The Boss' Wife

Scarlet pouted at Zoey's lazy attitude, but decided not to push it. It couldn't be helped, after all; she was hungover. "In that case, I hope you have a good time with Chris." She gave Gabe a brief greeting when he entered before it was his turn to get scolded. "Hey, rude much? And watch your language." It was subtle, but she sensed a bit of tension in the air. She saw the way Gabe had looked at Susan. She figured that he wasn't the only one who didn't trust her, as she was one of the more recent additions to the family. Of course, Scarlet wasn't naive, and she knew that with the cops growing onto them they had to be more alert now than ever. It was just...it made her sad to think of Susan that way, or anyone in her family for that matter. They were all her children. They were hers. She couldn't possibly imagine what she would do if one of her dear children turned on her. Her enemies, the people outside of the family, all deserved to burn in hell or grovel under her feet, and if after so much love was invested into someone, she was forced to think of all the terrible things she should do to them...

The thought made her incredibly sad. She preferred to avoid the idea entirely.
"I guess your poor mother will have to put this clothes away all on her own." A self-deprecating tone was in Scarlet's voice, before she gave each of her children a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry, I can handle this much. I'll see you two later, okay?" She gave a warm smile to each individual in the room before heading upstairs with a shopping bag in each hand. Her bodyguards barely had a moment of rest before they continued to assist her, proceeding to carry everything to her wardrobe. Of course, this meant that she was still getting help with putting the clothes away. With Zoey, she'd hoped to use her to see her in those outfits and give her opinion on which one is better. Perhaps she could have gotten a chance to see her daughter in some of her own clothes as well. She gave a slightly disappointed sigh as she boarded the elevator to her floor.

His phone continued to light up with messages that needed to be read but at the moment, the person in front of him was far more important than anything else that could be happening around him. The explanation he gave made Bowen believe that without a doubt this was his boy. Taking slow and steady breaths, he tried to hold back the tears already starting to stink at his eyes. Clearing his throat, he looked away for a moment, composing himself before turning back to Bowie, as he spoke of not being able to get the tape slot open. Raising an eyebrow, Bowen couldn't recall ever having that problem with the walkman, as Bowie explained what had happened. Bowen nodded his head.

His son extended the walkman to him, entrusting it in his very capable hands. "Perhaps its just a side that's blank hmmm?" He wondered out loud, knowing fully well that wasn't the case. His eyes looked at the player before him and he nodded his head as he held it closer to his eyes. Squinting slightly, he identified the problem quickly. "Aha, here is the issue, Bowbo-Bowie...excuse me." His cheeks flushed as he realized he almost slipped up, calling him by a nickname he had given his son as a baby. Sighing, he pointed to the lid of the tape slot. "Its barely noticeable, but these damn things tend to bend slightly if dropped...soooo." Grabbing an unused metal fork from the table, he quickly wiggled it between the lid. It took a few times, but it finally popped open. "If you hold it with your hands for a moment, the lid I mean, it will become more flexible...so you can bend it back properly." He demonstrated and shut the lid once finished before opening it again, this time with ease. "And there you go." A smile spread across his face as he leaned back, handing him the walkman.

"Let's just hope there are some more tunes on the other side....was your dad's huh? Must have been a 70s and 80s music junkie then? No doubt some great hits on both sides...but I guess you will just have to find that out." Bowen wondered what his son would think later, when he finally sits down to play the other side. His heart jumped in his chest just thinking about it. Finally, he took another moment to look at his phone..Sophia was not pleased, as was to be expected...she initially had tried to get him off of this case because of his genetic connection to his son, but he fought it. Now...instead of being the teacher, he felt like the student, knowing she had been right. It had been a mistake to do this...it would only bring him heartbreak in the end.

Bowie watched the man with keen eyes as the walkman was on his side of the table, the man’s reaction worrying him slightly. An eyebrow raised, he looked at the man curiously. “You alright man? Look like you saw a ghost...? I mean walkmans aren’t that old.” Hoping the joke helped the man through whatever it was that bothered him, he noticed the change in him as he got to work on the device.

Listening intently as the man described the problem, to intently that he missed the odd comment about his name, his eyes flickered with curiousity. How stupid had he been? The sound of the forsaken device opening sounded like a gunshot to him, this could be something... His mom had always told him to never flip the tape... But why? Flipping the tape before shutting it, he’d shortly find out.

Tucking the device away, Bowie gave the man a thankful nod. “Much appreciated, Bowen.” The sound of his name curled through the restaurant, signaling his food ready. “Thanks for the table, and the help. Hope whatever is stressing you out gets better man...” And with that, the man went on his way...

*************

Bowie had flagged a cab at the restaurant, and was in route to the Biancardi residence. The walkman sat in his lap, untouched since the man had fixed it. Staring at the small box, he took a deep breath. This was it. Pressing the play button slowly, the slow winding of the tape felt like an entern-... “...I know you won't understand my reasons son, but its time you knew the truth.”

Clicking the tape off as fast as he could, his amber eyes began to water... He could feel the hot tears begin to drop from his face, although no sound escaped him as his shaky fingers managed to type. “911. Cab arrive in 10. Be ready.”

Gabe gave another apprehensive glance at the pile of shopping bags while listening to Zoe complain, bearing all sorts of brand names in various print. He himself enjoyed fashion, having developed an interest in it through his modelling. He had pieces brought in from the newest collections every season, be it clothes, shoes, even accessories. However, even he had nothing on his mother. If the average person's wardrobe were to be compared to the moon, Gabe's would be Earth and his mother's would be the Milky Way - it was always expanding.

He hummed his agreement at Zoey's whispered sentence. Training with Chris was indeed better than sorting out a thousand pieces of clothing. He had been trained in combat by Chris when he first started out and had the man to thank for his rapid improvement. Not because his cousin was an amazing teacher but because he had a way too hands-on approach that made kid-Gabriel desperate to escape his wings. Now, with his gained experience and improved self-control, he kind of wished he'd stayed in training longer. His crush was gone but that didn't mean Chris's good looks were too. Attractive men were truly like fine wine, they only got better with age. Gabe would die before he ever let anyone hear that particular opinion of his, though. He shook that thought off along with Zoey's head on his shoulder and stood up.

