Dayle looked at the others as he scratched his chin, already expecting their answers. "Figured as much..." He sighed, disappointed that he couldn' do any fishing. After all, if one was to be in a boat, they couldn't miss the opportunity to catch some marine life, and maybe cook them for a good meal. He looked at Dreayth as he made his opinion. "You try jumpin down. See if you can catch one while the boat's- what in the gods damn are those?" He immediately pointed at the apes jumping aboard, rocking the ship as they landed. His footing wavered a bit, but Dayle composed himself and grumbled in annoyance. "Fucking monkeys! You lot!" He pointed at his men, who were already getting ready to engage. "Throw them off the boat- HEY!" Dayle couldn't finish his command as Dreayth's comment reached his ears.

[Defend: Red Star Cronies]
One of the Red Star men hurriedly went to Julia's side, with their saber drawn and keeping on the lookout against any stray ape.

[Attack: Red Star Cronies - Strength D - Basic Swordsmanship F]
The remaining nine Red Star men hastily drew their sabers and began hacking at the apes. Some even forgo finesse and opt for a contest of strength, with multiple of them against an ape. They made sure to face off against those that weren't already engaged with the others from the group, most likely fending off apes at near the containers, boxes, and other cargo.

[Move: Towards the cargo]
Dayle immediately rushed towards the cargo. The lackey that was holding his chains stopped and threw them at Dayle, who then caught them easily as they wrapped around his arms. "Ugh... I can't tell if fighting monkeys is better than fighting people." He muttered as his footsteps rang along the deck.

The riverboat’s deck transformed into a vortex of chaos as large, unruly apes launched themselves from the lush riverbanks, descending onto the ship with fierce aggression. Their sudden intrusion sparked a swift and resolute defense from Julia’s companions, each reacting with precise and brutal efficiency.

Hiroshi’s response was immediate; with a swift, decisive kick, he sent one of the bulkier apes tumbling back into the swirling river below, causing the nearby primates to pause and reconsider their approach towards his fortified position. Nearby, Naori displayed remarkable agility, his dagger finding its mark in the eye of an ape that dared to climb the ship’s side. The ape’s pained screech echoed briefly before it plummeted into the water, its retreat deterring others from a similar fate. Dayle wielded his chains with the skill of a seasoned gladiator, creating a barrier of fear and metal around the crate he was assigned to protect. The clashing sound of his chains melded with his fierce shouts, warding off any bold enough to challenge him. Dreayth was successful in eviscerating one of the apes. Piercing through its torso as if it were a snowman.

In the midst of the turmoil, Julia faced her own peril. As she edged back toward the safety of the cabin, a disoriented ape landed heavily behind her. Instinctively, Julia plunged her dagger into the beast. The wounded ape thrashed wildly, its powerful limbs flinging Julia against the ship's wall with a thud. In its blind rage, the ape ripped the dagger from its flesh and staggered off the deck, disappearing into the frothy waves. The captain came running from the back of the ship brandishing a long pole. His sweeping motions with the pole were both defensive and balletic, ensuring the area became cleared of the chaos.

As the last of the apes retreated and the riverboat steadied on its course, the crew began to assess the damage and calm their frayed nerves. The hull, though scarred from the encounter, held strong against the river's currents. Captain Lysander, surveying the deck, spotted the disheveled figures of his passengers and crew, their faces etched with the day's tensions.

Julia, leaning against the cabin’s wall to catch her breath, noticed the captain approaching. His gait was steady, a testament to years navigating these unpredictable waters. "Well, that was quite the excitement, wasn't it?" he remarked, trying to lighten the mood with a wry smile. "Perhaps we could use a quieter evening to recover."

Julia nodded, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Indeed, Captain. Dayle suggested earlier that we might try fishing for dinner. Fresh fish might just be the perfect way to end this tumultuous day."

Captain Lysander chuckled, the idea appealing to his seafaring nature. "A splendid idea! Boys, gather the nets and fishing gear. Let’s see what the river has to offer tonight. It'll be good for everyone to focus on something peaceful." The two young men from the back rushed to come out from their hiding, to bring the poles and net as asked.

Below deck, in the dimly lit cabin, the air was thick with the smell of medicine and brine. Each roll of the ship sent sharp pains through Thaddeus, causing his face to twist in agony. The infected wound on his shoulder throbbed intensely, mirroring the turbulent waters outside. Whizzie’s healing hands cast a soft glow over the injury, his skill, "Dose of Love," manifesting as a warm aura that tentatively soothed the inflammation. Though Thaddeus winced initially, the pain slowly ebbed, the vivid redness of his wound fading to a less threatening shade. However, beneath the surface, a deeper battle raged unseen, as the infection stubbornly persisted in his bloodstream.

