Hahaha! You are right. But no I'm also in this other rp where someone used Honey from Ouran high school to play a vicious vampire. It just didn't fit at all

Human Livers finally overpowered Natsuki's laziness


One day, I can just imagine a character trying to jump out of a tree, or into a scene dramatically


and then epicly failing by tripping at the last moment as the rest of the characters just clap slowly

Well,


Many myths said things like: "If a Gumiho eats a 1000 livers within the span of 1000 years, it will become human" or just general things about becoming more powerful after consuming human livers or their hearts


But


Eating livers just seems kind of.......erk


And would just feel awkward to write something like this in the rp:


"Natsuki dug his hand into his victim's torso as he extracted its liver. Ignoring the screaming and the blood staining his pure white sleeve, the fox laughed wryly and lifted his prize to inspect it more closely."


.................yeah...


So I decided on an alternative: souls


The reason why I picked souls is sometimes, fox fire is said to appear similar to hitodama (the souls of the dead)


and the balls or bells that kitsune are often depicted with contain the power or soul of the kitsune


There's also the fact that foxes spirit away or bewitch humans in order to eat their hearts (Gumiho) or livers (Kitsune)


The heart is where many people used to believe where the soul was contained and some other ancients believed that the liver was the center and source of all life being that it was one of the largest organs in the body


So I figured that the reason why foxes in legends often ate hearts or livers in order to gain the human's essence of life which is kind of what souls are supposed to be


I wish I could have gotten more info from Huli Jings, but I'm better with Korean and Japanese myths rather than Chinese QvQ