"Watch whatever you guys want, I have an essay to finish," he answered with a shrug, slipping off his jacket and rolling up his sleeves. "I'm getting coffee. Oh, and there's still leftover banana milk from your last hangover, want some?" Gabe asked Zoe, taking note of her response before leaving for the kitchen. Upon entering it, he saw Sophia at the corner of the room, frowning at her phone and looking rather distressed. Casually, he slipped closer to her while opening the refrigerator, glancing over her shoulder to see what got her so riled up. "Is something wrong, Sophia?"

Chris glanced to Alfonso as the young man volunteered himself to ensure safe delivery of the drugs to the warehouse. He trusted the heir to do so, despite him often indulging in acts for the adrenaline. But if he was to find the family a partner to replace Alonzo then he too needed to remain involved and in the loop on jobs such as tonight's. "I will be there too," he firmly assured Antonio. He then lit up a cigarette and took a long drag of it. The bars could wait another day. Sure, getting drunk, still winning at darts and letting his eyes wander were fun, but it wouldn't come before business.

Chris raised his hand in a half-arsed manner as Bowie got up to leave first. "Later, Bowie," he muttered. He figured tonight's job wouldn't fit into the kid's field anyway. "You look after yourself too. There's dangerous predators and liars on the Internet," he teased. "5'8", busty Brenda might not be who she says she is." He was joking, but anyone who didn't know him would have taken the tone of voice and straight face as it being a genuine comment.

After sending another glance to Lacey, just for old time's sake, he got up from his seat, balanced the cigarette in his mouth and walked over to the mini bar. He helped himself to another double of scotch before reluctantly setting the bottle back down. He turned back to Antonio and gave him the thumbs up. "Thanks for the hospitality, Toni. I'll see you back at your place!" he informed his uncle and whoever else was due to be heading back there.

hfdhgh-png.387733

After stopping off for a snack on the way, Chris arrived at the Biancardi house and parked his car on the driveway. He grabbed his spare change of clothing and carried it into the house with him. "Good evening, all," he called out to anyone who was present or listening. He found the first empty room and nipped into it to quickly change his clothes from the suit to something more casual for a spot of training and tonight's job. He emerged from the room in his jeans but was presently still topless and he didn't rush to put his spare top on as he approached the kitchen where he heard some of the others.

Chris noticed Gabe approaching Sophia by the refrigerator and the younger man asked her if something was wrong. Though he wouldn't join in with the questioning of his protegee, Chris would keep his ears out for her response, nonetheless. He noticed Zoey was present too. Perfect. "Are you three good?" he asked the three in the kitchen. As he waited for their responses, he pulled his top over his head so he was no longer standing bare chested. He then patted Zoey on the shoulder and sighed. "I see you're still alive. Didn't think to come back home last night, then?" he seriously asked her. Chris was in an interesting position, being in the middle of Antonio and his cousins by age. He saw things from both of their perspectives and fully understood the need for fun, but right now it was the need for his cousins' safety that took prime position with his concerns. "What's the deal?" he asked, his voice lowered.

Zoey watched as her mother sighed and disappointedly went out of the room. Zoey didn’t like hurting her but her mother should know by now that if she wanted anything to do with clothes or fashion that Nicole was the one to ask not her. Still she felt a bit bad as she watched her mother get into the elevator, brushing off the thought, Zoey turned to watch her brother stand up.

When he mentioned the banana milk , Zoey nodded “yes please” she said sweetly, usually flavored milk got rid of her hangovers or at the very least they made her feel human. After Gabe had gone into the kitchen, Zoey turned her attention to Susan, she was about to ask when her friend was doing when she heard Chris’ voice coming from the hall. Her eyes widened before she let out a sad sigh “oh kill me” she muttered before pinching her eyes shut. “I better get that coffee now” she said before standing up and making her way in to the kitchen, she was nearly at the kitchen door when Chris walked over and patted her on the shoulder.

Zoey Looked up to her cousin with an innocent look in her eyes as she questioned her about last night. “Well I couldn’t really think at all last night, I was way to wasted” she told him “wasn’t even supposed to stay out that long and the next thing I know I was waking up in a strange house”. Zoey wasn’t exactly lying, in fact she was telling the truth about the whole scenario, the only thing she hadn’t mentioned was loosing her jeans and jacket but she was sure that Chris would know the oversized trackies she had on were not hers when he saw them. She realized that trying to wind him up was her worst idea to date, since she training with him and right now she knew she was feeding him full of motivation to make it harder for her.

Sophia was just about to begin speaking with Sasha some more when she heard the noise from her earpiece. Bowen's voice could be heard and the name that he spoke of had caused her to freeze momentarily with fear and rage. Sophia looked to Sasha for a moment before reaching into her back pocket and grabbing her cell phone. Biting her lip, her thumbs furiously typed away at the screen, telling Bowen that what he was doing would fuck up everything they had already worked so hard for. Sophia wasn't the type to really care deeply about what happened to others around her, she had been this way for as long as she could remember, but when it came to the Rats, they were her family. Bowen was endangering her family now with trying to have a connection with his own.

A voice made her jump slightly as she turned to look at Gabe, a small smile forming on her lips as she forced herself to breathe through her nose calmly. More voices were heard from the living area and before she had time to answer him, her mentor along with Zoey had been walking into the room one right after the other. Sophia was grateful for this however, as the attention would be diverted from her long enough to see the new message from Bowen, the bastard finally answering after the chat with his own bastard son.

iphone-jCqg.png

Rolling her eyes, she replied quickly before putting her phone away and turning her attention back to Gabe who seemed to be waiting for an answer now. "Ah just some lame guy trying to get in my pants." Given that this had been something she'd dealt with before, Sophia was ready to throw him off with her answers. Sighing, she looked to the now busy kitchen. The coffee timer went off and Sophia quickly moved to grab the pot along with a few cups. "Yo boss, you want some joe?" Sophia asked Chris as she moved to the cupboard, grabbing him a cup regardless. Setting them down on the island in the middle of the kitchen, she began to pour the coffee before pushing the containers for sugar over their way and grabbing the creamer from the fridge. Seeing Zoey now being interrogated by Chris made her smirk slightly, they were related, you would think Zoey would know what not to do with her family.

