Futuristic Agent of Maniacles OOC and Characters

"We heard about you. How you show off that little engine of yours all over the place. It'd be a shame if anything to this precious railroad of yours. But I think it will be okay. I've thought of a way you can maybe...pay up, hehehe."

Just remember, you gotta bring back Dumah ALIVE

Oh shit. Well, let's just call it anger in the heat of the battle. Fizzy/Kotsu'd be stopped by the twins if he went to uh, "finish the job". I feel like Fizzy would be pissy and wanna finish the job anyway. Lol he'd follow orders and wouldn't, but would want to.

We weren't allowed laser weapons, and Carmille was a level three who wasn't allowed guns in general as she was too broken already, but that wasn't a general rule

Alright, sweet. Maybe that's what I'll spend Kotsu's ability point in. Gun handling.

I believe so? I know we couldn't use power armor which will be revamped, pun intended, in Arc 4. Or the next arc, or whatever.

Right!

I forgot!

Sorry. I haven't looked at the game sheet in forever. Yeah, I remember when going over it that stuff was a source of contention. I wanted vampires, and other creatures, to be able to use magic and have weapons, laser or otherwise, also be open to any of the classes.

Of course it makes sense for certain things to be locked depending on class. Don't want things being broken. But I don't know. It came down to how we differently viewed magic when Adept was making the game.

How magic works is still not very well thought out in the game. Since we did it so fast.

But Adept really felt strongly only humans should be able to use magic. Mages. Mage is mage. Vampire is vampire. Which is fair. So we had to really spend awhile trying to come up with a reason why vampires and other supernatural beings couldn't use it. Something plausible.

TheAdept TheAdept I forget what you came up with there, but it was a whole pretty intricate thing.

In my head, what I wanted, and personal preference. I wanted magic to be more like a free network. A thing anyone was capable of accessing to varying degrees with the proper training. The game was made so fast it was hard to really think on it. But I wanted it to be open source for human, cyborgs, vampires, whatever, but have really clear and defined limitations. Get more in detailed what a magical specialty is. And I feel the same about things like lasers and power armor too in all honestly. It should have been more open source in some form.

I get it.

RPG

You give the players to much power and it may brake the game, but I don't know. It just seems illogical to me. I guess. I guess I would have done it...so there was a lot more crossover between classes.

Lore wise I always had it that humans can use magic due to their minds and bodies being empty of other supernatural energies. Basically they are conduits for magic.

Vampires on the other hand and other supernatural beings already have their bodies and souls stuffed with supernatural energy, in a vampires case their curse. Which inhibits the free flow of magic as something (the curse.) is already their using up all the space so to speak.

I think I already posted this explanation. In fact I talked about adding another extra lore thread and mentioning this there. But I am trying to be more productive with my life and such and haven't gotten around to it.

Ya know what? As I type this I just remembered I PMed this to spoiledbread but didn't bother to post it here. Hang on.

So first off is the Gods, now referred to as the Dead Gods by various cults who seek to do their biding. Long long ago, eons before the Earth or even our galaxy there were gods, kind of like the Lovecraftian Elder Gods. They fought each other for supreme authority over everything, the universe, the multiverse, and everything in it. At this time many universes were dead, as in almost empty, no energies, various elements weren't there, so no suns, supernovas, etc. So when the gods fought this war, one succeeded, "killing" the other gods, but not entirely in the sense we humans understand it. They were "dead" from godhood and forced to traverse the different universes as lesser beings; Dead Gods. There is one in the universe we have who will show up later, but anyway...

So this brings us to the lore reason for vampires, magic, and why vampires cannot use it. Remember how I said various energies and elements around today weren't there in the time of these gods? They are here as the aftermath of their war, countless trillions of years ago. The god who won didn't absorb all their power, much of it drifted away to become...suns and galaxies and other shit. Magic resulted from this. When a mage performs magic, they are pulling from the magical energies all around; kind of like they are taking bits of godpower leftover from the old war. Very few humans, mortal and so called "immortal" (After all, what is truly immortal when compared to these gods?) know that this even happened. Even fewer know even this much, but the ones who do know this much are typically cultists.

Ok so that leads me on to why vampires can't use it. Well vampires are the result of it. There are magical energies all around us but some who are exposed to it are cursed by it instead to become vampires, but these vampires aren't common. Most vampires around were either turned by another or turned by a magical ritual. I guess this whole thing also explains why mages can turn someone into a vampire through ritual. So basically vampires are already the result of magic so can't properly harness it.

By the way, I am officially lifting limitations on the use of power armor and guns. Shit should still make sense though. So a vampire who sucked with weapons before shouldn't be able to no-scope a hundred enemies right after I post this. I made these limitations to prevent OP and if I see any there will be punishment in the form of bad things happening to your character.

Well, as it stands, Kotsu has the power of Fizzy and play writing on his side. LOL But yeah, nah. That's why Kotsu ended up capping out a whole clip when saving Carmille from the pest. I figured it'd be fair since he doesn't have much experience with firearms.

Similarly, someone who couldn't use magic before shouldn't be able to wield ultimate power?
