Ah, I misread Silence In Daylight's comment above to mean that it was a one dot. In that case by all means stack it with martial arts. You payed for it. :-)
A third camp (that I just made up) would be:
The restriction on martial arts is not a restriction due to bulk but rather a thematic restriction. As such, any added armour would render the charms non-working, simply because of the inherent condition that no armour be added.
In my opinion, an...
Either charm cards or a condensed write-up of charm effects and where to find them listed is usually a must-have for me. I never found the space given on the character sheet adequate for charm listing.
Ha! That is fucking brilliant. Ambassador and bodyguard in one. And a nice maneuver on his part too. Each his own game but I really don't understand why you have made these house rules. On the other hand I don't understand the need to keep your character sheet secret from other players either...
Specialty: Blind fighting.
Charm: Surprise Anticipation Method.
Perhaps also some kind of spirit sight. Anything that let's you perceive the immaterial with the use of essence would supercede lack of eyesight in my opinion. Obviously this wouldn't grant you sight of the material world but it...

Since you haven't mentioned anything about the finances since then (not that I've noticed anyway) I assume that either:
* Everything is well and good, or
* You could use (or at least wouldn't mind) a bit of coin so you aren't stuck alone with the bill but you don't...
If you get to stack both it leaves a question: Would you reduce the soak before or after applying the piercing effect? Reducing afterwards obviously allows for a much stronger effect. I think reducing first would be the more balanced thing to do though.
Another suggestion: Non-piercing weapons...
Sorry for the reference without source but I seem to recall that this bonus was changed to be a +3 on speed instead of a halving of the penalty. I presume the reason is that the usual penalty is 6 points thus giving the samme effect.
I'd say no extra because I'd consider the baby part of the mother since it's living off her resources.
I voted one point though for that extra rubbing in of the abyssal theme.
