Skye almost laughed at his reddened cheeks, "That's because you've only seen not even a quarter of the rage, wait until the rest of it comes and you'll know why I chose Savage," she aid it almost as if was a threat, a playful threat of course. "And I am not rough around the edges, I may have anger issues but I think everyone here does."

Oh no, he actually knew who her father was, well it was a good thing he wasn't at the mansion at the moment. And even happier that Darren was occupied with other things. Then that hit her, Darren was still sad, and probably in need of comfort. She was terrible for not going to him, she knew that she should have. Hearing it from her father over the phone was bad enough, and to only imagine how Darren took the news.... Skye really hoped that he would be okay...

"Grew up," Skye scoffed, "more like imprisoned. The mansion is my home, yes, but my dad...Wolverine, he's kept me tied down to this one spot. Training me my whole life to go on the field. Yet the closest I've come to going on a mission is finding the little soccer ball to the foosball table in one of the common rooms," she rolled her eyes. Looking over to see where her feet subconsciously brought her and Dez to the headstone of Cyclops. Still saddened by the older males death, she glanced down at the rose she still carried and placed it down on the ground. "Scott Summers," she said pointing to the grave. "Cyclops, one of the few people I truly ever trusted, and a great man. He was like a father when my dad wasn't around. No matter how much the two hated one another," she said with a small chuckle.

Even as they walked and she continued talking, Dez could tell something was bothering her. However, he didn't ask because he'd already pushed her buttons today. Suddenly, he realized that today she had been in that training room mourning by herself. Growing up in the mansion sounded...awfully lonely. Listening to her talk, Dez stopped as they came across the headstone. There was a brief moment of silence as Skye placed down the rose and began telling him about who the headstone belong to.

"Well, if you trusted him, he must've been a good man" Dez said his voice trailing off as his mind began to wonder. Wolverine was her father. He wasn't sure how he could explain it to her, but he had met him a long time ago. "Summers. That reminds me of you. You're like the summer rains I use to love in Florida" Dez said once again muttering to himself. His mind snapped back to focus as he came to a sudden realization.

"Hold on" Dez said fidgeting with the shark tooth necklace he wore around his neck. "If you've lived here your whole life sheltered then that means....no....it can't be..." he said disbelief clear in his voice. "Don't tell me...you've never gone to the beach"

Skye didn't say anything, just gave a look that said it all. She trained her whole life starting from when she was three. Her father never gave her the luxury of a partially normal life. It was good grades and a good punch. Growing up on that routine, she never really bothered with such things. If she wanted to go outside then she could easily go out to the garden and read a book or play with the elements a little bit. But a beach, that was something she didn't do.

It seemed almost harsh to keep her locked up in the mansion, but she knew full well that her dad was just trying to keep her safe. She never really thought of a life without taking risks, she knew that Logan wouldn't want her being hurt. Skye glanced up at Desmond and smiled sheepishly, but the shark tooth had caught her eye, "I like your necklace," she said, before realizing she was slightly off topic, "I've never had the need to go to a beach, so no I've never been."

Dez blinked for a couple of seconds still in complete disbelief. However, it made sense to him. With a father like hers, he could imagine what her life had been like and it made him sad. Dez never had a white picket fence kind of life, but he had always had freedom and that was what kept him going. Looking down at his tooth he smiled thinking back to the day he got it.

"I'd give it to you, but there's no need because soon enough you'll get your own" he said and continued on to explain. "Hop on my back and I'll give you a ride. We're going to the beach, Skylar, even if that means your dad will fillet me later for it" Dez told her determined to give her a piece of freedom after so many years of being contained. "You've been spending your life around everything extraordinary, so its time that you saw the extraordinary in the ordinary...does that make sense?" he asked himself before focusing on the task at hand again.

"So get on my back and we'll be on our way" Dez said.

