"I....would like another date with you as well. I was thinking of going on another actually but I wanted to know how you would react to it." Shadow said quietly.

"I'm guessing....from what you told me.....is that there is someone in your dimension that is like Eggman. Right?" Vex asked, looking down at her.

 

[Breech Loader]

"This was really nice, but it wasn't what I'd call a... first date, you know?" Amy asked, "Like, this would be third-date location material, only it's been a first date, only it isn't really a date because I was expecting Sonic..." she giggled and cuddled into Shadow a little, "Maybe we could go somewhere... I don't know... uncomplicated..."

"His name is Doctor Eggman Nega," Blaze frowned, "A brilliant inventor. And a scumbag, might I add. His actions badly distorted the Sol Dimension - it almost led to the destruction of it."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Right.....where we could go be....alone, correct?" Shadow asked, unsure of what Amy's intentions were but wanted to give her a night to remember.


"Hmm.....he sounds formidable....but can't be any better than what Eggman is. Knuckles told me this once but Eggman teamed up with his past self to disrupt time and space. I think he said you were there. Oh, how are you keeping up?" Vex asked, continuing to fly towards the city.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Alone? I don't know..." Amy blushed at the implications of what she'd said. She liked Shadow, but she was pretty sure she wasn't ready for any of that... She'd just been kind of silly tonight, "Maybe just somewhere... nice. Peaceful. Somewhere we can just talk, and not worry about waiters, or tables, or bills. Not fourth-date alone. Just... somewhere else."

"I'm fine," Blaze replied, "And Eggman Nega isn't the issue this time, unfortunately," she added, "Although I don't doubt he'll try taking advantage of the situation while I'm away."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Well....we can finish our wine and leave this place. Our limo is still outside, waiting for our next location. I can pay because it so happens that our check has arrived at our table." Shadow said quietly to Amy, "And....how about a park?"


The Jackal nodded and continued heading towards the city. Her speed is impressive. She might be able to match Sonic.... though I need to make sure and see for myself. Wait what am I thinking?! He thought then scowled.

 

[Breech Loader]

"The park would be nice sometime," Amy agreed, "Wait, our next location? Right now?" she laughed, "I thought it was just the resturaunt tonight..." Maybe she'd just confused what he was saying, as the song came to an end and they returned to the table.

Blaze was keeping up with Vex, wondering what his intentions really were. He seemed friendly, but she certainly wasn't feeling convinced that he was helping her out of the goodness of his heart.

"Well, yeah. I wanted to be with longer unless....you wanted to go home after this." Shadow said softly to her as he moved his hand to hers.


Vex took off his helmet as he checked his surroundings. He felt something was off. Even with Eggman defeated, he was sure that he was up to no good. Vex slowed down his speed and landed on the ground. "This isn't right. This is too easy." He said out loud.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy hesitated for a moment. Because Sonic had agreed to a dinner with her. He hadn't agreed to anything else. Then he'd sent Shadow in his place without so much as a by-your-leave, and she'd come, as much not to waste the time she'd spent making up and getting ready, and because sitting at home crying alone would have made the application of mascara a total waste of time. And then she'd had a good time with Shadow... they'd hugged, she'd kissed his cheek, they'd even danced.

And he actually wanted to spend more time with her.

She smiled, and took his hand, "I'd like that."

"Why would it be too easy?" Blaze asked Vex, raising an eyebrow, "Unless, of course, you were expecting some kind of trap. I wasn't brought here; I was sent here by a traitor from my dimension. I just want to get home as quickly as possible. The best option is to find a Chaos Emerald. Well, two, really."

Shadow smiled and nodded. "Really? Well....let's wait for the waiter and I'll get our meal paid for." He said.


"I am always expecting a trap whenever things get too easy. Best thing to do when you get that feeling is to spring the trap." Vex grinned as he looked around at the forest, "We may not be the only ones in this Jungle."

 

[Breech Loader]

The waiter came up with the bill to be paid, not really saying anything this time. Amy thanked him and smiled, and then turned to Shadow, "So, where were you thinking of taking me? Are we going to the park right now? Or did you already have someplace else in mind?" She'd be very interested to know if Shadow had planned to actually extend the date beyond this.

"I do anticipate traps, but I see no reason why there would be one," Blaze frowned, "I thought you were guiding me to Station Square."

"I was wondering about a nice stroll through the park then head over to a beach. Would you like that?" Shadow asked quietly.


"I am. However, we may find a foe that could be unexpected. I do not wish for anyone hurt while going on our journey but we have to stop anyone that dares to opposes us." Vex said to Blaze.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I would just love that!" Amy smiled widely, "I mean, that would be... nice. I'd like to do that with you."

Blaze rolled her amber eyes, "You're slowing me down, Vex. There is no 'us'. I refuse to assist you in any revenge trip you may be on. The only thing that matters to me is the safety of my world..." she shook her head, "What do you want to happen?"

"Alright, then. Let's get going." Shadow said to Amy, stepping out of the seat and helping her out of it. They walked out of the restaurant and headed towards the parked limo. Shadow then opened the door for his date and smiled.


"Let's get your dimension saved." Vex responded, dropping his mask down then stepping on it, crushing it, "And by the way..... I'm going on a revenge mission or any trip of any sort."

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy climbed in and buckled up, and then Shadow got in, sitting next to her as the limo drove off. She looked at her tight red dress with the low dress, and her high heels, and smiled a bit. It wasn't the kind of thing you went walking in, but hey, it was getting late, so there wouldn't be anybody around. Except Shadow, of course.

"Shadow, I want to thank you," she told him, "You've been so kind and sweet this evening, and... and I feel like I've seen a whole side to you that nobody's ever seen before. Thanks for... for helping me to see through Sonic. You're right, I should... I should probably look elsewhere."

