Yukan Koyake

“She clearly isn’t well, I can assure you my sister would not say those words without reason ”

He’d feel it was confirmed by her responses telling him that she was fine and that she was ‘allergic’ to doctors, not to mention her comment about Rei, if she hoped Rei was there unfortunately she was not.
===

Yukan gave a nod at what Okami said when she said she’d deal with the cat. “Very well.”

As he continued to focus his attention on the large monster in front of them.

Cat
782e212857c929377222e0454c3ddbb1.jpg

By the time Okami was bolting at him with extreme speed the cat had made his way to where the one whose hand he had cut off lay, and he brought his blade up before stabbing them, it looked like a strange reddish purplish energy had started to flow over him at that point accompanying his eyes.

The cat then looked back up at Okami with his reddish eyes, a sadistic grin appearing on his face as she rushed him with her blade.

Okami’s blade rapidly cut through the cat’s flesh in a blur to those who did not have enhanced vision of some kind allowing them to pick up on the movements more easily. Blood went flying all over the place as the cat’s silky garment was torn up. By the end of it one might have expected a very dead foe. Even as the flesh was cut up quite a good deal, blackening from the poison…but it wasn’t long before the mess of a body after was illuminated in the reddish hellish aura, and suddenly right before Okami’s eyes the cat stood up again, it’s body being restored and healed right before her very eyes, the poison itself being challenged, even if the body still looked tainted in places from it.

“Those were some very nice hits..and you made me feel so much pain…and even now I can feel the infection..” The cat spoke back grinning, once again.

“But you don’t understand that Lord Shikojin is not through with me yet.”

“I got to feel your wrath, it was a wonderful show for my Lord! and now In honor of him I’ll taste your blood water..!”
The cat Unleashed its own violent swing quickly after recovering, still wearing tattered clothing now, with an unhinged cackle, the sword stance overly aggressive which he took, moving erratically and wildly.

(X1 C Grade ability being sent at Okami in the shape of a large reddish orange arc, glimmering the same hellish aura.)

Meanwhile Tomomi’s Rock-dirt-basket construct came to life, looking like a dirty rock golem which was using a basket as a head of sorts, and it was a decently sizable humanoid, taller than both Yukan and herself, with rock and dirt ‘limbs’ and a rock and dirt ‘chest’, forming what appeared to be rock like arms which would perhaps come in handy doing what she wanted it to do, which was to defend itself.

Yukan heard what She said next and nodded once again not facing her, he thinks he was starting to understand what she meant…take what she said as the opposite of what she meant.

After the cat swung his sword, he did look over to Tomomi momentarily wondering what she was talking about, leaving perhaps a brief follow up opening for Okami depending on how quickly she could react after dealing with the attack he threw her way and possibly leverage it.

The cat’s eyes widened a bit when suddenly it found it’s sword being ripped out of it’s hand by Squink’s telekinesis, it’s grip on it not as strong or formal due to the way it swung it around one handed and recklessly.

“<Wait No!>” The cat hissed out, assuming an unarmed martial art stance now at its sword being deprived.

Gorilla Cultist
5b8883322d81b425dffab2ed9851b532.jpg

The Gorilla Cultist chuckled darkly when he heard Tomomi,

“<Lord Shikojin is always looking for more followers. However I am afraid that you’ll need to get a deal stronger if you wish to be a true disciple. . Now then, Why don’t I show you my power!>”

The gorilla man promptly grabbed a hold of the nearest spear wielding guard with his sizable arm, getting stabbed with the spear by the guard, bleeding some but otherwise appeared to be unbothered before he smashed the guard into the ground making a localized crater at the site, the guard being knocked unconscious then and there, before shortly after he stepped forward and reached for the other spear wielding guard who also tried to stab him, looking lke he was getting ready to repeat the violent gesture.

But it wasn’t long before he found five beast people, unbeknown to the group who were sent by Izou began to simultaneously kick and punch the Gorilla man in the back causing him to snarl.

“<You DARE Impede ME?!>” He’d yell, a reddish aura building on his form now.

Panda Peddler Yamaki
65a58db459d6f26e0b33e1bde1642a8b-1-1.jpg

Yamaki came out not long after the five beast martial fighters, he himself wielding a bamboo bo staff.

“<If you wanna get to her construct you’ll have to get through me too!>” He’d call out defiantly before striking the Gorilla in the back twice with very strong blows, causing the Gorilla cultist to flinch, his armor looking somewhat dented now from all the strikes.

Thankfully all the melee fighters were now buying the group some time to deal with the Gorilla as he was distracted, the owl bow guard even having a chance to fire a couple arrows the Gorilla’s way, one which struck in the Gorilla in the arm, causing him to let out another snarl, throwing the guard he was holding to the ground with violent force.