"Excuse me?" She asked once he told her to get on his back. Her brows were raised and she was clearly questioning him. Yes he seemed as harmless as a fly, but really, anyone could come off that way and then stab you in the back -quite literally. "You're asking for a death wish and I'm asking for two months spent in my room," she said. Skye was out of her mind at the moment, maybe that's all she needed though, in times of sadness, for a little crazy out of her mind kind of stuff. She placed her hands on his shoulders and hopped onto his back, she was very light for a girl with so much muscle mass on her. She wove he arms around his neck, but not too tightly of course. "I'm going to die aren't i?" She asked, her bruised knuckles becoming slightly sore from clenching her hands into the others shirt.

She was starting to have second thoughts about this. But then she thought F it, she was nineteen and still has not left the mansion grounds or explored anything. Skye deserved this, to go out and have a little freedom, rather than being pent up all day at the mansion. "Now you better do something before I change my mind," Skye warned looking ahead, wondering what exactly Desmond had in mind.

Dez didn't realize how strange his request had sounded strange until she gave him a look, but even then she agreed and got on his back. Skye was incredibly light, more then he had expected considering the muscle on her. He pondered for a moment what beach he should go, and the perfect one popped into his head. Looking up at Skye over his shoulder, Dez said, "Nah, he'll never know, and you're not going to die as long as you hold on" he explained to her.

"Now, before we go, some simple rules. Keep your hands, feet, and fireballs inside the vehicle at all times. Don't open your mouth when we're moving, that's not a rule but I figured you'd appreciate if you didn't end up eating bugs. Don't let go until I've stopped and last but not least don't peek so keep your eyes closed!" Dez instructed to her.

"By the way, I've never actually ran with someone else so this could go horribly wrong" he added before running off. A grin plagued Dez's face as he ran the strong wind on his face and adrenaline pumping through his veins. No matter how many times he ran, it was always exhilarating for him. They ran for half an hour or so, but it must've felt like much more to Skye. Finally, they arrived at the spot Dez had wanted.

"Welcome to Hawaii" he told her when they came to a full stop. They were in the beach, beautiful sand covered the ground and the sun shined brightly against the crystal clear sea. As he let Skye down, Dez grabbed her hand and placed a shark tooth necklace, similar to his own, on her hand.

"So what did you think of the ride? It's kind of like a rollercoaster, which we'll get to seeing another day" he told her his eyes on the sea before him and he took a seat and took off his shoes.

"Wait, what?" Was all Skye could say before they were taking off, she clutched on tightly doing as instructed, keeping her head tucked down on the back of his neck. And when they stopped she was thankful. However, Skye stood in the warm sand with here eyes wide staring at Dez. Hawaii, he just said Hawaii. What the actual fuck. She barley even realize the necklace placed in her hand, due to the fact that they were thousands of miles from the mansion. Oh god, what if her dad got back and noticed she was missing? Or worse, Darren. Check being way too over protective brother to Skye off his bucket list if he found out. And he probably would. Damn pack mentality.

Skye watched him sit down so calmly, she normally would act normal and look at how beautiful the view was but holy shit. Hawaii. "What the hell," she finally spoke up, her feet stomping in the sand and she stood in front of him, "you mean to tell me you took me all the way across the country?" She asked brows raised. "The whole damn country?!" She added her voice louder, much louder, and angrier this time, "Not to mention half of the Pacific Ocean, what the hell is your problem?!" She shouted, kicking sand in his general direction out of anger. Skye took a deep breath trying to contain her anger. She was going to be in trouble if and when anyone found out. Skye stalked away from Dez, looking around, too mad to see how nice it actually was to be outside the mansion gates. "Take me home, now," Skylar said, voice stern as she turned her body towards Desmond.

Letting out a sigh, Dez couldn't hold it in any longer and he bursted out laughing. He layed down in the sand as the laughter spilled out trying to block the sand she kicked his way. He clutched his stomach, it was starting to get sore from the laughter. Her reaction had been even better then he had expected. A smile still spread in his face, Dez finally regained his composure and was able to speak chuckling a bit between every few words.

"Relax, we're not in Hawaii" he admitted laughing a bit for a couple of seconds. "I ran around the mansion for like twenty minutes. We're just off the coast of Florida on a private beach, I can get back to the mansion in five minutes. I knew you'd freak out so I figured we'd start small." he finally explained controlling his laughter.

