Jace sighed before waking up from his daydream about a fallen angel. A loud moan was also heard around the time he woke up. A moan out of lack of sleep. Jace opened one of his hazel eyes to look at Angel. That was when he realised the piece of flowers around his head. He raised one eyebrow and scratched his neck before sitting up.


"I'm sorry" he then said, apologizing for his daydream-state.

 

[EternalMusic]

"As I thought! It actually looks really nice!" Smiling Angel greeted a bird that came along and sat on her shoulder.


After a quick scratch under the chin the bird flew off leaving behind several feathers. Picking them up in joy Angel took the flower crown from Jace's head and began to weave the feathers with the flowers. After she was finished she placed it on the ground and closed her eyes, the crown slowly changed into a bracelet.


"What sort of power have you always wanted?" She asked as she faced Jace.

 

[offbeat]

"I never thought about that since in my world, magic does not exist." Jace simply said while looking at the girl in front of him. With an expression he followed each of her movements with his eyes as she turned the crown into a bracelet. His lips parted once again as he watched the magic of hers.

 

[EternalMusic]

"How about it can be a surprise?"


Slowly she carefully finished the bracelet and asked for Jace's hand, "It might not be your style but this way at least you have something to protect you with."

 

[offbeat]

Jace looked at the bracelet with confusion.


"What do you mean?" With that said, he reached his hand forward and looked at Angels face with a raised eyebrow. Once again, he then looked down on the bracelet again.

"I have never tried it before but it should give you some sort of power if you ever actually need it. Cause you never know here there is lot of things that happen!"


Chuckling she closed her hands around the bracelet and the colour of the bracelet became silver. Angel smiled at her finished product and gently kissed it, "There all done!"

 

[offbeat]

Jace looked at the bracelet with his eyey wide open as she finmished it and kissed it. A small smile apoeared on his lips as he met her blue eyes but he quickly looked away, not wanting to get caught staring at her.

Not noticing the eyes that were on her Angel got up and smiled at Jace, "We should probably go back now. I need to get ready for the ball."


"YOUR MAJESTY!"


Angel turned to face the red faced little man with spikes on his back came running to Angel. Noticing him Angel straightened her posture and the air around her changed and a crown appeared on her head.


Waiting for the man to catch his breath Angel looked at the man's eyes, "What seems to be the problem? WHat has caused such anxiety?"


The little man looked up at Angel and then bowed, "Master Adolpho is here."


Angel frowned and the air around her tensed, He wasn't suppose to be here until the ball and there is a good five hours till the ball, "Is he unharmed Melvin?"


Melvin nodded and straightened his posture, "He asks to have an audience with you. Because he is one of the many suitors-"


"I don't care if he is one of the suitors but I will see him. I will bring Jace with me."


"But your majesty-"


"And that is final Melvin," turning to face Jace the air around her eased sightly, "Sorry Jace but there is going to be a slight change of plans..."

 

[offbeat]

Jace quickly stood up, not letting his eyes of the little man in front of him. The air around hin felt stiff and awkward and made him at unease. He scratched his neck and let his eyes wander off to Angel with a confused expression.


"Wait..what?" He mumbled to himself as he thougt for a second.


"Who's this Alphonso guy and who's that?" He said nodding towards the little guy, apparently Melvin.

"I will explain as we walk," Angel motioned to follow her and began to walk towards the castle, "This is Melvin, Melvin is one of my trusted advisors. Actually... He is my only trusted advisor. Adolpho is one of my so called suitors for the throne. Of course I would never marry anyone I wasn't in love with but he is still a good friend. Oh we are nearly were we are suppose to be!"


Angel turned to face Jace and closed her eyes and placed her hands in JAce's hands and began to whisper an incantation, "There all done. Now you can go in there without a worry."


Quickly she whispered another incantation and her dress was changed into a beautiful white gown with white jewels, "Just so you know his name means "noble wolf" so don't be surprised when you see him."

Jace followed her until she stopped and turned around towards him, grabbing his hand. As Angel mumbled those words, a slight spark was released in his palm and released a kind of magic that changed his outfit to a more classy one. A white shirt along with a pair of black trousers and a pretty slim vest. Jace silently rolled up the sleeves of the shirt, giving him more of a causual and relaxed look. After that, he continued to follow Angel towards the building.

Opening the doors wide Angel made her grand entrance.


"Queen Evangeline is here."


Smiling at the guards and the maids in the room Angel made her way to her throne and ushered Jace to sit beside her, "Make sure not too say a word alright?" whispering to Jace quickly before facing the humanoid wolf standing before her.