Thaddeus's eyes opened, glassy and distant, as he looked up at Whizzie through a haze of pain and fever. "Wish...you could teach...my daughter...how..." he began, his voice weak and trailing off. His thoughts drifted to his daughter, a healer unaware of the grim reality her father faced, his words tinged with delirium.

Drawing a labored breath, Thaddeus attempted to speak further, but fatigue overcame him, and his eyelids fluttered shut. His body relaxed into a fitful sleep, granted a brief respite by Whizzie’s efforts.

Hiroshi scoffed as his kicks ended up making the creature tumble back towards one of the edges of the boat, falling into the river. Looked that at least some of his skills weren't dulled by coming into this world. Fixing his shades, he took one of his hands out of his pockets and ran it through his hair, backwards, fixing it, while his eyes scanned the other primates which, apparently, had become too wary to approach him. A mysterious grin was kept trained on his lips, as he began shifting his stance, while he waited for a possible counter-attack from the animals.

However, that never came to pass, thanks to the conjoined assault on the creatures from Dayle, Dreayth and Naori, even Julia had joined the fray. And, what appeared to seal the deal was the captain, flailing and moving a pole around, with a mastery which Hiroshi didn't expect. I guess it paid off not judge a book solely by its cover, as he had been doing so far. "Hah! That was interesting to say at least! Gotta scratch 'fight monkeys' from my bucket list!" He joked, in a loud, rumbling voice, laughing to himself about how crazy that situation was. Well, that was a crazy world, to say at least.

Still, some things were still lingering on his mind: Whizziemin adding the 'senpai' honorific when the incubus addressed him. Was he also someone out of this world? That would be quite interesting if it were true. Maybe he would have the opportunity to ask the incubus about it, either during this escort job or the future date. Furthermore, he also thought about Dreayth's answer to him, where did Hiroshi think the trio of brothers were from? He still didn't have enough knowledge of all the countries to make a guess. Hiroshi appeared to be in deep thought, while the white smoke from the cigarette kept leaving his mouth, towards the skies.

His attention was brought back to the present moment, when, once more, fishing was mentioned. He guessed it could be a fun pastime and fresh fish was something which he was craving. "Fishing it is then. Let's see if it is like riding a bicycle..." He muttered, grabbing one of the fishing poles, wondering if he still had it in him. Then again, he couldn't shame his fishing heritage. Walking to one of the edges of the deck, he first would throw his almost finished cigarette into the river, before launching the line and hook, complete with a bait, into the water. He began whistling, nonchalantly, while waiting for something to bite.

To his surprise, it didn't take long for it to happen. He would soon feel a massive pull on the line, which made him immediately try and pull the fishing rod backwards. However, as soon as he did, the rod began to bend, dangerously so, threatening to possibly snap. "What the hell?!" He exclaimed, quickly shifting his hold from the rod to the line itself, wrapping it around his right hand, while his left began to tug on the line. At that very moment, the yakuza was on a battle himself, wondering what sort of creature had bitten his lure. His right foot would soon need to find purchase on the side rail of the deck, to give him better leverage.

That was nothing short of a contest of who was going to get tired first: Hiroshi or the fish. The line which was wrapped around his right fist began to cling against his flesh, making him bleed, which made him smirk with the thrill of whatever he was about to catch. He kept letting the creature pull back the line slightly, before dragging the fishing line against him. That went on for many minutes, until finally, he found the perfect opportunity when he felt that the tugging coming from the fish had weakened. In that singular moment, the yakuza turned his body towards the deck, pulling all line over his shoulder with all his might.

The fish would come flying over him, hitting the deck with a loud, reverberating thud. During the pull, he had lost some of his balance and, as soon as he got it once more, his eyes focused on his own catch. "A... shark...?" He muttered, almost speechless with what he had managed to catch. Wrapping the line from his bleeding hand, he approached the shark, which was trashing and trying to move around in desperation. There was a big smile on his lips, looking at the mighty creature. It was clear that his fishing knowledge was still much present in him. "Now, this is a catch!" He said, full of confidence and a hint of pride, forcing one foot on top of the shark to stop it from moving around too much, while it suffocated. "A good part of dinner was already secured by yours truly." He said, keeping the smile on his face, while he looked at the others.