Our guys have intel on a drug delivery taking place for the Cats, we are sending two undercovers over to surveillance the area and attempt to get some evidence. Cover them, make sure they don't get caught. Bowen spoke in her ear once more and she looks to Sasha wondering if Bowen had spoken the same thing to him.

Lacey hadn't been terribly interested in the information being distributed at the moment, far too many capable men were in the room for her to focus on anything business related. Besides her business wasn't hard in the slightest, sure there was some prep work involved but she absolutely loved doing what she did. Once the meeting had ended and others began to file out of the room, Lacey stayed seated for a few moments knowing that Antonio would most likely want to speak with her about the man downstairs. Sending a wink Chris' way as he took his leave, Lacey crossed her arms patiently waiting for almost everyone to be out of the room. Once it was just a few left, Lacey stood from her seat and walked towards the boss.
He was talking with Alfonso, who Lacey was quite fond of, he understood her crazy tendencies much like everyone else did, though most of the time he was very interested in her work compared to others. Walking up Lacey stood silent until their conversation was over. Antonio looked to his son with great interest as he stated that he wanted to be apart of the drug job tonight. Toni was very protective of his children, they meant the world to him. Alfonso was different compared to his others though, he was meant to be involved in this type of work. Sighing, another smile formed on his lips before nodding his head. "Seeing as your cousin will be going with you tonight, sure, I'll allow it. You might want to get home for a while though and rest while you can, its gonna be a long night." Antonio then turned to Lacey who smiled brightly at him.
The look in her eyes told him exactly what he needs to know and he nodded his head once, "Alfonso, I'll be heading downstairs to the basement with Lacey for a moment to take care of something. Please let the others know I will be home shortly when you arrive alright? Be safe."

~Biancardi Tower Basement~
Antonio looked at the mangled and torn body laying face first on the floor of the basement, in one of the many rooms. Toni carefully eyed Lacey's dogs, Bonnie and Clyde as they sat obedient at the command of their owner, panting and huffing with blood and saliva falling from their mouth. Regardless of the scary dogs, Toni was pleased that his enemy had been taken care of. "Good work Lacey, I'll send the cleaning crew over to take care of the mess. Bonnie, Clyde, " The dogs ears perked up at the sound of their name and looked to the italian curiously, "Good dogs." Lacey clapped her hands happily and cooed to her animals sweetly before mentioning cleaning them up. "If you are bringing them back to the house I hope you clean them well, we just got a new rug for the lounge and I would hate to see it all bloodied." Toni looked down at the body for another minute before something possessed him, a strong feel of hate. Growling once, he swung his foot out and kicked the body. Once a traitor, always a traitor. Using his foot, he turned the body over to see the man's face. Alonso stared back at him, dead as a doornail looking absolutely ridiculous with make up on. "Goodbye old friend, I'll see you in hell." Nodding once, Toni turned on his heels before heading out of the room.
~Biancardi Residence~
Toni and Lacey had taken the same care back to the home and walked through the front door. Lacey had two leashed dogs in tow as she moved to take them off, Toni moved towards where he heard voices. "OH SO NO ONE IS GONNA COME GREET YOUR FATHER? WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO WE LIVE IN NOW WHERE YOU CAN'T COME SAY HELLO TO DADDY. His powerful voice boomed in a playful manner as he walked towards the kitchen. Smiling widely, he raised his arms out, "Papa's home."

Susan Richards ~\\Medusa

A Susan smiles as Zoey apologizes, and asks can they simply watch movies. Susan rather liked that idea. Valentina enters in to which Susan gives a respectable nod. The driver was always sort of secluded, Susan wondered what she did other than automotive work to pass the time. She'd offer to ride with Valentina or even have her drive her places from time to time. Before long, Sophia had taken a leave and a rush of well-dressed men entered in and Sue knew what that meant. It was the arrival of Mrs. Biancardi. She comments on Zoey's exhaustion, waning her to help her out with some rather vain and superficial matters. Susan didn't really know nor hear from Scarlet that much, only what Zoey has told her. Her and Mr. Biancardi were business, but her and Scarlet were relatively familiar to one another. Scarlet had shown nothing but polite nature and compassion for Susan, something Susan would not forget. Hearing her talk in a pity voice about handling the clothes herself made Susan chuckle...as if she didn't have 9325033389281 ^ 100 guards under her thumb that couldn't do that for her. Yet another addition of the family enters in as Gabe kisses his mom on the cheek and nods to the girls. Susan nods upwards as he sank into the sofa, teasing his sister and gathering the scene. Zoey had decided to stay and watch a movie, to which Susan smirked at her choice. Not a movie, a show. "Wellll....I was thinking we could lust over Stephen Amell kicking ass and being sexy while doing it. We should watch Arrow. I may or may not have created an algorithm that filters every episode in the series to only the ones where he's shirtless..." Susan then gives a shrug as if she was warding off any impending judgement. She also knew Gabe's alignment, so she extended the invite. Gabe instead got up and moved towards the kitchen, in which Chris enters in the house and speaks to all. Susan sends him a wave as he heads into a room. Susan begins to bring up the On-Demand TV, and selects Arrow, but upon entering into the Smart TV's software, uploads her algorithm to start to play all the episodes she aforementioned. She saw Chris come from the room shirtless, and her entire body shifted over in a blatant and non-discreet fashion to appreciate the man's blessings. She watches him join Gabe and Soph in the kitchen, before turning back and looking at Zoey. "Your cousin in law is flaunting again. And I'm okay with it." She tells Zoe in a casual tone.

Chris then comes over to check on Zoey, asking her about her affairs. Zoey goes to grab coffee and Sue's phone goes off from an encrypted channel, her knowing exactly who it was.

