental...I put it on as a business expense. For the time we're here I'm calling it the Morganmobile." She unlocked the doors and the two entered the car.

When they finally arrived at their destination, Aria whistled to express her joy. "So this is like, super big bar. Right? I worked at a bar as waitress for some time." Aria pictured a soothing family cafe where people spent time talking with each other while eating together. Blaring music, sweaty people dancing, blinking light everywhere. She didn't expect any of that. She was a bit overwhelmed the sheer amount of stimulus provided, but after standing still on the entrance for a minute she braced herself to enter the place.

Morgan got them their first round of drinks after showing the waiter him the ID Dionysus had given her. She drank wine. The finest, sweetest, and most powerful she had ever had, like an orgy of the taste buds. "So how old are you anyway?"

"Hmm... Age, huh? Don't know. I was 21 when I came into America as an indentured servant. Getting fooled by the promise of the New World. I never know about my birth date too. The only thing I know is I was born in summer. My family was never an educated bunch." Aria drank her wine and was surprised at this taste.

"W-what is this?? I never try something like this!" The vampire finished her drink in a single gulp and asked for another one using a big mug, then another one. Compared to the bitter beer or the wood-smelling rums she used to drink, this wine taste wonderful!

Morgan laughed. "Better then blood, right? Well, I mean it's better then blood to me at least. I imagine blood probably tastes pretty alright to vampires. Oh, no offense by the way." She took a swig of her. Stared at the dancing people.

"Morgan, You and Denton are married, right?" Marriage was one of the thing Aria had curiousity about, since she never and very likely would never experience it. Her eyes gleamed like a schoolgirl talking about boys. "Tell me, tell me. How can you two end up working and living together?"

"No, no...we aren't married. We might as well be. Is it that obvious we're together? I try to keep it professional as possible when we are in the field."

"I am good friend with the HQ's cafetaria lady. She has tons of interesting stories to tell. She's good person, but her mouth smell like fish. Ehe." Aria drank her fifth mug of wine then ask for another refill. She let out a series of hiccup, but it didn't stop her from chugging the wine like water.

"I'm still curious. If you two are not married then what are your relationship called? Is it, uh, the boyfriend girlfriend thingie?"

"That's probably the best way to put. Boyfriend, girlfriend. It sounds kind of like high schoolish, though. We're both thirty." She shrugged. "It was supposed to be a friends with benefits thing."

"I don't really understand that kind of relationship but it sounds sweet." Aria said after finishing her eighth mug.

Morgan blinked at the rate Aria was drinking. "I'm not sure how vampire bodily function works, but you may want to slow down. "

"Me too, Morgan. I don't know how vampire's body work, but I think I can drink some more." She was in a very good mood tonight, and it might be the reason why she got careless. Picking up her eleventh mug, Aria noticed that her hand was shaking and her stomach rumbling. Her face turned pale and she could felt liquid crawling back through her throat.

"Wait, wait...you're a vampire and don't know how your body functions?" Morgan asked. "Don't they like teach stuff wherever you live? I thought you had a residence on one of Maniacles bases?"

Aria didn't heard Morgan's question as she unload the liquids that she just drank onto the floor. The waiter immediately appeared with mop and bucket ready, as if things like this was a normal occurence around here.

"M-morgan. Thank you for bringing me to this place. This is my first time I can drink good drink until I can't stomach it anymore. I am happy." Still pale, Aria forced herself to speak to Morgan. She was tearing up a bit. Whether it because she just vomitted or because this was an important event for her, she wasn't sure. One things for sure though, she wouldn't start the next day with clear mind.

Denton had the wonderful honor of waking everyone up the next morning. It wasn't easy. Seriously. Oh he'd had his ghosts out and patrolling the area, doing his best to see what the team was up to, or if he could locate any of their enemies.

The information the spirits brought back were fairly DIRTY to say the least. It certainly explained a lot. Kotsu had been walking around with a grin the size of the Grand Canyon, Fizzy Roy kept scratching at his crotch area, Morgan looked as if she'd been stuck in a washing machine and beaten dry.

The standard hangover appearance of blood shot eyes, constant groaning, and making barely audible sentences. In all in all Denton didn't feel very good about the team or their chances. They were all probably going to die. He thought about hanging back here, staying on the radio again. Nah, something told him Sam or possibly Owl would drag him along.

