Fantasy A Quest to Die For

Eric looked around for a bit and saw the chaos he may have caused. He saw the crossbow shooting at him and others. He dodged it quickly and took a quick glance at the Hex woman. "Watch out! A crossbow!" He yelled, trying to not step on the pressure plates to go help the Hex woman. Please make it! He thought to himself.

@slachance6

Abel was shameless, that much had become apparent during this short interaction. She bound into the pit, taking cover behind the heavy-hitters of the party. The darkness completely unphased her, and she used this time to draw back her bow and angle herself in the general direction of the strongest unfamiliar heat signature. The sudden reappearance of light left the tiefling woman with spots in her vision, but they were easily ignored.
She was offering cover to the more eager individuals, mapping out the traps with the efficiency of a trained eye. She made her best effort at warning people of pressure plates while simultaneously picking off or incapacitating her targets. She sacrificed speed for accuracy,  moving behind the Daedra.
"That metal bucket over your head must make it hard to spot the traps, there's a pressure plate ten paces ahead of you," she advises Ta'lak, voice a little tighter with focus.

She tosses the bladed bow to her non-dominant hand and draws her blade to assist her new Daedric acquaintance while simultaneously keeping an eye on that orb. If no one took up the role of protecting the crystal, she would quite frankly be pissed off if she were left to take the considerable option. On light feet, Abel slips through the chaos adeptly and dispatches a few monsters before retreating back in quick succession. She could hear the rumbling of mechanisms and clicks of pressure plates.
"GOD DAMN,YOU IDIOTS, THESE TRAPS ARE GOING TO SCREW US ALL OVER! LOOK AT YOUR FEET," She snarls at whomever had made the dumb decision to trigger the pressure plates. She was easily out of range, but held her doubts on the agility of her more heavily armoured companions. She was working herself into a frenzy, moving faster than before.

Flipping over one of the last pressure plates, I turned to the sound of something that sounded eerily close to a crossbow...except super-sized like a ballista. Shifting my eyes to the side, they widened before I all but dropped to the floor in a plank position, barely dodging the humongous javelin that passed overhead. I then looked down and realized that if I placed my knees down, I would set off another trap. Breathing in deeply, I put more of my body weight on my wrists and elbows before lifting my legs off the floor. I didn't have much time, so I had to make this maneuver quick. Now placing all my weight on my open palms as I lifted my body into a hand-stand, I swayed forward slightly and brought my feet down onto the center platform, before my torso followed suit.

Breathing out and shaking my head, I spun both blades over my fists and launched into the fray with a simple combination: Gabel's Game to Many Waters. Dodging low under a goblin's ax, I thrust with the poniard, striking the goblin dead center and ending the first set. Looking up, I quickly wrenched the small blade out of the monster's gullet before twisting to the side of another's small dirk and launching into the four attacks of Many Waters: two simultaneous slashes in an x-pattern down the torso of one before turning slightly and unleashing another two horizontal slashes on the next goblin within range, effectively slicing both of them open, hence the name Many Waters.

However, that was only three down and a lot more to go through. I was suddenly glad that I wasn't using Retribution as green blood clung to the two weapons I used.

I smiled at the thought of meeting one of father's friends. I nodded my head and replied with an 'it's okay' before stepping into the dimly lit metal corridor. As soon as I had entered, a slight chill encased me, but I did my best to shrug it off. My armor may not have been warm, but it allowed for easy movement. After locking the rotting door with a large black key, I placed the key ring on a hook protruding from the wall and followed Legault. Whilst following him, I noticed the corridor had not been made for beauty. 'Finally, something NOT gold' I thought with a small smile. A dim blue illumination stood within most of the passage way, and I was put at ease by the relaxing color. Just as I was about to continue my train of thoughts, I noticed the distance between Legault and me increasing, foot by foot. I quietly sped my pace, making sure Legault didn't think I was dozing off. Today was NOT a good day to do so.