As soon as she hit send, the doors spread wide open and the sound of Mr. Biancardi sent the house in a silence of respect. Susan watched how passionate this man was for his kids. The smile on his face, the joy. Even though she was wise enough to see the facade. There was something on his heart. Something heavy. Something darker. Susan thought about her own dad, who left her high and dry before she even hit puberty. Just her and her mom to fend the sharks in Vegas. She had realized in that moment Toni had taken her in and done more and shown more courtesy and respect then her father ever did. It made her have a reality check... these people were human too, with feelings and families. Susan kept her emotions cold nearly all the time, but right now she was in deep thought. She looked to Zoey and shut the TV off. "Zoe-Zoe, rain check. Something's come up." She almost seemed to switch from warm and inviting to cold and calculating as she left the lounge and headed outside to wait for Bowie.

arrow-lair-feature.jpg

The cab arrives and Bowie invies her to get in as they make their way to the Biancardi tower, where they've been dubbed the 12th floor as their base of operations. "Bowie... what's up?"

Once there, she boots up the computers and activates her Medusa app to remotely cover a blackwall encryption on all software and hardware components. She awaits for Bow-Tech and snaps into a hyperfocused state, the light from the screen reflecting off her retina in the semi-lit basement room. She mumbles under her breath.

Taking a seat at his computer station, he removed his walkman from his jacket, setting it down with a shaky hand. “....My dad....” Was all he could manage, taping the box gently with a finger. “He was at the chinese place... We talked. But I didn’t know it was him... Just thought he was a stranger...” Placing a earbud in his ear, he handed the other to his protégée for her ear.

“....I know you won't understand my reasons son, but its time you knew the truth. Take care of your mother, she needs someone who will be there for her...Take care of yourself Bradley, I await the day we meet again......I love you son."

Susan had never heard his real name before, nor probably cared about his issues at the moment. But, he needed to talk to someone. Just someone... “I left my mother at 16.... She died 3 years later from an overdose... Its like i’m repeating in the same goddamn footsteps as that bastard!” Slamming his hands on the desk, the computers and walkman trembeling from the force. “I’m gonna find him.”

Bowie suddenly shifted, the anger that he had moments ago released now fueled him. “Work on that device for tomorrow to get in the cameras we talked about yesterday. Food is on the table.” He said curtly as he logged into his computer. As the PC loaded, he quickly flipped the tape, and let it start from the beginning. And now the rabbit hunt began...

Opening what he dubbed his “Control Center”, an application that organized all the surveillance of the places the Biancardi’s had rule over. If he, or anyone that he programmed to be spotted was seen on camera, it was moved higher on the list. And the latest being Lee Fu. Clicking the tab, he knew the cameras wouldn’t tell him much, so he went directly to the wifi. All users had a ID while on the address, usually after their device number or name... The man had said his name was Bowen. The same intials as himself. BR. His phone had received a multitude of messages, meaning his pings would be the highest amount. He appeared wealthy also, that laptop of his not a cheap thing to tote around. So. His was going to be the most secure, and most pinged signal.

B8963246R88, Bingo. Tapping the ID, his computer did a momentary scan through the Internet, but led to nothing more than a name and email. Biting his lip, he quickly copied the ID down, and exited the app. Moving his focus to the more darker parts of the web, Bowie opened a chat room within the web titled, Hush Hush. He used it often, usually brokering cartel or hitmen deals for Chris on the site. The recipient of the message was not able to save nor track the message, making it virtually invisible. Typing Bowen’s ID in quickly, the PC locked onto a live ping. Tapping the volume button on the walkman, he took a deep breath.

"A coffee would be great right about now. Thank you, my loyal servant," Chris teased Sophia. He caught the sugar container and briefly studied it before setting it back down. He didn't fancy sweetening up his coffee tonight.

Chris focused his attention back to Zoey as she gave her explanation of the night before. He straightened his posture and any form of humour escaped his face in an instant. Right now, his face appeared deadly serious as his eyes seemed to pierce through Alex for a short time. Her explanation was unsettling to him. "Well, that was really fucking smart, wasn't it?" he asked her. "You're the daughter of the most dangerous man in the city. You're a member of a family with a plethora of harmful rivals. Yet, you woke up - AND I QUOTE - you woke up in a strange house? Real fucking intelligent for a supposedly promising student," he sarcastically remarked. He shook his head as he thought of all of the possible dangers she could have dragged her drunken arse into last night. He glanced down to the bottoms she was wearing and scoffed at them. "I ain't your dad, Zoey, but I still don't want to see any harm come to you," he said, his voice momentarily softening. He then cleared his throat to remove any sense of sentimentality. "Are we still training?" he asked. Well, it was more of a cue than a request. They were training whether she liked it or not.

Chris heard Antonio make his entrance and let out a sigh. "Daddy's home, Alex," he commented. "You're lucky to have one like him. Some of us ended up with arseholes for papas. So how about you go say hello to him and then meet me out in the back garden? Maybe wear some trackies that fit too," he flippantly suggested.

He was about to grab his coffee when one of his mobile phones began to vibrate in his pocket. He always carried two phones; one for business and one for personal. This was a personal call and he reluctantly answered upon seeing his sister's name flashing on the screen. Zita was meant to be grabbing dinner with their father tonight and he didn't doubt the man had cancelled on her once again. He put the phone to his ear and grabbed the coffee cup with his free hand, before heading towards the door so he could head outside. Immediately after answering the call, he groaned as Zita started complaining about their father.

"Well, I did tell you Federico is a jackass," he remarked, always addressing his father by his forename since the man decided he wanted a new family. "Why am I not surprised he didn't meet you? I told you he'd let you down. It's in his nature." Once again, Federico had cancelled plans with his daughter and it irritated Chris to know she kept giving the man chances to fail her. "He's bought a what?! Father Fuckerico is buying an awful lot of expensive shit lately." Chris looked to his watch as he calculated how long he had to train Zoey tonight. "Look, I have to go. Just stay away from him and his two golden children. You don't need him, Zita... Alright... Love ya, Sis. Bye."

Chris ended the call and placed the phone back into his pocket. He then perched himself on the nearby garden bench as he waited for Zoey.