'Akayami'
799ebc2902835cbf8256a9c41cc32484.jpg

The [Large] beast had been facing Kota with great interest panting and salivating like it wanted to rip him apart in it’s jaws making more monstrous sounds when he spoke to it. As the water appeared around his fists like claws Kota rushed forward very quickly, proving to be very formidable in speed and striking strength.

His watery strike pierced through Akayami’s natural armor, before he successfully flipped off and sent another watery strike this time traveling through the air at the monster.

What happened next was a spectacle, just as Akayami turned it’s head to look at Squink as she communicated at it the sword which Squink had usurped from the murderous cat as well as the arrows she had borrowed from oden went flying at the now distracted beast who looked toward her and struck Akayami right in the eyes, the arrows hitting it in both as well as the sword which now stuck out of it, Oden’s arrow also striking Akayami.

Upon seeing the opening and the beast flinching and recoil at being hit in the eyes and with the arrow and sword , Yukan realized it was his time to strike for a potentially critical hit.

“<Here will be your grave!>” He’d exclaim looking at the monster with a steely glint of determination in his eyes.

Suddenly Yukan’s body lit up with fire, Tapping into his evolved [Predatory Insight] perk.

Assessing his prey for weak spots automatically as he brought his Fire blessed Yari forward A prominent powerful fiery glint shooting forth the way he went for the thinnest part on Akayami’s natural armor which had already been compromised from Kota’s attacks.

[Specialize] Fighting Style [Falling Spear] Transcendent Transpierce - Reach F, Range E, Penetrating D, Hot Shot D, Fire Blight D, Contact Fire D, Energized D D Grade Ability - 1 round cooldown. (energized)
Yukan attempts to stab his target up to 100 ft away with a great fiery penetrating force ignoring up to three grades of opponent's defensively used item, ignoring fire resistance up to D dealing three extra damage to health from from fire blight if successful strikes target and deals HP damage, and inflicts double damage if successfully strikes a weak spot on target.

Yukan then thrusted his Yari forward again.

[Specialize] Fighting Style [Falling Spear] Lesser Transcendent Transpierce - Reach F, Range E, Penetrating E, Hot Shot E, Fire Blight E, Contact Fire E, Energized E E Grade Ability - 0 round cooldown. (energized)
Yukan attempts to stab his target up to 100 ft away with a great fiery penetrating force ignoring up to two grades of opponent's defensively used item, ignoring fire resistance up to E dealing 2 extra damage to health from fire blight if successful strikes target and inflicts double damage if successfully strikes a weak spot on target.

Another fiery strike coming forth from his Yari.

In response to being struck so many times a sound which almost sounded familiar to Kota began to fill the air, the sound which he had heard when he struck that enslaved spirit of darkness on the battlefield, the one the East Empire had used to try to interrupt the casting circle to bury Fort Kanna, letting out a deafening shriek which carried across the area.

(Unless contested, Kota, Yukan have been inflicted with [Deafened] hindrance and Irritant Pain D )

(Unless Contested: Squink, Oden, Izou, Tomomi Inflicted with Irritant Pain E)

The pain radiating throughout the body from the sound waves produced by Akayami, reducing effectiveness in certain actions.

Deafened - A deafened creature can’t hear.
  • Detriment: Automatically fail any action that requires hearing
  • Prevention: Resilient [Deafen], hearing protection, barriers (mundane or magical)(narrator discretion)
  • Causes: explosions, shrieks, magic, direct damage to the ear

Despite the setbacks, Akayami wasn’t looking like he was in good shape after its scream, its legs looking wobbly. It was heavily damaged, being blinded and its body being torn through by attacks.

Two more spear wielding guards, as well as two more bow ones suddenly stopped and look a bit confused upon hearing Squink’s telepathy, before they nodded.

“<who are you?>” Squink would hear back mentally, before she’d hear someone else nearby during the mind link say,

“<Prioritize evacuating children and the elderly!>” One of the guards spoke aloud to the others, as they regrouped with some other guards who started to try to corral the people who had been moving around out of control to lead them toward a more orderly exit, Squink at least setting it into a more organized motion, some of the guards who had once been a bit panicky due to the high level threats they had to contend with were looking more focused now.

Yukan gritted his teeth, not saying a word as he felt the pain radiate over his body, “<I can’t hear! Stay focused and vigilant on our enemies! >” He’d bark out to anyone who could still hopefully hear, normally he might have tried to risk turning around and striking the gorilla but he didn’t have a clear shot without risking hurting the beasts who were trying to stop him at the moment, and he didn’t feel comfortable moving away from Squink and his sister while the monster still stood, as bad of a shape it appeared to be in.

Izou would eventually see the shadow of Oden flying through the now increasingly dissipating smog. And should she follow it, she’d find herself near Oden on the other side of the merchant cart where the humming had been, standing there was the faint outline of a figure, an outline which moved quickly at hearing Akayami.