Dez staring up at the sky as he played on the sand soaking up the sun. He really loved the beach and the sun, they just felt very comforting to him. He looked up at Skye to see that even so she was still angry.

"Oh, come on, relax and just take a seat. We'll be back in no time" Dez told her. "Don't worry"

Skye looked at him incredulously, "Small? You call this small?" She asked, "I haven't stepped foot outside the mansion and now you're taking me half way across the country. In no way is this 'small'," she said huffing out a sigh, but she was less angry now, that had to count for something. Looking away from Dez, she finally took in her surroundings and smiled. Skye sat down and focused on a small pool of water, she raised her hand up and the water followed her actions, she caused it to come back and splash Dez in the face, a small giggle escaping her lips, "that's for freaking me out," she said tryin to give him an angry look but it had failed. Skye knew very well that she should stay alert, she only met this guy and he could be some kind of killer trying to weave his way into the mansion.

Skye stayed quiet for a few minutes, just taking in the fresh air of freedom before she looked back over to Dez, "So tell me a little bit about you; what's your story, where did you come from, mutation, all of it, I want to get to know you," she said with a smile before looking back at the small waves lapping up onto the shore then rolling off the wet sand, back into the ocean.

Wiping off the water off his faced, Dez took his beanie off and threw it at Skye chuckling as he did so. He sat in silence for a bit, it had been a while since he'd been to the beach and it was nice to reminisce of the times he'd spent in tropical areas. Burying his feet in the warm sand, Dez ruffled his air as he tried to find the best way to answer her questions.

"Me? You wanna know about me? Well, that's a bit of a long story, but I'll give it my best to only cover the good stuff" Dez said biting his lip lightly like he usually did when deep in thought. "I was born in Manhattan, New York, but home to me has always been Japan. I was an orphan, which is super cliche of my birth parents to pick New York, but they wouldn't have been my parents if they weren't cliche like me" he began as his mind searched for the best explanation of his life.

"I lived in an orphan orphanage in New York until I ran away when I was seven, also very cliche, but I was just a kid. Anyways, I ran away and lived all over the world. I mostly lived in Europe and Asia, but I was in South America for three years when I first ran away" Dez continued on, trying to summarize his life and avoid major points. "I was born with my mutation, but I only started with super fast brain processing, which is why I was able to learn so many languages over the years. A couple of months ago, my mutation grew. I got to be pretty quick in my feet and started to rob the rich and give to those in need. If you had seen what I have, you'd understand why I did it. Anyways, the school found me and here I am" Dez finished with

"Be thankful you've got to see the world, Dez. Because when you're fighting against it, you don't want to be distracted by all the sights you've never seen before," Skye said with his beanie balled up in her hands. "And the only real beauty you get to see is life, and once that life is gone, well - you're left with your boring world again," she looked down at her hands, brows furrowing together as she tried to hide the pain. After Darren left all those years ago, she felt lost in an unextraordinary world, and instead of showing that emotion, she hid it; she beat herself up at night by working herself too hard until she couldn't feel the pain, because pain was an emotion. Emotion was weakness, and when you let that slip up just once; well...you're screwed. He was just the first in line to leave her life and she was lucky he came back, even if he came back a different man; he was alive, that was all that mattered. Then their was Jean, she never knew her very well but she was always so nice, and would always keep her safe. After Jean was Scott, that one took the biggest toll on her emotions; her and Scott being very close to one another made it difficult to cope, of course there was also Professor X, however, he came back in the end. Now, now it was Rouge, they (whoever 'they' were) were getting good, and they defiantly sent the X-Force a message with her death. The unkillable girl; dead. May as well just mark them all dead as well.

"That...that would be helpful," Dareen nodded, a bit more of his emotion showing as the others dispersed. Knowing Logan, he'd already have known about it and was probably be at the mansion by the next morning if not earlier. He sunk down next to Evan and put his head in his hands, exhausted already.

