Cane nods at Oliver and runs over to the door, not before dismissing himself from the Lord. He rounds the bend and sees Vasilisa. He pulls her into a quick hug. "Are you alright dear?" @Aio
"Cane," he repeated. Nodding his head as he took a sip of his wine before mindlessly twirling the drink within its crystal glass, watching as this Cane Andrews allowed his expressions to crawl atop his face without any hesitation. He cares for her, he thought. His face was evidence enough, so instead, he waltzed over towards the direction Oliver came, his scent trailing all the way to his glass window-pane doors wear a petite blonde stood, her dress covered in nothing but dirt and leaves. Cadis' jaw clenched, he did't like brutality, especially not on woman. When Cane come over and took his place, Cadis waltzed back over to the pretty brunette and flashed her a smile, "I believe you should go off to bed, you should be able to find your room, I made sure that the doors were tagged." And they were, every important resident had a golden tag placed on their door with their names on them. Each of them were addressed as Lady or Sir. "Good night to you," and as he walked away, he spotted a girl, Vampire most likely, glancing his way every so often. Her ears were perked, almost as if she were intent on listening to them. Smirking, he waved and with the small distance between them, he stepped closer to where she sat and asked, "And your evening, my dear?"
When Cane pulled her into an embrace Vasilisa thought she was about to cry but instead stood quietly in his arms, simply nodding to his question. Oliver followed the Lords instructions taking a right down the hall before he started to sprint towards the kitchen. Opening the doors he looking inside asking one of the worked where Ageatha was. After they pointed her out he ran inside to ask her for a room.
Anne jumped slightly. Since her conversation with Amara no one had talked to her, and she had been so occupied listening to this strange vampire's thoughts that she hadn't noticed any of the commotion occurring. Her face flushed with embarrassment at how strange she must have seemed, staring at him, and she shot up to curtsey. She wasn't sure how he would react to not being shown proper respect, but she didn't want to test her luck. "M-my evening is very good, My Lord. A-a-and you?" She stuttered.
Diali frowned, pushing herself up as she stood up and approached the man who growled at her. Her soft green eyes were near glowing their natural turquoise color, if not for the exposure the moon brought upon her face. "Well, if you're fine, care to take a walk with me?" She asked, but she didn't bother waiting for an answer, she was bothered greatly by his growl as she placed her dainty hand in his and pulled away from his spot in the middle of the walkway and towards the fountain.
Agetha
"Who called my name?" Agetha mumbled, she was busy logging tomorrow's shipments when she looked up to see a young man dressed clad in his suit. Frowning, she knew exactly what he wanted, Cadis has his ways of letting his servants know, much to her dismay because she was the only one that didn't like how he communicated to her. "This Vasilisa girl, right? Follow me, dear." The brittle old woman lead him down a separate hallway and before long, they ended up at the lobby. She urged him forward with her hand, taking him up the stairs as she headed towards the East Wing where everyone's Quarters rested, the Nobles however, stayed in the North Wing where the Lord himself stayed, and it was quite a walk from here. "When you get to the North Wind, there will be a sign, you should see her name on a tag that is bolted to the door. That is her room, and her belongings should be here. I know because I put them there."
Cadis grinned like a cat, his brows lifting as his jet hair framed his face in waves that stopped a little past his jawline. "You stutter? How surprising, I thought differently of this encounter," his voice trailed off at the end as he continue with, "What is your name?"
Anne tried to repress her nerves. She could feel her parent's stares burning through her, and she knew she couldn't mess this up. "My name is Anne, My Lord. It is a pleasure to meet you." She frantically recalled her etiquette training, trying to remember what she was told to do in this situation, but nothing was coming to mind.
Oliver nodded, not knowing why but he was in awe with this woman, he shook his head quickly to gather his thoughts before he spoke. "Thank you Mrs." He bowed his head before he opened the door making sure everything was in place for Vasilisa to make her comfortable.
Ciro followed the woman unwillingly wanting to go back to the party to find Vasilisa, to make sure she hadn't told anyone about their little argument. He didn't know what this woman had in store for him but he wasn't going to wait to find out.