After the fighting with the monkeys, Naori dipped his bloodied dagger into the water, watching as the blood stains were washed away in the river. Naori didn’t need to move his hand around, as the dagger was able to swish around in the water in tandem with his dagger, which he really only needed to hold there in the end as a result. He picked his dagger up and went back to the group, seeming like the monkeys had been swiftly dealt with. He had made it in time for the mention of fishing. He grabbed one of the fishing rods from the crew and examined it.

“Suppose it would murder time until we made it there….”

He mumbled before adding.

“But if we catch a poisonous one, can I keep some of its poison?”

He asked as he prepared the rod and then proceeded to cast it into the water and began to fish. The bobber floated as he waited for the tug. When the tug came, he wasn’t having as difficult of a time as Hiroshi did. The fish tugged. Naori tugged back. Fish tugged. Naori tugged back. So on so forth, the thing also seemed lighter than what Hiroshi was dealing with based on how the strings were tugged. It did not take long for him to catch it. He dropped his rod and grabbed it by its particularly colorful tail. It wasn’t a bad catch. Naori watched almost boredly as the fish struggled out of its element, slowly suffocating in the air as it snapped around helplessly. Naori wasn’t phased at all. It was a colorful fish which he did not know the name of. However, it was brightly color with bright shades of green, blue, purple, pink, and if he looked close, enough turquoise. It was also roughly 5ft in length.

“Caught something.”

Whizzie couldn't help but smile at Naori finding the premise of the boat being attacked by monkeys truly was ridiculous, though that'd be something he'd have to see for himself when he went out. Going ahead and spending some time trying to heal up Thaddeus, his efforts would prove more successful than before as he noticed the wound look visually better than before. Peacefully waiting to see what would happen while ape-brained people battled people-brained apes on deck, he was surprised to see Thaddeus awake for a moment even if his gaze wasn't looking too good. Simply listening to what he had to say with a small warm smile, he only huffed a small giggle under his breath.
"It's okay, Mister Thaddeus, just rest up for the moment. Pushing yourself won't do you any good" he murmured in a soft tone, at least hoping that he would be able to recover and turn out better even though the major medical attention he may have needed perhaps wasn't of access to them anytime soon. Letting the man fall back to sleep, Whizzie sighed softly wondering who his daughter was anyway. There didn't seem to be anyone else who could heal on the ship, outside of Naori who Whizzie debated he couldn't even consider healing to begin with much rather than some sort of kid's doctor play-pretend. Ruminating on the thought, maybe it'd be something that Julia or such knows.

Stretching his legs, the incubus couldn't hear such conflicting sounds from outside and wondered if it was all over. Plus, it'd probably be good to tell people what condition the man was in for the moment. Taking a step outside to see it really was all over, he gave a smile and little wave.
"Hope that you all had fun doing what you were doing, I gave ol' Daddeus inside some help, he opened his eyes for a little moment but he's back resting now. I take it everything went well enough?" he asked aloud, noticing that some of them had taken to fishing now that it was over. Huh, guess they did have stuff for fishing after all. Wondering how much of Naori was just doing things for the sake of doing or if he was actually having any fun at all under his stone-faced emotions, Whizzie wondered if the kid'll ever cheer up in the slightest.
"That's a pretty one, Naori, it's probably rare or special" Whizzie said with a smile, not wanting to sound demeaning with it but not sure how to even treat him at this point, looking to Hiroshi's rather impressive catch that he had saw the personal battle with. There were probably a lot of ways he could phrase or talk about this, but just chose to keep it simple.

"Oh, that's a big one, just as I'd expect of a man like you, Hiroshi-senpai~! Takes a big, strong man whose good at chances to bring that one up all of a sudden. Though, I'd hope a big catch like that isn't trying to compensate for something~" Whizziemin grinned with a devious little smirk, humming and giggling quietly as he wondered what sort of response he'd get out of Hiroshi with such a comment. Though, one thing was still on his mind, of which he turned to Julia.

"Hey, ma'am, if I may ask, who's Daddeus' little girl? He spoke of his daughter a little moment when he was awake, any idea who she is?" he asked, unsure if she would have an answer or not. It was at least worth a shot.

Neramo Omnipotenti Malus
1707927863588.png
Neramo discarded one of the monkeys that they had been fighting, tossing it overboard with a frown on his face. Such things were beneath him, this whole trip was beneath him, but he was here because his brothers were, and it was his duty as the eldest to look after them. He watched the fight with the monkeys finish up, and turned to his brother when he began to speak, sighing a moment and trying to drown it out. His brother was so shameless in his interest in this... Hiroshi person.

