Lizzy

Lady, running down to the riptide
I was planning to be a mermaid, and who ever would like to join me for this 1x1 could be either a merman, or a human.

I'll make mine now... Question though, will you make a human or a merman?
Name: Halia (Hal-E-ah)

Age: Appears around 15

Species: Mermaid

Powers: Water Manipulation; able to move water

Weapons: None, she doesn't ever fight

Personality: Care-free, very caring and fun. She is usually calm or hyper, so either like a child, or a sophisticated teenager, but that is usually toward strangers. She is very friendly as well.

Other: Around her neck is a necklace that she never removes. It is a painted bone in the shape of a mermaid tail(Much much smaller though, a few inches long in fact). When a word is whispered by the mermaid wearing the necklace, the wearer will suddenly be granted legs. Halia was never meant to be a Semi-Mer however, so when switching she has much pain.

As a human she has a pair of light blue short-shorts and no shoes.

Name: Kyle McMillan

Age: 14

Species: Human

Personality: Quiet around strangers, but typically rowdy when near people he knows. He is rather serious, and doesn't enjoy handing out with people who never take life seriously.

Appearance picture: ((I'll find a good one later, take this for now.)) Small statured with brown eyes and dirty-blonde hair. Always wears a light blue jacket and black jeans

Other: Nothing

Halia was just lazily swimming around in the crystal clear water. She wasn't paying much attention to the things above the surface, but more to the water and ground, which at the moment was very far down and she had to guess where it was. Occasionally she would leap out of the water and dive back in and flick her fin, sending a large spray of water into the air. Without realizing it, she was actually heading toward the nearest shore very slowly. Hopefully as she got closer there wasn't anyone watching the sea...

Kyle sighed as he sat alone on the beach. Soft waves crashed upon the shore, and he began to drift off as the evening air got warmer. His parents were out of town for a week, so he was on his own. They knew he was capable enough to take care of himself, and he did so easily. Grumbling to himself, he made to stand when suddenly he caught a glimpse of something out in the water. Squinting his eyes, he tried to make out what it was.

She dived a few more times, but backwards this time. Water flared up at least 4 feet into the sky, and catching the last of lowering sun, which was just behind her.

Suddenly, after she did her backward dives, she seemed to just disappear. A few moments later her thin and lithe figure came shooting up from the darkening sea. She twisted in circles as she came up, making the water she brought up with her swirl and shoot form her body like fireworks.

The mermaid laughed, a cheerful, ringing noise that echoed around. Then she dived back into the sea to then slowly rise back to the surface and poke her head and shoulders out, scanning the area.

She was in clear sight from the shore, and scanning the sandy area, saw a human staring at her. Fish sticks! She mentally hissed to herself.

((Again, super sorry I've been inactive. Like i said in the Alien's RP, so sorry.))

Rubbing his eyes, Kyle tried to figure out if what he was seeing was real, or some sort of mental breakdown brought on by years of limited human interaction.

Shaking off the feeling he was insane, he pulled off his shoes and began to wade towards the figure slowly, wondering if it would run away at the sight of him.

Halia kept staring, mentally yelling at herself to swim away... But she didn't want to.

The mermaid kept where she was, watching Kyle curiously, but with a guarded and somewhat nervous expression.

As he got closer, he confirmed what he thought. It was a person. But it wasn't human. Beneath the clear water he saw a long, scaled tail that ended in fins. He opened his mouth slightly, as if to say something, but closed it quickly after, finding himself at a loss for words. After a minute, when he found his voice again, he spoke up, slightly stuttering.

"Wha-" He stopped, thinking that asking what she was would be rude. "Who, are you?" He corrected himself, hoping she hadn't noticed his slip up.

Halia eyed him warily. She noticed him correct himself, but pretended she didn't notice and answered instead.

"I'm Halia... Who are you?" She asked, nervousness clear in her tone. Her eyes never stayed still; always darting around behind the human, or scanning his face. It changed from the two every few seconds.

"I'm, Uh, Kyle." The boy couldn't help but notice the creature's constant movements, almost like she was looking for something. "What's wrong?" He asked tentatively.

Slowly her eyes came and locked onto his. "Nothing. Nice to meet you..." She said with a small smile, trying to be friendly.

"Nice to meet you too. So, um, anyways... What are you?" He gestured to her tail, hoping she wouldn't take offense to his question.

"Can't you tell?" Halia asked, trying to hide the nervousness she was feeling. She was scared that this human would try killing her, or telling people so she could be taken onto land and hurt or just killed.

"Well, erm... I don't really want to make assumptions, but are you a Mermaid?" Kyle asked sheepishly, realizing it was fairly obvious what she was.
