Fandom A Rose And A Thorn (Shadow x Amy)

"You are most welcome, Amy...I didn't think it would be right if I started up again." Shadow responded as he rubbed the pink hedgehog's cheek slowly.

Vex nodded and tapped his foot, thinking of the last place he saw the embassy. "Last time I saw it, it was close to the center of the city. If I had Burst, we could make it there in time."

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy rubbed up against Shadow again, not hard, but for the feeling of closeness that it gave her to be so close to him. He took away the feelings of loneliness, and even though there was an uncomfortable nagging doubt there, she was glad he wasn't taking advantage of it, "I... I'll work it out, Shadow," she told him, "I promise. I just don't want anybody to get hurt, that's all..."

"Ah. So... we go through the business district," Blaze replied, "There will be less people at this time of night, anyway..." Of course there would be people still, because money never slept - but less people.

"I know.....I know....right now, I just want you.....to be alright. I will protect you." Shadow said quietly and leaned closer to Amy.

"Right, it would have to be repaired by now. I don't travel to city that often....but I remember seeing it during a mission. A Death Egg Robot was in the way there. It looked....much more menacing too." Vex said quietly, "Even though I was above it."

 

[Breech Loader]

For now, Amy was just lying still next to Shadow. Well, not really next to him. It was amusing, because it was cramped in the limo, and all they had to lie on was the narrow seat. Shadow, with his comforting weight, was right on top of her.

"Hmmm." Blaze entered a fast jog, and it wasn't long before they were jogging through the business district. She'd never actually been in this area before, and despite herself, was interested. Maybe it was all the bright signs and neon lighting.

Shadow grinned and nudged Amy again. "Ms. Rose....there are three words...and you have to guess them." He said quietly.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze skidded to a halt with Vex next to her. She had just spotted a limo - rather out of place - with its door open. She moved over to just check and close the door - after all, anybody could just climb in and drive it away...

Amy was just touching her nose to Shadow's, "I... I..."

"OH BY SOL!!!!"

Amy sat up against Shadow sharply - which caused a sudden shift in positions with Shadow that brought out another scream, "OH BY CHAOS!!!" Blaze was just standing there screaming a bit as she stared at Shadow right on top of Amy, who was in nothing but a pair of six-inch stilettos, clawing about for her dress and trying to cover her front with it and screaming as well.

"OH BY SOL!"

"OH BY CHAOS!"

"AMY!"

"BLAZE!"

"WHAT IN SOL'S NAME ARE YOU DOING?!"

"CLOSE THE DOOR! CLOSE THE DOOR!"

"I'M TRYING! I'M TRYING!!!" She couldn't do it; she was practically paralysed with shock as Amy's cheeks were turning as red as her dress.

Shadow turned to Blaze and blushed heavily as he tried to sit up and move Amy slowly as he tried to close the door quickly but with the limited space, it was hard to do so.

Vex turned to Blaze then noticed Shadow and Amy, blushing almost to the point where his nose started to bleed. He quickly turned away as he tried to get the image of what could've been out of his head. Although, it gave him an idea. I thought....Amy loved Sonic. When I tell him this....if I find him... He mentally told himself as a small grin started to form but it dropped, But.....would it have Blaze not trust me? It's a risk....that's the highest risk. The only one.

 

[Breech Loader]

"AMY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"I... I... WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?! CLOSE THE DOOR!"

"Oh by Sol, Amy!" Blaze couldn't seem to close her mouth or move, "But... but... with Shadow?!"

Amy looked close to crying with embarrassment. Their shouting was drawing attention, there was already some strange jackal right behind the purple feline, grinning with his smart-phone in hand, ready to take a photo - if he hadn't done so already, "Just close the door!"

"And Shadow!" Blaze turned to the dark hedgehog as he was trying to reach for his own clothes, "What are you... what... Why are you.."

The door finally slammed, leaving Blaze staring at the dark window, her cheeks bright red. She wasn't even looking at Vex.

In the limo, Amy pushed Shadow off her. She was clawing about for her dress and pulling it onto her sticky, sweaty body, feeling utterly humiliated. She couldn't find anything else and somehow she couldn't meet Shadow's eyes either. But she managed to open the door again, staggering out of the limo, with her dress creased - not even zipped at the back - and her hair rumpled and her makeup smeared and with it just generally obvious, "Blaze, I..."

