Fantasy Academy De Feast (Reboot)

Wow Lizzy was being overwhelmed with questions right now, making her lean back a little to signify for him to please slow down. "Leo got me hooked on them, and so I've built an immunity to it" stated Lizzy as she once again took another bite of ice cream. "Are you ok?" asked Lizzy, truly concerned for the boy as a moment of consternation was on his face for a splint second

@Federoff

"Building an immunity..." Fan's mouth goes slack-jawed for a moment as he seems to grow lost in thought; even his elfin ears go limp.

"W-W-Well, since you are a friend, and we are speaking telepathically so that nobody can hear us..." The merboy visibly takes a deep breath and places both hands over his heart. "I am a spirit with a few banes--things that are very dangerous to me." The merboy's mental tone is soft and worried.

"One of those anathematic substances is deliberately lethally poisoned water, because water is one of my provinces as a spirit. If I make contact with that, or get lured into a circle or a polygon demarcated by it..." The nature spirit's azure eyes dart around skittishly, and his fishy tail almost seems to curl up. The ethereal sphere orbiting him dims its faint light to nearly nothing. "Then bad things will happen."

"I can touch that just fine, so as long as it is not used to knowingly lethally poison water." Fan gestures towards the elf with a mist-shrouded hand. "Just... p-please do not tell anyone, please, Ms. Lizzy? I do not want to get hurt..." The child lowers his head and puts on a quivering frown, then does his best to scoop up and finish the remaining spirit-magic-imbued vanilla ice cream in his own bowl.

Lizzy nodded before putting a comforting hand on the boys' shoulder, she then nodded again before speaking again. "Don't worry, I won't... after all we are friends" smiled Lizzy, trying to insure the boy nothing bad was going to happen to him.

@Federoff

Something still does not seem quite right about the texture of the merboy's shoulder. It is still silky smooth, like that of a baby, but there is a certain quality about it that is "off." Fan does not seem to notice it as he visibly cheers up with a small smile.

"I-It is fine, Ms. Lizzy. You did not mean to do any ill to me," in a tone almost grateful and apologetic. "Perhaps I should try building up a resistance to certain types of deliberately lethally poisoned water though..."

"Anyway..." The merboy shakes his head to regain composure, sending out a minute mist that disappears just before it would make contact with the elf, "I am surprised that you can eat ice cream so easily without it melting. Most nature spirits of fire I know of tend to melt their spirit-food-ified ice cream."

"Have you been practicing your pyromancy frequently, Ms. Lizzy?" Fan phrenically inquires in a praising tone. "Or are you just that good a natural at fire manipulation?"

Lizzy thought about the question for awhile before shrugging at the question. "I don't really use my powers that much, I just don't have a reason to" replied the girl as she took the final bite of ice cream. "I guess I am just naturally good" shrugged the girl honestly, she never really just used her powers.

@Federoff

"Nurturing and honing one's art is the duty of any willworker!" Fan transmits in an encouraging, upbeat tone. "Fire manipulation is very useful in everyday life for a human or an elf! You can keep yourself warm, you can heat up food and drinks, cook precisely with it, impress people with fiery tricks, provide energy for a house, dispose of waste, make things melt, evaporate, or even sublimate..." raising a slender finger for each application he names.

"The elements of the arcanum of Forces are all entwined, and if you practice well enough, you can manipulate heat downwards to effectively master cold manipulation!" The nature spirit demonstrates something similar through his own manipulation of water, freezing into existence an ice cube that drops onto his watery head; the merboy's spectral speck limns itself with a white-blue glow all the while. "Or you could branch out into fire's other brethren, electricity and light, and do even cooler things!

"Oh, and with some basic water magic from the arcanum of Matter, you could create and manipulate steam too!" Fan eagerly adds as his ghostly ball emanates a fountain of boiling, steaming water and then sucks it back in. "I am only able to do these things because I have a relatively advanced level of water magic, but even with lower levels of water and a good natural grasp of fire, you could do a whole lot, Ms. Lizzy!" The nature spirit's smile widens, and his whole face looks lively and alight.

Whoa, another bombardment, this time of information! The information was a little too much to take in since he was speaking so fast, but she got the gist of what he was saying. She replied to the question with a shrugged, not sure how to respond; "I am grateful for the information, but i don't like using my powers for self gain" stated Lizzy, she did not really know how to respond, so the words seemed somewhat choppy to lizzy.

@Federoff @OrenjiGatsu @Queen of Fantasy

"Oh, no, no, no," waving his little arms around, "I never said that practicing and refining your powers would be for yourself, Ms. Lizzy!" the merboy elucidates in a surprised tone.