Neramo decided to try fishing some to blend in himself, standing beside Hiroshi when they fished, deciding to answer his question finally. "My name is Neramo. As you've already surmised I'm the older brother of Dreayth and Whizzie. We come from elsewhere yes, but I don't feel comfortable sharing where exactly yet." He said, answering the question with hopefully understandable enough answers to avoid the topics that Neramo didn't want shared for their original goals, since he could very well lie, but lies had holes that could be poked through if he started asking his brothers, so it was best to avoid the topic for the time being.

When he pulled up his fish, there was a small impact across his face as despite getting a large catch, the fish had the audacity to slap him, whereupon some of his anger issues boiled up and he used his flames to scorch a hand shaped print in the fish, slamming it on the deck. His horns glowed with flame when he used his ability, before the flame died out when he stopped using his magic.
"Vermin, barely worth eating." He spat in annoyance at the slap, before looking at what the others caught.

As dusk draped its velvet cloak over the riverside, Julia retreated inside, leaving Whizzie to step out into the cooling air. The captain, undeterred by the shifting shadows, diligently arranged his makeshift cleaning station, readying himself for the evening's catch. In the back, the two boys rekindled the embers of their mysterious apparatus, their movements stealthy and deliberate. One boy paused to retrieve a pulley, their silhouettes mere whispers against the sunset.

The cacophony from earlier—a surreal concert of gorillas indulging in fruit—now seemed a distant dream, replaced by a serene quiet that hugged the riverside. When Hiroshi triumphantly hoisted a shark from the depths, and Dayle along with Naori presented their rainbow fish, the captain's elation was palpable.

"Well done fellows, well done! We'll eat well tonight for certain!" he exclaimed, his voice a mix of pride and relief. He eagerly took the fish from Dayle and Naori, beginning his meticulous work near the gills. With precise cuts, he extracted a small sac, setting it aside with a reverent care.

"That, my boy," he gestured towards the sac, adopting the tone of a wise uncle sharing age-old secrets, "is a sac of River Rainbow poison."

Curiosity might lead one to scrutinize the sac, confirming its identity as a D-grade venom sourced from the elusive Rainbow River fish. The captain duplicated his careful procedure with the other catch, each sac secured within a jar under his watchful eye.

As night fell, the aroma of roasted fish seasoned with wild herbs permeated the air, curiously failing to draw any predatory interest—unlike the earlier fruit frenzy.

Emerging wearily, Julia wrapped a shawl around her shoulders against the creeping chill. The journey was visibly wearing on her, her sickness casting a pallor on her usually vibrant features. She mingled with the men, occasionally drawing the captain aside, her whispers urgent and pressing for speed. Yet, the captain held firm; they could not hasten their pace.

When the vessel eventually halted with a soft jolt, it was as if they had brushed against the edge of the world. Swiftly, the crew began unloading, with Julia overseeing the operation, her authority unquestioned even as the captain muttered his disapproval.

Under the moon’s watchful gaze, the cargo made its way to solid ground, each crate and sack handled with a hushed efficiency.

"I'm fine, Julia. You look worse than I do..." Thaddeus offered a weary smile as he emerged, dismissing her concern with a chuckle. Despite his dark circles, he moved with a cautious determination, joining the others by the wagon.

The collaboration between the captain's crew and the Red Star operatives was a silent ballet of efficiency, their voices no louder than the night's chorus of crickets and frogs. Once seated, Thaddeus offered a respectful nod to Whizzie and Naori, his discomfort around the others palpable yet polite.

With the ship’s departure, Julia faced the assembled group, her voice a whisper as she urged caution.

"We're near the border now. We'll follow the river and meet the contact at a boarded-up shack. Stay quiet and try not to attract any attention. Now is the time that it's important to be quiet and not make a scene. This is where we should have been saying goodbye to Thaddeus...but I think it's best if he stays with us for now. Just in case." She nodded to them then moved to climb up onto the wagon to sit next to Thaddeus in the drivers area. Once the others had climbed on the wagon would start at a slow pace. Though the wagon was not as cozy as the initial carriage they'd ridden in was, there was still a fair amount of space. It seemed like there were a few small crates of herbs and jars that smelled of old fruit, with bright vibrant colors.