"Don't say a word, Amy! Not another word!"

Shadow stayed in the limo as he dressed himself. He sighed and looked out at Amy, Blaze, and the jackal. As he finished dressing, he got out of the limo and looked at Blaze. "I-Its.....oh, chaos...." He muttered. He decided to stop talking.

Vex glared at Shadow then put his phone away quickly. He shook his head. "That's.....Shadow...." He muttered as he watched him, "But why is he with Any?"

 

[Breech Loader]

"Not because either of them are thinking rationally, I'll tell you that!" Blaze replied without looking at Vex. She was clearly furious. Shadow was as messed-up as Amy. He was wearing his trousers but her sharp eye could see his underpants still on the floor of the limo from the rush, "I should make you tell Sonic, right now!"

Well, that settled it. Blaze practically wanted Sonic to know.

"Oh, please don't! He doesn't even like me!"

"This has nothing to do with how he feels about you, Amy! It has to do with you climbing out of the back of a limousine in the business district, looking like a... like a..." the prim and proper Blaze couldn't finish that one, "You're just 18!" she turned to Shadow, wagging her finger, her tail lashing furiously, "She's just 18! You ought to be ashamed of yourself, Shadow!"

Shadow glared at Blaze, his own anger starting to rise. "Listen here and listen well. This was Sonic's idea. He was supposed to go on a date with Amy but he was being too cowardly and then he asked me. It's his own fault, really. He caused this mess....if he realizes that he wants Amy to love him, it's too late. He can't love her." He said to the princess.

Vex thought about what Shadow said then he shook his head. "No....that doesn't seem right....Sonic wouldn't do something like." He muttered as he crossed his arms.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Oh, right, so it was Sonic's idea. I suppose also it was Sonic who took control of your hormones and put your brain in your-" Blaze caught herself again, "I don't care if Sonic loves Amy or not! How dare you take advantage of her like this!"

"Blaze, I'm 18!" Amy pleaded, "I'm mature enough to choose for myself!"

"Legally, yes! But you're not supposed to have your first foray all over the back seat of a Cadillac One! Does that sound 'mature' to you?" Blaze took a deep breath. Amy was still bright red, "Let me guess - that wasn't your 'first' tonight," she glared at Shadow again, "Are you going to make any more excuses? Or do I have to point out that you're also a murderer who's capable of destroying whole cities. Does Amy find that attractive? Or intimidating?"

"I was not taking advantage of Amy! I would never do that to her! And what do you mean, I'm a murderer?" Shadow asked, confused yet still angry, "I may have power but why would I use that now?"


Vex started to twitch lightly as the Phantom Ruby started to hum, glowing dimly. The Jackal glanced at the gem and shook his head. Stay.....calm....don't get too overworked. I don't want the anger to- you know what? Maybe Blaze will allow this. He thought.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I did not say you would! I'm asking if you thought if Amy thought you would!" Blaze snapped at Shadow, "Did you even consider that her even knowing of your powers might cloud her judgement?! You are the most immature person I've ever met!"

"Blaze, I know what I'm doing!" Amy pleaded again even as she tried to hold the front of her unzipped dress up.

"And you, Amy, are the second most immature!" Blaze replied, "I'm taking you home right now! You're not spending another moment of tonight with Shadow!"

"You are not, taking Amy home." Shadow said getting in front of the pink hedgehog, "I'd never use my powers to manipulate someone...."

Vex uncrossed his arms as the Phantom Ruby hummed a little louder. "I think....that unfortunately, we would have to fight Shadow...." He said to Blaze, "But I wish it wouldn't be like this."

 

[Breech Loader]

"Oh, so I'm not taking Amy home?" Blaze's eyes narrowed, "Do you think I'm going to hurt her, Shadow? Amy is my friend, and I want to protect her. Listen to yourself. You are dangerous. You're a danger to your friends as much as your foes and you're not seeing Amy again until you convince me otherwise," she leant in without even a scrap of fear, and they were almost nose to nose, "Or do you intend to get what you want by force?"

"Shadow, Blaze, please!" Amy tried to push past Shadow, "I don't want you two to fight!"

Shadow glanced at Amy then stared back at Blaze. He sighed and backed away. "Fine...." He muttered, "Take her home..." He crossed his arms, not liking the decision but he didn't want to fight in front of Amy.

