Astrien nodded. She crawled closer and closer quietly, her paws expertly dodging twigs and dry leaves. Once she was close enough, she glanced up at him.

A few hours later Linara woke up looking at Amoux seeing him asleep, she smiled and stood up , walking to the lake and lapped up some water

He glanced back at the wolf, distracted by his thoughts.


He hasn't had a friend that hasn't abandoned him at the end of the first day.


she was cute...


What did he just think?


Schatten shook his head, trying to get the thoughts out of his head. They are just friends, nothing else.


He was lucky to even get a friend, who would want to be friends with an insane cannibalistic wolf that was out-casted?


She probably won't be able to return to the pack without being laughed at... already, Schatten has ruined another life by simply being around them...


Once again , absent-mindedness caused him to mess up , losing his balance. he was thrown to the left , having to take on the deer with horns.


He jumped from the tree , praying that he wouldn't be impaled, but gravity says otherwise .


he landed in the middle of the deer's head, Schatten ignored the pain of the dull horns being stabbed into him from the fall , and instead bit the back of the deer's neck, killing it quickly.


The deer quickly fell to it's side, stabbing more of the horns into the wolf. the pain rushed to him like a tidal wave, he yelped as he was stabbed.
 



Astrien quickly dashed towards him. The other deer were startled, and ran off. She pulled Schatten off the deer by the scruff of his neck.

"Fucking hell Schatten."

She cursed, examining his wounds.

"That was fun!" he said , trying to ignore the pain. He always tried to keep spirits up by ignoring the problem.


He soon realized that he couldn't. the tail wagging stopped as he sat. the smile did not stop, as to signal that everything was okay. the eye twitching said otherwise.


"I'm fiiiiine, I'm fiiine..." he did start to feel lightheaded, but he ignored it as well.


"I'm perfectly okay!" he lied , the his eye twitched and it looked like a forced smile.
 



Astrien noticed it. Eye twitching... Tail not wagging...

"You're not fine."

She said, pushing him down genly with her paw.

"What the hell were you thinking anyways?"

She asked, furrowing her brows as she ripped off a blue flower from the floor.

"Eat."

Amoux slowly woke from his deep sleep. He flutterd his eyes as he got used to the light. He slowly rose onto all four paws. He looked around trying to spot Linara. She was standing by the lake. He walked over to her still quite sleepy. "hello you." He said, his voice rough from sleep. He then let out a big yawn.
 



Astrien grumbled. The bleeding lessened. Walking over to the deer, she hauled it closer to him. With her nails, she cut the deer's flank open.

"Eat."

She said quietly, walking over the the deers chest and begining to eat.

"Good" she says jumping into the water submerging and resurfacing in the deep end "You gonna join me or just stand there" she yelled at him from the lake in a playful way
 
He lowered his head from embarrassment


The voices in his head had been silent for a while.


He suddenly heard the voices again , the whisper sent shivers down his spine but had been familiar to him.


"ohh...hi guys , how have you been?...whats that?- wh-what?"


Kill...Kill...Kill...


you are a burden, you have already ruined her life, end it , send her the sweet relief of death.


You are not friends, she is using you...she will soon kill you...





He stopped close to the deer, laying on his stomach and laying his head on the ground , putting his paws over his eyes as he fought against the voices.


His mind turned into a war zone ,being the fragile thing, it was soon to break.
 



Astrien slowed down as she ate.

"Schatten? Are you alright?"

She asked, nudging him gently with her snout. She was beggining to get a little worried.

"Aren't you hungry?"

She asked, turning her her gently as she lowered it to try and see if she could find his eyes.

"Schatten?"

She called, a little bit louder this time. Astrien pulled a paw up to her chest. Reaching foreword slowly, she nudged him with it.

"Run...please..." he said in a strained voice in an almost a whisper. he continued the twitching and flinched when he was touched.