"Adolpho, what brings you here so early to the ball," the slight menace in her voice slipped but her quick bright smile covered it up.


The young man bowed and looked back at Angel, "Pardon my intrusion my Queen but I wanted to get a chance to see you before the ball."


Before the ball? Angel rolled her eyes in her mind. You want something else but that is not going to happen.


"Oh is that right Adolpho. Unfortunately I am busy at the moment so you will have to wait,"


The wolf glared at Jace and then smiled sweetly at Angel, "Of course my queen this was very rude of me to appear without prior notice. Well I hope that you won't mind but may I get a tour of this castle?"


Angel looked at Melvin, "Melvin will give you a tour and will attend to you for the time being. As I said earlier I have prior commitments so parden me as I excuse myself."


Quickly Angel got up and ushered Jace to follow her as they quickly escaped from the room.

Jace sat down next to Angel in a rush before the wolf, appearently Adolpho walked inside. The grey fur of his covered almost his entire body, at least what was visible since he wore clothes. Jaces eyes wandered from head to toe of the creature, meeting his yellow eyes that were glaring at him a few times, eyes that were filled with irritation and a hint of anger. A shiver ran down Jaces back and he bit his bottom lip before Evangeline rushed out of the room, giving Jace a sign to follow him. With a rush he walked out of the room, ending up a bit after her.


"Hey wait" He yelled as he ran after her.

As soon as they had exited the room Angel changed both of their clothes back to normal.


"HE IS SOOO ANNOYING!!" Angel shouted and ruffled her hair madly, "Every time something comes up he appears and asks me to do such irratating things! Ahhhhhh!!!!"


Not waiting for Jace Angel made her way to their room.

 

[offbeat]

Jace ran after Angel towards their room and stopped her just outside the door by grabbing her hand.


"Calm down, he can't be that bad. He seems nice" He said as he let go of her hand while breathing heavily after the running. His legs weakened and he fell down on his knees.


"God, I can't believe I ran up all those stairs" With that said, he drew one hand through his hair, removing it from his face.

Placing both hands on Jace's cheeks, Angel squished his face.


"Yes yes he is that bad. You try living your life with a girl who won't stop bothering you with every chance she gets! Wait... that's me... Sorry Jace."


Exhausted from all the excitement Angel joined Jace on the floor placing her head on his shoulder.

 

[offbeat]

"Trust me.. I've lived with people worse than him" Jace panted.


"It's better to have someone who bothers you than to have someone not caring about you" He said with a low voice after he caught his breath and looked up in the ceiling. A golden chandelier was hanging down just above them, making the sunlight spread all over the hall.

Snuggling up to Jace Angel peaked up at his face and made a noise that meant that she agreed with him. Deciding that it would be better to leave the matter alone Angel let him stay silent and she kept her head on his shoulder listening to his breaths.

 

[offbeat]

Jace continued to stare at the ceiling, thinking about weither it was a good decision to leave. Allthough he hated the man he once called father, he couldn't help to feel sorry for him. His father had no control over his life, no job, and ordered Jace to do everything. But now that Jace was away, he was all alone, drinking and probably failing with his life.


Jace frowned when he thought about it, and a slight headache reached his forehead.

"You okay Jace," Angel lifted her head from his shoulder and looked at him worriedly, "Does your head hurt?"


Angel felt his forehead and noticed that it was slightly warm, getting on to her knees she placed her forehead against his.


"You have a fever, you should lie down," Getting up Angel lifted Jace up and helped him into his room.

 

[offbeat]

"No, I'm fine" He said and stood up, acting completely normal. When Jaces and Angels eyes met, he quickly looked away.


"In fact, I've never felt better" He simply said while lighting a cigarette and placing it between his dry lips.

Snatching the cigarette away Angel frowned at him, "Jace you need to have more self control, if you are going to suck on this thing and hurt your lungs at least do it less often and yes you do need to sleep, I can't have yo fainting during the ball."


Lying him down Angel closed her eyes and cooled down his temperature and removed the smoke in his airways.


"Please don't hurt your self," Angel looked at Jace's hands and touched them lightly.

 

[offbeat]

"Please Angel, I'm fine." Jace said and sat up from the bed he just was pushed onto.


"I'm nott going to faint during the ball, I promise" He continued and gave her a serious expression.

Angel sighed and looked back at Jace's stern expression, "Okay. If you say so."

 

[offbeat]

"Hey, there's no need to worry about it." Jace then said with a smile and put his hand over hers. His smile widened a little bit so that his white teeth was visible.


"It's not like I'm deadly sick, besides, you should also rest a little bit. You look slightly tired" Ha said and blinked once.