Vex seemed amused at how quickly the black hedgehog backed down. He scratched his ear, knowing it wasn't Blaze's status but it was Shadow's love for Amy. So he does love Amy....but Blaze doesn't believe it. Not like I would either.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze calmed down, and nodded at Shadow, "Good choice," she told him softly. It was not entirely that Blaze didn't believe Shadow cared about Amy. She knew he could care very deeply. But she was concerned about his judgement, his maturity. And she knew Amy was smart - but Amy had also - just this morning - been in love with Sonic. Or what she considered love. She wasn't sure that Amy knew what she was doing. She stepped behind Amy, and zipped up her dress. Then she reached into the limo and picked up Amy's underwear, holding them up in front of Shadow with a look of disgust. Her first time in the back seat of a car... ugh...

"We are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions, Shadow," she told him sternly, "If you blame others for your mistakes, you make yourself their property. If you want to be more than the mindless weapon you were created as; if you want to embrace the potential to care and be cared for, you have to accept responsibility as much as any living, sentient being does. Or you will remain a beast and a slave."

She took Amy's hand firmly.

Shadow flinched as he was classified as an android. He knew it was true but he'd rather forget about the past and keep focusing on the now. "Right...." He mustered.

Vex looked over at Blaze. "Guess I'll just tag along then...." He muttered, "Right?" The jackal seemed unsure of the Princess's decisions but he trusted her.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze nodded again, a modicum of respect returning to her eyes. She was equally relieved that Shadow didn't want to fight, and was capable of seeing sense. She would have fought him, if it meant keeping Amy safe - but if he had fought, it seriously worried her that he might become violent over such a thing. She walked away with Amy just the same, pulling the pink hedgehog along.

Amy wasn't really fighting Blaze, just reluctant to leave. She looked back at Shadow with a little smile and a wave goodnight. She was limping slightly.

"Yes, I suppose for now..." Blaze told Vex.

Shadow waved back at Amy and smiled a little. He moved his hand and closed it lightly. He sighed and closed his eyes.

Vex nodded then glanced behind to look at Shadow. "That hedgehog...." He muttered the shook his head as he continued to to followed Blaze.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Shadow is a good guy... but he's dangerous," Blaze replied, holding on to Amy, who felt tired, "He may look like an adult but he's only been awake for seven years. He's..."

"He's not crazy," Amy insisted.

"But he's not normal," Blaze replied, "He doesn't understand things because he hasn't been exposed to them in a normal way. I know he's trying, Amy, but he's a danger to himself as much as anybody else and I just... feel like you might regret all of this..."

Amy didn't agree or disagree with that statement. She just kept walking, "Who's this guy anyway?" she asked.

"Vex? He's just helping me find you guys," Blaze replied.

"You don't remember me? I was the new recruit that joined you guys when we were fighting Eggman in that war." Vex responded to Amy, grinning a little.

Shadow watched them leave then he climbed back into the limo, looking around. He sighed and waited for the chauffeur to get back.

 

[Breech Loader]

"You... you were?" Amy's eyes widened, "Oh! Vex!" she smiled, "I wondered where you'd gone to. I'm sorry... I guess it was just such a frantic couple of days. You helped us break out Sonic!"

"I think Sonic is going to be as concerned about all of this as I am," Blaze told her.

"Why would he care?" Amy asked, "He doesn't love me. Please! I just want to work this out myself. In my own head. If you're right and I'm making a mistake... then he just doesn't need to know. It would just be so embarassing..."

"Fine," Blaze sighed, "But you're not to see Shadow until you have gotten this straight," Amy pouted, "I'm just trying to look out for you. Where is Sonic, anyway? I need to get back to my dimension..."

"He's at his shack on the beach, tonight," Amy replied, "Please don't tell him!"

"I won't," Blaze told her, "I'm taking you home and we're talking this over. But you still should..."

Vex continued to followed after them, the Phantom Ruby still humming faintly. He shook his head, wondering where the fox was. "I'll be right back.......I might have an idea where Knuckles. Blaze....I'll be alright." He said to her as he started to run out in the direction of the beach.

Shadow had returned home thanks to the chauffeur and gave him a little extra from the card. He knew that this was probably a bad time but he wanted to make sure Amy was alright. He stopped to think about it for a second.
