Fantasy A Pirate's Life For Me

Crowley stumbled over to the docks, laid his back next to a crate, and caught his breath. His side stung like a bitch, but it wasn't much. He wondered if he would ever get out of this accursed city.

"You should probably get off the ship too," Heather said, before turning to the crew, "We anchor here! You can leave the Sphinx but be back tomorrow evening. If not, we leave your sorry assessment here!" She shouted. In return she got another chorus of cheers and mean actually doing thier jobs. She left the ship and tossed a bag of coin to the man in charge of repairs before heading to the local tavern.

She got a few odd looks, being a woman who was rather well armed, is an uncommon sight, even more so that she just waltzed off a ship. Her boots clicked, and her sword tapped the street. She only stopped to look at a strange man who was sitting on some crates bleeding. "Um, you ok?"

Stryker

Stryker stood, crouched on one of the ships supports for the sails. Her long hair took up in the wind, blowing around her and tickling her skin. By now, she was pretty much used to it. She watched as Captain Antonio pushed off the last of the members of the other ship and beckoned his crew forward. Stryker smiled at the possibility of spoils on the other ship. It wasn't as if she needed or wanted any of it. If anything, getting the treasure was like winning. This was all one big, and dangerous, game. And she loved every second of it. It was funny to think that she would have never chosen a life like this for herself. She probably would have stayed a maid forever in her little town and died there too. It was only when Stryker was forced into this position did she find out how much she enjoyed it. The only thing she regrets, is the lack of her family. There are days she misses them so much, it hurts.

With the captains order for the crew to come aboard, she stood up, rifle strapped to her back and walked along the rest of the wooden beam as if it were a trapeze the rest of the way. When she reached the edge, both arms extended, she leaped off and plummeted into the water with an excited squeal. When she first started doing that, she belly flopped more than she entered the water. Now, it was almost as graceful as professional divers. Save the fact that Stryker really isn't all that graceful. She can be when she wants to. But that's no fun, is it?

Stryker climbed onto the ship and took place beside the Antonio with a grin on her face. She playfully saluted him and rolled on the balls of her feet, waiting for a more specific order.

"Hiya Captain!"

"Hey there, Stryker. Would yah' mind helping me transfer all of the spoils? Just go ahead and grab that box right there." Tony points to a wooden crate full of food. He whispers in Stryker's ear, "Tonight, you, the Quarter Master, and myself will have a little feast." He smiles widely. "Be sure not to tell anyone else!" He laughs loudly, then grabs a few crates himself.

"Mmm? Yeah, yeah, I'm good." Crowley said, as he looked off into the skyline. "If I were you, I wouldn't be talking to me right now."

"And why is that?" Heather asked, crossing her arms. "You don't seem like a threat and I can handle my self if someone is after you and decides on attacking me."

Crowley pointed at the pile of bodies behind him with his thumb. "That's why. Pub's over there, and the general store is there. Now, I would leave before they think that you know me."

Heather looked at the strange man, "A wounded dog barking. Look, if you need a job," she pointed at the Sphinx, "Ask the captain of that ship, tell her the first mate sent you." And with that Heather walked away, heading to the tavern.

In a bar in Umma boisterous laughter could be heard. This laughter was coming from a bar, thus from drunkards. In the bar there were two peculiar men that stood out from the rest. They were sitting in the corner table talking and laughing. One was a well known merchant, notorious for being immune to pickpockets and carrying all his money on his person. The other was the much less known captain of the Renascent, Joseph Amida. "My friend, how about I go get you another drink?" Joe said, pretending to slur his words a bit to appear drunk. "Yes, yes my friend more beer please." The merchant was heavily drunk and looked as if he would pass out any moment now. "Bartender, one beer please." The bartender quickly gave him the mug. "Can I get another one for myself please bartender?" With the bartenders back turned and a valid excuse to still be facing the bar, he took out a vile of VX Gas, which despite it's name, was a liquid. He poured it into the merchants cup, the sides of his mouth raised ever so slightly. The bar tender then came back with his glass of beer which he promptly left on the counter. "Here you go, nice and fresh." The merchant proceeded to down the entire mug in seconds, not even spilling a drop. Amida then waited for 60 seconds exactly when the merchant fell out of his chair. Amida hastily caught him before saying, "Sorry, looks like my friend here drank himself unconscious. I'll just take him home myself, okay?." He walked out of the bar into an alleyway, carefully laying him down. "Well, at least your being helpful in the afterlife, right? That's more than a lot of other people can say." Smiling cruelly he took the merchants bulging pouch full of gold, and any jewelry he had on him. Amida then walked backed to the Renascent, basking in all it's glory. "32 cannons on port and starboard respectively, and 4 cannons on the stern. Truly a magnificent ship, eh?" He then walked onto the ship. Alright crew, let's get ready to set sail. We have to leave as fast as possible due to...circumstances that do not involve me!"