Zoey took the coffee off Sophia and smiled “thank you”. She picked up the sugar and placed two small spoons into her cup, stirring it as she looked back to Chris. His reaction was angry and father-like as expected, it wasn’t unusual for Chris to act like this. “I’m sorry” she said in an innocent voice “I’ll let you know what I’m doing next time” she assured him with Bambi eyes. There was no truth to that statement at all and Zoey knew that next weekend would probably entail the same conversation but her logic for apologizing was that he’d hopefully be nicer on her at training. When she heard her father come in, Zoey smiled at Chris “I’ll get changed now and be out” she told him before picking up her coffee cup and walking towards her room.

“Father” she greeted giving him a one sided hug so not to spill her coffee “I’ll talk to you in a few minutes, I have training with Chris and you know how impatient he gets” she laughed before going to walk out of the room then her eyes met Lacey and her two dogs. “Hey Lacey and hi cuties” she added bending down slightly to pet the dogs as she was speaking. While her dogs were by all means terrifying, Zoey knew they did not cause harm to those they liked and so she wasn’t afraid of the dogs nor was she afraid of Lacey. “I’ll catch up with you later” she told Lacey before leaving the kitchen and going to her bedroom. Zoey’s eyes landed on her bed and all she wanted to do was lie in it, but she knew if she didn’t arrive to the garden that Chris would come up here and drag her down and that would just lead to more pain. Zoey changed into a pair of yoga pants and a tank top before sitting down on the bed to put on her gym shoes. She remained sitting as she finished her coffee, knowing that she was going to need this in her system.

Zoey made her way back downstairs, stretching on the way down to loosen her limbs before this. Her headache has lessened to a bearable dull ache but she knew it wouldn’t be long till it came back fully, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge Zoey then made her way to the back garden. She saw Chris sitting with his back to her and smirked before silently sneaking up on him. Once behind him, she snaked her arm around his neck and the other arm went up the side of his face so she had him in a headlock “so tell me Chris dear, how do you get out of this one?” She asked him sweetly, but a devious smirk played on her lips.

The Biancardi Family Mansion

Gabe was almost slapped by Sophia's hair due to the sheer speed at which she turned her head. Before he could voice a complaint about that, however, Chris entered the room. He turned to give a vaguely positive answer to whether he was good or not when he realized that cousin dearest was shirtless. Oh. Wow. He saw a lot of abs per day on average through his work but Chris's...Gabe could never decide whether he was jealous or just wanted to poke it. Thankfully, the older man slipped on a shirt quickly enough that Gabe didn't have to mentally punch himself in the face.

"Just some lame guy trying to get into my pants," he heard, pulling his eyes away from Chris. He stared at Sophia for a second, a little doubtful that something trivial like that could have caused that distressed look on the normally icy woman's face. Maybe a boyfriend, he figured and left it at that. He grabbed a cup of coffee for himself, watching Zoey with a seemingly stoic expression that, to those who knew him, was one of amusement. He fought not to cringe at her answer to Chris's interrogation. Surely, she had to know she was digging her own grave with that kind of half-assed reply. As expected, Chris then moved on to scold her. Zoey hastily grabbed a cup of coffee, having apparently forgotten about her banana milk under the attention of Serious Chris. Other than that small detail, however, he thought she was doing quite well. The one time Gabe had a confrontation with Serious Chris, he had gotten so pissed off at being told off that he had proceeded not to come home for a week. Zoe was clearly more used to dealing with this version of their cousin more than he was, though in his defense he had been at the rebellious phase at age 16 back then.

He left that scene for the living room, grabbing his jacket from the couch. He was about to go up and barricade himself in his room with his cup of coffee to finish his last remaining essay when a loud familiar voice boomed through the hall. His father walked in, all smiles and arms wide open in invitation for hugs. The man was followed by Lacey and her pet dogs. Gabe was infinitely more fond of cats than dogs and the fault fell on those cursed dogs of hers. It wasn't anything particular that they did but rather their overall presence that just creeped him out. Just like their owner. "Ciao, papa," he greeted, opting not to hug him as Zoe had as per his norm. "You're late coming home today," he commented, raising a hand in greeting at Lacey. "Mom's up there sorting out new clothes, so you might want to stay down here for a bit." With that last warning, Gabe also left the room.

Chris felt an arm snake around his neck and another arm against his face. If he wasn't in the trusted presence of Antonio's family, his reactions would have been quick and his "attacker" wouldn't have got very far in attempting a headlock. Instead, a crooked smile crossed his face as he allowed Zoey to do her thing. "Ah, well shit..." he calmly said, not attempting to move his head or break free. He placed his hand lightly on Zoey's elbow. "Well, I could break your arm... Or I could shoot you in the face," he suggested, sliding his revolver out of his pocket and lifting it into view. "There's a lot of things I could do, but I don't think my Uncle Toni would be happy if I broke his not-so-innocent daughter." Chris remained patiently still as he waited for her to let go.

"I'm not the one being trained this evening. The sooner we start, the sooner you can die peacefully on your bed," he told her. "We'll save the weapons training for another day as I think you need some cardio and body weight work today. You can sweat the hangover out of your system." He recalled he hadn't gone easy on Gabe when he trained him - something he quite missed now - so he wasn't going to go easy on Zoey just because she was a girl.

Assuming Zoey had finally released him, he'd walk her to the lawn. "Laps, squats, press-ups, lunges, then repeat. You know the drill. We'll stop when I think you've had enough warming up," he told her. The temperature outside was still quite warm itself, so he was sure that would help make things less straightforward for her. "If you're going to make it harder for me to do the part of my vast job that involves protecting you lot, then I'm going to make you work hard now. Perhaps you'll build up the right level of fitness to run away from danger, seeing as you're doing nothing to avoid it." Chris let out an exaggerated groan. "No more talking. Get running! Before I turn into someone's grumpy old dad..."

Whilst Zoey did her bit, Chris would do some press-ups and sit-ups himself - any opportunity to maintain his sexy body. At the same time, he still watched her and fired out "motivational" words. "My decrepit old Nonna can run faster than that!"

