[1x1] To High Seas (DrHuggies & SC)

Cassandra, after the man she was fighting fell, returned to piloting the ship towards Kai's own. She glanced back, at the pirate for a few moments, frowning slightly. For a moment, she considered going to help him, figuring that she could stab the man in the back, though she glanced down at the wheel uneasily.

Then, in a few moments, she was making her way towards the two, knife in hand. She jumped, digging it into the man's back and smiling slightly, though she knew it probably wouldn't be enough to bring him down.

The man groaned in pain and shook off Cassandra from his back. He picked her up and threw her into a pole. Enraged, Kai leaped onto the man and brought his elbow into his face. When he stumbled back, Kai followed up with a fist to the mans solar plexus. When he doubled over and crouched forwards, Kai grabbed the mans head and brought it down onto his knee. There was a crunching sound as the mans nose stabbed into his brain, killing him. Kai ran over to Cassandra and lifted her up, brushing the hair from her face.

She yelped as she hit the mass, wincing at the pain that shot through her body. Cassandra just sat there for a minute or so, staring up at Kai as he approached. After another moment, she shook her head, before sighing. "Right, your ship, it should be nearby..." she glanced around, perking up a bit when she saw the ship nearby. "There it is. They'll help us out with the rest of the crew, along with the raiding..." running a hand through her hair, she approached the wheel again.

Kai lay Cassandra down, "you rest for a bit," he then steered the ship beside his own. The boarding hooks were cast onto the ship and Kai's crew boarded the ship, taking everything of value. Kai carried Cassandra into the cabin and lay her down in her cabin.

Cassandra glared up at him for a few long moments. "I'm fine." she protested, sitting up. "Just a bit sore..." she sighed, narrowing her eyes slightly. She'd have to hit him as soon as possible. In the morning, she thought, or when everyone was done with the ship. Cassandra ran a hand through her hair, frowning. "And, this is a shame, I wasn't able to choose my own spoils..."

"I'll make sure you get your fair share of booty," Kai said as he walked out of the cabin. He swung on board the ship and found as many things that he thought Cassandra would like and put them in a sack. After collecting these he placed the sack next to Cassandra's hammock and went to sleep.

Cassandra lay in her hammock quietly, simply staring up at the ceiling in thought as she waited. For a moment, she felt guilty about what she had done to the sailors who so willingly took her in. Then, her mind wandered to the man she had tricked and left behind, who had planned on marrying her. While she didn't mind the thought of marrying Edward if he had a better personality, she didn't really regret leaving her home, either. Perhaps she wouldn't return home after all.

Her thoughts were cut short when Kai entered, placing a bag beside her hammock. She glanced down at it curiously, tugging it open a little and staring at the contents. They would do nicely, she thought, and she'd sort them in the morning. Then, curling up and figuring she'd change when she woke up, she drifted off to sleep.

Kai woke the next morning and decided to go for a stroll on the deck, they were estimated to meet Captain Jace and his crew sometime today, so Kai wanted to be ready. He walked around battle ready, he had everything he needed. He decided to get warmed up so he did some training routines with his crew, to get them fit and ready for the battle.

Cassandra woke shortly after Kai had left, and the first thing she did was get out of her old dress and into her new clothes. Then, sitting against the wall, she started to go through the bag of spoils, picking out what she wanted. She decided to wear a pair of earrings and put on a ring, stashing the rest of what she had for herself. After a weak attempt to fix her hair, she pulled on her hat and grabbed her cutlass and gun, making her way above deck.

As soon as he heard Cassandra come out of the cabin he threw a knife at her. This was her final test. The knife was going straight for her forehead. Depending on what she did the outcome would differ. If she did nothing, she would die. If she ducked under the knife, he would train her in a certain way. If she deflected it with her cutlass, she would be trained differently. If she used her hand to deflect or stop it, he would train her differently, this was a test to see if she was worthy, and how Kai would train her from now on.

Within the first few moments of her stepping out of the cabin, a knife had been thrown at her. She yelped, her eyes widening, and she stumbled back, falling back and hitting the door of the cabin. The knife hit a few inches above her, and she was still for a few long moments, her eyes still wide and unfocused. Then, she stood, glaring at Kai for a few moments. She approached him, smiling slightly. "Oh, very funny, indeed. Tossing me off the ship, throwing a knife at me... is this a pirate's version of 'good fun'? Because you are a complete maniac, if it isn't." Cassandra said, glaring at him. Then, she threw a punch, hoping to get him in the gut.

Kai let her punch him in the gut. "Tut tut tut Cassandra," Kai grabbed her hand and placed it on his solar plexus, "here Cassandra, you punch here for effect, I thought I taught you well, more training." He jabbed her in the solar plexus with his fingers. "The solar plexus is the small part of your stomach just below the ribs in the center of your stomach. Hitting there softly causes mild to extreme winding, hitting it hard can cause them to cough up blood or vomit." Kai explained as Cassandra gasped for breath, "no matter how big they are, hit them there nice and hard." Kai jabbed her again. "Why I threw the knife at you, to see what kind of person you are and how I need to train you from now on," Kai started explaining, "since you dodged the knife I will help you focus on your reflexes and dodging skills, you will defeat your foes using quick precise counter attacks. Don't worry, you will know how to once we are done, if you survive today of course." Kai winked, "so you better get warmed up darling, you don't want to die today do you?"