Blaze nodded gratefully, "It's risky for me to stay too long in your dimension, anyway," she told him, "I can usually stay for a few days at a time, but much longer and both of our dimensions start to destabilise from the confusion," she looked at the crushed mask and actually smiled for the first time, "And... well done. Your loss must have been difficult. Revenge seems like the answer, but the more you feed it, the hungrier it becomes."

"Hey, Amy? It's alright. I'm always glad to help you, Ms. Rose." Shadow responded then kissed her cheek, glad to have gotten her through her Sonic obsession.



Vex nodded then looked at his hand. His spines twitched lightly then he looked up at the trees, alerted. "Something is on its way here. Something big." He said to Blaze, kneeling onto the ground and feeling the heavy vibrations approaching fast.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy blushed and nodded, taking Shadow's hand again. They sat there in silence for a few minutes as she stared out of the window, feeling confused about how her life's direction had changed, but at the same time, happy. She didn't speak again until they reached the park

"It's just that... when you first collected me, I wasn't really expecting anything more than the meal at the restaurant. It feels strange that you really want us to spend more time - I mean, not strange, but... that you came to pick me up with the intention of spending more time together than that."

Blaze's whiskers twitched, and she brought up a small flame, ready to form it into a weapon if need be, "I suppose this must be the opponent you so badly wanted then. Is somebody hunting you?" She looked at the Phantom Ruby.

"Well....think about it like this: I am unexpected. You didn't know what we were going to do so when Sonic told me it was just a restaurant, I decided that I would do better than that." Shadow admitted.


"Not that I know of. I'm not even sure what this thing is." The jackal responded as he saw trees began pushed down. His eyes widened and he started backing up. "We can't beat this thing without....getting it's legs tied together." Vex seemed to be afraid at...whatever was coming towards them.

 

[Breech Loader]

"It doesn't surprise me that you'd want to out-do him," Amy replied, amused. She got out of the limo and looked up at the sky. The moon was just rising, full and bright in the sky, although it had the chunk missing, an eternal reminder that... well, Shadow could really be a jerk when he wasn't paying attention. It illuminated the park though, almost as well as the lamps along the paths, "Although you did kind of out-do him just by turning up."

"What?" Blaze demanded, "What's coming? I have faced Iblis itself. I am afraid of no creature."

Shadow glanced up at the moon as he slowly wrapped an arm around Amy's waist. "Ah....I..kinda forgot about that incident." He said, embarrassed.

"It's a multi-legged mech. I saw one of those in Green Hill. It was hard for me to outrun it but I had a Wispon with me at that time. They're pretty much impenetrable, but tie the legs up and you're good." Vex explained as said mech started rampaging towards them at a much faster pace.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy wondered what Shadow was talking about, then realised he too was looking at the moon, "Nothing's going to change what happened," she didn't put up any protest at Shadow's arm around her waist. Either she didn't notice, or she didn't mind. But they'd already been close more than once tonight, "I kind of like the moonlight. It only shines at night, but it's reflected sunlight. It's kind of a reminder that even when it looks dark, the sun is still shining down on you."

"Tie the legs, hmm?" Blaze waved her hand and the flame in her hand became a long whip composed of flame. However it was a close-range weapon, and that did not look like the kind of robot you wanted to get up close with. Additionally, if she released the weapon she'd formed, it would become normal fire.

"Just like......when there's evil surrounding you everywhere you go....there's still heroes to help you." Shadow said, trying to compare what Amy said to his own analogy.

Vex glanced at the flame whip and chuckled. "So cool." He muttered then he watched the mech get closer as he knew what would happen if he just stayed there. Without asking her, Vex grabbed Blaze's arm gently and levitated quickly. "The trees. Hop on the trees that surround it and try to get close with your whip." He said.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy nodded, glad that he understood, even if in a different way, "The moon is shining because the sun is shining. No matter how dark things seem, there's always hope. There's always tomorrow. It won't necessarily be better, or brighter. It might be cloudy. It might even rain. But it'll be different."

She looked up at Shadow with a little smile. After a moment of thought, she wrapped her arm around his waist lightly, "Sometimes different is good enough."

(Just wanna note, Red, that I do know how to moderate my own powers; Blaze can make many things out of her flames, but they're still flames. When they touch things, they burn, and they burn out if they leave her hand)

Blaze nodded at the advice, and leapt onto the trees, agile. She leapt around the machine, trying to spot a good plan of attack, maybe to get behind it and tangle up its legs. She wasn't sure of the robot's strength or abilities yet.

Shadow nodded. "I like that phrasing. I think it was a swell idea of going out with you, Ms. Rose." He chuckled and smiled.

(Thanks for the advice. I'll remember that.)

Vex flew ahead of of the mech trying to see where and how this machine was powered. It seemed impossible to get past it's spiky defenses.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I thought it was Sonic's idea for you to go out with me - instead of me with him," Amy smiled back, "Maybe not such a good idea for him? Oh well... His loss is my gain," she leaned her head on Shadow's shoulder, "I wonder what he'll say when he finds out I had such a nice time without him..."

Blaze tried to spot the robot's method of attack. She wondered what it was doing here if it wasn't hunting Vex. After all, nobody even knew she was here except for him. She snapped the whip, and it successfully coiled around two of the robot's legs, tying them together briefly, and slightly damaging the metal with the heat. But the armour was too tough to melt at the current heat.

However, from behind, the robot was caught off-guard, and tripped.

"Well....I think we both have a solid and pretty good idea at what his reaction will be." Shadow chuckled and kissed Amy's cheek gently.

Vex grinned then he nodded to Blaze. "Nice one, Blaze. You did it..." The Jackal said to the princess and landed on the ground, crossing his arms.
