Silence. Absolute silence. Nothing stirred in the plight of those few hours of pure peace and silence. It was almost eery, almost like an apocalypse of the world where not a living soul existed and only the purity of the earth existed with itself. She liked it that way. She liked the earth, the trees, the rivers without the corrupted nature of humans. Perhaps she was a pessimist...as most considered her, anyone who she actually told anyway. Most did not share her world view wholeheartedly and most perceived her as a typical troubled teenager. Maybe she was, but she fiercely disagreed to confine to such ideas.

A deep sigh escaped the girl as the sharp jingle of chirping birds perched on the tree branches that artistically seemed to drape outside of her window, hit her ears with an impact. She was sprawled on her white, simple bed in the same manner her blankets were messily thrown around her like mountainous lumps of cotton. In her still half-asleep state, she hugged her pillow that her head rested tighter as if in protest to getting up from the warmth and comfort that the bed provided her. Elizabeth was never one not to seize the day however. "Carpe Diem" as they said. With another sigh of protest coming from the little devil on her left shoulder, she swam through and out of her bed of linen and slide out of the elevated platform and landed as her feet touched the cold hardwood floor of her bedroom. The girl stepped to her window and pushed the glass panes apart, a rush of cool, crisp morning air hits her in the face. It was like a shot of espresso for her, much better than the heavily polluted air of the city she usually breathed in every day. Though, coffee can't be replaced...plus, it was always her "cup of tea". She rushed to her bathroom to carry out her regular morning routine. She swung the door of her bathroom open. She now wore a towel on her head and a simple tank top and shorts, not exactly the gaudy attire that her parents wore or very much the appropriate entire for a cold morning, but she didn't mind. Elizabeth rushed down the stairs and into the desolate kitchen, her parents were still sleeping, as expected, still tired from their late night gatherings and way too fancy and way too overpriced wine tastings. Very typical. She brewed and poured herself a cup of coffee into her cow shaped mug. Hilarious in her opinion. She was odd to most but she didn't exactly allow that side of her to show much very often at school. She stepped out of the glass panes doors of the summer lake house with her mug in hand, nothing more satisfying than drinking a warm beverage in the freezing cold morning. She stepped out onto the grass with bare feet, it was almost lethargic to her, the morning dew that hung from the individual grass blades and seemed to spray on to her feet and ankles as she took every step. She only then noticed the friendly furball that sauntered next to her with upturned lips that seemed to smile at her, her large St. Bernese dog. She couldn't help but have a small smile back to the friendly beast as she gently smoothed the fur on his head before again turning to face what was ahead of her. She made her way slowly to the wooden dock that jutted out over a small but significant section of the lake. Reaching the end of the dock she took a sip of coffee as she lifted her vibrant blue eyes to the surrounding houses that ran along the perimeter of the lake. She glanced down briefly to the dog that had followed her before resuming to observe the quiet scenery of the houses. "Ever wonder who lives in those houses, Bearie?" She asked the fluffy creature with a soft, gentle but curious tone. Her parents had several summer houses, and she had not spent many summers at this particular house, so she knew almost nothing of the other people who had lived there. Perhaps only elderly people...most likely. She would have very much liked to meet people around the area, if she weren't as shy as she was or if she found any people of her age that would put up with her world views and odd likings.

(I'm so sorry this took so long everyone! Thanks for sticking around if you choose to do so.)

The morning started out so well... The sound of footsteps in the hall weren't there, the usual chaotic cheer wasn't there, it was so perfect... "KADYN!" Of course nothing gold could stay... The girl rocked up to a sitting position at her mother's obnoxious call "WHAT?!" She shouted right back. "TOAST OR MUFFINS?!" Kadyn lifted a pillow and slammed it to her face. Ugh... "Toast, mom." She called with less force. Swinging her feet over the edge of her much to comfortable bed. It was sad to part from the violet spread, but it must be done.

