This is tentative and subject to change depending on your answer to my earlier question
Gamma-Girl - Striker 8 (Blaster 6), Mover 3, Brute 3
Gamma-Girl - primary effect
Using their body, the host can generate concentrated electromagnetic waves in the gamma spectrum with unique non-Rutherfordian properties. Although they pass through most matter unimpeded like normal gamma rays, after going away an arm's reach away from the host, they rebind back to the host's body and reflect back out, until they achieve critical mass in ten seconds and the host stops generating further gamma rays.
Gamma rays are, obviously, very dangerous. Even momentary proximity to the host when using their power can cause Stage 3 to 5 burn wounds from radiation and has a 99.999% likelihood of causing malignant and uncurable cancer tumors. Also, it causes wallpapers to peel off and makes white paint yellow, so I think you can guess it's not very environmentally friendly.
The host can turn on a "Manton Dampener" that makes the power safer, reducing cancer risk to below 0.01% and lowering damage to Stage 1 to 2 burn wounds in ten seconds by consciously altering the properties of the gamma rays.
Interestingly enough, gamma rays share many similarities with x-rays (de facto, they are nigh-identical except for their source of origin,) and can be used to shrink and terminate cancer tumors with training. So eventually, the host should be able to use their power with enough proficiency to utilize it at full power without the threat of killing someone with cancer.
Did I mention yet that gamma rays hold a ginormous metric fuckton of ambient energy? A short, controlled zap and your phone is charged. (Or fried, if you're not careful.)
E=Mc2 Grenade - secondary effect
Gamma rays hold immense energy, as each of their waves has 10,000 times the amount of energy that an equivalent in photons (visible light) does, to the point where a concentrated and strong beam of them can convert a part of its charge on impact with a physical surface.
This allows the host to create matter ex nihilo, however, it is limited to free electrons and their anti-matter equivalent; positrons. This process takes several seconds of concentration and focus and molding gamma rays with their power, comparable to creating a localized hadron collider around their own axis. The resultant, nanometer-big electron-positron annihilation will result in a gamma forcefield-contained B meson and W & B boson cluster that oscillates at a frequency of over 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 simple harmonic motions per second.
Or, in normal people speech, you stand in place for a few seconds, focus, and you have an invisible, extremely small thingy that you can shoot at something to make shit blow up, with enough energy to total a car. Typically deals Stage 5 or 6 Injuries, but glancing contact (further away than six meters from the source of the explosion) can limit the injuries to Stage 4 or below. All-in-all, be careful with this.
The effective range of this explosion is a six-meter radius, and the 'throwing' range that the host can chuck the ex nihilo bomb at is a fifteen-meter radius.
In addition, the gamma rays, when they reflect off the host's body, will turn into solid matter coded with a biological chain identical to the host's own genetic makeup if they detect a wound. In practice, this means the host can heal from injuries at an accelerated rate. It is possible, with training, to direct this effect at other people, but mistakes can be fatal. The healing occurs at a rate of Stage 4 to Stage 3 in three days (and some stability), Stage 3 to 2 in six hours, and Stage 2 to 1 in half an hour.
Gamma Flight - secondary effect
The host can selectively make a part of their gamma rays hard by charging them kinetically and potentially, then releasing them in a given direction with a safety dampening effect. As a result, the host can generate push force that makes them capable of hovering and limited flight.
In practice, the host receives the ability to fly with the hard limit of 110kph, at altitudes no higher than one kilometer and an acceleration rate no higher than 10kph. Flying at top speed for too long may be dangerous for the host due to prolonged exposure to excessive g-forces, but can be alleviated with some kind of special equipment. The flight is very maneuverable.
Notably, ramming into a person at full velocity can cause Stage 4 injuries, but since the host doesn't have immunity to impacts, the effect is mutual.
Manton Limit: Self
Lethality: This power (a) causes Stage 3 burn wounds (literally peels off people's skin and chars their hair) in seconds and (b) it gives them stage 4c metastatic cancer over their entire bodies. Just pop this on, punch someone and turn it off. If your neighbor loses his hair the following day, you know who the supervillain is. Also, it explodes.
Data: Ruther ++++++++++ ++++++++++ ++++++++++ ++++++++++ (40)
It may seem overpowered, but for its data, it's really not. Let me go into detail, because I love describing the strategy of powers.
The core effect is, on its own, decently powerful but it's worth jackshit unless people willingly approach within a literal arm's reach. And chances are they won't if they know how it works. If they do, that means they either have a sword, they're a brute with some kind of immunity effect, or are wearing armor from solid lead. So you have to focus on other targets.
The secondary effect is where things get interesting. The ability to charge up to explode stuff certainly makes you dangerous as hecklepoops, but again, most of the time your target will either be a brute, or they'll be running as fast as they can. Alternatively, if they can't take it, it's likely you won't blow them up without repercussions like "premeditated murder with use of parahuman power,"
because let's be honest; using that effect to kill a normie is basically that. They don't stand an ounce, an iota of fucking odds against a literal anti-matter explosion.
