Fantasy An Adventurers' Adventure

Though I'm not sure about the soldiers thing, Since my character is already an ex-soldier lol

Loners can still use caravans for protection or ease of travel or something. And starting in a guild doesn't mean you start out in conflict. There could be some relationship building and touring and maybe some training if you guys preferred. Or the guild can start you off with a mission to see if you're worthy if you guys prefer fighting over other aspects?

Yeah, I meant more of not being sure if loner characters would want to be part of a guild at all, with the caravan thing, the character's personality wouldn't really matter.

And I thought you meant you were going to throw us into a mission at the start in the guild scenario, which I mean I wouldn't mind.

Ultimately, it's up to you, I'm okay with any of the starts honestly (((:

Well, as a caravan, the first thing that happens is most likely a fight, because otherwise you guys can have a boring day for a bunch of paragraphs xD

A guild has politics and other things that can be done.

yeah that's why I suggested the bandit attack thing with the caravan scenario, I just thought it would make sense because we're adventurers/ travelers, but that's fine if we're not doing that one.

And yeah you're right, The guild scenario would have more opportunities I think. I'm down for either and all.

But I'd probably have trouble with the soldiers start because my character is already an ex-soldier, but I could still adapt if we end up doing that one.

I'm still down for the tavern one as well, How would that play out?

Well, you don't have to be adventurers or travelers. If we started out in a city, you could be a citizen. Maybe you have a job in town? You can be anything you want to be!

The tavern I imagine starting out with just the three of you and some other lads hanging out at the tavern for whatever reasons. A scream comes from the basement as the tavern owner appears. He notices there's a few peeps up here with weapons, he asks for some peeps to deal with a rat problem. Would be great tropey fun! <3

Sounds cute lol ((;

I'd look forward to any of the starts (:

Cool, I'll wait to hear if anyone else has any preferences. My personal preference would be a tavern, but I'd also have fun with a guild. But, this is the story of your characters, so I'd also accept any new ideas I haven't listed.

OK, so, unless @Lojikal is terribly against a tavern thing, I'll start working on a story. I'll maybe post a description tomorrow. Then I'll describe more things when we're all ready to go.

Cool. So, here's how I was thinking of doing this thing. So, pretty much, I'll control the entirety of the surroundings and npcs, you won't have to worry about describing your surroundings at all. You won't have to worry about making up any details whatsoever. You can, however, ask me in OOC if your character sees anything of value, or of use, or even if they see a specific item, like some arrows, or keys or something. I'll let you know whether they do or not, and your character can react with that new information.

So, there will be a strict posting order. I'll go first, describing things, then you'll each take a turn posting. I'll let you know if you can continue posting after that, or I'll introduce a new event, or describe other things, if your character moved to a new place, or they interacted with their surroundings. If you need examples, I can give them. So pretty much, it'll be me, then you three, then me again, so on and so forth. It's this way so I have a chance to throw events at you if they need to happen, or even to interrupt conversations if need be.

As your characters get stronger, I'll allow you to take an additional spell or skill or something, or you can upgrade something you have already to be a little stronger. I'll also determine the outcome of all the attacks, and sometimes you can't help but be hit, so I will be god modding fairly often, especially during fights. But it'll be minor things, like making your toon dodge, or take a hit. Most of the time you'll be able to determine those things yourself, but don't forget that your toon is mortal. If you start turning into a secret ninja of awesome, then I'll smite down your toon xD

You can also ask me, or I'll let you know, if you know a certain character when you meet new people. If you want to meet with someone you know, discuss that with me first, and we'll work it out. The same goes with locations and various objects and such.

TL;DR I describe things, you react. ;)

Any questions or such about that? I hope I wasn't too confusing?

This is a very different rp than I'm used to lol, but that's good! I'm really into it and doing something new!

Could you put this on a new tab so that we could look at it later if we need to? (probably just me)

I guess I should also mention, I will probably overwrite actions you do occasionally, like, for example, you reach to take something, then walk out the door. I may interrupt that action with something, then you could either edit your previous post, or just ignore it lol. I wouldn't want to edit every post that someone else changed, so just go with my action.

Also, the reason for this is because if you think about it in real life, you don't always do things how you think you're going to do them. Maybe you want to casually toss a friend a spoon or something. Instead it slips and smashes into a nearby china display. xD That's kinda the approach to this thing.

I figured lol, I'm hyped

I've been watching a lot of D&D videos lately, and the stories are so good! Watching as the heroes attempt a seemingly easy task, only to have everything turn awry, so good! That's the atmosphere I'm looking for.

Ugh, the pax D&D games are sooo good! I love Acquisitions Inc.! So funny, yet so many good adventures!

I watched a game where Vin Diesel was playing D&D! It was a short game, but still good, and I never knew Diesel was such a nerd!

I've seen some eps of the yogscast's high rollers (though I'm not currently caught up). I've watched critical role

since the beginning and it is so good omg.

Ahh! Now I'm going to stay up all night to get through Yogs so I can watch Critroll xD

I haven't been able to play a game of D&D yet. I tried once with some online friends, but that never happened. I tried again on here, that didn't happen. I tried to offer to DM with my online friends, still nothing. Now I'm trying again on here with someone who needed some players. I have like, a super D&D boner, and no one will satisfy me xD people just keep dropping out, and it's so sad!

That's how this thread started. I wanted something kinda like it to hold me over.