He had been chuckling internally the whole elevator ride down to the bottom of the Biancardi tower where his ride waited, mulling over everything that had been gone over in the meeting. Firstly there was the problem of the rat, which he was sure would bring Lacey heaps of...entertainment once they were caught, rest assured they would be caught this was the most powerful crime family in the city. His heels clicked against the concrete of the ground as he sauntered towards his car door, grabbing another cigarette like before and lighting it as he stood there, looking out over the city skyline that loomed above him. It was quite beautiful, nothing like Italia in the spring time but it had its charm. As he took a quick drag from his cig his hand fished through his pocket for a moment, finally pulling out his phone.

He quickly dialed Sasha's phone number, each press of the button denoted by a small beep, and pressed the thin device against his head as he ducked into the car and turned the ignition. With a glance over his shoulder he decided he was already dressed up and there was no need changing back into his street clothes so he simply slammed the door shut as he waited for the boy to answer. After a few seconds of silence, permeated by his grunting as he shoved the shift into drive and turned the car out of the parking lot, he was finally greeted with a dull, resounding beep that signaled that the call had been dropped. Gritting his teeth his fingers flew across the virtual keyboard of the phone, throwing out a quick messsage to the boy saying he wanted to meet up with him tomorrow or tonight, before tossing the phone over to his passenger seat and peeling out of the parking lot, cutting someone off with a loud beeping. Yeah he was that asshole.

Before he even realized it the man was back at the deli, his car neatly pulled against the curb as he sat there in his car. There were a few moments as he enjoyed the dull rumble of his car under the thin layer of leather that clothed his seat. He sat there for a second longer before stepping out onto the curb, the cold night air slapping across his face. He stepped into the building, looking over to his cousin lenny - a thin man with a pencil mustache that stretched across his face - who was standing behind the counter with an expression of boredom splayed across his face. Strolling up to the man he ordered two sandwiches, dropping the money on the counter before stepping into the back and grabbing three bags of chips out of the newly opened boxes, tearing one open as he walked back out. Lenny was almost done with both sandwiches, the first sitting neatly wrapped in its packaging. He idly crunched on the plain chips as he watched the second one be made, layer and layer of meat and vegetables slowly rising.

After a few minutes the second sandwich was done and the burly man grabbed the both of them, thanking his cousin, and sped out of the building to pop back into his car and drive away once more. He thought of pulling over to the kids place but decided he had enough mafia stuff for the day and barrelled down the street to his home. It was closer to the heart of the city than probably necessary, a fancy apartment building that rose forty stories up, but it was his and he could feel his muscles relaxing as he stepped out of his car, grabbing his jacket, phone and bag before sauntering towards the lobby where he was greeted by the rather strong looking woman that was manning the counter with a warm smile. He returned the smile the best he could as he slipped into the elevator, pressing down on the button harshly before leaning against the back wall of the small box. Time to watch wheel of fortune and clean his gun.

It was Barbie’s day off and the young woman decided to spend the day baking sugary treats in her tiny apartment. She spent most of her morning running around her cramped kitchen, whisking and cooking away while Frank Sinatra blasted through the apartment. Barbie felt like she was living the housewife dream, but without being married. She bounced around with her pink heels clapping against the linoleum floor and her beach blonde hair flouncing behind her. Once she made the perfect batch of sugary cookies and decorated them in vanilla icing, Barbie changed from her dirty clothes into a slick black dress and a pink leather jacket. She tied her hair back into a high ponytail, wisps of blonde hair slipping out, before rushing out of her apartment with the cookies inside her bag.

Barbie rushed out to the curb in front of the apartment block, waving a bright yellow taxi after a few minutes of waiting. She sweetly told the driver the address and fifteen minutes later, Barbie thanked the driver and made her way to the 12th floor where she expected Bowie to be.

The woman plastered a bright smile on her lips as she entered, her heels clapping behind her while she swiftly pulled out a paper bag full of sugar cookies and a light pink, unlit, cigarette dangling between her rosy lips. “I brought cookies!” Barbie cooed as she wandered around, noticing the half-eaten Chinese sitting on a bench. Her gaze flicked ahead of her where she noticed a familiar leather jacket, a smirk played at her lips as she made her way over, placing a small kiss on Bowie’s cheek and dumping the paper bag in front of him. Barbie found a seat next to Bowie and relaxed her shoulders into the seat, slipping out her lighter from her jacket and lighting up the dangling cigarette. Her eyebrows furrowed together when she noticed the worried look on Bowie’s face, a stream of smoke escapeing her lips away from Bowie, “What’s wrong? Did something go wrong?” She asked softly, her voice comforting and worried for the man next to her. Barbie glanced over to Susan, hoping for her to explain what was going on.

Alfonso greeted Lacey with a nod. He was curious about the business he and Lacey had before he left, but he knew when to leave his dad to his work. "All right, see you home."

Alfonso was always guarded by several people while going around the city. He climbed into the car of one of the nameless and faceless drivers who were cycling through their shifts of driving him around. Although he understood that he was important to the family, he slightly wanted to take over his own driving. His skills at the wheel were slightly reckless, but he loved the feeling of driving down an empty road at full speed.

When he was driven home, Alfonso saw that his dad somehow arrived before him. It was another of his traits: while he was at times nowhere, he was at the same time everywhere, always. He laughed a bit at his father's loud entry. He didn't mind it, but it was always funny how great he was at gaining attention. It reminded him of himself, though his ways of becoming the center of the group was much more subtle. Being hungry, the heir to the business went straight for the kitchen. He knew he shouldn't overindulge the day before a job, but what harm would a few snacks do?

Grabbing a Snickers bar, he walked over to the garden where everyone seemed to be going. He enjoyed entering the green space, although it would bore him if he went there alone for more than a few minutes. He grinned as he watched Chris and Zoe getting some exercise in, laughing at the especially detailed "motivational phrases" the man threw out. For some odd reason, he loved watching his adorable little sister trying to stay fit. The peaceful feeling he felt inside was why he would protect the Biancardi family with all his might.