And the third effect, perhaps the least strategic, is a simple high-speed flight ability. It has enough speed to allow you to chase cars across the city with 50-50 odds of success (in that cars are faster, but you can fly over buildings whereas a car can't,) or let you ram into a person for mutual obliteration (or maybe just fly after a guy to catch him, or to scale a building.)
Its side abilities like charging electric equipment or low-end regenerative effect are more like a side-dish compared to all of that, and don't really do much in an open, tactical scenario.
Is it versatile? Slightly. It offers high and dangerous firepower in low and middle range, is certainly suitable to deal with Brutes, such as Lung. At the same time, you have to exercise caution when dealing with unpowered normies or you'll just kill them on accident or give them Lung cancer (bad joke, I know.) It also offers fair mobility to top that off, so the end effect is flying artillery.
Overall, it's most effective against capes that: (a) like to get in close, (b) aren't particularly mobile, (c) aren't Blasters, (d) aren't Brutes.
If you tell me what the creature was, some Trump changes may occur, but don't have to. It'll probably limit one of the other effects, but give you something just as good to compensate. In fact, I might just leave it to your judgement. Do as you will.
I'm happy with the outcome, as it does a good job to reflect the Trigger Event. In-your-face threats result in Striker powers, and some may argue the Blaster power isn't exactly fitting, but I'd say it's not a big bother as it is more of an extension or "application" of the main effect. The Brute and Mover ratings originate, in equal parts, from her regeneration and flight, the first coming from the wound dealt by the creature and the latter from the momentary desire to flee and find aid which she didn't find.
Let me know what you think.
Actually, it perfectly matches a member of the Slaughterhouse Nine; Crawler. I can tag him down as that, if you'd like.Holy. Crap.
I actually love it. I didn't expect anything like that, but boy I am not disappointed...
I don't really know what the creature is; I was thinking about it being some sort of underground (not widely known) villain, although I can change that if it's not allowed...
Oh really? Jeez, I didn't realize, hahaActually, it perfectly matches a member of the Slaughterhouse Nine; Crawler. I can tag him down as that, if you'd like.
Yup. It'll yield some Trump elements with a risk of Escalation data infecting the main power.Oh really? Jeez, I didn't realize, haha
Sure, that could work
Does that affect Albany's power at all though?
Ooooo this one is neat too! Honestly this one seems a bit more versatile to me, so that's cool!MoltenLightning . Alright.
Revised. Also, this is the first official time that shards directly use their shenanigans to alter the outcome of real-world situations to affect conflict between hosts, so... rejoice?
tl;dr: You get a Trump secondary effect, and now your shard and Crawler's shard are best buddies, so expect to see more of him because the shards will try to gently nudge you and Crawler to conflict with each other whenever possible.
PATCH NOTES:
> Shard Ruther and Shard Escalation hail broadcasts to each other and discuss.
>> The shards have decided to form a cooperative relationship for purposes of Data Gathering and Data Trade. Expect conflict with Escalation's host/s in the future.
>>> Both shards agreed to end conflict shortly after Trigger Event to ensure Ruther's host doesn't die.
>>>> Trigger Event altered by Shard Interference.
>>>>> Trigger Event proceeded as described:
> Ruther's Host, "Albany Veldheer" Triggered with the power detailed below.> Ruther's Host, "Albany Veldheer" used the main effect of the power, directed by Ruther to be less immediately lethal to Escalation's Host, "Crawler." The host may falsely believe her power grew in strength roughly twice after the Trigger Event was over.> Escalation used Shard Function: <Insinuate Action> with the goal: "Flee after receiving damage.">> Crawler succumbed to Insinuate Action.> Crawler ran away, leaving Host "Albany Veldheer" alone.> Another secondary effect was added, using Escalation Data to tie in with Ruther Data and form a combined effect. As a result, the other secondary effects become slightly diluted and weakened.
>> Trump 3 rating added.
>> Mover rating lowered to 2.
>> Brute rating lowered to 2.
>> Striker Sub-Rating: (Blaster/Shaker) lowered to 3.

All-in-all, be careful with this.
The effective range of this explosion is a four-meter radius, and the 'throwing' range that the host can chuck the ex nihilo bomb at is a thirteen-meter radius. The charge time is eight seconds.
Gamma Flight - secondary effect
The host can selectively make a part of their gamma rays hard by charging them kinetically and potentially, then releasing them in a given direction with a safety dampening effect. As a result, the host can generate push force that makes them capable of hovering and limited flight.
In practice, the host receives the ability to fly with the hard limit of 90kph, at altitudes no higher than one kilometer and an acceleration rate no higher than 4kph.