At last, I arrived at the end of the corridor with Legault, and I instantly noticed the opened space that held... quite a sight. Well, let's just say I didn't expect him to be training THESE kinds of warriors. Looking among the crowd below, I could distinguish a... deadra? Okay, what else? A couple of thieves, obviously seen by their style of armor, a cat girl, a serpentine creature which I had never seen before, and... a few warrior-like characters. It was certainly an interesting crowd, but I focused on the battle anyways.

Within the domed field, I could see many different threats, and many false threats. Flames spewed from wooden pillars that had arisen from the ground, and I didn't even want to mention how ridiculous the spinning blades looked. They were just posts, so they posed no real threat. As I examined the battle further, I noticed a small battalion of goblins attacking the group of trainees. Interesting match so far. Any further examinations proved to be useless, though I though I could see small shifts within the ground itself, and light seemed to reflect off certain parts... pressure plates? So now I see why the poles were necessary. Well, it was certainly interesting, and so I watched each trainee carry out their actions... and there was one that stuck out to me/ He was practically running across the field from what I could see. His distance couldn't have been made by any means of magic... and I noticed several javelins that had flown through the battlefield. Through the batlle, a glint caught my eye, and I scanned the room for a similar glint. At last, I noticed a crystal, placed in the center of the room. What was it used for? I had no clue, other than the trainees were to protect it. This was interesting indeed.

Ta'lak had dispatched another set of goblins. It wasn't until now that he noticed that Abel was close behind him as she was yelling. He turned in time to see a large javelin coming toward him. It was too close for him to dodge, instead, he side-stepped and took the javelin to his lower abdomen. Ta'lak was barely moved by its force. Grunting in pain, he grasped the large pole in one hand. He gasped quietly as he pulled it out with the slightest difficulty.

Thanks to his armor, the javelin only went a few inches into his flesh. However, Ta'lak was taken aback at how much pain came with the puncture. This is a mortal realm Ta'lak. Get a hold of yourself! He bared his teeth, dropping the bloody javelin and turning back to the goblins. His wound was bugging him but Ta'lak refused to be physically impaired, fighting through the pain. As he cut through a larger goblin, he let out a growl. It was a mix of pain and anger.

Saladin Yusuf

The black robed Arabian trailed behind the group into the large metal dome. Saladin's eyes surveyed around the interior of The Pit. While it was pitch dark for a moment, torches suddenly lit themselves up once the entire group has entered and the gates were shut close. Tall pillars suddenly emerge from the ground beneath them and two metal gates began to open followed by the loud and unpleasant sounds a metal gate would emit. Captain Legault and the Emperor emerged on a tall platform overlooking them all. As his instructions echoed within the metal dome, a small pedestal carrying a small green crystal emerged close to the group. Crowds of roars and screams were heard and from the metal gates poured small, green goblins. Saladin muttered a silent prayer under his breath. Since goblins did not possess the intelligence and willpower to learn the arts of unholy/dark magic, there was no need for Saladin to use his holy magic in this battle. He decided to rely on just his sword arm.

Saladin held his blade one-handed, the blade pointing to an angle which is just hovering above the ground. The deserts were home to many sword masters and this was the stance of a famed sword master that had mentored Saladin in his early days as a soldier. Saladin then recalled a time when he was mistaken for his late grandfather who was once a legendary sword master. A small smile formed on the man's face. Saladin shook off his thoughts and distractions and prepared himself to face the oncoming hordes. Calm, cool and composed, Saladin decided to protect the right flanks of the crystal considering that most of the fighters had chosen to take the front lines. The goblin hordes came quick and while they did not possess enough intelligence to devise appropriate strategies to make use of their enormous numbers, Saladin did not want to get complacent and underestimate his opponents. Famed Desert Eagle, are you ready? He dispatch each goblin that came within his range as quick as possible while being very careful not to trigger any pressure plates he comes too close to. Once in awhile, Saladin would look over towards the crystal to ensure no goblins had accidentally slipped past him. He took one of the smaller knives from the dead goblins and hid it in his belt to be used as a throwing knife against any goblins that came too close to the crystal and not within his range.

