I agree an all counts!Nice! Alright!
Here's my thoughts on the soul/ dark side-light side thing. I am really into the idea of magic being harmful to the user if not used properly. Originally, and I still do want to pursue this in more depth when the moment arises - Cassander is going to continue on a path of self destruction. I have an idea about magic I wanted to put out there - more so about its affect on different people. I was thinking about why only certain people can harness magic, and why others can't. We could go with the idea of magic being an energy force like the Force in star wars basically - that certain individuals can tap into (using their souls?). If we asked the Elves why only certain people are privy to it, they'd say it's because the soul in question has reincarnated enough times to be at a certain level of synchronicity with the universe. The Calcians would say its the Creator favoring certain individuals due to the holy plan and destiny and all that jazz. However, I think attaining a level of ambiguity on that part would be good. It could be for either reason, or none of those reasons, or both at the same time.
What I'm really concerned about is the idea that maybe magic affects people in different ways, or in varying degrees. Maybe some people are more vulnerable or open to magical energy, and without understanding how to wield it, their body (mortal vessel) will begin to wear down because their vessel can't sustain the power they're privy to.
The idea of Dark Side vs. Light Side star wars style in terms of giving in or using one's emotions vs. always exercising restraint and control is good, though it does feel a bit restrictive. I'd say there's a grey area. Emotions can definitely be a strength if understood properly, though that can so easily turn dangerous. While excessive control and restraint turns to repression which is also incredibly unhealthy and volatile. Cass sits much more in favor of the emotion/impulse side of things, and his way of using it so far has been destructive.
I love the idea of Kruziik trying to throw Cass off by spouting whatever random stuff comes to mind lol.
I also wanted to discuss other races!I agree an all counts!
Now I have another question! What to the Dwarves believe in? Because I have an idea for a Dwarven Hunter as a side character, not vital to the story, but a cool character to possibly find multiple times. My personal thoughts are the Humans and Dwarves are chill with each other.
!!!! Nice - so Dragon Age style basically? In Dragon Age Dwarves are cut off from the Fade (spiritual plane) so they can't have magic and they're generally not spiritual. Basically what they can see and feel is what they're about.I prefer dwarves to not have any religion, focusing on the real physical world rather than the spiritual.
Pretty much, rather than magic they stick to science. They invented steam power in this universe, and it's a well guarded secret.!!!! Nice - so Dragon Age style basically? So have I...TheCountryWarrior also.... this is unrelated - but I've exclusively pictured Dan's dad as Vito Corleone from The Godfather
Will he also have two swords? One steel, one silver?Actually my Dwarf is a hunter of many creatures, almost like a Witcher now I think about it, but only in that he runs around and kills things for money. I was going to bring him in on the side of the road fighting something after I make him, and when the story is ready.
And let's not forget trolls...
Now he will! Will he also have two swords? One steel, one silver?
Most definitely.HEY! Someone can finally teach Nia how to fight!
*insert training montage*Most definitely.
Good... I will now freely picture Dan as Michael Corleone with certainty. So have I...
