Fandom A Rose And A Thorn (Shadow x Amy)

[Breech Loader]

Amy blushed; she still wasn't really used to being close to Shadow instead of chasing Sonic. She didn't want him to think she was easy or anything, "I didn't spend like... all my time chasing Sonic," she admitted, "Around when I was 15, 16, there were a couple of other guys - I mean, not in a serious way, but in a cute way. Well, they kind of came on to me. It was funny... but Sonic would always get all... weird..." she waved a hand around, puzzled, "He would suddenly pay attention and kind of... scare them off, I think."

"The only problem," Blaze told Vex, "Is that if I let go of this whip," she waved it, "The flames will burn out and the robot will be able to get up. We must destroy it while it's down. But you say it's impenetrable..."

"That's.....kind of odd. Do you think he would do the same thing to me?" Shadow asked, "I mean....I doubt he would since he asked me to do this. If he's upset with that then that's his own fault."


Vex nodded then tapped his forehead. "I'm not sure if this would work but.....maybe the Phantom Ruby can dispatch of this mech." He said to Princess Blaze, "I think we can also dispatch it in the water. Hopefully, it short-circuit."

 

[Breech Loader]

"Well, you guys are rivals," Amy pointed out, "I don't know. Maybe he thought nothing would come of it. Or maybe he just wanted to shake me off and you were available and won't care at all. I can't say I'd be against the competition," she gave Shadow a mischievous smile, "Would you fight for me?"

"It's worth a try, if we can get it to the water," Blaze nodded, "But I'm not sure if I can drag it, and my flames are extinguished by water..."

"Of course I would fight for you. Why wouldn't I?" Shadow asked, seeming surprised and chuckled softly as he held Amy's hand.

"It'll be good if I can use the Phantom Ruby's power. I can levitate it if I use it's power strongly." Vex said, "You may want to get a strong hold on something."

 

[Breech Loader]

Shadow still had his right arm around Amy's waist and now he was holding her right hand. It was now like when they'd been dancing, only this time there was no dance floor, no restaurants and no music. It was quiet and peaceful like Amy had wanted, just the two of them. Amy looked up into Shadow's ruby eyes, lost in them for a few long seconds.

Then she turned away quickly, blushing and with her fingers over her lips quickly, "I... I didn't expect any of this," she told him, looking away.

Blaze looked around for something to hold onto quickly, and then wrapped one arm around a tree trunk quickly. She had to hold on to the whip with her other hand tightly or the robot would be able to get back up - it was already struggling.

Shadow turned to Amy and kissed her forehead. He chuckled and watched her. "I think the moonlight is helping you look more beautiful." He said to Amy and smiled teasingly.


Vex grunted then released a small shout as he activated the Phantom Ruby and had the area surrounded in a red and glitching aura. He started lifting the mech and moving slowly towards the Mystic Jungle rivers.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy tried to hide her smile, and failed. It was somehow getting easier to accept Shadow being close, "Thankyou, Shadow," she told him, "You... you look handsome," she felt so uncertain right now. Shadow had helped her realise that SOnic wasn't right for her, but was Shadow right for her? She was certain he wanted to be, and he was so nice when he was happy and it gave her a lovely warm feeling for him to be happy, "I like your smile," she added, looking up at him shyly.

Blaze kept her grip on the whip, moving along with the Phantom Ruby. She wondered how powerful that thing was. Just how much could it do?

Shadow gave a light chuckle as he watched Amy, not taking his eyes off of her. "Well....do you think we could do something while here in this park, under the moonlight?" He asked her, his smile never leaving his face.


"This should do it." Vex said to Blaze. His voice sounded strained as he pushed the Mech above the rushing river then let the Aura leave, things returning to normal as the mech fell into the river. The Jackal chuckled then levitated down and knelt down, seeming tired.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I can think of a few things..." Amy blushed, "But I... I don't want you to think I'm easy. And what if somebody's looking?" she looked up at him, "We might get into trouble..."

"That's a very powerful gem," Blaze told Vex, sounding a little concerned, "Are you sure you can handle it? You seem to be exhausting yourself... To have power is one thing, to be able to handle it is another."

"I do not think you are an easy girl....and...we could always do this because it is the simple way to recognize love to someone." Shadow said then he planted a kiss on Amy's lips.


"Yeah....yeah, I can take it. I've been able to do this but....guess I've been exhausting myself. Looks as if I have to keep it's usage to a minimum or to not use it for that long." Vex responded, getting up slowly.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy gasped a little. She'd never been kissed before - well, not on the lips, anyway. She'd always thought she was saving that first kiss for Sonic. And yet here she was, under the moonlight, recieving it from Shadow. And then looping her arms around his shoulders and returning it, leaning back very slowly.

"If it's tiring for you to use, maybe you shouldn't be using it at all," Blaze commented, "Power does terrible things to people. Vex, you weren't given that gem, you stole it."

Shadow still held Amy's waist and deepened the returning kiss, not wanting to break it up but know he would have to if they wanted to breathe.


Vex gave a weak grin. "I will not lie to you now and I won't lie to you later: I can handle it, Blaze...I promise." He said, giving out a deep sigh.

