A Change of Heart

Mei felt herself begin to lean forward, smacking her head on the locker door. Jumping back in surprise, she rubbed her eyes, heading to class.

By the time Julia had calmed down and they went to class they were at least fifteen minutes late. He caught Mei's sleepy eyes as he walked in, apologizing profusely to the teacher. "I already checked into the office. Here's my pass."


He took the seat next to Mei. The person who sat there regularly must have been sick.

Mei didn't even notice, her eyes blinking very slowly as she faced forwards. Without any notice, her head fell forward onto the desk, a loud thumping noise sounding though the room. She quickly pulled her head back up and rubbed her eyes. "Stupid coffee maker." She mumbled. She had run out of energy drinks and coffee to keep her going. 
(Just have to say, I like the signature. Kind of creepy though)

Izzy hid his chuckle. Mei was something of a hot mess, but izzy found it cute. He grabbed an apple from his bag and set it on her desk. "Here, have this. I was saving it, but you look like you could use the sugar."

 

[IceQueen]

Mei groaned and took the apple, lifting her head to take a bite out of it. "Thanks." She mumbled.

 

[Tenome]

"No problem. But, wait." He grabbed it back, stole a large bite, and returned it. "Ah, all breakfast in a bite..."


He hoped she didn't mind his cooties on the apple.

Mei was to tired to care, finishing the rest of the apple with greed. But she was still tired.

 

[Tenome]

The class was soon over, and Izzy worries he might have to shake Mei awake. "Hey, wake up sleepy head." He put a hand on her shoulder gently.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei groaned, moving her head to the side and getting up, swaying a bit as she stood.

 

[Tenome]

Izzy's helped to steady her. "What's your next class?"

 

[IceQueen]

Mei groaned, holding a hand to her eye. She soon lurched to the side again, falling forwards.

 

[Tenome]

"Hey, hey, are you okay?" Izzy asked, nervously. He wrapped his arms around her to keep her from falling. "Do you need to go to the nurse's office?"

 

[IceQueen]

Mei didn't respond, as she had passed out while standing.

 

[Tenome]

He groaned, and pulled her into his arms bride style. He wished the teacher hadn't left for the bathroom; he could've used some help. Managing to get the door open with his leg, he walked down the now clear halls and struggled to safely descend the stairs. Finally he got to the office, and the nurse rushed to help him.

Mei mumbled something, her hands clenching into fists and curling in tight to herself.

 

[Tenome]

(You maybe want to help out and be the nurse? I'm like always background characters)

The Nurse took her into her arms, setting her on the cot. She pulled a blanket over Mei, checking to make sure she didn't have a fever. "She is fine. She probably passed out from exhaustion." She said.

 

[Tenome]

"Hmm. Look, she's a good friend of mine, and I wouldn't feel right going back to class while she's like this." He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. "Could you write me a pass to stay here with her?"

 

[IceQueen]

The nurse nodded and wrote him a pass, leaving to take her lunch break.

 

[Tenome]

Izzy sat down in a chair next to her tiredly, and waited for her to regain consciousness.


To pass the time, he pulled out his phone to text Julia. Hey. So, have you asked Becky out yet? Because y'all would be 2 cyoot.


His phone buzzed soon after. Not yet. I'm waiting for the right time. And, why are you so cool about this?


I always knew I was your beard. My gaydar is on point.


Is that why we never had sex? Because is always heard that you did every girl you dated and I thought that it would make me look straight(?) but you never did me.


Well, I only have sex with the girls who want to. You weren't interested in my gender, so why would I make you do that with me?


Izzy sighed. When would Mei get better?

Mei turned over in her bed, curling up into an instinctive ball. She awoke with a start, screaming out loud.

 

[Tenome]

He shot out of his chair to grab her arm. Perhaps a reassuring touch may help, or at least he could keep her from thrashing and hurting herself. "Mei, Mei, it's okay, you're safe!"

 

[IceQueen]

Mei's eyes shot open, feeling her arm in a grip. Her breathing was heavy, but began to slow as she saw Izzy. She blushed and relaxed. "Just you." she mumbled.

 

[Tenome]

"That was insane. Are you okay?" His heart was racing. Her episode had been frightening.

 

[IceQueen]

Mei cracked her neck and nodded.