Looking out her window, she examined all of the houses on the lake shore. What were they like? Peaceful? Quiet? She could only wish. She grabbed her running clothes, pulling on the black and blue attire and matching sneakers before running downstairs. There were her parents, talking as loud as they possibly could about absolutely nothing. The kitchen was a mess already and they hadn't been there for more than a day... Grabbing her toast, she ran before they could ask too many questions. God knows how long that conversation would last... Putting in her earbuds, she set off down the road around the houses

|Delilah Muniere|

The world was a waking giant, rumbling in its audacity and strolling across the expansive lands. All around her, the Earth seemed to rouse from its hibernation and resume its normal course once more and Delilah had always known it to be loud but never in her life had she pictured it to be quiet. The very foundation of the atmosphere seemed to hold its breath as if brooding its next action and Delilah felt herself succumb to the peaceful surroundings as if they were an extended limb of her own, closing her eyes if only for a brief second in order to breathe and just be. She found solace in the symmetry of such a place, seeking comfort from what others were want to provide her with, Delilah had abandoned her luggage in order to survey the area and had been pleasantly surprised. To any outsider glancing at her facial expressions, she would appear robotic as if she were mechanical and needed to be oiled up constantly but inside of her mind was the beginnings of a cosmic storm which crashed and clanged to disrupt the tranquil nature of this beautiful environment. Delilah was unsure if she wanted it to be loud once more.

Okay, maybe tonight would be different. A new bed, new house, new scenery. Why wouldn't everything else be new and different too? That's what Matt had told himself last night, but no such luck. This morning he woke up on the floor after having a nightmare, just like every other night. He groaned and stood up, hoping his mother hadn't heard him fall. The most annoying part was, he couldn't remember most of the nightmare. If he could only figure out why he woke up on the floor with his bed a disaster, maybe he could stop it. He rubbed his face then ran his hand through his hair. He fixed the tangled sheets on his bed and got dressed. When he went downstairs and saw his mother already making breakfast. She glanced at him, concern written all over her face. "How did you sleep, honey?" She asked, though it seemed as if she already knew. "I slept fine. How about you?" He said casually. "I'm fine, honey. Maybe you should take a quick walk by the lake." She suggested, turning back to her cooking. Matt shrugged and went out the back door. He made his way to the lake, staring down at the ground in thought.

There were people. There were people at the lake. Delilah had neglected to acknowledge this. She assumed that this would be a populated area due to the oncoming humidity of Summer but she hadn't calculated the possibilities of someone arriving early at the destination, Delilah cautiously approached the enclosure before settling down in the midst of a patch of wildflowers which jutted outwards from the ground. The lake was shimmering due to the Sun which glared down upon the Earth, casting its rays over everything and bringing a warm sensation to those present. Nature was unpredictable which was terrifying to Delilah but that hadn't meant she would not be able to appreciate the sheer beauty it brought alongside it, her eyes trained on a squirrel who seemed to be disinterested in her presence whilst eating what looked to be a rotten fruit of some sort..Delilah crinkled her nose at the pungent and bittersweet smell which wafted around her before leaning back slightly to avoid any further nausea.

KAEDE ALLISON FLETCHER

The loud, sharp sound of a string being pulled on her electric guitar and being magnified through an amp jolted Kaede out of her slumber. It was an alarming way to wake, and after the surprise had faded away, the blonde teenager realised she must have dozed off last night while strumming. Releasing a drowsy groan, the teenager set the Gibson aside and straightened up, sliding off of her bed. Initially she had been worried whether or not the same sound that had woken her had woken everyone else, but judging by the chatter between her parents downstairs, they had been awake for some time now.

The eighteen-year old was never one to sacrifice too much time to getting dressed in the morning, and settled for pulling on a pair of ripped tights, dark denim shorts and a hoodie with 'Misfits' printed across the chest in bold print.

Morning greetings between herself and her parents were exchanged as usual, and after informing them that she planned on exploring the area a bit more, Kaede left the house with a slice of toast in hand. The soles of her obsidian-hued combat boots collided with gravel as she walked down the short drive, and onto the grass towards the direction of the lake itself.

