Fandom A Rose And A Thorn (Shadow x Amy)

"Thankyou so much for your trust, Knuckles," Blaze told him. Knuckles had entrusted her with not one, but two of some of the most powerful energy sources on the planet. He had lost much of his trust for others long ago, but he still trusted her, and she felt very flattered by the Guardian's trust in her, "Unfortunately, I can't use them to Chaos Control with... Oh, I feel awful, it's just one favour after another... I suppose I could ask for the Jackal's assistance in getting back down to solid ground but do you have any means?"

"Sorry, Blaze....I've got no other way of getting down." Knuckles said, "Only way out is up through that crater."

Vex didn't respond to Blaze, seeing that he'd been reduced to nothing more than just a living tool.

"Ugh..." Blaze rubbed her face, "Well I can just go back... although I feel bad leaving Amy without knowing what really happened," she looked at Vex, wishing she hadn't slapped him. If only because it made her look ridiculous now, "It seems I need your assistance to get down from this place to see her," she told him.

"You need to tell her...... it's.....it's the right thing to do. I should tell her...." The Jackal responded to Blaze, "I'll use the Phantom Ruby to bring you down, Princess.....as you so require."

Blaze wrapped her arm around Vex's shoulder in a chilly hold so that he could levitate with her. She turned back to Knuckles, "I'll get these Super Emeralds back to you as soon as possible, Knuckles," she promised him, aware that while the Master Emerald held Angel Island aloft, the Super Emeralds also had their role, "And I'm ready to fly, Vex," she told him briskly.

Knuckles nodded to her. "Good luck." He said.

Vex closed his eyes as he started using the Phantom Ruby's power again to levitate while he was holding the other Super Emerald. The Jackal flew out of the crater and towards the hospital in the city though it would be a long flight.

Blaze just sighed, looking away from Vex. Today had been so embarrassing. So infuriating. So upsetting, and she almost felt like she could cry with the stress. But she refused to do so in front of Vex - well, in front of anybody. She hadn't cried since her mother had died.

"I....sorry doesn't cut it for what I've done....it just doesn't! Our trust is ruined because of the atrocious thing I did. If you're going to leave me in dust when we.... I mean, you are done talking with Amy, go right ahead." Vex spoke to cut from the silence.

Blaze hung her head. Vex's apology had touched her, but she was still worried about Amy, and she wasn't sure if she could trust the Jackal after he'd lied to her about his revenge, and withheld that he'd told SOnic, too.

They soon touched down in front of the hospital though.

"I think you should see the consequences of your actions," she told him, "Although Shadow and Amy may not be happy to see you."

Vex nodded slowly and looked out to the hospital. "H-Heh....yeah....what do we with the Super Emeralds in the mean time?" He asked, "We take them inside?"

"As a Guardian, I can do... this..." Blaze waved her hand, and the Gems of Power vanished into a pocket dimension for a while.

They walked into the hospital though, and it wasn't too long, after asking a few questions, that Blaze and Vex were at the door to the recovery room. Amy and Shadow were now expecting them, and they walked in.

Blaze shuddered at the sight of them both. Well, Shadow had that large bandage on his side and some bruises, lying there in the bed, but Amy looked far, far worse. What Blaze could see of her skin was covered in horrible, horrible bruising, on her face too, some of it distinctly hand-print shaped. Her fists clenched at the sight. She didn't want to make assumptions, especially not about the hedgehog who had helped her save her entire dimension, but the fears in her mind were almost overflowing.

"Amy," she spoke finally, "You've been hurt." Amy just looked at the floor.

"It.....it was...Sonic." Shadow coughed then he looked over at Amy, a little weakened but good enough to turn a little, "You tell them, love. I'm still tired."

Love? Vex appeared shocked but....not as much when he first saw the two. He stayed at the entrance of the room but he evidently moved over to see Shadow and Amy.

"Sonic... hurt me," Amy whispered.

"Oh by Sol, no," Blaze knelt in front of her quickly, "No, please Amy, he wouldn't, he-"

Amy sniffled, turning her face away, "I told Shadow none of you would believe me," tears began to run down her face.

"No, no, Amy, please..." Blaze's voice became softer than before, more emotional, "it's not that I think you're lying," she insisted, and took Amy's cheek, turning her to look, "I just... wish you weren't telling the truth..." She offered her open arms to Amy, who leant forwards and let her hug comfortingly, "Did he... did he..." she hesitated to use the horrible word.

"He did," Amy nodded tearfully, "He... he kept saying I liked it... he just... over and over..."

This was the consequence of Vex's 'revenge' on Sonic. The savage and brutal violation of Amy Rose, and the near-death of her lover Shadow the Hedgehog.