"You are an awful man..." she muttered, glaring at him as she clutched her stomach. "Awful, terrible man. It would have been easier for me to not join you, you know. Could have accepted the money Edison offered and be done with it..." she sighed, straightening up and glaring at him for a few moments, before sighing. "Warmed up doing what, by the way? What is it you miscreants do to warm up, hmm?" she raised an eyebrow, before glancing around. "No more fighting on masts, I hope."

Kai chuckled, "easier, yes, better, nothings better than a pirate honey, you just have to learn to enjoy it. Grow out of your princess ways. You're dead now, try out a new lifestyle." Kai grinned. "Warming up.. well anyway you want, running, push ups, sparring, i dont care, mingle with the crew." With that Kai ran off and climbed the mast.

She glared at him, watching quietly as he climbed the mast. Then, turning away, she began to pace around the deck. "The nerve of him..." she muttered, looking around for a few moments. "At least, back home, the men were nice and proper... you know, respectful." Cassandra scowled, running a hand through her hair. She didn't want to approach the crew members, so she stood off to the side, observing quietly.

Upon reaching the top of the mast Kai looked over the sea. On the horizon he spotted a small dot. "I see her!" Kai yelled. Today they would be raiding one of Captain Jace's scouting boats. Kai leaped onto a rope and swung down onto the deck. "Come on lads lets prepare her for battle! Chop chop!" Kai yelled as he ran for the wheel. "Raise the flag! Full speed ahead!"

Cassandra yelped, glaring up at Kai for a few moments. "We're fighting already? Don't expect me to do much..." she sighed, approaching and leaning against the mast. "I've hardly been trained, you know. Sure, I could go up against a small child or someone who's never touched a sword, but you've built them up to be quite..." she thought for a moment, her eyes locked onto the water. "Well, dangerous. Are you sure this is a good idea? Doesn't he have a fleet, or whatever you said?"

Kai looked at Cassandra, "i haven't trained you!?" Kai asked in mock shock. "You just didnt listen tut tut tut," he chuckled and turned around. But suddenly he drew his sword and thrust it at her face, a blow that wouldnt kill her if she did nothing, but would still do plenty damage. Kai would be frequently doing this throughout her time on the ship, it was his way of teaching her to be always ready.

She flinched, taking a few steps backwards and drawing her sword. "Hey! I didn't mean you didn't train me at all," she said, glaring at him, her sword still drawn, "I just mean that a few days of training does not a pirate make." Cassandra said, swinging her sword at his. "And, by the way, have I ever mentioned just how much of an awful, terrible, horrible man you are?"

"I think you have mentioned that a few times yes," Kai said smiling, "what did you expect I'm a pirate, all of this is to train you dont you see," Kai turned around and threw his knife at one of his crew that was looking the opposite direction. The knife got awfully close to his head when he suddenly dropped to the ground, the knife whizzing over him. "Train you like that."

"And what if you accidentally killed him?" she glared at him, eyes wide. "God, everyone on this ship is crazy, and I'm now a murderer." she sighed, beginning to pace around. She scowled, in thought for a few moments. "I need more practice. There's no way I can survive a fight with someone properly trained..." Cassandra sighed, sheathing her sword, removing her hat. She ran a hand through her hair a few times as she thought. "Oh, what will I do...?" she muttered.

"If i killed him he wouldnt be worthy of staying on this ship would he," Kai grinned and drew his cutlass. He then grabbed Cassandra's and stabbed it in the ground. "You sure you wanna keep using the cutlass? No other weapon interest you?"

"Well, it's light and easy enough," she said with a shrug, staring at the cutlass. "I don't use many other weapons. Mostly because I don't know how, or I don't have them. I guess I'd have to try things before I know if they interest me..." she sighed, straightening her hat, before leaning against the mast again. "I hope there's no illness on this ship, by the way. You all smell terribly off, but that might just be the fact that you don't bathe or use perfume."

(Erma god sorry for super late reply been reaaaaally busy!!)

Kai smiled and walked away. He didnt answer Cassandra's question. Kai watched the enemy ship intently and waited. He would strike at the roght time. He looked over to see if Cassandra was ready.

She glared at him for a few long moments, before sighing, straightening up and glancing down at her cutlass again. "Figures. You pirates are all so rude. And, you know, I should think that this was a mistake, joining you. Especially since you're basically trying to kill me now." Cassandra sighed, adjusting her hat again. "Here I was, thinking there would be piles of loot in my future, but instead, I get a dirty old ship, a captain that is insane and tries to kill me, and possibly disease-ridden pirates..."