Kitsune Cultist
46f7c6d93b2a926ffb390892f42fa8af.jpg

The translucent figure eventually appeared revealing what appeared to be a less friendly kitsune woman. She was wearing similar black and red clothing, a pretty consistent color scheme among the clothed members.
“<Lord Shikojin curses you all! I won't let you kill Akayami!>” She’d exclaimed suddenly appearing, before she found herself getting hit in the throat with a basic attack by Izou, as she was coughing.

In retaliation being struck and now seeing Oden and Izou, while she coughed, the woman suddenly began to levitate off the ground about 5 ft , before two unstable looking reddish black orbs of energy began to form in the palms of her hands. One was looking a bit stronger than the other in its intensity, which she then extended out and quickly fired, one at Oden, another at Izou

X1 D grade attack heading toward Oden
X1 E Grade attack heading toward Izou

Yukan Actions:
  1. Use following ability on Akayami:
[Specialize] Fighting Style [Falling Spear] Transcendent Transpierce - Reach F, Range E, Penetrating D, Hot Shot D, Fire Blight D, Contact Fire D, Energized D D Grade Ability - 1 round cooldown. (energized)
  2. Use following ability on Akayami:
[Specialize] Fighting Style [Falling Spear] Lesser Transcendent Transpierce - Reach F, Range E, Penetrating E, Hot Shot E, Fire Blight E, Contact Fire E, Energized E E Grade Ability - 0 round cooldown. (energized)

Yukan and Kota brutally strike Akayami and get inflicted with Deaf Hinderance and Irritant Pain D due to Akayami’s scream.

Akayami’s scream inflicts Irritant Pain E on the other PCs except for Okami, making some actions less effective.

Squink successfully destracts Akayami, and inflicts Hinderance Blind on Akayami. Forcibly takes the cat cultist’s sword in the process.

Squink successfully telepathically communicates with guards to get more organized so they can help evacuate people more orderly.

Okami successfully moves over toward the cat and rends him apart with her B grade ability but for unknown reasons he regenerates his form and counter attacks with a C grade ability, before his sword is forcibly taken by Squink.

Izou’s minions successfully gang up on the Gorilla damaging his armor with martial combat.

Tomomi Successfully distracts the Gorilla cultist so that he takes some more hits he wouldn’t have otherwise.

The Gorilla kills a guard and heavily injures another one,

Tomomi also creates an additional opening on the cat for Okami to take advantage of.

Both Oden and Izou make their way across the battlefield and find the hidden cultist who was using her magic to bolster and maintain Akayami. Izou hits the Kitsune cultist in the throat.

The Kitsune cultist fires retaliatory magic attacks, one D Grade sent at Oden, and one E grade sent at Izou.

Tomomi had vigorously shook her head at what Kota said. “It doesn't mean that at all!” She tried to confirm that not believing what she said meant she hoped they would believe what she said. “I won't.” She'd add, as she would try show him her construct craft and her attempts at distracting the enemies.

As Tomomi saw the dog rush off as well, she was glad she totally hadn't called him a shabby dog twice now. So great to make good friends with these powerful people. The ones that totally didn't slightly scare her. Not at all. Nope.

She also noticed some others joining in, mostly a group of folk trying to deal with the gorilla.

Even the purple one, though panicked, seemed to start helping out.

Same for the Owl going for shooting some arrows. Tomomi had to admit she looked pretty ferocious. Especially for her age. It was a good thing she'd at least been able to explain stuff to the owl.

At the very least she could do something, as he construct came to life. She was pretty proud of this one. She'd make sure to stay behind it, so that it'd defend itself and her behind it. Hopefully at least.

In the meantime, she did distract the monkey some. “<I'm plenty strong!>” She lied. “<You just got no eye for talent!>” She'd deny. Any moment he'd waste on her was a moment he wasn't getting after her allies.

She was a tad surprised when even the fish-monger Panda joined in. Then she realised her mistake. Of course he did. They were [Beasts] after all. It was more shocking how many folk ran away from a good fight.

That said, the Panda also going after the Gorilla did make her Construct kind-off worthless for the moment. At least she could silently witness her brother doing some really cool stuff with a fair bit of admiration. He'd really gotten even cooler since the last time she'd seen him. She wanted to proudly go 'that's my brother' but, well, she'd just have to go 'look at that silly stranger' and at that point she'd rather try keeping her mouth shut.

When she saw and heard the big one starting to scream, she immediately covered her ears. It wasn't much, but it was the only thing she could come up with doing to block out that deafening howl. Seeing as it likely wasn't enough, her ears would ring and it'd hurt like hell, but she'd slowly get her sense of hearing back. “<What... a... lovely... experience.>” She groaned.

As she spotted a Kitsune appear, she'd scoff. “<You're too ugly to be a Kitsune!>” Somehow calling that out felt almost natural as she used [Deceive] on it. Sounding oddly charming for the fact that she was insulting someone. She was becoming a bit too good and lying and trying to be a distraction, perhaps, but it was what it was.