"Damnit!!" Vex scowled, covering his eyes, "Blaze....leave for a second. I need to tell them...why it started. Please...."

Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Tell us....what exactly?" He asked slowly.

"I'll leave if it's what Amy and Shadow want," Blaze replied, still holding Amy.

"It's okay, Blaze... you can step outside," Amy told her.

Shadow nodded. "Yes...I'm dying to know what the Jackal has to say." He said, trying to make a pun as he laughed then grimaced a little.

Blaze stepped outside. Amy moved closer to Shadow though, her arms around him carefully so as not to cause pain. She remembered Vex, but she didn't like the way he told them he had something to say.

"Me too," she replied, "Vex, why did all this start?"

"Because.....it was my fault. I took that picture of you two in the limo...then I showed it to Sonic later that night. I didn't think he would do this....I just...wanted to strike back against him....get...a bit of revenge against him for Infinite's death." Vex explained, "Now look where that's gone. I don't deserve your forgiveness for this......I know....if you want to hurt me....by all means, go right ahead."

Amy didn't stand up. She didn't do much of anything. She could never, never forgive Sonic for what he'd done, she knew that... his hands all over her, his body tearing hers in half and soiling it... but now she felt as if she'd lost another friend. Vex had shown Sonic the photos that had driven the blue hedgehog to come to her apartment demanding answers and then taking the answers he wanted... and just thinking about that photo of her entangled with Shadow made her feel more dirty.

She hid her face in Shadow's white chest fur and her shoulders started to shake, her tears dampening his fur.

"I'd Chaos Spear you if I wasn't so injured. I can't do much of anything besides eat, sleep, talk....and be there for Amy." Shadow glared at Vex, "You are Infinite's relative."

Vex didn't flinch at that, however. He deserved this, even if it meant that he had to hide in the shadows.

"How... how could you..." Amy wasn't looking up, just holding on to Shadow as close as she could, "You... you knew Sonic would do something and you j-just..." She felt as if this was all her fault, even though it made no sense at all, "I can't... I can't..." she pulled away from Shadow, her brain buzzing static all over again, feeling so dirty and used...

With her back to the two men, right there in the hospital room, she started to claw at her skin like she wanted to peel it right off, struggling to strip out of her clothes.

"Amy, stop!" Shadow started as he tried sitting up but moved back down, knowing he would only hurt himself more, "Stop doing this! We can get pissed at Vex together, but don't start peeling your skin again, please!"

Vex went over to the door and reached for it he stopped. He didn't know why he was hesitating. He could've just left the room at that but the Jackal decided to stay.

When Vex opened the door, Blaze was able to see inside. She gasped at Amy's breakdown, and jumped forwards to pin her arms by her sides, "Amy! Amy, you have to stop!" her voice became regal, authoritative, even as Amy struggled, "You have to stop hurting yourself. You have to stop hurting yourself..."

"B-but it h-hurts..." Amy sobbed, her arms scratched and her clothes hanging off her, "And I'm so dirty... And Sonic is just going to get away with it and I'm such a whore..."

"I know it hurts," Blaze told her, "I know you feel dirty. But those feelings won't go away any more quickly if you're hurting yourself. No matter what, we're your friends and we're here for you," she glanced at Vex; it was accusing, but not hate-filled, "Amy, we're all with you on this. No matter what happens to Sonic, we're with you."

"You'll just go back to your world," Amy sobbed.

"I have to," Blaze admitted, "But I'll come back, I promise. We're still your friends. And your friends are not going to abandon you to these horrible feelings. And I was wrong about Shadow. He won't hurt you."

Amy's struggling slowed to a halt, and she became limp in Blaze's arms, which allowed for another comforting hug, as Blaze guided her to Shadow's bedside again.

"Thank you, Blaze. Do you have to leave this world? It would be great to have someone here alongside Amy and I." Shadow said to her.

Vex moved away from them as he turned away. He took off the Phantom Ruby from his chin and glared at it. He scowled at it and tightened his grip around it, obviously enraged at it and at himself.

"Your dimension and mine will collapse if I remain for too long," Blaze sighed, "Think of it as a balancing scale. My very life-energy here makes your world too heavy and mine too light..." she looked at Amy, who she was sitting next to. She had a duty to her friends too - a duty to show compassion for them. Otherwise how could she be compassionate to her people? "But I suppose I can stay for a little while longer, since I have the tools I need to return already."

She looked at Vex, and her brow furrowed in sorrow. He clearly felt so guilty...

"Vex," she told him. When he looked at her, she gestured him closer. Amy was reluctant to touch anybody else right now, but Blaze felt like it was a good thing to show that the jackal shouldn't have to be pushed away.
