Fantasy An Adventurers' Adventure

Alrighty guys, hello everyone! <3 You can use this tab to ask questions about the character sheet, and I'll help out. You can also ask about the setting and such, or ideas for your character. I'll make suggestions too as sheets are filled out.

The point of such a detailed and specific character sheet is so I can get an idea of your character, and put them on adventures that they can have a chance to shine in, or a chance to completely fail in xD

Alrighty, at least two people know about this thread now, that's cool! So, I was thinking of the classic start in a tavern and kill some rats quest to start things off, but of course, it won't be that easy, mwahahaha! Or we could start in a town or such with something fun going on, maybe a raider attack or something to bring the group together.

If no one has any opinions or suggestions, everyone will be starting in a tavern <3

Whooo! So hyped! A tavern sounds like an awesome idea!

So for characters, what kind of races can we choose from? Is there a specific pool or is there leeway for this?

Total leeway. Just be careful of choosing an ogre or something. This is a world where danger is very, very real. And security isn't always tight enough to ensure people's safety, so many things make many people suspicions and uneasy. Depending on the race and town, you might even be outright attacked. So if you want to play an undead skeleton mage, cool, but you'll be all but guaranteed to be attacked mercilessly just about anywhere you go. So a safe choice might be better.

Though it's possible to be something weird, with an illusion in place to change your appearance. Though powerful magics aren't that common, they aren't super rare either. More than likely you'll be exposed eventually. So it really depends on how bad you want to play something haha, or how well you think you can hide your identity.

Society is generally made up of humans, dwarves, elves, variants on them, including half. Maybe orcs and goblins, possibly trolls and orges, though they may make some people uncomfortable. Things like ghosts, wisps, wights, demons and such many people won't interact with, or the guards might just attack you, even if they are good guys.

So I would suggest nothing too crazy, since you'll bring that trouble to the rest of the party. Unless they are cool with that, then that's alright. So if you want to be some kind of inter-dimensional demon, probably wanna ask the others if that's cool first xD

@Miss Ditzy

So this takes place in a medieval fantasy setting then? Is the world as big as earth? Does it have as many nations?

It's probably about as big as Earth. Maybe a little smaller. The civilizations are nowhere near as populace as Earth, nations are not near each other. There may be anywhere from a couple to a dozen large nations with actual armies. Maybe several dozen large towns with some villages and and encampments about. Usually a few days journey between notable places at least.

Large nations will probably have diplomacy with each other, some friendly, some not so much. Anything smaller than these nations can't really stand up, though some nations may allow these people to have a say in the governing decisions. Though there definitely aren't as many different notable places as there are countries on Earth.

It's a high magic world, where magic is capable of pretty much anything, depending on the power of the wizard/s, and what you're willing to sacrifice. Even the dead can be brought back to life, as if never dead. There are different planes of existence with portals that can be accessed. Gods and demon lords exist and do have an effect on life, though they don't generally intervene in everyday things. Some of these beings might take an interest in select individuals, it's really all up to them. They are able to be communicated with, even met and fought, and even killed, though unlikely.

Wizards aren't all powerful though. Generally, a skilled warrior will beat a wizard if it can get up close, but nothing is set in stone. So generally, physical fights will be able to handle tight situations and close calls better, but given some protection and free reign, wizards will decide the outcome of massive battles between nations, and are very high value targets.

Nice work so far, and lol at that pic! @Devious Dilbert Don't forget, these are level 1 toons, even though we won't be keeping track of levels so much. Those daggers look pretty crazy, with chainsaws? And fire xD Just try not to have any crazy magical weapons and such. Though weapons can have minor magical enchantments, I'll say they have to take up a spells/skills slot. Though that's just if you're starting with a magical item. Though future magical gear found won't take up any slots or anything like that.

oooh yeah right. Okay, I'll tone the weapons down. I forgot. The fire effect on the weapons was going to be explained in her pyromancy thing. I'll take care of it later, don't worry.

Not a probelm! But don't worry, everyone's toons will get stronger. I mean, how else will you deal with all the dangers? Mwahahahaha! > :) The daggers could always look crazy and badass, but just be normal ol' daggers xD

Can I get a list of some of the gods that most would consider good? I am thinking of making my character a Paladin class, and in most cases, paladins are considered champions of a certain god.

You can make up your own god if you want. It's not really a set world just yet. I plan on shaping the world to fit fun adventures, rather than building a world where the characters have to fit the world.

Anyways, gods are immensely powerful. Omnipotent, and all powerful. They generally have powers based around what they are the god of. Such as the god of luck being able to redirect an attack for a devout follower. Things gods can do for their followers will go in their spells/skills area, and take up a slot. They'll get more stuff later though, so don't worry too much about being limited.