Metawaves - secondary effect
The host can force their gamma rays to enter a capture mode where, instead of generating heat and energy, they hijack shard effects within the range of the main effect and nullify them. At first, this nullification effect is weak, however, as it interacts with hostile data more and more, it learns to counter the powers more effectively.
In other words, if this effect is turned on and someone uses Power [A] on host, Power [A] will only have 80% effectiveness. Given time, the second attempt of using Power [A] will only have 70% effectiveness. The next one will have 60%, then 50%, 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 2.5%, 1.25%, and so on with each use. At some point, once the effects become barely notable it begins to evolve further countermeasures against that specific data type, such as rebinding the attack back at the one who used it or other effects.
However, Powers [C] and [D] are unaffected by this and counters to each have to be developed separately. This effect remembers all previously saved counters, so progress is never lost.
Keep in mind that the effectiveness of this function is subpar when used on powers whose Manton Limits do not affect the host or the area around them.

Yeah, and you get a famous nemesis right from the very start, who is a member of the one and only Slaughterhouse Nine. This guy:Ooooo this one is neat too! Honestly this one seems a bit more versatile to me, so that's cool!
Not being able to heal or fly as effectively is a bummer, but they might still come in handy
Oh boy...Yeah, and you get a famous nemesis right from the very start, who is a member of the one and only Slaughterhouse Nine. This guy:
*Pat on the shoulder* Good luck. Every time you hurt him, he develops countermeasures against whatever you hurt him with. What you're seeing here is a creature that will one day escalate to become the ultimate weapon. You better kill him before he does develop said countermeasures.
NUSKI Platelet-Chan
Any news on those characters coming along, my pal-buddies?
Paarthurnax
Yo. Are you still interested?
Alright, that's cool. Health comes first. (And if you're not there to recuperate yourself, friends and family still come first.)Yes I'm in the hospital currently so things are going slower than anticipated. I have a good chunk done though
I’ll add the details in a while, but basically the girl triggered an acidic vomit of sorts. Amanda and her lackeys found out about her anorexia and her irrational and compulsive need to vomit her food to maintain her figure, it also happens that this particularly girl is seen as a threat by Amanda due to her looks and figure and such. And so Amanda barged in as she was retching and was basically trying to force her to swallow ot back up. This caused the girl to have a trigger event and develop the aforementioned acidic decomposing bile. Girl will be named Sandra if a name is needed.CrimsonEclipse
Need more detail on the anorexic girl. How did she Trigger? What was her power exactly? Her name?
Ooooo that's neat :0CrimsonEclipse
Congratulations. Another Ancient Shard.
Lady of Darkness - Breaker/Striker 3 (Brute 6, Stranger 6, Thinker 3, Trump 3)
Lady of Darkness - primary effect
The host enters a Breaker state in which they become a vapor that absorbs all energy and electromagnetic waves. This vapor effectively crushes light around them by absorbing it, making them look like a shadow or like they are made of liquid, rippling waves of darkness. This vapor is contained in a forcefield shaped like a humanoid, which has a consistency and hardness similar to wet clay or some kind of 'reinforced balloon,' which can be pierced with physical attacks much like skin, which will make the vapor leak out and make it 'bleed.'
Due to consuming energy, this vapor offers the host a Brute rating by virtue of absorbing the brunt of most attacks of any kind. Due to the nature of the vapor, physical attacks only hurt when they cause leakage of too much vapor, and energy attacks like fire or cold are nearly meaningless. Wounds do not transfer between the Breaker state and the host's natural state, and the Breaker state heals wounds at a rate of one cubic foot of vapor per two minutes.
Even though kinetic energy is considered a type of energy, and indeed, an attack like a punch will very rarely cause vapor leakage and also be absorbed, the host should be wary of knives or pointy things, as they can cause enough damage to cause leakage in spite of the absorption effect.
The host can repurpose all energy that is absorbed by them at a 1:1 rate. For every second the Breaker state is activated, the host can become invisible for that same duration of time. For every punch received, the host can release that same kind of energy or the accumulated energy of several punches back at the perpetrator. This includes powers, which can be utilized in that same vein but only in contact with the vapor.
The Abyss Stares Back - secondary effect
In addition, in this state, the host can rapidly process all energy that enters their body. By virtue of absorbing photons and reading them, the host effectively has a 360-degree vision around their own axis with enhanced clarity, enhanced hearing, and so on.
Manton Limit: Self
Lethality: Not really lethal on its own. It helps you survive against energy attacks and a very little bit against physical ones, but the lethality comes from the fact that I do so pray you show mercy to the dumb fucker that decided nuking you was a good idea.

Her power in the Trump mode would eventually develop countermeasures against it. If Albany fought her, it'd be a high-risk, high-reward kind of fight. You either win all or you lose all.Ooooo that's neat :0
