They Never work, that's why I keep all these pages tabbed

odd, they should refresh by themselves.... mine do at least.

What often (but not always) works for me is to click on the last page number of the thread before leaving the tab. If the page refreshes itself with new messages while I have it open and I don't reload the last page before I leave or close the tab, more often than not, I won't get notifications later. Also, if I get multiple notifications for the same thread (e.g. someone posted, and someone quoted my message), I make sure to open all of them for the same reason.

Though I have no idea whether those things are just coincidence and I'm just superstitious, haha.