@Tsuna (I'll just assume that Tsuka has replied to Saladin :P)

Eric pushed the Hex woman out the way before she got shot. "Whew, that was close," commented Eric. "I'll need your assistance, so come with me." The knight grabbed the Hex woman's hand and dashed towards the crystal again. He stepped on a couple more pressure plates, on purpose or accidental. Maybe if I or we step on as much pressure plates as we can, we'll be victorious, strategized Eric. May be idiotic but it should do.

@slachance6

Abel let loose a string of very loud curses, allowing a few words to slip out that were definitely not from this plane of existence."Not even three minutes and you go ahead nearly getting yourself killed. I'd cry if I could," she calls out to Ta'lak, masking whatever modicum of concern she had behind a snarky comment. She made a point to take some pressure off of him as he recovered, moving through the carnage with a grace that looked oddly befitting on her. Ta'lak could cut down large numbers-- but it took him time to regain that momentum, so she could corral a few goblins into his attack range. While she was not causing maximum carnage, this last-minute strategy wasn't absolutely awful.

Excitement coursed through her willowy limbs. She wasn't exactly the tallest person on the planet, and ended up at the back of the group unable to see past the tall forms of the rest of the assembled. Nonetheless, a small catty smile came to her lips. This was going to be fun... when she actually found out what this challenge was! For now, she stood alert with ears pricked for sounds coming from ahead although the clanking of armour and the rustle of fabric dampened most sound. The chain whip was coiled in her left and dominant hand while the senbon rested in a convenient holster at her thigh which had been emptied of its blade at the castle doors.

The doors slammed shut behind them. Sylverna jumped, muttering a supplication under her breath. Did they have to slam it so loud?! Way in the distance the Grand Elf and Emperor were positioned. Apparently, her mission was to protect a crystal in the middle of the room. Fine. She could do this. She'd protected multiple other shinies in the past. Soon after a mass of creatures began a cacophonous noise. She identified them as goblins and they were making their way towards the pillar. Something tall and straight loomed up and suddenly flames shot into the air. The cat-girl gave a terrified yowl and ducked behind the tallest warrior, the otherworldly demon... thing. Sheepishly she shrugged in her nervous tension and took a few steps back and observed what she could. Several other towers with spikes and such had also risen from the ground. The next thing she noticed were the raised plates in the ground but before she could say anything someone was running straight towards the center. One of the humans took charge and proceeded to warn the rest about triggering traps. This one happened to be a cannon... then pandemonium happened and there wasn't anything she could do to stop it.

The demon--no, Ta'lak--went ahead next leaping over several of the raised triggers. He reached the pedestal in time to stall the horde.

<more to come>

With the female of his kind by his side, they held off the nasty creatures with their pointy teeth nicely. She turned instead and seeing the Middle Easter-looking human take right flank followed suit taking the left. Dancing between the triggers and the occasional lunging of an array of offensive weaponry from spikes to arrows, she observed the front lines diligently. They were doing fine so far... but what was that back there? She turned, nearly getting skewered by a pole that popped out of nowhere. Upon closer observation, the pole was lined with tiny needles. Yikes! Dodging it at the last moment, she focused on what seemed to be another person entering the Pit of (Absolute) Pandemonium. Strange... were they expecting someone so late? A flare went off some paces away then an explosion. In the light, she saw that he seemed to be wearing military garb. Interesting. But she couldn't ponder for long. A goblin bared needle-like teeth at her in a growl but was easily sliced by the chain whip. Although not a critical hit, she did cause some major blood loss. That one wouldn't be coming back over for a while yet.

@Endronus

The other flank wasn't doing too poorly. The man performed well with the sword and was fastidious besides. He hadn't yet let a goblin through. "Nice work, and keep it up!" she called to him hoping he could hear her through the raucousness.

@MrPotato

One trap after the next kept activating due to the negligence of a teammate, and traps began to go off everywhere.