Azaelia wished that the world would wake already. The night had seemed to stretch on for eternity. It was as if the world had decided that it wanted to sleep a while longer. As if it couldn't be bothered with worrying over things as wordly as time on a summer day as lazy as this one. Even the warmth was slow to creep back into the world: it still hadn't at seven in the morning.

She shivered in her flimsy nightgown even with Poe curled up on her lap. He'd been out on raven business the entire night, probably exploring the new area that was most decidedly not Wales, and now the raven slept peacefully in her arms.

The thought of Wales made Azaelia ache. Not just her heart but her whole body. The pain was so intense that the she flinched, scraping her ankles on the rough bark of the tree. Poe stirred but he was too tired to squawk his objections.

Her mother and father had been gracious enough to stay for dinner last night but that just made Azaelia more homesick. Maybe if they had left, she'd be comparing this strange new world to Wales because it really was a little like Wales with its crisp air and crystal skies. Maybe she would've been able to sleep in her bed and not have to retreat to a pine tree all night.

She sighed, finally opening her eyes. Bars of sunlight dusted across her face and through the branches and pine needles Azaelia could see slivers of the lake. Sunlight danced on its pure surface. And... were those people? Yes, she could see them clearly now after blinking a few times.

Azaelia's heart jumped. She didn't think anyone would be out this early let alone people her age. Or at least they looked her age. Her eyes widened, a smile spreading across her lips. "Poe look, they're like River and Will." she said softly, pointing to the kids at the lake. As she expected, he ignored her. "Fine but I'm going down there."

This time Poe did squawk as she scooped him up and shimmied down the tree with the deftness of a squirrel.

Poe pecked at her hand until she let him go so that he could rest on her shoulder. Azaelia crossed her arms tightly around her chest feeling naked with Poe not there. She lowered her head so that her hair covered the purple bruises under her eyes.

"Hello." she called to no one in particular.

Xavier groaned loudly as his eyes opened dully. The bright sun rasy that peaked through blinds of his window was always a pain for him. He sighed, remembering that maybe today would be a lot better than what it had been for him a few days ago. He threw the duvet off of his body, already shivering after he had done so. Xavier decided he might as we'll do for a walk now and go and explore, slipping on some black, skinny jeans and a sweatshirt, including some sneakers of course.

It seemed his father...Wow, he still hasn't gotten used to that yet. Xavier shook his head, a light smile spreading across his lips. He continued in his mind, it seemed his father had not woken up yet. He decided to write him a little note:

Hey Thomas

Going for a walk

X

Xavier thought if he should write it again, although it did seem very formal. He wasn't sure what he should even call him yet, since He shook his head again, opening the door and walking out with his hands in his pocket. He quickly opened the door again, grabbing his skateboard and walking back out again. Xavier hadn't really had a chance to skate that much when he was with his adopted parents, but it was a time to change. He slid the board down, jumping on it as he skated on the pathway towards the lake. Xavier had taken out a cigarettes and lit it, watching as the sun rose up.

Kadyn stopped running after her 4 mile lap around the houses, stretching at the beginning of the path to the lake. What a pretty place... She turned, sprinting down that way. A nice run through the water would be a good cool down... Literally. It was a brisk morning, after all. Little did she know about all the people already there with the same idea.

As she approached the water, she knelt at the edge to get some in her hands and splashed it on her face. The chill of the water came as a welcomed shock to the system. That was just what the doctor ordered. She glanced across the serine water. She raised an eyebrow at the figures she saw at various points at its edge. How nice... As long as they didn't make a scene, she'd be fine with them

(Before anyone says it, I am apologizing for my impatience. That being said, Let's have a good time.)

Elliott stepped past the threshold and took in the sight of the entire house. He was so close to the water, he could literally taste the sea on the air. He'd loved coming here as a kid, but he was a man now. Everything was still the same, yet so different. He dropped his bags on the ottoman in the corner, glad to have some use for the horrible green thing. "Home sweet home." he mumbled, turning and walking right back out.