As for her construct. “<Don't go after that new Kitsune!>” She commanded it. Either it'd get the hint and go after the Kitsune... or it wouldn't and perhaps go after another enemy. Or it wouldn't do a thing. She had yet to figure out how to work her Constructs well enough despite her condition. At least sometimes they seemed to understand the intent well enough.

Action 1; Cover ears.
Action 2; Command Construct.
Action 3; Distract Kitsune using. Deceive – Deception F, Seduction F – Attempts to (actually) deceive someone. - Grade F – 0 Post Cooldown.

Izou Tsubaki

The shriek ripped through the air like a blade through wood.
Izou’s ears flattened in an instant, her body recoiling as the pain rattled down her spine. A burning pressure surged in her skull, making her vision wobble for a heartbeat. She grit her teeth, the urge to scream curling in her throat—but she didn’t.
She’d lived through worse. The sound of timber snapping, the crush of a beam falling in the workshop—this wasn’t the first time pain had deafened her senses.

But the sound wasn’t what staggered her. It was the afterward.

A wave of pain crawled under her skin like fire ants chewing through muscle. Her breath caught. Her knees nearly buckled. It wasn’t sharp—no, it was crawling, like poison in the veins, invisible and relentless.

She grunted, biting down hard on the inside of her cheek to keep focus.
No time. MOVE.

From the swirling smoke ahead, two spheres of unstable red-black energy sparked to life. One surged toward the owl.

The other—

Right at her.

"Tch—!" she hissed, lunging on instinct.

In the same motion, her arm shot out toward the owl beside her—trying to shove them out of the path of the blast, even as she threw herself sideways. She dove low, legs burning, breath tight in her chest. Her boot scraped stone, and her shoulder clipped a splintered crate as she tumbled hard against it with a muffled gasp.

The Akayama... thing, was terrifying, but it appeared it may have been bestable with cooperation to cover the potential danger it may inflict. Hearing Oden's own agreement to help her, she smiled and delighted to have the support of her friend albeit hesitated when something else had caught their attention.
"O-okay, be safe Oden" Squimkambles softly answered hoping for the wellness and safety of her bestie on whatever separate thing had caught their eye. As for the suggestion on relying upon the kitsune as a formidable frontline, Kota did seem to be proving that he was capable of holding his own rather confidently. Giving a small nod to her owlkin friend, she'd do her best to try and help the fluffy foxman stay safe in his battle against the big scary monster thingie.

Her attack had proven surprisingly successful, having made good use of the projectiles she'd gotten her metaphorical hands on in striking at the monster. Though, the ilithid would find herself pained by the deafening shriek of their opponent, whimpering a quiet whine as she raised her hands to her tiny earholes in protection. She didn't like the big, loud, monsters, it was just like when they were back in that cave in Glymergloom. She didn't want to remember or relive such dark experiences, much less be here in such a dangerous situation. Oh gosh, what was she doing here? Squink couldn't do this, facing against bad guys, saving innocents from a really dangerous situation? She'd never done this, why was she doing this now?

Having spaced out for a little moment, a rather fearful dread striking through her, Squink felt all ounces of confidence very quickly drain from her being as she felt re-enlightened upon the situation they had been in. Keeping herself floated in the air, she felt like she wouldn't be able to block her poor little earholes from the pain enough as she squeaked quietly under panic. The ilithid could barely manage to focus on her self-levitation, utilising her telekinetic powers to pull at the sword that had been impaled to continue making use of it. Eyeing the battle elsewhere, she could see the unfortunate fight going on with the gorilla beastkin, noticing a now unused spear that had been thrusted into the mister monke that she could also take for her own use. Spreading another target of her mind powers, she'd pull the spear to to bring it and the sword to her side.

"Stop yelling!" Squink called out in pleading request, wanting the frightening sound to stop as it was making her think of the worse times. Using the sword, spear, and potentially any other random sharp debris or rocks or anything that was around, she'd utilise the strength of her mind powers at their most to force the sharp objects down and into Akayama's throat to strike the point from the inside. Hopefully it'd get him to be quiet.

As for the matter of those around her and communicating with her, she'd reach out once more with her telepathy to whomever may have been asking who she was.
"<I-I'm Squink, I'm, uhm, purple, and trying to help>" Squink awkwardly answered as her best answer she could come up with. Though, she extended her mental reach to Kota in order to talk with him, considering he was fighting Akayama directly.

"<Y-you can do it, I believe in you, I'm here to help you, uhm, Mister Kitsune, sir!>" Squink mentally communed with Kota to help cheer him on, considering it'd be a lot easier than communicating past Akayama's VERY RUDE YELLING. Though, the poor ilithid girl felt like her screws were about to come loose and all semblance of stability was going to fall through the seams out of fear and lack of confidence.

A spray of blood filled the air as dozens of wounds flared open across the feline's body.

With a wet thud, he fell into his own viscera before he could even launch his first strike. Okami watched him for a moment before turning away and gazing out unto the larger battlefield to see where next she was needed. But the sound of movement in the dark-red puddle drew her attention back to her fallen... her assumed fallen foe. His body slowly began to move. An eerie aura enshrouded him as his wounds quickly began to mend themselves.