Zoey Biancardi

Zoey listened as her cousin told her how he could get out of the headlock and none of the answers sounded good for her, she looked at the gun and smirked but reluctantly let go off his head. “Your no fun” she teased with a pout before following him as he began to state her warm up. Why she kept getting him to train her, she’d never know. “I’m fit enough as it is, let’s just spar today, I need to know how to defend myself more than to run” she sighed as she looked around the garden. She was already starting to sweat and knew this warm up was going to be hell for her. “Are you trying to kill me?” She asked him but stopped talking when he told her to shut up. Sighing loudly, Zoey started her laps before breaking into the other exercises that he asked her to do. By the third repeat her legs were beginning to shake and her head was starting to hurt again, she could hear Chris shouting rather obscene encouragements but chose to ignoring him, instead focusing on how she was going to get her own back on her cousin.
After the sixth time of repeating the drills Zoey stopped running and took a drink of her water before leaning forward to rest her hands on her knees and she tried to catch her breath. She looked over at her cousin as she began her stretches “I physically can’t do any more laps” she told him, desperation was clear in her voice.

She pulled her arms back stretching out the muscles as she looked around the garden, her eyes landed on Alf and she sent him a smile before looking back at Chris “just attack me or something I’d rather try to get out of pins than run laps and do all the other crap” she told him before a smirk took over her features “I definitely liked being pinned last night” she added, a michevous glint twinkled in her eyes as she said this. Zoey was purely winding her cousin up , she didn’t have sex last night but Chris didn’t need to know this. While she was doing this to wind Chris up it was only after she said it did she realize her older brother had probably heard aswell. She cringed as she realized he would possibly have a not so nice reaction to her words aswell.

Untitled.pngZoey's suggestion of sparring hadn't fallen on deaf ears, but Chris had chosen to ignore it for now. He wanted her to warm up and suffer along the way. When she asked if he was trying to kill her, he simply shrugged his shoulders and smirked back at her.

Whilst Zoey was on her sixth lap of the circuit, Chris effortlessly sprung himself up into and handstand. As he balanced and held himself steadily upside-down on both hands, he heard his cousin say something about being physically incapable of more laps. "I disagree..." he began, carefully turning his head so he could see her catching her breath back after a drink. "If you were physically unable to do more..." he said, pausing as he brought his feet back down to the floor so he could stand up. "You'd have collapsed in a pile of hungover disappointment and failure," he teased her.

Chris followed Zoey's gaze and saw Alfonso nearby, so he sent him a wave. "Why don't you join us? You're looking far too relaxed over there, for my liking!" he joked.

Chris raised a sceptical eyebrow as Zoey suggested he pinned her. "I hope you're not coming on to me. We're cousins... our kids would be mutants or some shit," he joked. Any follow-up of his was halted as he heard the rest of what she had to say; which was basically alluding to her antics the previous night. "Now, that's too much information," he said, with a disgusted expression on his face. She may have been his cousin, but he thought of her as more of a sister, so to hear about her sex life was just unsettling. He was sure Alfonso would feel the same way. "Well, I hope you know where the guy has been. I'm kind of reluctant to pin you in case I catch his cooties," he lightly teased her. He didn't like what he was hearing, but her brother was nearby and her father was in the house - so he wanted just a little time off from being the responsible adult in her life.

Chris walked towards the bench and retrieved a pair of boxing gloves, which he tossed to Zoey's feet for her to pick up. He then grabbed the strike shield which he would hold in front of himself for her to practice punching against. "If you hit me, I'll kick you in the balls!" he half-joked.

With: Bowie ReverseTex ReverseTex mentions:
Bowen had been shaken to his core to say the least. Regardless, he attempted to carry on with his work as if nothing had really happen. His eyebrows raised as he looked to his computer screen and his eyes glanced up around the chinese place. Speaking softly but clearly, he told Sophia of the plan the force had for their other undercover agents tonight. The young woman sighed into her microphone in answer before completely ignoring Bowen all together. He sighed as well before moving to remove his glasses from his face, wiping his eyes lightly, he leaned back against the rough and cheap plastic chair. It was hard working on a mission that was so close to home for him, at least the home he use to know. Tapping his finger agains the table, he listened in as Sophia and the others seemed to blend in with the Biancardi family perfectly, joking and laughing as if they weren't the biggest traitors to the family on the planet. Just like they were so delicately trained.

He was about to say something more about the mission tonight when an incoming message warned him of someone hacking into his system. Bowen watched in shock for a moment as his computer, which he took great care in protecting from such situation, was completely manipulated. His fingers quickly took to the keys as he tried to override the new threat to his system. If this were his personal computer, he would not have worried so much. His work computer was filled with top secret information that could have been used at any time. Luckily, he had enough protection to secure him in a public internet connection setting. This hacker would only be able to access the bare minimum of what would be needed to find him out. His browser opened to a dark web chat site and he raised an eyebrow again, wondering who the hell wanted to speak with him.

Sophia rolled her eyes at Chris' comment but nodded in response. Everyone who had made their appearance in the kitchen quickly filed out once the coffee was served. All but the big man himself, who seemed to be in a far more cheery mood than earlier today. Grabbing her own cup of coffee, she turned back towards the coffee pot with a large smirk on her face, feeling proud of the work the Rats and herself were getting accomplished here. It was hard to keep nerves of steel at times and she could see that it was hard for the newer recruits to not get attached. That part always came easy to Sophia, this family was doing things the wrong way to get what they wanted in life, not everyone could cheat the system like that and no one should be able to. Sophia was more than happy to bring these people to justice. This mission tonight would be one step close to end-"Sophia?" A voice pulled her from her thoughts quickly. The young woman turned around quickly to address the mafia boss and smiled slightly. Antonio smiled cheerfully back. "Chris may not have informed you of the little mission I have ready for you all tonight, but my son is going with you." Sophia raised an eyebrow at this news. Antonio may have been the devil in disguise, but he cared dearly for his family. The fact that he was letting his oldest go on a potentially dangerous mission was surprising. "Keep an eye on him will you? I know Chris will do his best as well." Sophia nodded softly in agreement. Alfonso Biancardi and her had a peculiar relationship, but it was one of mutual respect...at least from one side. "Sure thing boss." Sophia said to Antonio before the mafia leader patted her shoulder, causing her to wince ever so slightly. "Better go kiss the Mrs." He announced before practically bouncing out of the room with excess energy. This mission was putting him in a good mood.