"This isn't normal Ev. Something bigger has to be going on here. You don't just waltz up and murder one of the X men, especially not one as well known or as powerful as her without a reason, " he sighed, shaking his head.

If Evan didn't find anything on cerebro, Darren could probably catch a trail at the murder site, maybe getting them started on the right path. The problem was that he wasn't the best hunter he knew...and the mission was important enough that there would be no room for mistakes.

"I could ask..."

He started, realizing that the other man knew exactly what the Feral was thinking and probably not be pleased with the person he was considering asking for assistance. Not that he was very happy about it himself, but the mission...Anna...came first.

"He's tracked Logan around this world for nearly two centuries Evan. And we all know how elusive Logan can be," he put in weakly, knowing this did nothing to lessen the dangerous aspects of the suggestion.

Dez turned towards her as she talked taking every word she said. He completely understood what she meant, it was a lesson he had learned when he was very young. There is beauty this world, and it will eventually be ripped from you. It hurt Dez to see her sorrow which was strange, sure he had always been sympathetic, but never like this.

"When you're around the right people, no matter what happens there will always be beauty even in the most boring, ordinary things" he told her as he stood and stretched his hand towards her to help her stand. "I wanna show you something on this island. Something...special to me. Come on, I'll explain while we're there" he said.

"That is completely out of the question." Evan said in a clipped manner. This was a tragic time bbut there was no need to go to such areas of desperation. "You forget, we are the X Men. You have your X Force. You don't need a barbaric lunatic at your back--where he could easily claw you to bits." The red-head stood up and wiped his face with the backs of his hands. "I'll let everyone know to suit up. We'll find who did this Darren." Evan attempted to smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. In all actuality, he had doubts. There were no leads; it was done at random. He'd have to rip many minds apart to find a piece of information to Anna's murderer.

'Anna...'

Evan sent out a text message to all the X Force and X Men members on campus. He would have just used telepathy, but Darren insisted it was sorta rude. Plus, he wasn't too sure he could completely control himself ib this state. Meet near the blackbird for further briefing he ended, pressing send a little too hard.

Skylar put Desmonds hat back in his hand as she stood up on her own, stretching out her legs as she did. She felt a buzz coming from her back pocket and pulled out her phone; Evan. She sighed, she couldn't handle whatever the telepath had to say at the moment and if he tried pin pointing her she would have her static shields up so he couldn't find her. If he did and told Darren that she left without telling him, he would be mad. Without reading the text Evan had sent, she placed her phone back into her pocket and looked up to Dez with an almost forced smile, "You wanted to show me something?" she asked.

She wanted to rid her mind of the mansion at the moment, and if he asked what the message was, she would just brush it off saying that it was just her dad asking how she was doing or something along those lines. She stuck her hands in her pockets, and walked next to Dex, letting him lead the way to wherever it was that he was taking her; oh please don't kill me, she thought silently to herself. Still unaware that whether Desmond could be a psychopath or not. But right now he was teetering over onto the sane side.

Dez threw the hat back to Skye, "Keep it, it'll look better on you" he told her. He immediately noticed how she ignored the message, but didn't push the subject because if she didn't want him to know then that was her business. As he walked through the tropical jungle, Dez didn't realize how unnevering it must've been for Skye to be randomly following he just had met.

After walking for some time, he found the entrance to the dark cave he had been looking for. Without thinking about how suspicious it was, Dez immediately walked inside and began making his way through and into the cave. They reached a large space in the cave where there was a pool of water that reached the ocean. The only light in the room was a small hole at the top of the cave that was leaking sunlight. Dez grabbed a rock from the ground and there it into the pool of water. Then the water glowed blue for several moments before returning to normal. Taking off his shoes once more, Dez dipped his feet into the water and moved them underwater causing the water to glow bright blue as he moved.

"I had a friend a long time ago who loved this algae that when it was disturbed it'd glow. She was the complete opposite of you, but would've loved you. She was always smiling and laughing. Anyways, I ran away with her from the orphanage. Her name was Amy and she was sixteen at the time so she was like my big sister. Anyways, she had a list of stuff she had always wanted to do and see so that's how I found this island" Dez explained as he looked into the water a small, sad smile on his face.