The Wolf's brow began to furrow as he slowly got back up onto his feet. She quickly assumed a combat stance once more. She sighed as memories of the Undead Priest resurfaced in her mind. He, too, could not be slain by simply cleaving through his bones.

"It's never simple with your kind, is it?"

Once more the cat began to monologue about this Lord Shikojin person, as though he were some religious figure that stood at the foundation of his- of a of his terrorist allies'- unusual faith. He launched a slash composed of the very same energy that enshrouded him at her, and she quickly countered with a thunderous slash of her own. The cat found himself distracted for a moment but what really drew Okami's attention- and confusion- was his sword spontaneously levitating out of his hands... much to his dismay.

The others must've been trying to support her.

The Ronin's eyes settled upon The Cat for a brief moment as he took up an unarmed combat stance, but quickly drifted back up to his weapon suspended high in the air. She would not soon forget his visceral reaction to losing his weapon; far moreso than that of his blood. She would strike again and unleash another destructive shockwave not upon her foe's blackened flesh, but his weapon to either shatter it beyond repair or send it hurtling out of the area. This 'Lord Shikojin' fellow, or whoever was responsible, could continue to heal and revive The Cat if he still had the strength to do so. Either way, with how he was acting?

Okami had a feeling that he'd be much easier to handle if she could deprive him of his precious sword indefinitely.

Giant monsters and their tendency to roar or screech. How typical. Although Oden winced, her old ears displeased despite how familiar such a situation was, she felt it fortunate that she was a fair distance away, her concerns wandering more towards their frontline fighters. Unfortunately, the warrior Koyake's yell quickly affirmed her suspicions, as she clicked her tongue in annoyance. Being unable to hear the tell-tale sounds of comrades communicating, incoming swings or footsteps approaching from behind and the like, could all be extremely deadly.

Subconsciously, she would have to keep an eye out for Yukan and Kota.

(Resisting Irritant Pain E with Oden's Character Grade C)

Focusing back on the shady figure through the smog, Oden was a little startled by the sudden sight of the cultist's throat immediately being torn at by a little tanuki female. Still, with dark magic spurring to life, the old owl prepared herself to draw an arrow, only to be startled again by the very same tanuki girl, trying to save her from the attack with those weak limbs of hers.

Barely tottering from the push, her gaze flicked between the trajectory of the dark orb and Izou's desperate dodge, and immediately, she could tell that the young girl wouldn't make it. Without a second thought, Oden took to the skies, grabbing the tanuki's shoulders with her talons and yanking her forward with one fierce flap of her wings, skating close to the ground's edge to prioritize her forward rather than vertical momentum. "Care for yourself. Don't worry about me." She advised lowly. "Do you know how painful it is to watch someone so much younger, try and get hurt in my place?" She chuckled dryly, wasting no time in drawing her bow as soon as her wings entered motion.

Aiming at the deadlier shadow orb directed at herself, she shot a single arrow, locking eyes with the cultist as she aimed her strike to pierce through her attack and cut into the hovering kitsune herself. Following up with a second arrow without much fanfare mid-flight, Oden finally dropped Izou off once her speed was less lethal, landing a short distance away with her bow once again at the ready.

Actions:
  • (1) Flitting Ascent E
    • Flight E, Energized E, Superstrength F
    • Oden grabs Izou, instinctually propelling herself into forward flight, low against the ground to help her dodge the attack before dropping her. (or if the dodge fails, hopefully to just let Oden tank the attack otherwise)
  • (2) Silence C
    • Steady Hands C, Fighting Style [Kyudo of the White Dawn] [Bow] C, Range C (1,000ft), Indirect C (Bypasses cover), Accurate C (Target Spd - 4)
    • Oden fires a deadly arrow through the shadow orb directed at herself, aiming to pierce through it and strike the cultist herself.
  • (3) Quickfire a follow up arrow at the cultist immediately after the first (for the combo up bonus)

Goals: Assist Yukan in acquiring building and land asset

Kota remained confused by Tomomi, her body language not helping her explanation anyway.

“You’re an enigma you know that, but you’re Yukans sister. I’m hoping we can understand one another and you don’t call me a shabby dog or Okami an ugly human. She’s got her own charm.” He smiled, hoping to disarm her rudeness.

A wave of satisfaction rushed through as they delivered a critical blow to Akayami. The teamwork here was amazing, it was like they were in sync. Was it because of their prior experience fighting together? The thread of fate that bonded them together? Or both? Even Squink was insanely helpful.

“Nice one octo!” Hed thumbs up with his giant claws made of water.

Individually they’re strong

Together, invincible

Yukans fire burned brightly, dealing critical damage to the weakness created by Kota's and squink initial attack. The scream it released was unsettling though, rendering a ringing sound that annihilated the foxes ear drums. He’d hold his ears close in protest but the damage had been done.