Lord Cadis smiled, she was so tense and nervous. He reached for one of her hands, holding them in his as he smiled down at her, stopping at the height of six foot six he towered over her small body. "Lady Anne, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I honestly hope that as a future reference you will be able to relax around me. I prefer you to be comfortable with me rather than attempt such proper etiquette. I don't like it forced dear," and teasingly he leaned toward her, his mouth pressed against her ear as he inhaled her perfume. There he whispered, "Please try not to meddle with my thoughts, you'll find them rather. . . unpleasant. I would rather them not taint your innocence." Pulling away, he winked her way before teasingly bowing in response to her frantic curtsy from before. "Good evening to you, madame." With that, he made his way towards the entrance of the hall. There the doors were pulled open by his servants and he paused before clapping his hands once. The clap was loud, the lights of the ballroom dimming slightly, as if to hint to a good night to those who would rather prefer to retire now as the light of the moon cloaked everyone in it's beautiful, basking light in a marvelous wonder.
She continued to hold onto his hand, not bothering removing it because she was going to take him back to the entrance in just a few moments. She led him to where the hedges formed a small maze-like walk way, exposing many flowers that bloomed at night as she regarded them quietly. After a little while, she could still sense his anger. "You need to calm down before you see her, a woman can't commit herself to a man who does not treat her well enough to refrain from hitting her," she was quick to add, "especially when he doesn't get his way. I believe Vasilisa would actually consider you as a person she can comfortably see herself with if you were a gentlemen, perhaps? Of course, I am not telling you what to do, but I will not let you escape if you intend to hurt her. I believe her fear prevents her from saying anything about tonight, at least not when the Host had presented himself a little bit ago." Since the moon's light was shielded by her person, her eyes continued to glow it's feline turquoise glow in the darkness as she glanced at the man, regarding his entire appearance before asking, "You did feel his presence, yes?" Diali tried her best to continue whispering, but it was slightly difficult because she could still hear her accent behind the English words that came from her ruby petals.
Cane comforted Vasilisa and led her away. "Let me take you to your room Lady Vasilisa." He gripped her hand in his and pulled her towards the staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs
Anne stood, dumbfounded, for a second, before physically shaking her head. She was slightly shocked that he knew what she was doing. No one ever had, except those that had been around her since the beginning. 'Well, he is one of the most powerful vampires, idiot. And you weren't trying to hide. At least he assumed that, instead of something worse' She thought to herself, wondering whether now would be a good time to retire. Instead she decided to sit outside for a while, hoping that this would help her clear her head, which was still fuzzy from the conversation she had just had.
She nodded quietly and let Cane lead her. Her hand limp in his as she tried to shield her face from the others. She bit her lip so that she wouldn't scream as her stomach flopped about. She felt hollow almost as if Cane let go of her she would float away into nothingness. She was thankful that he help her, his hand feeling solid in hers.
Ciro glared at the woman before him, what right did she think to talk to him like this. "Of course I did you idiot. Now listen and listen well. I do not care what she thinks of me. I am her betrothed and I intend on marrying her whether she likes it or not. I will not be told off by the likes of you Miss nor will I be made a fool of." He clenched his fist to stop himself from smacking her across the face. "Now if you'll excuse me it's late and I intend to speak with her before she retires." His whole body felt as though he was on fire. He attempted to walk away going back towards the ball to find his room, he was not in the mood to be towed around by the girl before him.
Cane led her down the hallway, glancing at the doors until he found hers and turned to face her. "Do you need me to stand guard tonight?" He held both her hands in his, trying to reassure her of her safety with him
Anne was just getting comfortable on a bench outside when man stormed past her. Even when she wasn't trying, it was impossible not to pick up his anger filled thoughts. They worried her, as they seemed to be filled with anger to one woman. It seemed that he was also planning on visiting said woman, and for some reason the thought made her sick to her stomach. She stepped in front of the man, hoping to at least delay him. "Excuse me sir, I'm afraid I can't let you visit who you are planning to visit. Your thoughts seem far to angry for that." She put on a calm facade, but she knew she wasn't going to be as strong as his. She would not let him harm another vampire, or human, though, and she would be willing to take a beating for that. She squared up to him, despite her small site.
