My Interest Check
Hello hello! I'm so sorry if this is a "just me" thing or a "just you and the 5 other people you talk to" thing, but I'm afraid that something has broken some excellent BBCodes on the site.

It was first brought to my attention via this placeholder code by xayah. Now, the play button on the music player used to be centered, but now it is skewed right for reasons unclear. The "best" solution at the moment is to add a pause icon and hope it doesn't look too weird, but otherwise nothing fixes the alignment. The post has not been changed; the code has not been changed. Yet when you load the page with the code, that button jumps to the right 😭

(I can confirm that I have tried it on Chrome and Firefox.)

Next up is one of the lovely codes from the nine lives café. (First link is the original code post, the next one is an example of it in action where I noticed/investigated the problem.) The scrolly bit in the second tab, specifically near the bottom, refuses to scroll on Chrome and on Android phones. Firefox and iPhones seem to have no issue. (It's a small part of the code, but it's very confusing.) The code itself has not been changed since 2021, and the lovely Gao has confirmed they have not done anything to the code to cause an issue with the scrolling. What's really odd is how it seems to be Google-based browsers/devices having the issue with this one.

So I guess the overarching question is: was there an update to BBCode itself? Or to the site's structure? What would cause issues like this? Are all BBCodes in danger? I thought it would be best to bring this up before more and more of our wonderful members' codes start to bite the dust. Thank you for reading through this, and thank you in advance for any insight! <3

Yes, It is likely that Chrome and Android don't work well with the BBCode in the threads you provided, I don't think it was anything updated but if this worked well before then something was probably changed. Chrome has always been a little picky when it comes to these kind of interactive things. I will use Chrome and other browsers, then run some tests on Android just to find solutions. However, for these kind of issues you should probably use another browser/device that works well with the BBCode.

Please give me a second. :)

Ah, yes, I forgot to mention that the codes I linked/mentioned worked just fine before on Chrome and Android! I'm not sure when it started but the placeholder's "change" was pointed out/mentioned to me a few weeks ago. It also does not work on Firefox.

Yeah, this is probably a bug on the site after a update or change was made! I hope it gets fixed ASAP.

There was no site updates recently that touched BBCode.
Since you mentioned it's only an issue on Chrome, it could be because of browser updates.

At least for the one code, it was definitely a Chrome thing, but the placeholder code also looks off on Firefox, which is why I ask!

Something similar has just happened in my threads as well. Are there updates going on? :/ Don't know why else it would've changed x.x

There have been no site updates in relation to the bbcode engine currently.

Could you link a thread, so I or Alteras Alteras can take a look?

Thanks for checking! So far I've only noticed it happening in this fantastic code of Nano's (which, admittedly, I have been using everywhere lately)- the code suddenly acquired a horizontal scrollbar out of nowhere; very strange.

(I am using Mozilla Firefox on a PC laptop, if that helps.)

Interesting, I'm not sure why, I'll take a more in-depth look, I'm using Zen (firebox based), so I see it. I also tested Chrome and it does it as well.

the code to mark our return (╯✧▽✧)╯
this is a pleasant little character sheet code that features hidden tabs, a music player as well as hidden scrolls on almost all textboxes! it's also mobile-friendly, which is truly the highlight of it all \(^ヮ^)/ a cute-looking code made to the tune of an apocalyptic ost!

some special details you should note: the basics info is in an accordion -- click on the big picture on the first page! also put nicknames only in the big name on the first page, since any more than 4/5 letters will just have your name be cut off. and yes, only being able to click the edges of the accordion while content is visible is a known issue, i just can't fix it!!!! (/▿\ )

it's an extremely long code, so be careful with it! if you run into any issues don't hesitate to let us know! ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ

as always, enjoy! (*^^*)♡

I was able to the tabs semi-working on this one by adjusting the height. Using a percent isn't playing nice with the overflow-y: hidden or overflow: hidden. I was also able to get the one on top of the second box to work briefly, but it required removing the images. I don't know what solved that, but obviously that would kill the aesthetic of the coding. This would lead me to believe that using pixel-perfect positioning for the heights instead of percent values all the way through would be necessary to make the code work with hidden scrolling as intended. Notably, I was also able to make the code work just turning it into overflow: scroll, but obviously that ruins the whole thing. lol

The pause/play button post for Xayah worked for me first try, but I do have a suspicion as to what that might be. In the past, I've ran into issues where my bookmarks tab, when opened, just jumbles certain coding, including media buttons and more importantly specifically media. I wasn't able to recreate the issue you described, but the code was really neat nonetheless.