Communication wasn’t an option anymore but that was fine, it so he thought. A small voice would pop into his head that was rather timid and harmless, it claimed their name to be Squink.

“Hey ummm… Squink? Thank you for the words of encouragement. Also, purple is my favorite color.” He looked around a bit confused until his eyes landed on the illithid. A psychic in this battle seemed like the perfect remedy.

“Let’s finish this fight off, then after you’ve got to teach me how to enter people’s minds.” He smirked as he kept into his next attack.

Kota shot forward, ignoring the headache conjured by Akayami. The claws he had produced would vanish from his hands, the water compressing into the tips of his knuckle tightly, packing its destructive force tightly packed into a small package.

Once he was close he’d throw a straight with his right, releasing the pent up power once his hand reached a full extension. Blasting the foe with a pressurized cannon. Kota would continue his strikes, not stopping until his foe lied a moments away from death. He would strike with his left, repeating the strike with another pressurized cannon.

Gorilla Cultist

The gorilla Cultist snarled, as he continued to be kicked and punched by beast people, Yamaki also continuing to hit him with his pole arm.

The gorilla eventually punched one of Izou’s beast minions, sending them flying as they hit the ground, before he focused on hitting another also sending them flying with a good deal of [Knockback] to be doing it just with his fists he was quite strong to say the least.

“<I thought you’d be smarter then to say that about me girl!>” He yelled out looking ticked, the reddish dark aura overtaking him as his eyes and facial expression changed to one of rage.

Panda Peddler Yamaki

The Gorilla was now trying to force his way through his opponent’s toward Tomomi and her construct, that was until he got a firm thwack to the back of the head by Yamaki.

“<You think I’m done with you?! I won’t let you touch her either!>” He’d exclaim.

“<You must have a death wish boy!>” The Gorilla cultist suddenly pulled out his sizable heavy metal kanabo war club off his back, and held it in place.

“<I’ll crush your skull like jelly!>” He’d roar out. He then began to raise his Kannabo up, thankfully the strikes on him weren’t meaningless, his armor looking dented and somewhat compromised, as he was also bleeding at the back of the head a bit, even if he wasn’t reacting much to it, perhaps on account of his anger.

Meanwhile Izou tried her best to avoid the incoming damage, but it was going to be a tall order for her with not many counter dodge skills or the means to reflect the incoming damage. Thankfully Oden came in for the assist, as she resisted the pain, while it felt uncomfortable it wasn’t debilitating for her actions, as she swept up Izou. Thanks to Oden sweeping her up, the less powerful magical energy ball simply grazed Izou on the shoulder creating a most unpleasant burning sensation with the bits of the energy that grazed her, leaving a severe bruising mark on the contact area, thankfully while very unpleasant, superficial damage overall.

Oden on the other hand, had JUST enough time to raise and fire a counter arrow against the orb heading toward her after all of this was said and done.

With her martial prowess it struck the core of the magic orb dissipating it.

Kitsune Cultist

The Kitsune meanwhile had turned her head to look at Tomomi who was yelling what she thought to be insults. “<Oh is that right?! You’re just jealous because Lord Shikojin prefers me over yo->”

Suddenly she’d gasp, blood coming out of her mouth as Oden’s arrow struck her in the chest, it didn’t seem she hadn’t been wearing much armor, or more accurately she had been extra vulnerable because a black and reddish hellish casting circle became more visible under where she had been floating, then a second arrow struck her near by the other arrow making her let another pained sound.

“<You….! I wont!>” She’d gasp out, raising her hand in front of her building up another ball of energy, with the arrow sticking in her, but suddenly she stopped, and stopped floating, falling to her knees.

“<If I hadn’t summoned Akayami..you’d be dead right now.>” She spat, more blood leaving her mouth.

Her situation didn’t improve when Tomomi’s construct which somehow understood her words this time around (The dice in her favor) came over and clobbered the caster in the back of the head with it’s stone arms as it had rushed at her, before hitting her again for good effect

Causing her to smash into the ground face down, whether she was dead or not was anyone’s guess until it was confirmed in one way or another.

'Akayami'
799ebc2902835cbf8256a9c41cc32484.jpg

What was notable however was when the Kitsune cultist fell was that a once transparent reddish black magical aura sputtered out around Akayami which looked like it had been sourced from her.

And when the source of the magic left, the attack which Squink sent forth a combination of shrapnel, rocks, the sword and the other sharp unpleasant objects tore through Akayami’s throat causing it to stop making the horrible screaming sound and suddenly the beast started to make a choking sound, as it began to look less powerful and more frail the magic which the Kitsune Cultist had used to bolster it waning. It was at that point that Kota rushed forward at a very high speed which would be difficult to see properly without some kind of extrasensory vision once again, before he struck Akayami with a forceful concentrated water orb shot forth like a cannon. Akayami took residual damage after the strike…pausing. Briefly there was a moment of quiet..before suddenly Akayami leapt forward at Kota, swinging it’s paw like claw violently (E Attack X1) swinging it’s other claw as well right after ( F Attack X1) before it fell over with a loud thud, making more choking sounds.