Diali, for some odd reason, liked how he stomped away and instead of wait to see him later, she trailed after him. She was, of course, not okay with the way he spoke to her, but she will deal with that later. In fact, it was just moments later when she found herself walking with him. "Well, we're headed in the same direction," she informed him, as if he'd care, but still. She walked along side him, heals and all, as she marvelously kept up with his speed. "What is your name?" she asked while tucking a strand of her ravenous hair behind her ear. She already knew it, but it was the least she could do - acting as if she didn't know. She honestly can not stop him from doing what he was going to do, she didn't like violence, the thought hurt her, but she was going to attempt to befriend him. His attitude was something that spiked her interest since he reminded her slightly of her father. Maybe she could figure out what made him so bitter, or at least that's what she convinced herself as she stayed beside him like a tick refusing to come off. It was just a moment later when a woman announced herself and approached the angry man altogether. Diali thought for a moment, whether she should stop with him, before she closed her eyes and shook her head. "I will see you tomorrow, good evening." With that she separated herself from him and continued on to her Quarters.
Ciro looked down at the girl who dared stop him. "Move out of my way little girl. I'm not in the mood." His voice was low almost a growl as he walked around her and continued on. He was growing annoyed by the woman beside him wondering why on earth she wouldn't leave him be. He decided to amuse her and answer her question as he walked towards Vasilisa's room. "Ciro Thomas. A pleasure I'm sure." He gave her his best smile as he looked down at her, knowing he would soon get rid of her, nearing Vasilisa's room.
Vasilisa attempted to smile but failed simply shaking her head as she spoke. "No it's fine. Oliver is inside and I've bothered you enough. Ciro should be over it by now. No need to worry." She squeezed his hands feeling slight relief before she quickly dropped them hearing Ciro's voice in the distance. "You should go. He'd be even angrier if he saw you outside of my room. I don't want him to cause you any trouble." She pushed on his chest gentle for him to go the other way, her eyes filled with worry as she looked at him.
Anne refused to give in. She quietly followed him, before realising something. She didn't particularly enjoy her other power, but it has it's uses. Like now, for instance. She started influencing this man's mood, trying to calm him down slightly before he could reach his goal. She found this power rather easy to use, and simply told her parents that she was going to bed when they asked, while instead following the duo.
Cane shook his head. "I won't leave knowing he could come back and hurt you again." His ears twitched as he heard Ciros voice down the hall. He motioned Vasilisa to the door behind her. "Please, go in your room and lock the door. Ill only keep watch until he goes away and make sure he won't come back."
Diali smiled softly while introducing herself. "Ciro, that's a rather interesting name, and it's a pleasure to meet you," she turned a corner with him and she could tell they were nearing his destination. Her smile faltered some, but it was all the while - still very kind. "My name is Diali-Lilia Ai." She was headed to her room, which was surprisingly, and very unintentionally, across from the door a man seemed to stand guard. Of course, Diali hadn't known, but she had hoped it wasn't. She never favored conflict, it brought too many unfortunate thoughts, and it caused her to frown. Before she even allowed herself to even think about it, she decided on saying something rather bold. "Mister Thomas, I have a question for you. If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?" With this question her soft, leafy green eyes peered at him rather curiously for an answer. He seemed like a wealthy man, and he was obviously a wealthy man, but there are things money can't buy.
Ciro felt as though someone had placed a blanket over his head, meaning he felt muffled almost sluggish and he didn't like. He didn't know which woman was doing this so he spun around quickly to stop them in their tracks. "Whoever is doing things to my head stop." He spoke through gritted teeth. Although with the girls powers his voice wasn't as sharp as it normally was. As he continued walking he came into view of Vasilisa's room but was interrupted by another of Diali's questions. He looked down at her and stopped walking. "If I could have anything it be you shutting your mouth." He would smile before he continued walking, knowing he didn't really give a real answer to her question.
Vasilisa looked at Cane her eyes filled with worry. "He'd kill you if he sees you outside my door." Her words were frantic as she looked down the hall hearing him yell which caused her to flinch. Before she could continue to protest a hand gripped her slender wrist through the door and pulled her in, coming face to face with Oliver. "How about instead of worrying about others you worry about yourself. You look absolutely dreadful." Vasilisa looked at herself in the mirror completely forgetting about her appearance. She nodded and was lead by Oliver to get cleaned up, growing too tired to protest.
Cane nodded at Oliver for dragging her into the room. "Lock the door, please Oliver." Cane turned around and stood in a guarded stance, waiting for Ciro. He wasn't getting to Vasilisa, not on his watch.
Oliver locked the door behind them before he ushered her over to the wash basin. Setting up a screen to give her complete privacy. When he got her situated he started to ready her pajamas setting them on the bed nicely while Vasilisa undressed behind the screen and stepped into the basin giving a soft sigh. Olivers lips went into a small smile as he flung a towel on top of the screen before dragging a chair over in front of the door. He knew Ciro well enough that he knew how hard it was to keep Crio out there and Vasilisa in the room.