First, another cannon emerged from the wall, but instead of a cannonball, it shot a net out of it, pinning the arrogant boy to the ground. A couple of goblins in front of him ran up to him and began to kick him while he was trapped, all the while laughing "Stupid hooman!"

@NextGenRolePlayer

Next, a piece of the metal wall shifted into a large doorway, and out marched a Stone Golem. It let out a mighty roar before it began swiping at whatever was nearest to it, which happened to be goblins. As it moved, rocks and debris flew everywhere, some of which fell towards the direction of a few warriors.

@DarkSlayer @WantYourSoul @XTrump_CardX

The final trap caused another small opening on the wall to pop open, and another cannon rolled into place. However, it shot a red orb directly into the center of the air in the dome, and after a second, it sent out a blinding light, as if a miniature sun had been in the dome, blinding any warrior that was unlucky enough to look at it momentarily. The goblins seemed to be unaffected by it...

@(Anyone who was unlucky enough to be in the middle of the dome.)

Legault shook his head, sighed, and covered his eyes with each trap activation, and looked towards the Emperor. He seemed to be enjoying himself, as he was enjoying a bowl of Grandgrapes as he watched the battle go down. Legault looked behind him to Lucius and nodded toward the battle.

"Tell me Lucius; do you think this ragtag group could work together in harmony?"

@Endronus

I chuckled at the mere thought of this dysfunctional family working together. I mean, I believed it was possible... with a lot of work. There was no way an Emperor could just send these guys out on a quest and expect them to actually complete it without any casualties or mistakes. And that made me truly wonder what the Emperor had in mind. After glancing at the short old man who gleefully sat in his throne, I responded with a formal tone.

"No sir, I do not think they could. However, with the slightest of training, I'm sure something would work out." I paused a moment, watching the chaotic battle ensue before leaning over towards Legault. "If I may, what caused this summoning?" We had all arrived, but I wasn't sure what for. Perhaps the others had already known?

@The Lord of Sunlight

While waiting for everyone to choose their weapons, Tsuka was about to talk to explain more about himself when the challenge began.

Tsuka walked into the dark building. He could feel the darkness. He was tempted to use his powers here, but instead focused.

When the torches on the walls turned on, Tsuka watched the pillars move into place. He hadn't expected to work towards a common objective with the others here.

Thankfully someone noticed there were traps set along the floor and warned the rest of them. With everything going on, Tsuka didn't have time to try to analyze the floor surface.

He noticed a non-human jump toward the platform with the crystal. And then there was the flying woman that he had first seen outside of the castle.

Still standing exactly where he was when the torches first started, Tsuka called out, "Anyone who can fly or navigate to the crystal, do so. You'll be our line of defen - " Tsuka heard the sound of something being shot through the air.

Apparently some of the traps were already going off.

Most of the goblins were going toward the center of the room and the silver haired swordsman was still standing near the entrance. He doubted he would gain recognition by standing here doing nothing.

Recognition? Since when do you care about getting approval for some quest?

Eh it's better than standing around doing nothing, he grinned.

The male ran a few steps toward the center of the room, when he felt something under him give way to his weight. A panel?

One of the pillars nearby shot out a vertical flame of fire. Tsuka rolled out of the way, and the fire stopped again, no longer activated by his weight. A few goblins noticed the lone human and rushed him.

Using the chain scythe, Tsuka defended himself, evading the goblin's first attack while watching where he was stepping. After a few moments, he defeated the goblin and tossed him to the ground.

About to fend off the other remaining foes coming towards him, Tsuka watched as the vertical wall of fire activated again. The goblin that he had defeated was laying on the switch.

Tsuka looked at the remaining foes and grinned.

He threw the chain of his scythe toward the two goblins, wrapping the chain around their legs. The male then swung the chain, using the momentum to lift the two goblins off the ground and swung them in a rapid circle.

The goblins roared before eventually being let go and tossed into the fiery wall that was still activated.

In this way, Tsuka picked off a few goblins here and there, avoiding traps as much as he could, and using his chain scythe to throw the monsters into the fire trap.