Whizziemin sudden remark caught Hiroshi a little off guard. Previously, it had been the yakuza which had made such an advance towards the incubus, teasing him so openly, but now the roles had been reversed. With raised eyebrows, his mouth made an 'O' for a moment, before relaxing, the corners of his lips curling up on a smirk. "Whizzie-chan, I promise I won't disappoint you, but..." he stopped his sentence for a moment, making a point to remove his glasses to look at the incubus directly. "... that is the kind of thing that ones needs to check... per-so-nal-ly." Hiroshi said every single syllable of the last word with deliberate slowness and putting emphasis behind each of them. He would raise the ante, offering a challenge and an invitation at the same time, his eyes narrowing to gaze upon Whizzie with a wolfish gaze, akin to a predator. While his mind raced with many plans for and with the incubus, for now, he kept a sliver of a professional demeanor, albeit the banter and tension would probably keep building up.

With that being said, his attention returned to Whizzie's and Dreayth's older brother, who introduced himself as Neramo. Hiroshi didn't seem to take the male's desire for privacy in a bad way. In fact, the yakuza nodded a few times, while commenting. "That is quite alright. Sometimes, the present isn't the right moment. But I have a feeling we might cross paths with certain frequency in the future..." Hiroshi's voice carried a tone of certainty, deliberately looking Whizziemin and then back at Neramo, before continuing. "... maybe then it will be the right time." There was a suave smile on the yakuza's lips, watching him get his own catch. He watched with silent interest as the fish hit Neramo in the face, triggering a quite furious reaction out of him. From that, he understood that this brother had a short fuse, a pretty dangerous characteristic. Hiroshi himself had it when he was younger, but time tamed it out of him.

The yakuza lingered with the captain just enough to catch the venom part of his speech, which the colored fish, caught by both Naori and Dayle, had in them. He was never particularly fond of such covert methods of assassination, thinking of it as dishonorable. Later on, with the aroma of the roasted fish permeating the air, Hiroshi had his own fill, eating the fish slowly, savoring each bite of it. Maybe it tasted even better than it should, because of the effort he had to put behind bringing the creature to the surface.

The cuts from the fishing line were still present on his right hand, but by now, the shallow cuts had already coagulated, and they weren't bleeding anymore. The man felt incredibly alert, not spending any time to rest, even after the generous meal. He felt slightly wary of Julia's current situation, watching her under the night sky. It wasn't out of his good heart, but worry about the payment for the job itself: as long as she survived enough to make the trip back to her state, he would already be satisfied.

To his surprise, however, it seemed that the odd piece, Thaddeus, had survived. He didn't know if it were because of the bastard's resiliency, Naori's help, Whizzie's magic or a mix of all the options. Whatever it might be, he was still standing. He used the opportunity to approach Whizziemin and whisper to him. "Looks like you got quite the healing touch, Whizzie-chan..." His tone was playful, next changing his expression morphing to a serious one, in a moment's notice, to hear Julia's new directives. It was time to be as cautious as he could be, albeit not being the most stealthy of people.

Climbing up the wagon, he tried to find a spot next to the incubus, while his senses remained sharp for whatever surprise the group might end up coming accross.

Having noticed Neramo talking with Hiroshi, he hoped the older brother would soon lighten up and begin enjoying himself more. Neramo seemed the most ambitious of all of the siblings when it came to having a motivated endgoal that it felt rather disappointing he didn't look like he was enjoying himself to the fullest. Simply watching as he had joined the fishing, Whizzie gave a smile and clap at his caught catch though giggling a little at his reaction of being slapped by a feisty fish.
"Good job, big bro, you showed that fish who's the boss! That's what I'd expect of you!" Whizzie gleamed with a smile as he just chose to give such positivity to Neramo for the time being, turning his attention back to Hiroshi as the man had tantalised the incubus with rather suggestive and flirtatious little comments. Blushing and holding a hand up to their mouth gently, Whizzie uttered small giggles at the man's forwardness. Though, the day would move on into the night as seafood was enjoyed eventually until the moment they hit land and were ready to unload.

Letting such matters be fixed by Julia and others since it was much more their goal and responsibility, he was at least glad to see that Thaddeus found himself the strength to be up and about, feeling a little shudder once yet another temptation of a whisper had reached his ears from Hiroshi.
"Ohoh, stop it you, you're embarrassing me~. Maybe I can show them to you sometime" Whizzie briefly murmured with a grin yet reddened face, hearing out Julia's instructions as he soon climbed up onto the wagon and found himself adjacently joined by Hiroshi which would atleast make the uncomfortable ride through the night more bearable.

“By somewhere else, I presume, the first continent?”

