Chaska touches Woodstock. "Cut it out!" cries the warbirb. "I DO NOT taste like chicken!" =)

Ha ha ha! 8D

I am going to give everyone a little more time to post IC before moving forward with the game.

Sherwood, thanks for the Well-written! =)

It is well earned! I love the way you write.

I would suggest some of the Scutigera mobile Migs. They are small, lightweight, and do a lot of damage in comparison to their size. The Self-Propelled Grenades are another good choice. They do less damage, but you can carry more of them before any issues of encumbrance come up. For your other weapon options, the Shield Cracker Rifle is an excellent choice.
Sherwood Sherwood Hmm! I didn't expect him to recommend gear. I've already taken the BIO-E for Woodstock and Chaska (20 divided between them).

We got the BIO-E because we didn't get guns. Sherwood, what do you want to do here?

I’ll split up the loot for you guys like this: the grenades and bug bombs are one set, the sidearm and rifle is another. You can take bio-e in place of one of these and still get the other. So, if you wanted a shield cracker, don’t take the grenades and that will do it.

Jin has been carrying a Shield Cracker Rifle for some time now (and still does) but we have not run into anything that uses a shield since she got it.

Actually you have. You guys have just wiped them out without worrying about a shield and gone on your way.

I can try to make sure to include more shield-using foes to make do you can use it more.

I remember that battle. It made me wonder if the shield-crackers were practical.

I mean... why wait entire Melee Rounds to drop a shield when you can drop it in less than one with much harder-hitting conventional guns like the heat cannons?

The only answer I can come up with is that if somebody tried to turn a shield off and turn it back on, the shield-cracker prevented that, but then again if shields worked that way on our end (when they get low l, just flip a switch off-and-on and their back to full power again), that's opening the door to serious rule abuse.

Not that I would expect anyone here to abuse rules, but I just don't like the option in general - it goes against my way of playing.

Honor and fun,
Purr =)

If I were running a Splicer's game like this one l, I bet I would be highly-tempted to turn that Dino-hound pack - or rather its Alpha - into a running joke.

So the next time Cerberus is in that area that very same pack tries to jump us, they've been laying in wait! This time they're going to get us! That's the alpha's plan!

Because now they have something new to aid them!

They were already heat-resistant, right? Now, they have found some way to get... shields! This will make the difference!

But what the dino-hounds haven't learned - and never do - is that Cerberus knows to only hit the alpha.

The alpha, being dumb, shows up again and again with all manner of new powers for his pack... sharper claws, biggrr fangs, each new merting the pack has some new power that will assure victory - except he never understands that Cerberus knows to take him down first is to win. =)

He just keeps coming back, time after time, with the same old strategy thinking that new powers will make a difference. Heh! =)

Yeah, I could make that a fun running joke!

In the description of the shield cracker, it does say that if you try to drop the shield, it cannot be turned on again for several minutes. That does help it be a more useful weapon. But I have noticed that with this group, especially Toni’s dreadnought armor, just hitting it hard is a viable option.

I have noticed another thing about Splicers in general. It is a much lower level of damage game compared to, say, Rifts or even Robotech. So when you are faced with a heavy shield of a couple hundred points, having your foe drop a shield makes a big difference.

Very true. I noticed that the big guns of the game don’t do as much damage as the heavy weapons in Rifts. Splicers is a lower level game but still lots of fun.

much damage as the heavy weapons in Rifts.
Yes and no, the scaling in all the different rifts books is a bit wonky for sure. I remember when there was like a heavy rifle that did 6D6 and that was considered a lot..until we started getting things like the infamous Wilk’s 457 “I do 1D6x10 MDC in a burst” gun and we will not even talk about Phase World

How about that rifle in Rifts South America that uses an entire Mega-clip in one blast? Ha ha! Talk about BOOM!

What is the damage coming that bad boy? 3D4x10 M.D. or some such? Jeez-Louise! =)

Sherwood Sherwood

Cerberus is supposed to be getting to know these shell bombs for use while in their host armor, right? Does that mean that Cerberus is wearing their host armors now?

I have been under the assumption that they never took their host armor off since arriving at Avalon
