  • I'm not in game design now, but I plan on using live action cutscenes for certain games, where does live action video belong in a video game without it being a gimmick *ahem 3do*

I personally think they're best under some form of isolation away from the actual gameplay, as a background to an overall narration explaining recent events or as a tool to revise how something was portrayed in-game; As an example, in Star Wars Battlefront cut scenes were used from the movies around story battles, emphasizing the ensuing event with greater graphic detail while keeping it's distance from the gameplay so that things didn't feel very inconsistent. Of course, that's just an example of how I didn't find it gimmicky, not really doing much to improve it, and I'm not a professional being paid for an opinion.
Video game music of the day:

It always blows me away seeing and hearing dos cd-rom titles. From polygons in wip3out to creating a rock synth background music

Honestly the soundtrack from the Original XCOM was better, but the two new ones have much better gameplay.

Though DOS was before my time, I can still appreciate what it could do. But when it comes to video game music from a computer, the ultimate was the commadore 64.
    RP nation tropes

fantasy RPs: mimics medical Europe while trying to be like skyrim

Realistic/modern RPs: normally set in high schools and have tropey characters designed to circumvent insecurities of the RPer.

Futuristic RPs: is almost always set in a spacecraft while trying to be like Star Trek.
Say, what do you all want in an RP?

There aren't any particular themes which come to mind, as I generally go with the flow. I do tend to lurk around RPs with twists and suspense.

Some action would be pretty fun.

I'm not a fan of medieval or high fantasy settings but I love modern settings and lots of action. Mercenaries, vigilantes, war, survival horror, that sort of stuff.
If electronics could become enchanted, which gadgets would you enchant?

To enchant meaning to put magic on an electronic device, like enchanting your phone with durability, enabling your tv to be used as a Chrystal ball, potion making with a coffeemaker etc.

I would enchant all of my gadgets. My first task for them would be "WORK!!!"

I would enchant my special sword.

It is battery-powered and shocks people, so why not enchant the sword to make it better than a Taser Blade?
Now, if children in non-English speaking countries need to learn English by the age of ten or so. What language should natively English speaking children know at a similar age?

Spanish, since that's most likely what they'll be coming in contact with the most.

Think about Europe. Most of its countries are small, about the size of American states. They come into contact with folks from all over the world, and a lot of the unifying languages there which are learned are English, French, and Spanish. They get a lot more traffic than we do from non-natives of whatever European country you want to name. Us on a regular basis? Really not as varied as much. So, my vote would be for Spanish, since we've got a fair amount of native Spanish speakers already.

    Couldn't hurt.

The most commonly spoken language is Chinese apparently because China is out-of-control huge. Second most common is Spanish so I'll have to back the Captain is actually kinda correct. Spanish would probably be most convenient.

Spanish speakers in the US beat Chinese speakers by just over 34,000,000. So it makes more sense by a lot to teach kids Spanish as a second language here in the States, since that's the other language they'd be coming in contact with the most.
Remember: If any insanely difficult things come up, it's all because of your choices that drastically affect the roleplay. Each choice has its benefits, though.

The scenario you're in right now gets the most EXP and also gets a unique item, but you encounter a challenging enemy.

If I was in fact God then I wouldn't make it any different obviously. After all, the traits that make up God don't leave margin for error: the best possible way to do it is exactly the way he did it.
Whitch of the following execution divices make the best symbol for a religion: A cross, an axe, a rope, a greatsword, a gullitine, an electric chair or a syringe.

Why would the symbol of a religion be an execution device?

The cross in christianity was an execution device in roman times as crucifixion wasn't just use on. Jesus, but on any capitol offender that warranted it, so I'm exploring what other execution devices would be fitting for a religion.

My biggest critique of highschool RPs: continuity is virtually nonexistent & it goes from before class to  first period to lunch by virtue of many out of sync posters.

Because, roleplaying the class part is probably not the most interesting and the interaction really cannot happen during those parts.

I get that, but there's often no clear indication of a transition between times of the day/week.