Naori asked blankly. At this point, he thought it was common sense that that Dreayth and his brothers weren’t beasts. It was more evident in Neramo’s appearance. No bullman he’s ever seen has looked like this. And the previous day he had used appraisal on Dreayth anyway. Besides, if it was one animal Naori would compare him to, it would be a donkey. When the captain began cutting the kills for once, Naori watched something without either a complete blank expression or an expression of bloodlust. There was a look of expectancy on his face as he watched the precious poison sacs get cut off by the fishes gills. He then grabbed all of them and looked at Dayle.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t mind if I took the poison from the fish you caught.”

It wasn’t a question, whether a relatively blank statement. And pocketed them. After the fish were cut and cooked, Naori had eaten until he was full. He hadn’t been in a particular rush, but when there was a feast present before your eyes when you hardly eat the bare minimum for survival. When given the chance, one must savor every bite. Then came when they would be sneaking about in a carriage on the border. Naori accidentally made a noise. Which was loud enough to be heard. Not being able to think of another solution, Naori would attempt to steady his body. Making sure he doesn’t make any more noise.

After the ape situation, Dayle did not hesitate to participate in the fishing as he grabbed the poles and bait and immediately went to work. The Red Star men helped with cleaning the deck, and some went over to Dayle to help him catch fish. He eventually caught a rainbow colored fish, and after expressing his glee, handed it over to the captain.

Dayle looked at Naori when the captain provided them with the fish's poison sac and Naori asked for it. "Yeah sure-" The boy didn't even let him finish before pocketing the sac. "Brat." Dayle shook his head. Looking at the group making merry with the caught fish, Dayle leaned back on the railing of the deck, watching them talk. Some of his lackeys came to his side and offered him a drink, to which he chugged before exhaling. "Looking at this scene's almost as if the entire operation's nothing much..." He lamented, pondering on how the rest of the trip will go on.

Eventually, night came deep as the boat slowly made its way through the river and came ashore. The Red Star men, including Dayle, helped unload the cargo and special shipment down the boat, loading them up to wagons. In the quiet night, Dayle understood the importance of silence as they are in foreign territory. "Spread out. Keep on the lookout." Understanding that being in a big group was conspicuous, the Red Star men followed his command and took their positions in the escort, a few ways away from the main group. Five of the Red Star lackeys stayed behind to reduce the escort's size, while five would split off individually, keeping low as much as possible. Dayle's chains were discreetly chucked in along with the cargo, so that he could take them whenever the situation calls for it.

Stepping foot unto a wagon, he hanged off the side as he began his survey. The professionalism he had displayed at the first meeting now came back to show again, and his eyes had hardened as he made sure to keep everything quiet. Though that was broken when a decently loud noise occurred. Turning his head and looking inside the wagon, he spotted Naori try to steady himself. "Keep it down, kid!" He barked in a hush. He didn't say anything more, seeing that Naori seemed well aware of the mistake he had made. He shook his head and looked out again, worried that the noise would've attracted attention. His fist clenched and opened as if readying himself for things to go south.

Neramo glanced towards Hiroshi when he made his flirtation towards his brother, Neramo frowning before recomposing himself. "Maybe that will be the right time. Once we see you're not simply manipulating Whizzie of course." He said, his eyes glancing over blankly to the isekai'd yakuza, a clear glance of suspicion and distrust regarding his true intentions with Neramo's younger brother.

The trip was somewhat uneventful, until that rodent of a child spoke up about his being from the first continent, in which he gave him a glance out of the side of his eye.
"And? What of it." He said simply, ready to attack the child if he showed even a bit of disrespect or ire for the brothers or their origins, fully ready to go for a kill on this child if he stepped out of line. He did however look towards Luisa, a smile crossing his face as he turned with that usual facade from earlier returning. "If he should desire some kind of cure... do let me know, I have a remedy that is much more effective for illnesses and injuries such as that."

But then when they got off the boat, it looked like he might not have to. Neramo of course was as perfect in his stealth as he sought to be in all things, but that vermin had to make a noise, Neramo's horns starting to smoke in annoyance as he glared at the back of the boys head, looking around to see if any others had been spotted or brought attention to themselves, crouching low in anticipation.

The silence of the night was abruptly torn apart by an unintended clamor, and suddenly, the quiet anticipation turned into a heightened alert. In the distance, footsteps rapidly approached, their urgent cadence echoing through the chilled air. Three figures emerged from the shadows—two of average build and one notably larger, a formidable panther kin whose powerful frame suggested a commanding presence. Flanking him were a goat man and a cat man, each with alert expressions, ready for confrontation.

Thaddeus, positioning himself in front of Naori, called out with a forced calm, "Good evening, officers. A minor accident with our gear here; nothing to worry about."

