He rambled on and on about random stuff from the mind , twitching and shaking as he trotted along the treeline.


He suddenly stopped right under Astrien. the ears perking up.


"Ohhh...I cant wait to RIP you OPEN!" "HAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!"


his eyes crossed for a second as the laughter became heavier ,The emotion changed on Schatten's face quickly . The emotions seem to be out of control. he dropped to the ground and started to whimper.


"I didn't mean too- please! I don't want to be in agony any more! I want to die!" He continued to whimper.


The whimper soon turned into laughter as he picked himself off of the ground.


"The screams of the death fill my heart with JOY!".


he had completely lost it.
 
Shadow snaps out of her trance just as she fell over. Breathing heavily she looked up at Roreck, her vision blurring.


Tavi watched not sure exactly what was going on.
 
Shadow couldn't move, she laid lifeless on the ground as blood pooled under her.


Tavi started whimpering and moved over to Roreck
 
"Shadow ! " he yelled looking around before looking at Tavi " Tavi go to those two wolves there by the lake and hurry" he yelled as he moved shadow over into his back taking her to the lake slowly
 
"hey Roreck....remember when...when we used to play in the mud and scare....your sister?" Shadow asked weakly as her blood ran down her back.


Tavi darted off towards the lake barking trying to get anyone's attention.
 



Astrien just watched him in complete silence. What even. Astrien wanted to shift her weight off to one side, the branch was digging into her skin. A loud crack was heard, and down came the branch with Astrien on it. She let out a small Yelp of surprise as she crashed into the floor, her body bouncing a few feet away. She groaned. Her paw ached. Was it broken?

The wolf once again stopped, lifting his head slightly as the ears twitched to her direction.


he kept the smile.


He turned around slowly, seeing his victim defenseless.


"Found you! YOU LOSE!"


He ran towards the target , laughing.
 



Astrien couldn't really do anything. She stood up, and tried to make a run for it. Deep down, she knew it was useless. She was limping. He was running. It was only a matter of seconds before he caught her. But she wouldn't go down without a fight.

He charged and attempted to tackle the target. he tripped on the branch and fell, falling onto his side.


The laughing stopped as it was soon silent.
 



Astrien stopped, turning around. Panting quietly, she steadily made her way back.

"Schatten?"

She called quietly, standing in a small defence stance near him. She was not sure if it was indeed him there.

He chuckled , attempting to scramble back to his feet whilst he growled.


he continued to ramble unintelligible things...
 



Astrien sighed. As he tried to get up, Astrien pushed him down with her good paw. She moved over to the carcass. Tearing off a big chunk of meat, she moved back to him. Astrien held it in her mouth as she lowered her head, placing the bleeding chunk directly infront of his snout.

His expression quickly changed from shocked to happiness as he bit into the chunk of meat. he rolled over onto his belly and continued to rip it into shreds as he ate.

Astrien sighed, limping her way back to the carcass. She began tearing into it herself. Astrien lay down, using her good paw to pull the meat towards her so she could eat it. She would occasionally glance back at him to make sure he was still there.

His ears perked up , thinking he heard his name.


One moment , he was there, the next , gone.


almost as if he had disappeared.
 



Astrien looked back at him after a while. She stopped eating.

"Schatten?"

She called, slowly walking towards where he was. Where was he now? The kid seemed to just attract trouble.

"Schatten? Where are you?"

She called again sniffing around.

Schatten was long gone , he was following the voice.


there was a small yelp as his senses were soon taken over.


you WILL kill her...


He nodded , he had the crazed look, but hid it slightly.


"I'm here!" he replied to Astrien.
 



"Oh. You scared me."

She said, chuckling. Astrien walked closer to him, brushing up against his side. She stopped to look at where the horn had poked him.

"Does it still hurt?"

She asked, glancing up at him then back at the wound.

The pain was still there , but he didn't react.


"It's fine." he stared blankly, stepping to the side.


After a second , he suddenly attacked , biting down on her leg with the jagged teeth.
 
"you didn't see him did you?" Shadow asked as she started fading in and out of consciousness. "He was quite fast...and quiet...after you drop me off, check on the pack and the den"


Tavi got to the lake barking trying to draw attention, panting.
 
"shadow was walking me out to show me the safe areas to practice hunting with Roreck and something attacked her and now she's dying!!" Tavi said frantically then plopped down on the ground breathing heavily.
 
Rareck reaches the wolf by the lake "Take care of her and Tavi !" he yelled out as he turned and gave a howl signaling his sentinels to return to the den as he ran off to the den himself