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy was the one who needed to breathe first, and pulled back - although she didn't pull away from Shadow, still allowing him to tilt her back. She felt as if a fog had been lifted from her mind, making the future clear again to her. She was scared and excited at once. She was trembling in his arms. And she could see her lipstick staining his lips.

And on a sudden impulse, she pushed her hands up into his quills, and pulled him to kiss her again.

"Well then... let's continue the journey to Station Square," Blaze replied. Vex might feel like he was telling the truth, but she wasn't sure that things would remain that way.

Shadow was surprised that Amy pulled him back into another kiss but he didn't mind. Truth was, he was happy for this moment that they shared. He felt more than happy to be with Amy.


Vex nodded. "Agreed." He said then he stretched his legs out before starting to run at a decent pace, letting him rest a little longer from the Phantom Ruby.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Shadow, I..." Amy suddenly felt scared. What if this was just something stupid and fleeting? What if he was using her to buff his ego, the way Sonic had done? What if this was just a joke to him? She trembled a little at the thought of being fooled again, "I'm not sure, I... I mean, I like you... and you say you love me... Nobody's ever actually told me they love me, and yet I've thrown around the word so carelessly..." she looked into his eyes, "I don't want to waste this chance..."

Blaze kept up with him, "If you're not planning revenge any more, what do you plan to do with that trinket once we return to the mainland?" she asked him.

Shadow moved his hands away from her waist as he stared at her. "Amy.....I want to prove it to you. I want to show you that I mean that I say." He said to her.

"Not sure....if I can find it, I'll use my old means of transportation. Using a Wispon." Vex responded, "I'll most likely get rid of the Phantom Ruby for good."

 

[Breech Loader]

"But... but how will you even do that?" Amy asked. For all of her occasionally naughty foot-play and words, she was still so naive when it came to matters of the heart, "How will I know?"

"Thank goodness," Blaze sighed, relieved, "For anybody to have that much power... it's dangerous. You could hurt somebody. That somebody could well be innocent. It might even be you who gets hurt."

Shadow grabbed Amy's hand and he locked eye contact with her. "What do think I would do....if I wanted to prove to a woman I love and show her how much I love her?" He asked.


"There's just one problem in destroying this.....how do you get rid of something that has an infinite supply of energy?" Vex asked, "I'm sure Tails would figure it out if I gave it to him. His plane! That's it!"

 

[Breech Loader]

"I... I don't know!" Amy cried out suddenly, "I don't know anything about love! I feel so stupid!" she averted her eyes, and she looked as if she might even cry, "I feel so stupid... please don't leave me alone... I'm so tired of being alone..."

"Tails might be able to think of a way to destroy that thing," Blaze agreed, "But just what do you think he'd do with his plane?"

Shadow sighed and brought his hands around Amy, pulling her close to him into a hug. He didn't to see her so confuses, much less saddened.


Vex looked at Blaze with a grin. "Why take us....I mean...take you to Station Square." He said, remembering what she said earlier.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I just...don't know what to do right now," Amy admitted, "I feel like I... want more... but I don't know... Here? Now? It all feels so... sudden. Like I should... I can... But is that love? Is that what I want? Is it what you want?" she held onto Shadow tightly, "Is it right to feel this way? Is it right for you to feel like this for me? Me for you?" she rested her head on his white fluffy chest, "When did it all get so complicated?"

"Of course, but he's not here," Blaze tilted her head, "I have no idea what you're suggesting, Vex."

"If we truly love each other.....it...would be appropriate if we respond to our feelings accordingly." Shadow said.

"I wanted to go with you to Station Square...." Vex said to Blaze.

 

[Breech Loader]

(Some Time Later)

Amy was still cuddling up to Shadow in the limo he'd hired, which was currently parked in a side street of the Shopping District, "I... feel a little better now," she told him softly. She had no idea that the car door was a few inches open down to her heel in the door-release. She was too warm in Shadow's arms to notice.

Blaze and Vex were closing in on the bright lights of the city, "I appreciate the assistance in crossing the sea," the purple feline told the Jackal, "It's not your kingdom, and all too often, if somebody isn't affected by something, they just don't care."

Shadow nodded as he opened his eyes after the little rest they had received. "That's good to hear." He responded, smiling back but not letting go of Amy. He was too comfortable to move.


"I understand....and I know it's not my kingdom but I want to help out in any way I can." Vex responded to Blaze, "Alright.....seems that we just about reached the city."

 

[Breech Loader]

Amy slid her hand under Shadow's head while making her own head more comfortable on his fluffy chest, "Shadow, I want to thank you for... for not seducing me earlier," she told him, "I mean, you could have... maybe you could have... but I just really needed some time to lie still and think."

"We've made good time," Blaze felt a little easier with Vex now that they were safely over the water, "Thankyou for your help. It's late... but I cannot stop. We probably won't find Sonic or any of his allies tonight though... I can at least go to the Mobian Embassy so that I can stay there while I'm here. They know of my status, I am not sleeping on a bench," she added firmly, "What's the fastest route there..."
