Anime & Manga Your first EVER anime! ^^

My first anime was Inuyasha, and I LOVED it. A friend of mine in elementary school gifted me the entire series on DvD. I have an Inuyasha scroll poster on my wall haha

I may or may not have had a major crush on Sesshomaru.

Inuyasha was definitely a spiral down a long rabbit hole of being a weeb during the entirety of middle and high school. I don't really watch anime or read manga like I used to, but I do indulge in it from time to time.

I had the misfortune of having AOT being my first anime. Unsurprisingly, watching that kind of anime had an effect on 3rd grade me. to lift my spirits after watching the first season, I thought of watching a different, more uplifting anime.
Kid me picked SAO.

I do have depression, if anyone was curious.

I honestly couldn’t tell you the very first anime I ever watched, but the very first anime I REMEMBER watching was Cowboy Bebop.

Granted, DBZ came on often but I never watched it. Was more of a Power Rangers guy back in that day.

I think most people in my age group who grew up in America‘s first exposure to anime was via Toonami or Adult Swim.

I think like every kid in the early 90s it was definitely DBZ but the first one that drew me in was Knights of the Zodiac.

I watched Hellsing and Hellsing: Ultimate back in ye olden days when people used to upload whole entire shows to Youtube in multiple parts and you had to spend ages hunting down each one. I was like, 12. I'm pretty sure that changed me as a person.

Full Metal Alchemist! the original one (boooo). I was like 10 years old and it traumatized me lmao. been meaning to sit down and watch FMA:B for years, because I know it's one of the goats, but a small portion of my brain still remembers being that kid sitting in a dark room getting freaked out, even though that stuff doesn't bother me at all nowadays. eh, I'll get to it at some point.

Honestly my first  ever anime probably has to be one of the shows that aired on Saturday morning cartoons for me- Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or one of the Sonic shows if they count. It's definitely one of the first two though.

Honorable mention to the Studio Ghibli movies, though! My Grandad loved them and would make copies of them off of library rental CDs, so I saw Howl's Moving Castle, Naussica and Totoro from a very young age.

mine was pokemon but my first real one that i binged was definitely naruto

as a very small kid probably doraemon and ghibli lmao but the first series i watched was SAO, which i only watched the first two seasons. i was young so i didn’t really pay attention to the plot and was fascinated by the character design and the cool fights haha specially on season 2 with sinon-

however i know that if i were to rewatch i wouldn’t survive past a couple of episodes rip.. such a pity

Mine was Naruto. I remembered not liking it at first, but then the first movie came on at my babysitter’s and I became hooked

I was finally able to and did finish the original a few years after I first saw it. I binged it in a short period of time when I was 11 or so and I remember that fondly ^^

My first anime I watched was dragon ball z Kai. But if we’re talking about the first one I ever binged and watched all the way through it would be Evangelion.

DBZ here, too! I'll never forget watching that Ocean Group dub on the tiny TV in my bedroom when my friends came over for the first time. All they wanted to do was watch DBZ. Spiraled pretty hard after that lol.
