Fantasy Xodara's Domain

As the Interest Check forum title would state, this is, in fact, an Interest Check. And that is all I am looking for: a show of hands, if you will, to indicate if a significant number of you would be interested in participating in this RP idea of mine. What is it, you ask? Or more likely, when will this guy shut up and just summarize his idea? The answer is...................... now.


Basically, a bunch of kids are sent "beta copies" of a highly-anticipated online game experience, rumored to be the MMO to end all other MMOs: Xodara's Domain. Nearly limitless character customization, a massive in-game world, and more events, PvP, quests, and ancient buried treasure than you can shake a controller at. However, upon booting up the beta, the players are physically transported inside the game's expansive realm, unable to leave until they solve the mystery of their presence there. They must play through the game's world, trudging through dungeons, crypts, forests, wastelands, temples, and cities in order to find their way back home, guided along by a mysterious talking animal companion who seems to know more about their existence in the domain than he lets on...


So, what do you guys think? Comments? Questions? Suggestions? Insults?

The difference is the fact that the beta players' bodies are physically located in the game's world, not just virtual reality. They are literally in the game. Plus it's not just like, "Beat the game to escape!". The game can't technically be "beaten", it's an MMO.

Wow that sounds really cool. I'm interested! Do you already have a string of quests in mind for them to escape?

I don't wanna get too in-depth with how it'll go, Fire, but essentially, the in-game quests don't directly help them escape. Completing quests will, however, give them valuable experience points and equipment that will strengthen the characters and help prepare them for the real challenges they need to overcome to escape.


 
The way out is cleverly and intricately hidden in the game world, and the challenges within this "exit route" require very strong characters.

Kind of reminds me of Homestuck, but it does pique my interest. How exactly would the game work?

I like this idea (always have it's been sitting in my mind forever), and this definitely seems awesome, but it seems like the post quality might be too high for me... What would the post requirements be?

Dustin, imagine you're playing World of Warcraft, but the only people playing with you are the 49-ish other beta testers. And none of you knows for sure how to escape.


Hunny, posting requirements would probably be a little less than a paragraph per post, with no one-liners. You and the others won't be able to post quite as much because you don't know much about the game, but once you become a little more familiarized, I might raise the posting length a bit.

No dice, play only your character, the animal companion I will be playing. I give you options on what to do next, you guys choose what to do.

oh yes i thought up something in the whole bodies in the game world would that mean if they can't do something int he real world they can't do that in the game?