He sat in the chair with a dagger in hand, smiling at the familiar weight in his hands. It was a present from Vasilisa for when she brought him in. It was a symbol of their trust she had told him, though he found those words silly at the time he firmly believed them now. The dagger was a handcrafted white oak with silver detailing, soaked in vervain for a 100 days and a 100 nights. Ever since she had given him the dagger he never stopped training but was unaware of the true power of the stake till one day Vasilisa challenged him. He accidentally deeply scrapped her chest with the dagger leaving her on the in blinding hot pain. With this in his thoughts he knew even if her couldn't get Ciro's chest just one scratch would leave him in immense pain.
Vasilisa sat in the basin, leaning down so the water was up to her nose as she sat there curled up into a ball after she smelled vervain in the air knowing that Oliver had his dagger out. She was terrified of someone getting hurt because of her, flinching at the sound of Oliver dragging a chair over to the door. Shutting her eyes and letting the water fill her ears so that everything became muffled. Silent sobs racking her chest as she bit her lip, knowing the likely hood of what is to come.
Ciro approached the door to find Cane standing in front of it. He immediately frowned as he crossed his arms in front of his chest. "And why might you be in front on my fiance's door Sir? You know you are nothing but a play thing for Vasilisa. Once she's bored with you she'll move on to the next just like she always does." Ciro smirked at his comment though fire blazed behind his eyes. One of the girls still messing with his mind, as he struggled to push over her mental block.
Her steps faltered some, and she glanced in the man's direction, scrutinizing him with her eyes before settling with a silent reply. When she neared her room, she noticed that her room was a little ways diagonal from Vasilisa's. At least a door ahead and the rooms were rather large inside; a key was in her door knob, a simple red ribbon dangling from its ring as she unlocked the door and turned around to formally say, "Good night," but the words never left her lips. Quietly she stepped in her room and closed the door behind her with a gentle click. Once inside Diali didn't hesitate in unlocking her suitcases that rested atop the bed, plucking a silk red night gown that rested at the very top like she had packed. With that, she carefully unbuttoned her qipao cheongsam dress, letting it fall from her body before she threw her night wear over top. Comfortable and much better, she picked up the dress from the ground, folding it carefully before she shut it inside the case itself. She then went to the next case, quickly opening it in order to grab a novel from home. She's probably reread it a million times, but it was worth it. All that was left was the shoes and she slid them off as her feet met the feeling of very soft, plush white carpet beneath her toes.
When she was done she took a look around. In the middle of the room was a Queen Sized bed with silvery silk sheets underneath a cotton comforter with onyx and silvery embroidery woven through its white cloth. The room was large, a balcony just beside her bed, and indoor pluming was installed. Looking near the door, she saw a walk in closet was on the other side of the bed. It wasn't large, but it was big enough for one or two people to enter. Across from her bed was a vanity and a dresser. Diali placed her cases atop the dresser before crawling onto the queen sized mattress with her book in hand. Although it was dark, the door unlocked with her bedroom key resting on the nightstand beside her, she still felt considerably lonely. For the first time, Diali actually felt cold in over eight decades.
Cane stared the man down, his gaze on the edge of completely wiping the man in front of him from existence. "Vasilisa is taking the rest of the night off. You'd do well to leave her alone, because I'd hate to ruin the hosts halls with screams and blood." This man knew nothing about him, and his power coiled in response, waiting to be unleashed.
Ciro looked at the man and laughed. "Are you threatening me?" He couldn't believe this man. Only knowing Vasilisa for a day and now he's protecting her. In all honesty he found the whole ordeal rather amusing. "How well do you even know Vasilisa Sir? I mean I'm sure you only met her today."
As soon as Vasilisa heard voices outside of the room she shot up and quickly dried off, throwing on her white silk nightgown and a simple silk robe before walking over to the door. As she went to reach for the knob a hand pulled her back. "Don't do something stupid Vasilisa. He already hurt you once don't let him hurt you again." He knew he didn't have as much power as her and he wasn't going to fight her. Vasilisa stood there shaking her head as she watched the door. "I don't want someone to get hurt even if it's Ciro." Oliver tried to calm her down and move her away from the door but she wouldn't budge.