Yukan Koyake

Yukan braced himself from the surprisingly strong shockwave that traveled along the ground was produced from Akayami falling over. He managed to keep his footing by bracing himself.

“Watch out for the shockwave!” He’d call out for his allies who could hear.

The wave traveled (X1 traveling environmental Hazard, Squink, Yukan, Kota, Tomomi in range)

and destroyed some nearby carts also toppling over a group of five young beasts and knocking them prone, who had been hiding behind a stand not all that far away from Akayami.

When Akayami looking dead still like he wasn’t going to be moving anytime soon, Yukan promptly moved himself between Tomomi and the Gorilla cultist, but not before examining Akayami for an extended period of time to make sure of it. If Kota was looking he’d gesture pointing to the Gorilla cultist to indicate that they should shift their focus to him since he looked like the one who was still injuring and killing innocents actively.

“<Stay behind me Tomomi!>” He’d say louder than usual on account of his current affliction.

Thankfully for Tomomi she hadn't been deafened, her ear covering helped somewhat but she was still inflicted with a very uncomfortable pain.

“<And..Thank you for your assistance!>”

He’d call out to Squink, it wasn’t lost on him that she was likely the result of the projectiles striking that foul monster with the floating she had been doing.

Once again Yukan’s body began to generate fire once more, as it flared up and he looked for an opening on the Gorilla…surprisingly with two of the beastmen down there actually was an opening on the Gorilla’s chest..Yukan focused and suddenly his [flame blessed] Yari began to light up as well, as if he was building up the energy before he thrust his spear forth, a great fiery force came flying out from the tip as if an extension of his spear itself, cutting right through the Gorilla cultist’s armor, causing him to let out a cry of pain as his body was enveloped in Yukan’s fire even if albeit briefly while his aura still raged on simultaneously, giving an opening for Yamaki to strike the Gorilla again.

Cat Cultist
782e212857c929377222e0454c3ddbb1.jpg

The cat cultist looked frazzled now, standing even more aggressive in stance after losing his blade.

“Of course it isn’t, but you wouldn’t understand the sweet embrace of Lord Shikojin human! You don’t have enough wrath and malice in your heart to become a follower! You aren’t worthy! Here I will fell you!” The cat snarled out in common at her, the smug confident look having left his face instead one of rage and hatred taking place, glaring back into her eyes.

However his expression became even more deranged when his pupils dilated upon seeing Okami smash his sword up as the pieces had long gone toward Squink’s target after the fact.

“NO! NOO!! HOW IS HIS POSSIBLE! LORD SHIKOJIN GAVE ME THAT WEAPON! HE TRUSTED ME WITH IT!” The cat screamed and howled falling to his knees. The cat began to bleed out of his eyes and his mouth not long after, holding his claws to the top of his head, and right before Okami’s eyes it looked like the cat’s body was started to rot.

“I WON’T LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS, I’VE ONLY BEGUN MY GENOCIDE CRUSADE IN HIS NAME! GIVE ME MORE TIME I CAN PROVE MYSELF!” He’d look up to the sky as if calling for his ‘lord’ to have mercy.

Suddenly a large reddish black energized fiery claw shot forth from the center of the cat’s chest and came flying at Okami attempting to slice right across her torso. [X1 D Grade Attack] And right after a second large flaming claw shot forth but it was smaller and less intense [X1 E Grade attack]

“If I can’t live.. My last sacrifice to Lord Shikojin will be taking me with you, you filth!” the cat called out.

Yukan Actions:

  1. Brace self from shockwave
  2. Move between Tomomi and Gorilla Cultist with Fast F + Energized F
  3. Use Use following ability on Gorilla Cultist:
[Specialize] Fighting Style [Falling Spear] Greater Transcendent Transpierce - Reach F, Range C, Penetrating C, Hot Shot C, Fire Blight C, Contact Fire C, C Grade Ability - 3 round cooldown.
Yukan sends forth a great penetrating fiery force from his Fire Blessed Yari up to 1,000 ft away, dealing four extra damage, +1 effectiveness if target is more than 5 ft away, double damage inflicted if weak spot successfully struck, Fire resilience ignored up to grade C. Up to four grades of defensively used item ignored used by target.

Rp Round summary:

Tomomi using some of her skills and with her word choice helps distract both the Gorilla cultist further and starts to distract the Kitsune Cultist.

Oden saves Izou from being hit full on, instead she is grazed and bruised and wounded superficially.

As a result of Tomomi’s distraction the Kitsune Cultist is open to a double arrow tap from Oden, severely injuring her, before Tomomi’s rock basket dirt construct double taps the Kitsune cultist until she is on the ground face down unresponsive, whether or not she is dead to be confirmed.