The panther kin officer, his gaze steely and penetrating, advanced a step. "What sort of accident makes such noise this close to the border at this hour?" he asked, his voice a deep rumble of controlled power.

Julia, stepping slightly forward but behind Thaddeus, tried to diffuse the tension with a placating smile., "We’re just fixing a broken wheel, officer. It slipped and made more noise than we anticipated. We really didn’t mean to disturb the peace."

The panther kin’s eyes narrowed skeptically, shifting between Thaddeus and Julia. “A broken wheel at night? Near the border? That’s unusual,” he remarked dryly, his tail twitching with barely contained irritation.

Thaddeus, sensing the growing suspicion, extended his identification towards the officer. "We understand how it looks, officer. Here’s my ID. We’re just passing through and mean no trouble," he assured, his voice a steady thread of sincerity.

Julia added hastily, perhaps too eagerly, "Yes, it’s just a simple mishap. We’ll be out of your fur in no time. The night does play tricks on one's nerves, doesn’t it?”

The panther kin glanced at the ID and then back at Julia, his expression hardening. He stepped back slightly, his muscular frame tensing as if preparing to call out. “There have been a lot of missing persons reported near the border recently. Can’t be too careful,” he stated, his voice growing colder. “A broken wheel doesn’t explain enough.”

Thaddeus’s tone softened, trying to keep the conversation from escalating. “I assure you, officer, we’re addressing the issue right now. No need to disturb the peace further—”

The panther kin officer remained unswayed, his suspicion palpable. He glanced over his shoulder at his companions, the goat man and the cat man alert and ready to support their leader. The panther kin’s hand hovered near his mouth, a clear indication he was ready to shout for backup at any moment.

As Thaddeus gave Naori cover, it blocked the teenager’s view. Then Naori tilted his head to see. His eyes landing on border patrol. ‘Damn it. Just our luck’ Naori had no reputation with the Republic which he was going to work with in, the attempt of [Deception [F] ]. His brown and yellow eyes flickered around the carriage. There was nothing incriminating, it seemed at a glance, just filled with a bunch of herbs. And if Naori tried he could probably take a guess at a few. Then he decided to play an act. Surely Hiroshi and Whizzie wouldn’t mind. He believed they were already flirting enough as it was. Thaddeus and Julia might be insulted, however. Whatever worked, and in this situation, he wasn’t willing to risk such extra attention. Back up? It’d ruin the job, they would all get blacklisted and then fail. Using his current skills and putting them into effect, Naori put his hands on the man’s shoulders and was ready to improve a show. With the sound of emotions in his voice which would only sound believable to the experienced. He spoke.

“Nonno, what’s wrong?”

He then looked at Julia.

“Nana, is everything okay?”

He peered over to the border patrol.

“Mister guard, we haven’t done anything wrong.”

‘Yet, anyway,’
he mentioned internally.

“My name is Naori. This is my Nonno and Nana.”

He said, pointing towards Julia and Thaddeus. He then held up Hiroshi’s and Whizzie’s hands.

“These are my papa and poppa.”

He then gestured to Dayle and his men.

“These are some of my Papa’s and Poppa’s business partners. We run a herbal shop. We were out making a deliver and just got back.”

He said with fake innocence.

“If it isn’t a bother, would it make you feel better to check out the carriage?”

He inquired in an attempt to sound innocent. He also attempted to make himself sound scared as he set the scene.

"Can't blame you for the scrutiny. Like they say: actions speak louder than words."
Hiroshi said to Neramo, as the demon made it clear that the yakuza was in some kind of probatory period about his own intentions with Whizziemin. Still, the human couldn't fault him for it, looking out for one's family was an honorable goal. That didn't worry him one bit, however. He knew exactly what he is going after.

During the trip, unfortunately, Naori ended up screwing the pooch and making some loud noise. That made Hiroshi's expression harden, as he truly expected to try and have some sort of small quality time with Whizzie. "Goddammit..." He cursed under his breath, looking at the kid, before shaking his head slightly side to side. Leaning over Whizziemin's shoulder, he whispered to him. "Sorry, seems like we won't be able to use his opportunity to chat a bit..." He grumbled, a bit disappointed, while standing at attention to see what would come from the noise that was generated.

It didn't take long for the results to become evident: border guards. From their visage, and lack of leashes around their necks, Hiroshi assumed they were creatures from this 'Republic' that had been mentioned quite a few times. Not only that, for what he saw up to that point, the East Empire didn't seem to a place where the animal-people would actually be in uniform.