-The Pit

At the same time as the giant stone golem's entrance, a bright flash of red light bathed Ta'lak's back. It made an awesome silhouette before him. He had his whole attention fixated on the golem at the time, otherwise, he would have surely been blinded. Thanks to the Stone golem, the ranks of the goblins were thinning, which left Ta'lak with room to think straight. Between the slashes that he gave to the smaller groups of goblins, he eyed the giant monster. The beast is made of some sort of stone. Without my magic, I am useless...

Ta'lak was going over the others' points of strength. He spotted the one with large wings and remembered her capacity for magic. Perhaps she had something that could take care of it. From where he was at she was to the left, down some 20 yards. If only he had gotten her name. Ta'lak doubted she would respond to anything less. Keeping an eye on the golem, he continued killing the few remaining goblins with ease.

Saladin Yusuf

The cannons that were activated produced loud, booming sounds all over the metal dome. He could barely hear the clashing of steels. The goblin attacks were relentless and while many green corpses lay lifeless all around the dome, none of them seemed to have been affected by their kin dying in vain. The red orb star that produced such a terrific blinding light fazed Saladin slightly as he was facing an angle which he could only slightly see the star. He quickly recovered himself and resumed fighting before the goblins could get past him.

Saladin continued to work on defending the flanks when he heard a feminine voice directed towards him. Despite the heated turmoil of the battlefield, he was able to hear her compliments. Cutting down the last few goblins of the current wave, he turned around to face her, the cat-like lady that he had seen earlier on in the keep and gave a swift and graceful bow of respect. He didn't expect his actions to have been watched but nonetheless, accepted the compliment while not being complacent or proud. Saladin went to face the upcoming goblins when heard another metal gate being opened. This time, a huge stone golem came forth from it and began attacking anyone in its range viciously. The stone golem was increasing in distance towards the group while rampaging through the goblin hordes. Seeing that his flank was clear, Saladin channeled his holy magic to one of its properties, light, and made use of the blinding light caused by the red orb star. The star had produced a significant amount of light energy. He was able to make use of it and gathered a powerful shock wave that knocked the stone golem back meters away, almost hitting the metal gate it came from. While the shock wave could only knock the golem back, it bought some time for some of the other members to cast a more destructive spell to destroy the stone golem.

Elias stood in the ring, and watched the onslaught of goblins emerge. Ugly creatures, but easy to kill. Jumping clear over on, he quickly spun around and sent a icicle shard into the goblin. Turning around to find a unexpected goblin, he met it with a quick stab with his sword, plunging it deep into the goblin. Looking back around at the group, he quickly checked if anyone needed backup.

Suddenly he noticed a stone creature appear, a stone golem to be accurate. They were nasty foes due to their exterior.

(sorry kinda rushed i have am practice)

"Thanks, I owe you one", said Ezra to Eric as the bolt narrowly missed her face. She followed along with him to the center of the pit by the crystal. Slowly but surely approaching was a massive humanoid that seemed to be constructed of stone. "Unless you have any better idea", she said, "I'll slow this this thing down while you try to damage it." She cast a hex that caused vines to erupt from the ground and entangle the golem's leg. It was too strong to be completely stopped, but it was significantly slowed down.

The grinding of metal gears was painful to the tiefling woman's ears, and she subconsciously snarls at the sound. The flash of light seared her eyes, she didn't have anything to protect her light-sensitive other than her arm thrown up over her face. Her vision had become warped in the aftereffects of the light, and she is forced to rely primarily on sensing heat as she waits out the splotches in her vision. The sight of the lumbering creature did nothing to that anger of hers, and she viciously kicks a goblin to the ground to display her anger at the idiot on their team.

She voiced the first curse words she could think of, which were incidentally coming from a voice in her head. It was difficult to tell if she were cursing at Eric or the massive stone golem that was rapidly approaching the gathered trio. Abel knew her weapons would do absolutely nothing to affect this monster, but she did have a little bit of contraband.