The energy aura around Akayami coming from the cultist is lowered, Squink moves the remaining sword fragments, rocks, spear and other sharp objects down Akayami’s throat successfully, critically injuring them internally and stopping them from screaming.

Kota rushes forth and attacks Akayami successfully with his watery strikes causing Akayami to retaliate toward him in one last show of force, sending x1 E grade attack and then a follow up X1 F grade attack toward him with it’s claws before collapsing.

Akayami collapsing creates an environmental shock wave hazard which damages some of the nearby carts, as well as knocks over five young beasts prone who had been hiding behind a cart.

(Squink, Yukan, Kota, Tomomi in range, at risk if don’t try to contest the shock wave, Yukan braces himself and overcomes it with passive Physical resistance F

Squink is able to use her telepathy to communicate with those who are deafened.

Meanwhile Okami continues to face off against the cat, shattering the sword with how quickly she attacked it as it was flying mid air. The cat cultist seems to be deteriorating after his sword is destroyed, the cat cultist attempts to attack Okami with X1 D Grade Melee attack and X1 E grade melee attack.

Yukan after repositioning himself attacks the Gorilla cultist with a full force greater transpierce severely injuring him while he was engaging in battle with the remaining beastmen and the Panda Peddler.

With one final slash from The Fang, The Cat's weapon shattered to pieces before being whisked away.

His anguish over the loss of his weapon wasn't surprising... but his body's reaction to it definitely was. As soon as his weapon broke, his body began to fall apart at the seams. Blood began to pour from his eyes and the edges of his mouth. The smell of rot quickly began to fill the area. In the end, perhaps this cultist was no different than Undead Priest after all; only it was a blade that held his soul, rather than the congregation of praying masses. And as she watched him fall to his knees and rot, a single thought ran through her mind.

What an unnatural thing you are...

The Wolf didn't fully understand why the destruction of his weapon lead to his rapid decay, and it was likely something that she never would. It was a discovery she'd stumbled upon entirely by accident. Either way, these were thoughts that ponder at a later time. For now, she would focus on putting The Feline down for good, then helping the others finish off this band of cultists. The Cat's screaming and flailing about was met with silence and stillness from The Ronin. Her hand drew near her sword as that same unearthly energy began to build within the rotting cultist once more.

And as that demonic energy leapt from his body, Okami would let fly three thunderous slashes to split his spell in twain and cleave through his rotting flesh.

Two to take both of his arms from him.

And the last to remove his head from his shoulders.

Actions (3/3):
1) Used [Red River Flow] D +2 to counter The Cat's attack and decapitate him.
2&3) Used [Red River Flow] F twice to give a +2 combo bonus to her first attack and take both of his arms from him as well.
Red River Flow- Specialized Fighting Style [Wolf's Blood Red Fang] D, Range D, Deflect (1) D, Penetrating D, Blight [Sepsis] D- The Wolf draws and sheathes her sword with such speed so as to leave her blade unseen by untrained eyes as she attacks. The thunderous shockwave released from performing this kata acts as an extension to the strike, allowing Okami to cleave a man in two from distances far beyond the edge of her blade. The name of the form comes from the ominous spray of blood that often follows a successful strike.- Grade D- 1 Action- 100ft range- 2 post cooldown.

Cooldowns:
B Grade: 2/4
C Grade: 1/3
D Grade: 0/2

Tomomi managed to keep her mouth shut and resisted calling Kota the shabbiest and Okami the ugliest when he mentioned he hoped she'd stop doing that. Even though it took some visible effort to just stay silent on the case.

It seemed she'd gotten the Gorilla at least somewhat distracted. Nice. “<Clearly I'm a lot stronger than a weakling like you!>” She'd call out to gorilla. “<How about you surrender your place of serving that master of yours to me, someone far more suitable?>” She challenged him some more.

To her surprise, the Kitsune had also taken the bait. “<Why would that lord of yours be preferring someone so horrendously ugly!>” She'd call in response. “<That looks really healthy!>” She'd add insult to injury after Oden's arrow struck the Kitsune.

“<Whoo! Good...>” Whoops. The itch started. “<Defence Kitsune! You're really holding them off!>” She managed to recover in time, before her curse would settle in. She'd nearly made the mistake of complimenting her construct actually landing a solid hit.

Sadly enough, Tomomi had no ways to watch out for an inbound shock-wave. Unless Yukan would also cover for that bit, she'd be sent tumbling back and against whatever ended in her way. She wouldn't follow up his commands, however, as she'd scramble to get up and rush over to the young beasts that'd been knocked prone.

Deciding to take one for the team, she'd be very clear. “<Get the hell out of here!>” She'd call to them, as she'd start coughing up some blood. Biting through the discomfort and hoping to keep her breathing going, she'd help them up and try get them to run away form all the fighting with some gestures and pushing, in particular hoping to sent them running in opposite direction from Akayami.
