"Right....I guess you're right..." Vex muttered, "Still think you would be better off with someone else. Why would someone choose me?"

 

[Breech Loader]

"To me, that sounds like you're fishing for compliments," Blaze didn't let go of the little smile on her lips, "But don't sit around wondering why anybody would choose you. Make it so that they would choose you. That you would be their best choice."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"You could say that if I decide to stay behind.....I would miss you...dearly..." Vex admitted, holding his arms as they reached a stopped.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze was surprised. She knew Vex wanted to be friends but for him 4to grow so attached to her so quickly - after just a couple of days, even. That was strange, and somewhat worrying too.

"Come on, it's down here." Knuckles told them and jumped down into the crater but it seemed to be a deep one enough to carve into the top of the Hidden Palace.

Vex nodded then jumped after Knuckles.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze jumped down after them, landing easily on her feet in the Hidden Palace. She looked around at the ancient statues, and suddenly pointed to a huge mural, "By Sol! That looks just like..." the two men waited for the obvious statement, "Silver!"

"That mural? It's....supposed to be a prophecy but....seems as if it's already done." Knuckles told Blaze, "It was back when I thought of Sonic as my enemy....and well....Eggman stole the Master Emerald right after shocking me."

"It....kinda looks like Silver....but the Aura around it is yellow. Silver can transform into a Super?" Vex asked, curious.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Yes, I've seen it," Blaze told him, "True, it... didn't actually happen, but I remember it because I travelled between dimensions before the timeline was righted. Silver's fought robots before, but not while Super..."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Strange....well...we better keep going." Knuckles said then continued to where the Master Emerald lie.

Vex stared at mural for another moment and shivered.

 

[Breech Loader]

"I really do need to call Amy," Blaze told them both, and pulled out her phone, "Will I even get any reception on this island? I should have called her before we left..."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Uuuuh....try it out. I've never called anyone here on the island but I'm not sure if any would reach us at this depth." Knuckles told Blaze.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze gave Amy's number a call. To her surprise, it actually worked. A thought occurred that maybe it was the Emeralds. But that didn't matter. She walked away from the two men briefly, speaking to Amy. They saw her face contort in shock, and then, anger.

She returned to them, "Shadow's in the hospital. He almost died in a fight with Sonic," she told them, "Amy is with him, and she sounded... upset. And even if she didn't want to go into details, I think I know what they fought about..." she turned a suspicious glare to Vex. After all, if she hadn't told Sonic, she could guess at who had.

"Shadow's in the hospital? Geez...I wouldn't imagine him him to going to there.....I expected Sonic." Knuckles said, sounding surprised.

Vex looked away from Blaze, knowing that this was his fault to begin with. Damnit......I wish I had my mask for the first time. She wouldn't forgive me..... she'll never forgive me... The jackal thought.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Amy sounded upset," Blaze frowned, "Oh, I've wasted BOTH of your times! I should have called before coming here, Knuckles. I... I need to get back to my people, but when I asked Amy if she was hurt in the fight, she just... burst into tears. I'm worried about her..." she thought about what she'd seen in that limo. Had Shadow gone back to Amy and hurt her? Why would she be so worried about his safety then?

"You're not wasting my time, Blaze. I would love to help you out." Knuckles said.

Vex clenched his teeth together and his Phantom Ruby started to hum loudly as he levitated. "I'll just leave."

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze reached out and grabbed the Jackal by the ear, her fingers pinching him sharply, "You're not going anywhere, Vex," she growled, "I think I might have a few questions for you after I've spoken to Amy. Unless you have something to tell me right now, of course..."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Ow, ow, ow!" Vex flinched, wincing in pain, "I'll tell! I'll tell!" He went back onto the ground and looked over at Blaze, saddened a little while looking guilty.

 

[Breech Loader]

"Amy's been hurt," Blaze told him, "I don't know how, but I want to know what you had to do with it."

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"I'll let you two handle this." Knuckles chuckled, moving away.

Vex looked down at the floor. "I took a picture of Shadow and Amy when they were on the limo....then I showed it to Sonic."

 

[Breech Loader]

"She didn't want Sonic to know. I promised her I wouldn't tell him," Blaze folded her arms and narrowed her amber eyes, in which flames of anger seemed now to be smouldering, "I suspected Sonic's reaction would be negative. Why did you even tell him?"

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"I thought it was a bit of revenge that I could do to Sonic, seeing Amy choose someone different than what he expected. I see now that this was foolish. If you hate me and don't need my help, I'll just leave you." Vex sighed.

 

[Breech Loader]

Blaze's hand snapped out and slapped Vex across the cheek, "You only see now that it was foolish?!" she shouted, "You told me you'd left revenge behind! And to think I actually thought... I actually thought you might be a real friend! I even made a fool out of myself and told you how to change your dimension!" she turned her back on him, "You can stay. Or you can go. I only care what my friends do."

Vex flinched and continued to look down. "I'm sorry....I didn't know it would get this far...." He said quietly and he gripped his hands in fists, "But.....I'm staying with you....even if you don't think of me as a real friend....I'll help you get back home."

 

[Breech Loader]

"I need to get back down to Mobius... to the hospital," Blaze was speaking directly to Knuckles right now, "Oh, this is embarassing... I'm going to need to borrow two Super Emeralds from here, so that I don't have to come all the way back up, but you'd be coming back up anyway... Would you help me with that?"

 

[RedtheRoyalGuard]

"Yes, I can help with this. Here, take two of them." Knuckles said helped carry two of the Super Emeralds.

Vex still rubbed his cheek from the slap he received from Blaze, wincing a little.