He watched the attempt of both Julia and Thaddeus to pacify panther kin and his underlings. From the creature's face, he didn't buy a single word coming from both humans. And, as soon as Hiroshi began preparing himself for combat, he started hearing Naori saying the most nonsensical of things: Nonno? Nana? Had the kid gone mad? Even with those thoughts on his mind, however, the yakuza didn't show any reaction. Only when both his hands and Whizzie's were held up, Naori claiming them to be his 'papa' and 'poppa'. At that point, it became clear enough that the kid was trying to make the group pass as his family or close associates.

Well, if the panther kin and his goons were to believe that charade, Hiroshi thought it was only right that he really drive that point home. Shifting his position, and walking, he stopped just behind Whizzie. Wrapping his arm around the incubus' torso, in a rather possessive gesture, he leaned towards him, planting a kiss on Whizzie's cheek, along with the very corner of the incubus' lips. "Don't you worry, honey, everything will be alright." He told Whizzie, with a soft, reassuring voice, attempting to reinforce the picture which Naori had painted.

Shifting his gaze towards the panther animal-person, he began. "It is just like my son said, officer. In addition, those are my brothers-in-law." Seeing that Naori had forgotten by mistake or on purpose to introduce both Dreayth and Neramo, Hiroshi had done just that. He looked over at both of them, so the panther knew who he was talking about, while also taking the opportunity to watch Neramo's reaction to his endearing act towards the younger brother.

Whizzie fell rather disappointed that their little secretive operation was so easily blown by Naori's little mishap, supposing that even the cockiest of kids had to have their karma catch up with them at some point. He heard Hiroshi's shared disappointment as it seemed the man held much interest to continue their conversation, sighing softly with a gentle smile as he had briefly answered back.
"It's okay, I'm sure we'll find plenty of time, not to mention a date" he giggled softly, eventually getting up along with the man to see what was going on. A little distraught by the sight of guards that might pose a serious problem or attract way too much attention for them to handle, silently fidgeting with his hands as he tucked his wings in close. At least in a situation like this, Whizzie had the nearby presence of his brothers to rely on as well as that Hiroshi seemed reliable and trustworthy for the time.

The incubus held his tongue on wanting to say anything, trying to think if there was anything that could be said or added to ease the situation of which nothing had really came to mind up until the surprising lie bespoke by Naori to cover for them all. While to them it had been very obvious, it was still a little surprising that Whizzie would be referred to as such a thing by a complete stranger person. Though, about to just mainly not think too much of it, Hiroshi would take it a step further to add fuel to the claim by wrapping an arm around the little demon's waist and having the sudden confidence to so simply give them a kiss too.

Whilst Whizziemin had remained rather teasing and playful up to this point, he wasn't at all used to getting to do such playfulness and flirtation with the non-monsters of the Second Continent that receiving all of  this back so suddenly was an immense surprise. The incubus' nonchalant smugness and flirty personality had vanished rather rapidly as his face entirely reddened with a confused and quivering smile. He'd never gotten this far, he'd never even imagine getting this far, was this normal? Was that just his kind-of first kiss, at least the first he had received? Were things moving too fast, wasn't this all before even the first date?? How many dates should they have been on before kissing, or even hugging or holding hands?

Rather overwhelmed with the reality of how much inexperience he possessed, he just awkwardly nodded and stuttered.
"Y-yes, that- we are.... r-right, h-honey... " he murmured as his current confidence literally disintegrated, hearing Hiroshi refer to his 'Brothers-in-law' as the incubus hesitantly turned his head to see Dreayth and Neramo. His completely nervous expression was probably apparent to them, he didn't dislike Hiroshi at all, he thought the man was really handsome and cool and attractive and everything. But was this how fast things were going, was he just really committed to Naori's bit or truly looking for an excuse, Hiroshi did seem super interested by the incubus that perhaps Whizzie's charm worked way more than he was expecting.

But for the moment, Whizzie mostly held quiet as he tried to hide his embarrassed blushing expression only giving an occasional glance to his brothers as if unsure what to do or how to feel about what was going on. They hadn't even went on a few dates, or held hands yet, but Hiroshi was so willing to kiss him on the cheek and almost barely touching lips!! How- how scandalous! Who was the real tempter of love in this situation?? Oh gosh, non-monsters were more surprising than he could have imagined. He fell ever confused and nervous, but his curiosity of Hiroshi held higher than ever. Just who was this guy?? Being kissed and held in such close proximity was rather nice and comforting, but was it normal, too fast progressing? So many questions.