No one had said anything about mysterious alchemical concoctions.

As the magical-smelling fae casts her hex, the tiefling lobs a glass jar of explosives at the creature with a very detailed description of what-or better yet, whom- it's mother was doing in hell. At least her eyes had finally readjusted.

She mostly needed an excuse to vent her anger at how how fantastically terrible this entire test was shaping up to be. She moves quickly to the goblins nearest to the crystal while easily avoiding the pressure-plates, dispatching them with less showmanship than previously displayed. If looks could kill, Eric would be long dead by now.

I was going to kill that arrogant, self-righteous bastard. At this point, he was more and more of a detriment, completely turning this admittedly fun and somewhat challenging exorcise into a living hell as death traps went off all around us, firing cannons and ballistae, and even a damn golem!!! My eyes snapped shut as a bright light assaulted them before it felt as though I had been ax-kicked and found myself tumbling backwards. Groaning, I forced myself to my feet, seeing huge chunks of debris around me. Shaking my head, my eyes closed in on the golem and I decided that it was a much larger threat than the goblins.

Darting closer to the golem, wondering what techniques would even affect stone, I stopped short at the sight of the walking calamity, tied up in a rope and struggling. I could end it here...one slight shove into one of the plumes of fire or a quick thrust to the throat, and I could end what would undoubtedly be the future cause of my death-or any of these peoples' deaths. Flint would, without a doubt. Hell, Flint would have done so the moment Eric became a liability. My grip tightened on the blades as I remembered what Flint told me, about not letting me turn into a murderer, like himself. Gritting my teeth, I turned from Eric's restrained form to the others focusing on the golem, and I all but screamed at myself as I made my decision.

"You're lucky we have bigger problems." I muttered to myself as I ran for the golem, careful to avoid any pressure plates and duck under fire plumes, increasing my speed the closer I got. I didn't really have much of a plan except for trying to do some damage, but I found an opening made for me as Saladin released what could only be described as a shock wave at the stone golem, knocking it off balance. Seeing my chance, I leaped forward, imbeding both blades in the golem's back and praying that they stuck.

I had completely forgotten about my question and covered my eyes as a bright light flashed with the intensity of the sun. I understood the point of putting the trainees in danger... but why couldn't I have some sort of protection? But I digress: a stone golem had advanced towards the party, and with one member tied up, and the other pre-occupied with goblins, I realized no one would last long. Before I knew it, I began inspecting the golem critically, a casual part of military training. Spot the weakness. At last, I noticed the sizable cracks that held the rocks together. Without thinking, I shouted a few commands into the dome, hoping someone would hear me.

"Stab the cracks in the golem's body! Once your blade is implanted, push to the side to widen the cracks. Dodge whatever attacks you can, and open the body up as much as possible!" If my calculations were correct, the stone would eventually give way, or at least break apart, exposing the golem's core. The only problem that could arise was the possibility of the stone being too strong. I didn't want anyone breaking their weapons, but seeing no other solution, it had to be tested.

Legault brought a hand up to his chin and began to scratch it as he watched the group do battle. While it was true they weren't very well on the cooperation scale, they did display the prowess in combat he was looking for. While some of them relied on magic and the like, the majority of them were using their weapons to the best of their abilities and were managing to hold back the goblins tide. Things shifted a little more towards the goblins favor as more and more traps were sprung, especially when the Golem was brought out and began wreaking havoc.

Lucius spoke quietly behind him and Legault responded without looking away from the action.

"Thats classified for now. However, I can tell you that you shall be joining us for the duration of the journey we shall be departing on soon."

He narrowed his eyes as he watched some of the warriors began to engage the Golem, but with little success. That was when Lucius decided to call out to them about which action they should take. Immediately, Legault turned to the boy and gave him an icy stare.

"Be silent. These are trained professionals; or so they claim. They should be more than able to handle a simple Earth Golem."