"I am a benevolent nature spirit, and using the powers engraved in the natural world to help others is second, well, nature to me!" Fan proudly goes while placing a hand upon his bare chest. "That is why I kept offering my services to you, Ms. Softwer, Ms. Rosey, and Ms. Elsa earlier, so that I could use my gifts to help all of you in your everyday lives!" so the spirit psychically communicates with a cadence most cheerful.

"And if you want to use your powers to help others, then I know exactly how to enable you to do just that, Ms. Lizzy! It will be a way for the two of us friends to make others happy and help the world grow brighter bit by bit!" As though emphasizing the point, the spectral orb near him radiates a comforting, bluish light. "Would you be interested in doing so, Ms. Lizzy?" he asks with raised eyebrows and a hopeful smile.

"Would you like to give warmth and light to those in the cold and the dark?" Fan adds gently and encouragingly.

Lizzy thought about the question for a while before finally blinking her blue eyes, her answer was not a straight forward one but it would have to do. "I would love to, but not now... I am still figuring out a lot of stuff, when I am done I would gladly do so" explained Lizzy, picking her scarf back up and wrapping it around her neck, it was more out of habit then anything else.

@Federoff

The nature spirit takes a deep breath, and his spectral orb greatly dims its refulgence.

"Is there something troubling you? I can help out with it. If you need someone to listen to you, I am here," placing both of his hands over his heart. "That is what friends are for, right?"

"And I do have some tricks of time too, so if you need a few auguries, prophecies, or postcognitions to help with decision-making, I can lend aid using them," the merboy offers in a soft voice.

"Just ask if you need assistance from a friend, okay, Ms. Lizzy? I will be here to support you," Fan promises with heartfelt candor in his psychic words.

Lizzy smiled lightly at his words before nodding at him, "Thank you, but please Fan call me Lizzy, Ms. Lizzy is too formal" replied the girl, she didn't mind it but she just wasn't use to it, so it was new thing she wasn't really fond of. "Do not worry about me, I will be able to figure it out in due time" continued the red-haired girl,h er now back to brushing her long red hair. "So how long have you been around?" asked Lizzy, trying to change the subject.

@Federoff

Fan does not respond for a few moments, eyes fixed on the floor, before he lifts them back up to face the taller elf and puts on a smile.

"Well, Lizzy," he begins in a slightly more upbeat and natural tone, "I am very, very young by nature spirit standards. I am only sixteen," admitting with twiddled thumbs and wiggling elfin ears.

"My parents--oh, all nature spirits are adopted since we are born of the world itself--are a nature spirit of water and space, and another of water and time. They are, uhh..." The piscean kid begins to rapidly count off numbers on his digits in old, Mesopotamian style, using every section of his fingers, "gazillions of years old though. Our society is pretty egalitarian, but they are kind of close to being one of the spirits' emperors and empresses," almost embarrassed to admit, judging by his mild blush.

"I know it is rude to ask a girl her age, but... as an elf, you have probably been around for a really, really long time, right?" the merboy asks with a cadence of genuine curiosity. "I am sure you are gifted with a lot more worldly experience than me... and that is very cool and respectable, Lizzy," complimenting with a friendly smile.

"... I can only imagine the stories you have to tell of your travels," Fan amicably adds.

Lizzy nodded at the boys' response, her seemingly not caring about him basically saying she was old by human standards. "Yes I have been around for a long time, the world sure has changed a lot" replied the girl, satisfied with her answer. "Thank you" added Lizzy as she continued to brush her hair.

@Federoff

"I have heard many stories from my parents, other nature spirits, and human Awakened mages of the Atlantean Diamond orders of the mythic past, particularly the age of the civilization of Atlantis," the merboy enthusiastically relates with eager-looking, wide eyes.

"However, those accounts were from the perspective of nature spirits and from human Awakened," Fan clarifies as he traces out in conjured fog a set of First Tongue glyphs for "nature spirit" and "human" that shimmer with azure light, "so I would love to hear the perspective of an elf."

"You say that 'the past is the past,' Lizzy," telepathically mimicking her voice as the merboy quotes her, "but that does not mean the past is interesting. Do you have any stories to tell of your travels around the world?" the piscean boy adds while his fish-tail slowly sways about.

Lizzy thought about the question for a few minutes before shrugging. "I do have stories, but what I mean by the past is the past is not that it is boring, but that it is better not to dwindle on the things you wish but on what is reality" explained the girl, a philosophy she was taught long ago, can you guess who taught her that?