So, let's say you're a follower of Necro, the god of the dead, for example, totally made up by the way. You can take a minor necromancy styled ability in the spells/skills slot. It'll be something performed when you pray to your god, or possibly your god is automatically going to intervene. And there will also be times your god chooses not to answer, especially if you've gone against their will.

If you want, you can just come up with a general theme, and I'll make a god for you.

I want my paladin to be like most of the ones I play in games. Tank/Healer so they are basically the support of the team. So my god will probably be one that is made generally to heal and protect others. If you would like you can make one for me like that?

KYNE

God of Protection

A massive being made seemingly entirely of a faint blue light. At least if you're ever lucky, or unlucky enough to see him. His followers consist of clerics, acolytes and paladin. He believes firmly in protecting others. Attacking only to defend, and otherwise spending your time healing the wounded.

Unprovoked attacked will incur his wraith though, for he is not a kind god to his enemies. Pity and mercy are not values he is known for. Though rare, it is often believed that any beams of light coming from the sky are his foes learning what war and violence brings you.

His symbol is a circle with a single point leaf on it, representing the leaf of a plant known for it's healing properties.

(I had only a few minutes to make this, but you can use it as a template, or play with it as you will. I have to work soon, so it's kind of rushed, sorry :( @Lojikal )

Not a problem. I wanted his to not be so cliche. So I made him kind of an angry god, who punishes those who attack unprovoked. I figured that'll be a nice plot hook at some point if I can ever get your paladin so upset he/she just attacks someone. But we'll see. :D

@Devious Dilbert I see you've done a little work to your character sheet, nice! So, the armor in the pic is the armor he's wearing? Seems like a stylized leather setup with a steel shoulder plate? If there's anything else, you should go ahead and list that in your equipment list.

This is for everyone, but equipment isn't just swords and armor. You can also include things like pots and pans, or a bedroll, maybe some rope, flint and steel, a compass, or anything else you think an adventurer might need. Now, I won't make anyone keep track of food, originally I thought I would, but I dunno if you guys wanna update your sheets every in game day xD I also won't be super strict if you don't have something listed in your equipment. But do be true to your character if you believe they may be carrying an item you could use. And if you don't have a pack of any sorts, don't expect to get away with too many random items xD

yeah I did a little work lol, I'm probably gonna take a lot of time with this just to perfect everything. I like the way it's all set up btw

rn I'm just getting the outline of my sheet setup, I'll go into a little more detail later, thanks for the reminder ((;

just letting everyone know that I'm working on my character. It should be up sometime tomorrow morning ^^

No probs @Miss Ditzy

@Devious Dilbert You have light armor under weaknesses, but it's not really a weakness, since it allows for more movement. Though it doesn't really matter, since you listed 3, which is more than the 2 required. :P You don't have to move it, just thought I'd mention it. Though people's armor classes will be used against them at times <3

@Lojikal Nice so far! I'd like to point out you have a typo in your thing. I'm not being picky, I'd just like to point out that it's in the wording I gave you xD the word paladin should be plural. Normally I wouldn't care over something so small, just thought it'd be fun to point out my mistake xD

Also, nice choice for word styling on your skills. They don't have to be that clear and detailed, but it helps me, less discussion on limitations.

Now, the one where you make a light armor made of light. I have some questions. Firstly, does it have weight? Because if it does, it might just be detrimental if you just hand out extra armor to people, like putting on 20 shirts xD Also, if it's not a weighted physical style of armor, does it protect from a certain type of magic? Or something like that?

Another note, I'll let you keep the magic light, if it takes something as fuel, otherwise it'll have to start out in one of your spell/skill slots. But this is only for starting magic items. But since it's a simple light, I'll let it pass with some fuel to it, because then it's not much different from a torch.

Fixed the typo, and I removed the light armor spell, as I realized that that just sounded silly to me in general. Instead I added the orb of light as one of my skills, since now it floats, allowing me to use both of my hands in combat if we are in a dark cave instead of having to carry around a lamp or torch. I am pretty sure I will get more spells and skills that will actually help me fight and protect people along the line, so I don't mind using a slot for a light source.

Correct. Everyone will get new spells and skills and such. Basically, at certain points when I deem you have leveled up or so, I'll hand out spell/skill slots and such. I may even ask for more weaknesses/strengths/otherstuff at points, though those won't be often. It'll also be set up to instead of getting a new skill/spell or such, you can just make a single one stronger.

Also, future magical items won't take slots, you just carry them like normal items. I'm just asking for this at the beginning to kind of balance the power between toons.

It's kind of a strength aaaand a weakness, it allows him better movement, but he greatly sacrifices defense

Also, I added A LOT of stuff, Not everything is set in place yet, so please tell me what I should change and all that (:

I know that some of the stuff I just repeated, like in the strength/abilities and the skills/spells sections, I didn't really know which went under which so certain ones, I just put on both.

I tried to be very detailed in his cs
