Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

The quests were out so I was thinking I could have Andwyn do one of those. Maybe he could tag along with any one of the other characters. At this point I really have no idea what I should do with him.
i was thinking more immediate since the quest are after the wedding like Avari said. we still gotta work up to that point unless we just want Avari to go with some time jumps to make time go by a bit faster. cause we've been on between 10am-12pm for about 3 weeks :P but don't we have one more person to introduce themselves or had they done that already? i know that's what the point of this was for; character introductions.

Part of the reason it's taken so long as that I've been waiting for Character Sheets that have never arrived, needing to factor them into plans. But we're just moving ahead now.

I have:
one more Lucina Post
One more Lissa Post
Wedding
You guys wanted to do a tournament
Chapter 1

More characters can jump in as we go <3

daggonit. trying to find some inspiration for the ritual Aurora would have to do and all i'm getting is D&D stuff and final fantasy 14 guides. and none of them have anything to do with rituals in the first place. I have one in my head but i need the right inspiration to flesh it out. that's basically what i've been doing lately. :P

If you knew what I was thinking, I would be impressed, because I'm not even sure that I knew what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure I'm just spewing random words at this point.

In order to heal wounds, you must first inflict them in equal measure upon others. Equivalent exchange. Bam.
funny thing is that I was thinking this exact thing. but then that would almost make her a villain in the long run because as her powers grow so is the offering amount. so then she'll be having to basically kill people for her ritual. and I don't think Avari wants Aurora going down the villainess/anti-hero path. Even if i had it so Aurora was framing people as heretics to get them thrown in jail and using them as a sacrifice.

A system like that would make for a really dark kind of healing magic, sort of different from how healers are usually thought of. Not sure the idea really fits with this world, but it might be worth exploring in a different setting.

If you wanted to pursue it, though, you might say Aurora's growing power is not a matter of performing grander spells that require more mana and thus more death, but instead finding more efficient ways to make better use of what little mana she can derive from the few wounds or deaths she's able to inflict.

For example, an unskilled healer might be able to heal a single cut by cutting one person the same way. A more skilled healer might be able to use the mana from the same single cut she inflicted more efficiently so that she could heal many cuts using the same amount of energy. Like she knows a lot of shortcuts and stuff about how to use the mana that would take a lot of study and practice to do consistently.

Spirits ain't interested in Blood Sacrifices, they can't do anything with a corpse - they want your soul.

Ergo, every ritual performed leaves the user just slightly more open to personality changes/dreams/manipulation.

Avandra is most influential during the Full moon, so something to do with that.

Since the gods aren't interested in physical sacrifices, perhaps a sacrifice that's a bit more esoteric and spiritual, like burning a page from your favorite book for Avandra, to both metaphorically give her the knowledge and give more of yourself to the goddess, with similar rituals for the other gods. A favorite painting or a scribbling from when you were a child for Zanza, and maybe an old practice sword or first dagger for Bahamet.

I dunno, making Aurora hurt a bunch of people in exchange for power sounds like a pretty good way to rip out her soul to me. Metaphorically, anyway.

Sounds more like something Myrkul would want from you.
Hurt herself perhaps.
As with this. Myrkul just seems like the kind of diety who REALLY wants something from you before they give you anything.

Honestly, you could just have her maybe draw a glyph on the floor and meditate in the center - perhaps she goes into a dream state or some such.

It doesn't have to involve an offering or anything.

I still like my idea.