@Federoff

"Is that a philosophy that Leo taught you...?" Fan asks with a tone full of wonder. "He must have been a very wide person."

"I would add that with the right abilities though, like properly used magic, wishes can be turned into reality," the nature spirit declares from the bottom of his heart, "and it is my duty to help see that magic blossom and be given to others."

"I am still very interested in your stories though, Lizzy!" The little merboy lowers his altitude such that he places his elbows on his desk and cups his pale cheeks in his palms. "Could you please share one or two that you are the most proud of?" he pleads like an enraptured fan.

"Hmm" went Lizzy as she tried to think of a story to share, most of her life was not very exciting; she never really fought anyone nor made some life changing decision nor invention, so she lead a pretty bland life. "Well its not much, but I was able to visit Atlantis a few times and thanks to that information I was able to help Plato write his book on Atlantis" replied the girl with a shrug, she didn't really think that was something of interest to most people.

@Federoff

"Wow! That is exceedingly, extraordinarily cool, Lizzy!" Fan does not seem to be exaggerating in the slightest; his saucer-plate eyes, wide open mouth, upright elfin ears, and brilliantly shining orb all betray shock and awe.

"I think you are the only person I have ever heard of who has actually visited Atlantis, whose history is now shrouded and occulted!" The nature spirit smiles with joy as a multicolored fog limns his form.

"You are simply awesome! I am sure many nature spirits and human Awakened mages of the Diamond orders would love to meet you! Well... not right now, but maybe later... and only if you are willing, Lizzy!" The astonishment never quite leaves the fishy child's telepathic worlds.

"What was it like, Lizzy?" he further pleads, long nails practically digging into his cheeks. "Was Atlantis as grand and majestic a utopia of magic and enlightenment like the legends say?"

Lizzy thought about the question for a while before finally nodding in response to the boys' question. "Yes just as the legends say, a Utopian society that worshipped Poseidon" replied Lizzy with a light smile on her face as she began to remember about Atlantis.

@Federoff

"If I have my lore from my parents and the human Awakened mages' Diamond orders correct," tilting his head and placing a mist-covered finger on his cheek, "then Poseidon was indeed an important figure in Atlantean civilization."

"Poseidon was either one of the dragons that gave the gift of Awakened magic, one of the Oracles, or a powerful supernal entity," tracing out complex glyphs in created fog that correspond to various Atlantean magic circles, "but all we know for sure is that his myths later informed the Greek deity of the same name."

"What was the magic there like, Lizzy?" Fan eagerly and energetically asks while setting his fair cheeks back into his cupped hands. "Was it as awesome and as world-shaking as Awakened lore tells us?"

(Last post for the night)

Lizzy, again, took a few moments to think about it; in truth she hadn't really thought about Atlantis for a long long time. After a few moments, she finally replied with a nod.
"Yes, though it did have its limits" replied Lizzy, not meaning to sound quizzical but did anyways.

@Federoff

"I am sure those limits must have been as high as the heavens themselves if the stories are true!" Fan exclaims with wonder.

"If you do not mind, Lizzy, I will share what you have told me with my parents, a few other nature spirits, and some human Awakened mages of the Diamond orders. I will quote you as an anonmous source, unless you wish to be known," making the offer with a gracious smile. "Either way though, thank you so much for sharing such with me! I truly do appreciate it!" Even with such scant and general details, the merboy's expression is as joyful as can be, and the phantasmagoric orb revolving around him shimmers with varicolored light.

@OrenjiGatsu @Queen of Fantasy

"What about you, Ms. Softwer, Ms. Rosey, Ms. Elsa?" the nature spirit turns to the others seated and gregariously queries. "Do any of you have interesting stories to share?"

(Last one for the night)

Softwer did have a pretty interesting story on how she became a shifter. However, she knew that if she told, she would have to reveal that she was a human. She knew that she couldn't let that happen, so she didn't say it. She just said some story about her brother, Haps. "Well I do have a story," she said," it involves my katana and my older brother. You want to hear it?"

@Agata

@OrenjiGatsu

"Swords are generally not part of my purview of water, space, and time," Fan admits with a twiddling of his fingers, "but most do involve treatment in water as part of their forging process and periods of letting time pass, so I can understand them well enough!" awkwardly goes the nature spirit as he tries to find a flimsy connection.

"What is your katana like, Ms. Softwer? Has it seen battle? Was it an heirloom from your brother?" the merboy curiously queries. "If not, and you do not know its history, I could perhaps scry upon its past and any persons associated with it," the nature spirit offers as his ethereal orb brightens, and a ring of sparkling water appears in the air to prep up a scrying window.