Crowley looked at the man walking towards his ship. "Oi. Is that yours?"

Wren followed Joseph. What a shame. She'd really grown to love Umma. Such a lovely city. The woman caught up with him before hearing a man's voice. "Oi. Is that yours?" He asked." Wary, Wren scowled and drew her sword. However, since her captain seemed willing to answer she loosened her grip on the weapon a bit.

[QUOTE="Angel Lucifer]"Why yes it is sir, why do you ask?" He then smiled towards the man in a friendly manner.

"Because it looks like it's gonna be beaten to shit, 'scuse me language." Crowley said, standing up and walking over to the well dressed man. "Trust me, I know me ships. That one," Crowley pointed to Joseph's ship, "Will be blown to splinters as soon as you get on the open sea."

Secretly Joe prepared to hurl the rope dart into the man's head if he so much as made a threatening movement. "Well how do you suppose I make sure my ship doesn't get 'beaten to shit' kind sir?"

Crowley looked at the ship. "Well for one, you haven't got a cutter. Without one, you'll blow a hole in your hull if you go anywhere up north. Next, you 'aven't got any plating around your ship, mate. Sure it looks pretty, but naval warfare ain't a fuckin' beauty contest. If you really want to survive out there, you need iron plating around your cannons and you need to get rid of all of the frilly designs on the side of your ship. Also, no puckle guns. Those'll rip holes in masts and sails, that can be absolutely devistating. Now I can go on, but I dun' want to hurt your feelin's, mate. So I'll leave you at that."

Stryker

"Aye, sir!"

Stryker gave him a wink and stuck out her tongue, before reaching for the box. She might have looked slim, but she was a lot stronger that people took her for. She hefted the box with ease and walked past Antonio, stopping beside him to add,
"Looking forward to it." This time, she gave him a genuine smile before taking the box back to the ship. Along the way, she couldn't help but realize how kind their captain was. Of course, everyone had flaws, and the captain too, but she had heard some pretty bad stories about cruel and horrible captains. Whether it be being drunk all the time and leading their crew into disaster or being unusually cruel and treating their crew very poorly, Stryker was grateful for the captain they had.

It could always be worse right?

@Kyon

"Thank you for the advice kind sir. We do at least have operational covers for the gun ports." He then turned around to walk back to his ship. He sighed as he saw 10 Navy soldiers marching down the street.

"Fuck. You guys get to your ship. Those are for me."

"Nah, it's fun to kill some soldiers every once in a while" He then hurls his rope dart towards the soldiers, nailing one in the head.

"I'll agree with you there." Crowley said, aiming his rifle and shooting. The bullet exploded out of the back of one of the soldiers' heads.

Antonio, after retrieving his fair share of crates, went to a room below the deck with a long table in it. Down there, he set up the table with a table cloth, plates, silverware, wine, and glasses. He prepared some of the food from the goods ship that was raided previously for a calm and relaxing dinner. The sun outside began to set, leaving an orange and pink horizon. The sea seemed to sparkle in Tony's eyes. Tony genuinely smiled, as opposed to his mischievous and menacing regular smile. His eyes relaxed. After everything was finished setting up, Antonio called out, "Stryker! Cody! Come here!"

Joe then yanked the chain of the ropedart forward sending the dead soldiers corpse flying, smashing into his unsuspecting allies back. His head smashed into the concrete killing him on impact.

Crowley flung the hammer back and shot again, hitting two more soldiers. "This is fun."

Stryker

Something a normal person would do right now, would probably be to spiff up. Stryker had seen many girls before do their best to paint their faces and doll themselves up to see handsome lads in town. Well, Stryker wasn't fond of that stuff and this wasn't a date. Besides pirates didn't spiff! But she was a girl, so the least she could do was comb her fingers through her hair and braid half of it down her back. That was something she rarely did. Stryker was more of a free spirited person and that included free clothing and free hair. She was up on deck and the beautiful sunset caught her eye. She leaned over the side and cherished the last rays of sunlight on her cheeks. That was something Stryker could never tired of. The beautiful sunset and sunrise on the ocean horizon. The sound of the captain's voice caused her to jump and she turned her head to where it was coming from. She hurried down to where the captain was and greeted him with a half polite, half playful bow. Stryker loved to play around.

"It looks lovely."

Ween wanted to cover her eyes immediately. But that would show weakness. Sure, she loved humiliating others. Torturing them, even. But taking a life was something she couldn't stand. The girl clenched her teeth, forcing herself to watch.