@Endronus

I twisted my head to my right, just enough to see Legault's icy glare and hear him, but I didn't cower. Professionals? Had this captain been blind? I didn't want to disrespect the captain, but even he should have noticed that the battle was not professional. Yes, they were proficient at handling weapons, but they had no sense of teamwork. That was just as important as being able to fight. Had it not been the captain I was speaking to, I would have let loose tons of flaws in their fighting, teamwork, and other aspects of the battle, but I contained myself.

"Sir, these fighters are quite good, but they have no sense of teamwork. Who shall be called upon if they fail? They are the only ones here after all. Of course, I don't mean to disrespect you in any way... I just think they need much more training in the sense that the journey they will be going on will be involved with social interaction." From my point of view, that wasn't too harsh. I only hoped he thought the same. Another fact the captain had brought up earlier worried me. He wasn't serious? If I were to travel with these guys... it would be like taking care of an orphanage. And I hadn't even been able to experience their fighting style yet. Shouldn't this request have been directed to a more... reliable group? Nothing against the current trainees of course, but how were they going to learn to fight together within the given amount of time... speaking of which.

"How long before the journey begins, captain?" I returned my vision to the battle, watching the golem roar in rage as one of the trainees had stuck two daggers into the monster's back.

-The Pit

The inside of the Pit was utter chaos. There were goblin corpses littered everywhere, some of which were quite charred from the flames. It was at this point of observation that Ta'lak also saw that the handful of goblins that remained showed hesitation in their advance. Some of them even turned and fled back to where they came from. Now the main threat was the stone monster, What with that foolish human trapped in some net. Glancing around, he saw the rogue who spotted the traps go for the golem. Wiping the blood from his sword, Ta'lak turned to Abel. "Don't wait up. This beast needs to be taken care of."

The possibility of Ta'lak's mind having gone mad was high. At least, that was what it would seem, seeing as how his plan consisted of near suicide. He laughed out loud at a thought. Thousands upon thousands of wars, and I am going to die here. On this pathetic Plane, by the hands of a dumb golem. Gritting his teeth and pushing back the dull throbbing pain, Ta'lak began running toward the monster. It was a little preoccupied with the rogue so it didn't notice him coming up. As the golem loomed over him, Ta'lak saw a crack in its leg right where its knee would be. He started sprinting faster, gaining momentum and readying his greatsword.

 As he came up to the giant's leg, he swung with all the strength he had. The combined strength and momentum of it created a loud crack, followed by an even louder one. After the latter crack, the golem roared in anger, swatting Ta'lak like a fly. Afterward, its leg started to give. He didn't notice any of this as he was busy busting a flame pillar in half with his body. Ta'lak was buried under some rubble, but he was still very much conscious.

Legault rolled his eyes and sighed at the boy's response. That loose tongue of his would end up being his undoing. He continued to stare down at the battle, watching as the Daedra flew into one of the many pillars as he responded.

"I use the term professionals to describe these people very loosely. It is extremely evident that teamwork is not a virtue of these people, and that's not surprising; the Emperor summoned them from all kinds of places around Iriveil. I do not expect them to be as perfect as the Emperor hopes, and that is why I'm making them do this little team building exercise. So far, the results are poor."

He tapped his fingers on his armor lightly, obviously annoyed.

"If I had it my way, White Peak would be handling this, and none of you would have needed to get involved. But, what the Emperor says is law...even if it means I'm the one who will babysitting."

The Emperor lightly smacked him on the leg with a laugh at this.

"Oh come now Legault, this will be an excellent experience for you! I know how long you've been longing for a challenge."

Legault said nothing, only continued to stare down, a slight tinge of pink on his cheeks.

"Dammit!" Said the knight in frustration. Stuck in the net, he wondered if using the pressure plates would be a great idea. Though it looks chaotic, using the pressure plates may be a great idea. "Hey! Everyone! Try using the pressure plates!" Eric suggested. "Though, it may not be a bright idea! It should be able to counter the chaos! Maybe even turn off all the traps!" Eric must've looked and sounded delirious. As if anyone would listen to the guy stuck in a net AND created the hellish room.