Skye was suspicious, that much was clear. Walking through the jungle was making her a little uneasy, the whole cave; well that made her even more so. She clutched the beanie in her hands before following Dez into the cave knowing that if she had to she could very well protect herself from him. Now maybe following him wouldn't be the best idea, but so far it's turned out pretty okay, she wasn't dead, and he still seemed quite harmless. Maybe this was going somewhere good for a change in her life. Skye looked at the opening I. The cave with awe in her eyes as she saw the glow in the water, she sat down next to the water and gingerly let her fingers run through the water, "it's beautiful," she said. "I mean the physics behind this is amazing, but to see it..it's beautiful."

That's when Skye decided to play a little. She took her hand out of the water and started simple by creating little glowing waves in the pool of water. Skye smiled at them approvingly, spinning her hand around, the water bending to her will and starting a whirlpool. Now that Skye had a feel for the water, she thought she may as well have a little fun, raising her free hand she created a wave within the whirlpool and splashed the water up against the surface that Desmond was on, getting him drenched in the glowing water, and laughing while she did.

Dez's sad smile was replaced with a happy, playful one as he s soaked in water by Skye. "Oh, you're gonna get it now" he told her and grabbed on to her with a bear hug. He then launched both of them into the water, however, he made sure that both of their valuables were safetly away from the water before they were submerged. Laughing under the water, Desmond gave Skylar a smile as the were under the glowing water. He was very glad to see her this way. It was important for people to laugh once in a while, so seeing Sky finally embrace her playful side and do so made him happy. Maybe that sounded stupid or strange, but to him it made perfect sense.

As he swam in the glowing water, Dez was brought back to past times. It was always very nostalgic for him when he was around water, especially the beach. He had a lot of memories, especially with Amy, of the water. Some of those memories were good, and some not so much. Shaking off the sadder thoughts, Dez focused on the moment at hand as he saw in the glowing water, laughing as he did so.

Skye looked up at Dez before he through them both in the water, silently wondering what the heck he was doing. Laughing is she went under, she kept her eyes open to look at the water glow in front of her, suppressing any laugh that she had so she wouldn't choke on the water. It was amazing, watching the water glow around her every time there was movement. Okay, now she needed to breath, Skye resurfaced and took a large breath, treading the water to keep her head bobbing above the surface. She smiled looking around herself, it was truly beautiful here, and why her dad would want to keep her from such a beautiful world was a mystery.

Skye decided, why not have a little fun, making sure that Dez had not seen her since she entered the water. Once she knew that he didn't, she pushed herself forward, floating like a deadweight in the water, off to the side where she was out of his view. There was no glow around her as she laid in the water perfectly still, having a little air bubble so she would suffocate under the water.

As Desmond swam, a smile plagued his face, that is until he saw Skylar. "No no no no. Not again, dear god, no" was all that ran through his mind as the smile on his face melted away and the blood on his face drained away. With all his strength, Dez began swimming to her using all of his will to try reaching her. While he did this, his mind flashed back to another time.

Thirteen Years Ago

"Amy, I'm home!" a small, ten year old Dez said as he entered his current living space. "Amy? Where are you hiding?" he said giggling at this new found game. He walked throughout the house searching for her as he was determined to win the game. Dez opened the door to her room to find it empty, but he wasn't about to lose because he didn't check thoroughly. He looked under the bed and found nothing once again. "Alright fine, I give up, where are y-" the boy began to say giggling as he did so, but his words would be cut short by the sight he found in the closet. Blood dripped down and landed on his check, a white, stained letter falling down to the ground slowly as Dez saw the sight in front of him before letting out a blood curling scream.

Present

Desmond finally made it to Skylar, he grabbed her and swam to edge of the pool of water. Lifting her onto the land, Dez came after as he pulled himself out. He fell to his knees next to her hands holding her face although they were shaking quite a lot. Enough to be easily noticeable, anyway. Dez put his ear on Skylar's chest listening for a heartbeat. 'Come on, Skye, please be okay" he muttered his words getting caught in his throat as he spoke. Relieved to hear a heartbeat, he next checked her breathing which seemed fine and steady. "Oh, thank god" he said letting out a choked gasp as he layed next to her in relief his hands still shaking.