Frowning momentarily, Sophia sighed and took herself and her cup towards the garden where everyone seemed to be. Walking out to hear all the commotion, Sophia smirked at Zoey and Chris' banter, finding it entertaining. Heels clicked behind her and she saw Lacey with her demon dogs watching the scuffle as well, clearly having the hots for her mentor...which made Sophia want to puke. Sophia smirked at Chris comment to Alfonso to join them and she nodded at the heir. "Seems like daddy's having you join the big boy squad now, might as well get some practice in before the real deal tonight hmm?" She asked quizzically wondering if he would partake in the mess. One of the dogs barked, causing Sophia to jump slightly and scowl their way. "Were you gonna wait to the last minute to tell me about this mission tonight? I could have plans you know, a date or some shit like that." She asked Chris, giving him a hard time for fun.

Bowie barely heard the sound of Barbie enter Floor 12, his head in a multitude of places. Biting his lip, he ran a stressed hand through his gelled hair, a habit usually due to stress. He could tell she sat beside him, the smell of her cigarette almost urging for him to reach for his own... “Listen to the tape Barb, that’s the only way I can explain it currently...”

His laptop dinged, a new message. Well done. Not many can get past my lines of defense so easily... Scoffing, the task had been virtually simple to him, but whoever his father was made it seem as if he was untouchable. Son like father I guess..?

Removing the earbud from his ear, not wishing to listen to whatever music his dad currently had stored on the tape, he sighed. Now lets get a few things straight. First, who are you? I can easily find that out if you don’t tell me. Second, i’d like to talk in person about a few things. Third, why the tape..?

Confusion sparkled in Barbie's brown eyes as she was handed a walkman from Bowie. Her eyebrow was slightly raised, curiosity and churned in her stomach as she hesitated to put the earbuds in. Her focus flickered up towards Bowie as she noticed him hunched over his laptop, Barbie's lips allowed a sigh to escape as she slipped the earbuds in and restarted the tape from the beginning.

“...I know you won't understand my reasons son, but its time you knew the truth.”

Questions ran through her mind as she replayed the cassette over and over again; Was this Bowie's dad? Barbie removed the earbuds and carefully placed the walkman down, frightened it may break by any sudden movements. Barbie stood up from her seat as she made her way to the other side of Bowie, leaning down to rest her chin on his right shoulder and placing her slender fingers on his seat. She didn't know what to feel except sadness, she knew what it was like to be fatherless. Her parents ignored her for most of her childhood and Bowie's dad wasn't even there, Barbie wrapped her tiny arms around Bowie into a soft hug, trying to comfort the man silently. Her eyes studied the screen in front of her, reading the messages sent by Bowie.

"Is this the guy from the walkman?" She asked, her voice hardly a whisper, "How did you find him, and why now?"

Zoey rolled her eyes when Chris disagreed with her statement but allowed a smirk to cross her lips at his description “I’m not far off” she muttered as she finished stretching. That much was true, Zoey was more than ready to lye down, the only reason she wasn’t lying down on the grass was she knew that she would never live down the teasing she would get.

Zoey watched as Chris stood up and took another drink of her water as she finally regained her breath. She couldn’t help the laugh that came out when Chris said she was trying to hit on him “hey you made that sexual not me” she said holding her hands defensively in the air but a smile played on her features. She laughed again at his disgusted face but chose not to grace him with an answer rather she just shrugged at him with a smirk displayed on her lips. She had winded him up enough for the minute, so she decided not to push the subject for now. Zoey turned her head to see that Sophia and Lacey were now in the yard and sent them both a smile before turning to see the gloves Chris had thrown at her feet.

She was so relived to see the gloves as she knew that the sprinting and core workouts were now done. Zoey bent down to pick up the gloves and felt a sudden wave of nausea come over her. Sighing, she balanced herself on her heels for a few seconds to allow it to pass before slowly standing back up. She was glad that Sophia seemed to be talking to Chris and hoped that he hadn’t seen her slight lapse into a hungover disgrace. She put the gloves on and smirked at his final comment “don’t worry I won’t touch the money maker” she joked as she got into the right pose, holding her arms up to protect her face, a cheeky smile came over her face as she looked at him “and it’s not like you have any balls for me to hurt” she stated in a half joking, half teasing tone. Zoey without warning began to hit the shield as hard and as fast as she could, making sure to keep her arms positioned so her face was protected the whole time, the last thing she needed was another lecture from Chris about getting hit in the face.

"Zoey, when you get to a certain age, everything becomes sexual," he randomly advised her, though kept the straightest of faces as he spoke. Was he even joking anymore?

Chris turned to Sophia when she addressed him. Despite being aware she was joking, his expression was a serious one. "To be honest, I'd intended on leaving you back here so you didn't get under my feet," he told her. If she was going to question him, joking or not, he would be a dick about it in return. Still, he managed a devious smile as his next words came to the forefront of his mind. "You don't have plans, my dear protege. Unless you've been catfishing some poor, unsuspecting guy on Tinder, you don't have a date tonight." Chris knew Sophia was an attractive woman, but that didn't mean he wouldn't tease her. "You, me, Alfonso... We'll be making sure the next shipment makes its way safely to the warehouse. I trust you know the drill?" he asked her. He figured she'd say if she needed his guidance and he would gladly give it as he wanted things to run smoothly for the boss.

Chris' attention then fixed on Lacey for a short time. She was always a treat for the eyes, mind and soul. His focus briefly wandered down to the two lovely dogs she had with her. He could have allowed his attention to linger in Lacey's direction, but he was fully aware he'd just handed a pair of boxing gloves to his cunning cousin who likely wanted some revenge on him right now, so he returned his head to the training at hand.

Zoey's smirk was returned when she promised not to hit him and followed it up by saying he didn't any balls to hurt. "I don't have any balls?! I would show you my balls right now, if it wasn't completely weird and inappropriate... Come on, now. Too much talking and not enough training," he seriously told her. The first hit came suddenly and harshly, but Chris stumbled back only very slightly. "Don't forget to control and focus the hits. It's no use trying to put all of the power in the punch if you're just going to slam your fists around like a moron."
