Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

Might be interesting if there's a sort of beast taming magic. Mages that focus on controlling monsters like griffons with magic rather than destroying them.

Lumen Magic has an influence over animals, but trying to get it to work on a Griffon before it tears your head off would probably not be worth the risk.

I dunno. Seems like if you were ambitious, skilled and/or crazy enough, flying around on a Griffon's back might be pretty worth it. Shooting a bow from the air or just swooping down and chopping people's heads off seems like it'd be a pretty difficult thing for enemies to deal with. Not to mention all those tall mountains and towers you would normally have to risk your life climbing become a lot easier to traverse.

Which is exactly why you bunch of butts ain't getting near one anytime soon :3

Oh, before we start I'll need to PM you all to add one unique lil' thing to your character sheets, but I'll do it after we have everyone ready.

Shooting a big ol blunderbuss off the back of a ravenous Griffon. That's a nice visual image right there

Avari Avari So this is what you have been spending your time doing. Is a place possibly open for a CS? And if so is there any sort of character that you would want me to play that is needed?

I think I have room for one more, as I'm waiting on three CS and you would take it to ten. If you're up for it - sure.
A Paladin or Cleric would be good if you wanna be in the Church. Or if you're interested in dealing with some complex political stuff could go for a nobleborn.

Is it possible to make my character as pathetic as possible while letting him use two different types of magic with one being healing?

I'm afraid not, no.

I'm only allowing two mages right now, due to the incredible rarity of them.

I know you mentioned you wanted me to change the mention of inquisitors in my cs, Avari Avari , but I wasn't sure how. Did you want me to make it so he is less afraid to speak his mind about his doubts of the church more generally? Or change it so he he just isn't afraid of an inquisitor, specifically, killing him for his opinions?

I prefer the second option personally, because they do seem pretty hard on blasphemy in general and it seems reasonable he'd be afraid to speak openly negatively of them, but I wasn't sure what you had in mind.

The latter, ye.

Avari Avari Sorry if it feels a bit rushed cuz it kinda was. Just gimme a few pointers and Ill fix it up.

Yeaaaaaaaaah this is gonna need some work I'm afraid.
I did say when you asked that he couldn't be a mage first of all, but you seem to have given him healing anyway.
But it honestly doesn't really make a lot of sense - He's not the best at anything, therefore he's useless? I don't quite get it. You can be a well meaning jack of all trades/Master of none and not be useless.

I like the idea that he's put out by everyone being better than him, but always tries his best - that's sweet. There's room for good development there, but then for some reason he has multiple personality disorder. Which kinda comes out of no where.

Some of his talents don't really work either - he has a great knowledge of anything that can be studied? (Doesn't that mean he knows everything?)
Also he's so useless (according to his weaknesses) that you might find it incredibly difficult to actually do much constructive with him. The multiple personality thing is kinda odd.

I'm very sorry that this came off as so negative. The basic idea of having this Average guy, who's not necessarily the best at anything but tries his best everytime - that I love. But everything that you've put around it doesn't really work for me. It's gonna need a lot of adjustment to be accepted.

Again, sorry for the negativity.

I would suggest: Definitely dropping the Mage class, as well as the insanity. Grammar needs a lot of work - as I did say at the start that good writing is a must - Give him less weaknesses and a few more positives, adjust his talents so they make a lil more sense then we can try again. For now though, it's a no. <3

He is usually pretty closed-mouthed about his doubts, knowing this could be a problem in a society where people with unduly outspoken criticisms of the Church have been accused of blasphemy and burdened with harsh punishments in consequence.

How does this work as a replacement for the inquisitor line?

Avari Avari alright, I finally have all the images I need to make the best character ever. Besides my back burner character. A man who leads a double life as both a professional magician who passes off his magic tricks as powerful magic to the nobility, and a gentleman thief who often robs said nobility after putting on his preformance.

Huh. A fraud?

I like it.