The street was dim, since the sun hadn't really made it's place in the sky. Elliott preferred this time of day over the others--it was a time to contemplate things. Hitting the sidewalk, Elliott pushed his hands in his pockets and started strolling. He caught a movement in the corner of his eye, seeing a young man lighting a cigarette. The English friendliness got the better of him and he made his way to the figure--on a skateboard, no less. "Morning!" he called out, smirking boyishly. "You live here, right? It'd be nice to know someone here." he started, scolding himself internally for sounding so British.

@Delax

Xavier's eyebrows perked up as he heard a voice speaking to him, taking out his cigarette and twirling it between his fingers. He offered the man an amused smirk, not sure if he should be surprised by his British accent. He nodded slowly, taking a drag from his cigarette and blowing the smoke away from his neighbour's face. "Morning." Xavier said, not even sure how to make a conversation with a stranger anymore. He bit his lip, looking into the mans eyes. "Accent?" He asked, his voice seeming a little high as he wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a question or a statement. Xavier picked up his board as he leaned it again this leg, looking at the man with a smug smile.

When Matt reached the lake, he saw a few other teens scattered around. One of the girls had a raven on her shoulder, which was odd. She said 'hello', but he couldn't tell who she was talking to. Trying to be friendly, he went over and smiled. "Hello, I'm Matt." He said, wincing inwardly. It certainly wasn't the most intelligent way to start a conversation. Then again, most people wouldn't call him intelligent when they first saw him. He wished he could go curl up in a tree, but his mother expected him to keep being friendly. He would do anything to make his mother happy, so he would be friendly. Even if it was faked.

"I could say the same thing." Elliott quickly retorted, raising an eyebrow. Whoever this was, he was quick for the draw. "I'm Elliott, and i I'm staying alonejust down the way. " he watched the way the smoke danced in the ai .and was intrigued. "Care for a tag along?" He asked, not really wanting to be alone at the moment.

Xavier flashed a sheepish smirk at the man, biting his lip as he looked down at his shoes. He nodded, realising that most people here just wanted to relax and get in the sun. He smiled, looking up into his eyes. "Sure." Xavier said simply, tilting his head in the direction he was going to. He took another drag of his cigerette and let his board drop. "So, what goes on around here?" He asked, honestly curious.

"So you're new too..." Elliott groaned. A part of him was actually a little relieved though. That meant they could easily get to know each other. 'Who knows?' He mentally inquired, pulling his beanie lower. "I have no clue. But, I'm sure we can find something." He stated, watching the younger man roll. "What's your name, bloke? Its rude to just call you...well...bloke." He added, trying to be a little coy.

Kai did not want to get out of bed. It's not that he was still sleepy or that the bed was particularly comfortable in any way. It was just so warm. He had at least four blankets piled on top of him, and was wearing long socks, flannel pajama pants, and a sweatshirt. His uncle had said he was crazy when he'd asked for at least this much on his third night here, after two nights of freezing his butt off in his sleep. He couldn't help it; the nights in Hawaii were warm enough that he could have only sheets on his bed, sleep in his boxers, and keep the window open all the while.

He groaned at the thought of leaving his makeshift cocoon of warmth. Kai just knew he'd be cold as soon as he left it, but the light of day filtering through his window and the smell of Loco Moco coming from the kitchen had him sliding out of his shell. Immediately, he was affronted by the cool morning air that had lingered inside since his uncle always kept the windows and sliding doors open.

He got ready for the day rather quickly, throwing on a loose sweater and some jeans before he made his way downstairs. He ate his breakfast of white rice, gravy, and roast beef---which probably seemed more like dinner to some, but was a slive of home, for Kai---like a starved bear. His Uncle Carlos had left a note on the counter stating that he'd gone to the restaurant early and was giving Kai the day off to explore the town. Kai smiled and went to brush his teeth and get his shoes.

He hadn't been able to see much of the lake yet. Ever since he'd come here, he'd been swamped with helping his uncle open his new restaurant, a copy of what they had back home in Hilo. Needless to say, the young Filipino-Hawaiian was eager to start the day, despite the fact that the minute he stepped out the front door he shivered at the chilly morning air. Pretty soon, Kai was wandering slowly past his home for the summer and down the street without a clue as to where he was going and not a care in the world.

