A Regressive Bet

I really wish I didn't have to do that... the honey-haired angel mourned internally.

Once it seemed like Sam had managed to get the medicine in his system, Gabriel carried him to the living room, before snapping his fingers and the couch turning into more of a futon, with blankets and pillows strewn about.

"Good thing I can't get sick...so you're getting cuddles. Best medicine there is," the archangel said with cheer.

Sam whimpered softly, poking out his lower lip, despite feeling icky, he was kinda hungry, and a bottle sounded nice.

Rolling his eyes fondly at Sam's bottom lip poking out, Gabriel ruffled the younger's hair, "You know I'm never gonna resist that..." before getting a bottle and making sure it was the right temperature.

Coming back, the archangel started to feed Sam, knowing today was going to be a sick day.

Sam looked up at Gabriel as he gently suckled on the bottle, making adorable little feeding noises, and relaxing in the angel's arms.

Expression softening considerably, Gabriel waited until Sam was finished, before taking the empty bottle away. Gently adjusting the taller so his head was on the archangel's shoulder, Gabriel patted Sam's back so he could burp.

Sam let out a loud burp, a bit of spit up accompanying it, but he felt much better, and was ready to cuddle with Gabriel.

Wiping away the bit of spit up from Sam's face, Gabriel murmured, "Alright, kiddo. Let's get cuddling." Laying down on the futon, the archangel cuddled Sam close.

Lost in the warmth and affection that seemed to emit from Sam. Gabriel knew this was something perfect for him. He was truly a guardian, after all.

And eventually, the archangel fell asleep: a rare thing.

Sam yawned and fell asleep as well, his head turned to the side, with a bit of drool dribbling from the corner of his mouth, onto the archangel's shirt.

And so it went, Gabriel's first day of being a caretaker/parental role. He offered affection and trust and soon received it back. It had been going well so far, and the archangel looked forward for more days to come.

The next morning, Sam woke up in his crib, with a wet diaper and a hungry tummy, instinctivly, he started crying for Gabriel.

Hearing Sam's crying, Gabriel entered the nursery and removed the taller from his crib, gently shushing him. "Morning, kiddo," the archangel murmured fondly, changing Sam into a fresh diaper and carrying him to the kitchen.

Sitting the hazel-eyed man in the highchair, Gabriel sat in the seat next to it and started to feed Sam.

Sam ate messily of course, globs of oatmeal dribbling down his chin, and onto the front of his outfit, and smeared around his mouth, as well.

"You're pretty messy, Sammoose," the archangel teased as he wiped away the mess from Sam's face and outfit. It was kinda cute, Gabriel had to admit.

Sam just giggled and patted his hands against the highchair tray, squirming a bit, as Gabriel tried to clean him up.

Taking Sam out of his highchair, Gabriel brought the taller to the living room and sat him down on a blanket laying on the floor, with toys scattered around it, just like before.

"Aww, thanks, kiddo." the archangel murmured gratefully at Sam's sweet nature. That shy smile was pretty cute, let alone irresistible.

Gabriel started to play with the younger, glad that Sam was feeling better than yesterday.

Sam blushed and giggled, picking up another toy, and joining Gabriel. He liked being a baby, and he liked having Gabriel for a caretaker.

Glancing sideways, the archangel grinned brightly at seeing Sam playing happily with his toy. It seemed like the hunter liked being a baby, which was good, considering this couldn't really work as a one-sided thing.

Feeling brave and affectionate, Gabriel turned his head and leaned forward, blowing a raspberry on Sam's cheek.

Laughing heartily at the blush tinting Sam's cheeks, Gabriel praised himself for being able to take care of the hazel-eyed man. The bet hadn't even crossed his mind recently; it didn't matter.