They made their way out to the most densely forested area in Vineyard. Before them lay trees the size of great giants with thick leaves at their top, very few paths, and what paths there were led into a surprisingly dark wood for morning.

"Okay," Denton said, standing in front of the group. He smiled at Owl and Kotsu for a moment, but did his best to make it feel like forever. "The manifestation should be somewhere in these woods. If not we'll have to bring it to us. Only one we are gonna pull that off. We have to have our roles play. We will need a grandma, a red riding hood, and a woodcutter." He held up a bag. "I have the costumes here. I also have a basket of candies and medicine. I also have a finely sharpened axe.."

"What about the cottage or whatever?" Morgan croaked. "I mean Little Red was going to her grandmother's house."

"It's been taken care of. Dionysus provided me with a map of the area. He marked a cabin we could use. It hasn't been occupied in sometime, but it should provide us with what need. A bed and such."

Denton placed his hands behind his back. "We'll be making use of ear pieces again. Anyone not playing a role will be providing watch support at a distance and of course extra firepower whenever we get this thing in our sights."

"Just how big is this wolf? Are we dealing with Fenrir or Fido?", Sam asked. Size had a lot to do with how an animal was dealt with, not that she ever hunted, but she reasoned that a bear could bite you in half faster than a squirrel.

Kotsu had been in a very good mood this morning. Actually chipper and was more than willing to cooperate with Denton as this had nothing to do with killing any kids or Innocents. In fact, he felt like he was finally doing something worthwhile in the Maniacles again by saving people. "I'm okay with whatever anyone's comfortable with. The Joe's mentioned wanting to dress up like Grandma. I don't care if I dress up like anybody or if I'm in the background. Let's do this thing." Kotsu said, radiating positivity.

Vivian placed her earpiece in her ear as Denton gave details about there mission, she checked her gun that was still attached to her hip seeing if it was all in order. She turned to the group and smiled at the others "So who would like to be who? I'm happy with supplying background support. Or being the bait to lure in this wolf." She said with a little shrug, she was already prepared to be background support.

Owl woke up to her great misfortune...sober. She looks over at the man laying beside her a little confused as to why Kotsu was in her bed, then she realises that is wasn't her bed. Hold on...this wasn't her room. She sits up and feels a chill sweep across her chest.

Topless, why was she topless? She lifts up the covers, she was bottomless too and just a tad sore in all the right places. She flops back down beside Kotsu as her addled brain more hung over than a sock on a line puts the pieces together.

She fucked him?

Suddenly the flood gates of her memory break open and the hazy dizzying craziness of the night before blast apart her mind.

"OH MY GOD!" She sits up again shocked and amazed at her self. That wasn't her intention, not at all! This was unlike her, the Owl of last week would never...

Fuck a vampire on a whim, or anyone for that manner! What was happening to her? was it the drink? Yess now thats she pondered on it she hated drink, never touched the stuff. Why did she chug four bottles? HOW did she chug four bottles?

She flops back down on the bed and looks over at Kotsu the first and only man she had willingly given her self to. Did she regret it?

No?

Did that mean she was admitting to her self that she had feelings for him?

Yes?

"ARRRGHH!" she pulls at her hair and slams her palm into her forehead, they hadn't even used protection, oh god could vampires and mages have babies?

Should she buy a crib?

"I'm done..." She says standing up and getting dressed.

Owl was opposite to Kotsu, she was tired and hung over and a bit lost in her own world. She wasn't not at all paying attention to this who ha about a wolf. Kotsu stands off beaming brightly his demeanor contrasting the rain cloud over Owl,

She wanted a drink.

"No, no you dumb bitch drinks is what got you into this mess in the first place." In that moment Owls swears never to drink again!

Some where out their, the God of wine chuckles.

Kotsu had shaken his head to take an earpiece from Denton and turned it on. He was still abuzz from last night remembering the secret he now shared with Owl. Thinking about her caused his brain to feel weird and made him feel fuzzy too. He cast a casual glance at Owl and noticed she was a bit down.
Think she regrets it? Should you have waited until she was sober? It probably would have been more fair.
Kotsu felt sick in that moment, but decided to crack a smile anyway. Smiling was all he could do before tonight. When he would try to ask Owl about if what they did was okay. But for now, he had to keep her and everyone safe in any way he could.