KAEDE ALLISON FLETCHER

Kaede swallowed the last of her toast as she reached the lake, pale-blue hues glancing towards the rising sun. She didn't usually get up this early, but figured it would be a waste to sleep in very late when her parents had paid to bring her along with them here.

It was only then that she noticed the two other male teenagers, whom appeared to be somewhere around a similar age to herself. A female was there too, but a bit further off. Making the approach was always the awkward part for the blonde, which she mused over with an inward cringe. But, the worst that could happen was being brushed off, she supposed.

"Hey - you're both staying at the lake too?" questioned the blonde, offering an amiable twitch of her lips.

Kadyn looked to her right. Two guys and a girl were making decent attempts at socializing and meeting. Turning off her music, she made her approach. They seemed nice enough... "Hello" she waved kindly. "You guys must be on the lake as well."

Xavier chuckled slightly at the other males answer. It seemed a lot of new people here were new here as well. He was about to answer the male as he suddenly skidded his board as a blonde girl came in front of them. He tried to balance his feet so that he wouldn't bump into the girl. Xavier saw another girl walking over. It seemed that his shoulders slumped slightly as he wasn't really good with crowds. He mumbled slightly, offering a smile to the new people. "Hi."

"Chick magnet..." Elliott mumbled as the two girls came rolling in. "Hello ladies.". He said giving them a smile. "Didn't expect to make this many lake buddies.". He held his hand out to the blond, who approached them first. "I love your look, dude. How about we find a spot and make introductions, huh?" He suggested.

A pair of piercing light brown orbs opened as the bright sunlight hit Aiden's chiseled face. He groaned as he got out of bed, stretching his arms and yawning loudly. He stood up and threw on black tee and dark jeans before heading downstairs in the quaint house. He remembered his family had told him that they were going to buy groceries that day and he couldn't help but smile at his freedom. He shot his parents a text saying that he was going out, but didn't specify where, for even he didn't know where he was going.

Aiden grabbed his faithful skateboard that was leaning against the garage wall and quickly hopped on it, smoothly gliding his way down the road. He had been skateboarding since he was a little boy, so it felt almost as natural to him as running. He closed his light eyes, reveling in the feeling of the wind as it rippled his dark hair and the warmth of the sun against his light skin. He opened his eyes and scanned his surroundings, noticing the other houses along the road. He wondered what kind of people inhabited this neighborhood but shrugged at the thought of it. Although it would be nice to make new friends, he was only here for the summer and he enjoyed his peaceful independence.

Up ahead, he noticed that the lake had come into view, practically sparkling like diamonds underneath the sunlight. After looking closer, he spotted a ragged cluster of young figures talking to each other by the water and narrowed his eyes to observe them.

Kadyn looked at the more soft spoken male. He seemed kind... Just shy. She looked him over carefully. "Didn't mean to interrupt your conversation... Nice to meet you, I'm Kadyn. Kadyn Avanti. What's your name?" She offered a kind smile and a hand. She hoped she wasn't being awkward... She's never been good with people her own age.

Soon enough, Kai found himself strolling towards the lakeside. He could just make out a group of people huddled together a little ways off. They all seemed to be around his age, if not a little bit older, but the boy remained unperturbed. Before he could see what was going on down there, he notced another boy with short brown hair and a skateboard also watching the group. With an easy smile and a shake of his fist, thumb and pinky sticking out to either side, he called out to the other male, oblivious to his disposition. "Aloha, man. How's it going?"

@Semblance

A voice broke the air, disturbing him from his thoughts, and he almost fell off of his skateboard as a result. Aiden's piercing brown eyes whipped around to face the source of the voice and spotted a boy strolling along the rode towards the lakeside. He had two seconds to decide whether he wanted to stop and talk or go on with his ride before he skateboarded into the distance. Sighing, he figured it would be rude to ignore the boy, so he skidded to a stop and hopped off of his skateboard. Aiden turned to face the boy and managed a small smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Good. You live around here?" he asked curtly as he started to walk towards the water.