Skylar knew things went wrong the moment she heard him talk, she peeke her eyes open and looked down at him laying next to her. "Dez?" She asked sitting herself up, seeing how scared that he had become, and immediately regret her idea. Skye took him by the arms and pulled him up into a slightly awkward side hug, "Jeezus I wanted you to panic a little but I never meant to scare you this much," she said squeezing her arms a little around him. Now it was time for the guilt; she felt it in the pit of her stomach and she didn't want to let go of him, at least not until he knew and understood how bad she felt for scaring him the way she did.

Note to self: Don't pretend to be dead around Desmond.

Desmond shut his eyes and took a deep breath clenching his fists to keep them from shaking. Flashbacks of all kinds were coming back to him. Once he controlled his breathing, Dez opened his eyes a sad smile on his face as he let Skylar hug him. "It's alright, I'm fine, don't worry about it. It wasn't your fault" he told her with the same sad smile as before as they continued to awkwardly hug. "So, tell me, what was the message you got a while ago?" Dez asked, trying to change the subject.

He was embarrassed about freaking out and just wanted to move on from it quickly. It wasn't something thathappened to him very often Dez was always calm and collected so when that was taken from his he felt vulnerable, by not in a good way like when you love someone.

Now the hug was becoming too long, and maybe a little too awkward, so she let go, rubbing her hands over her soaking wet sweat pants, not doing them any good to dry them off. She simply shrugged at the question, she didn't open it, or read it, all she knew was that it was from Evan. "Not sure," she said looking over at him, "Evan just texted, but I don't want to deal with the baggage right now so I didn't look," she said, and it was the truth; there was no way that Skye wanted to deal with any of what was happening at the mansion.

Even though the text was important, Skye didn't know that. And if Evan truly wanted her, well then he could either call or spam her with messages; both of which he has not done. So therefore, she deemed it unimportant and there was no use in reading it until later, when she was back home and had the time. Right now she was enjoying the little slice of freedom she had; even though she knew Darren would find out and that would just end in a world of trouble.

The awkward hug finally ending, Dez awkwardly coughed glad to hear Skye answering his question instead of avoiding it. He didn't think he should ignore the text, there could be trouble, but it wasn't his place to say so he remained quiet. Although he disagreed that Skylar should ignore it, he thought it was a good thing that she had. You see, in Desmond's mind, it was a sign that she was starting to accept and embrace the freedom instead of pushing it away. Later on, he knew that eventually he'd pay for suddenly carrying her out of the mansion. However, he wasn't the slightest bit sorry, Skylar had been a prisoner to that place for far too long. Dez had no choice but to free her, at least for a bit before going back.

Laying down on his side on the edge of the pool, he watched the water sit still seemingly normal. He then stuck his finger in the water and moved it through the water writing out random letters with the glow that came when the water was disturbed. No matter how many times he came to this island, he never got over its beauty. To put it into the simplest form, it was an incredible sight.

"What's your happiest memory?" Desmond suddenly asked Skylar as he continued to play with the water.

Skylar sat cross legged at the edge of the water, embracing the silence not thinking of worrying about anything, just enjoying the moment -even though it kind of was ruined a few moments ago when she was playing dead. She looked at the adjacent cave wall, bitting at her thumb nail, glancing to the side slightly when Desmond spoke up again. It was a random question, yes, but it voided the silence, and she liked that.

Okay so maybe many of her memories were repetitive, but there were a few that stood out, she didn't necessarily have a 'happiest' memory, seeing as she didn't have much other than the mansion. And not much ever happened in the mansion, unless you were one to actually go on the field and have a mission. Unfortunately, that wasn't Skye.

"I don't know," she said staring ahead a the cave wall still bitting at her nail, "Probably the time I set my dad on fire," she laughed around her nail stealing another glance over at Desmond.
