Fandom X-Men: Legacy

"Come on then!" Aaron yelled, clapping his hands together. He grinned and took up a stance, waving one hand at her. "Lets see if you can hit 'blind spot' eh? Bet you can't land one until somebody else shows up to help." Aaron added, trying to goad her on. The more of her attention he could get, the easier this would be. All he had to do was make her slip up, just one errant thought, and he'd be raining down blows without mercy.

She couldn't help but grin and backed up a bit more. She knew the only way to beat him was to outsmart him without thinking. "It's not nice to listen to other people's conversations. I mean you don't see me listening in on your conversations. Tempting? Yes, but I can control myself," she stated before jumping off the side of the building.

Evan blocked the punch and kicked the new girl away, lacing the connection with TK. Watching her reaction, he began getting bored pretty quickly. In mid-air, he thrust his hands downward. He only meant to make a tremor, but the simulation registered the powerful impact to be quite destructive. A shockwave leveled most of the buildings and sent the fabricated area flying in bits and pieces.

The roof rumbled beneath Aaron's feet, and he could hear the support beams of the simulated warehouse giving away. Cool it Red! This is a practice run, not the real thing. Keep your s*** together or I am cutting this whole thing off, understood? He projected the thought at Evan, intending to telepathically pummel him until the message was received clearly.

Realizing the roof was no longer a viable option, Aaron carefully made his way across it and grabbed the hostage by the arm. Considering she was merely a hologram, Aaron didn't bother to be gentle about it as he dragged her toward the back end of the building. There was a circular staircase in back, leading down to the ground level and the street beside it. Taking the objective with him, he stumbled his way down the stairs and unceremoniously threw the hostage into a dumpster before turning around to defend himself, in case Nicolette returned.

Kyra was sent flying with the rest of the simulation. She felt something break in her simulation body. She got up slowly, then charged toward Evan with a slight limp in her run. She threw a fireball at him as she ran.

Nicolette grabbed onto a nearby rail on the building, only to feel it starting to break. She jumped down and landed silently on her feet refusing to think. She knew she had to stay concentrated no matter what. She heard something being thrown in the dumpster and changed into a hawk. She flew up to a now steady building and changed back as she watched Aaron silently.

After regrouping, she changed back and silently glided to a building behind him. Changing into a grey wolf, she pounced on him from behind knocking him down hard. Turning back into a human, she grinned, "Oh, Aaron. So cute yet so cocky." She kept having to resist the urge to think as she decided to let him get up.

Aaron grunted as he was slammed down into the pavement, barely managing to protect his head from the brunt of the force. Even so, he was a bit fuzzy, although he certainly was not down for the count. As soon as the pressure was off his back, he rolled onto his back and clenched the muscles in his core tightly, then swung his legs up. His hands planted firmly on the ground beneath him, and he pushed up hard.

His legs swung wide before pulling back together, wrapping around Nicolette's waist. Using his hands and the tension along his abdomen, he pushed himself a few inches off the ground and twisted hard. The rotation pulled Nico to the floor and left Aaron straddling her lower back. "Heard something about cocky." He muttered, gently pressing her head down to the ground. "Just tell me when you're ready to quit."

Nicolette laugh lightly and ignored the pain shooting through her bruised rib. "Awww so adorable. You know me better than that...or at least I would hope so. I never give up that easily. You should know that by now, sweetheart," she said smirking. "And you forgot how flexible I am."

She brought her legs up behind her and wrapped them tightly around Aaron's neck. She increased the pressure and tightened them even more, choking him. Keeping her legs there, Nicolette changed into a boa constrictor and wrapped the rest of her length tightly around his neck. She clenched her muscles every now and then to tighten her grip.

"You're throwing those haphazardly." Evan droned as he batted the ball down in mid air. "Can't you make a stream?" he asked. The girl turned out to be less impressive than he thought. He noted that for his evaluation.

"Yes, I can," Kyra said. She shot a large wave of fire shooting towards Evan. "That good enough?" Kyra asked. She hated when people doubted her abilities. She could actually do a lot with her powers.

"Not as good as Grey." Evan snickered as he launched himself into the air. He spun, mid air, landing a kick to the girl's face. "You think you can take put a big bad? You think you can handle a real mission? I'M GOING EASY ON YOU." he shouted with blows landing. "Learn. Get better. Think outside the box, or else you will die." he stated.

Aaron took a deep breath, managing to suck in a good amount of air before Nicolette got a stranglehold on him. Don't struggle, don't struggle, just relax. He reminded himself, intent on keeping a cool head. His hands slid along the body of the snake wrapped around him, as he searched for it's head.

Finally, he felt the shape change as his fingers slid along a ridge, presumably where the eyes were. He shifted a bit, then plunged one of his fingers into each eye, grinding his knuckles against the skull. Nothing personal Nico, just trying to win. He sent the thought into her mind, with an imagined picture of him sitting on top of her, his hands pinning her arms down.

"Fine then," Kyra said. She created a sword out of blue fire, then swung at Evan's neck. "That good enough for you?" She continues swinging wildly at him.

Nicolette let go and changed back into a human holding her eye. She sighed slightly frustrated. "Speaking of winning, tell Red to cool it. If he keeps on, her face is gonna be permanently broken. Not to mention it's starting to piss me off," she said, clearly aggravated. "She's new. He needs to take it easy or I'm gonna do something about it," she added still holding her eye.

Aaron took a moment to regain his breath, then sat down against the wall. "He's just.. trying." He coughed, then spat up a little blood. "S*** Nico, you did some good work there." Aaron muttered, then shook his head a little and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "He's just trying to teach her. Show her what she's capable of, make her try some new things. Like I did with you when you showed up here." Aaron finished, turning his head towards her. "Really sorry about the eye thing, by the way. I'll make up for it, somehow. Just tell me how and I'll get it done."

"I'll have to think about that but be careful what you wish for," she said sitting next to Aaron. "Chances are your neck is gonna be bruised. Just a warning," she decided to add as she caught her breath. She held her side tightly and slowed her breathing before speaking again. "I do have one question though. What is it about sitting on me that fascinates you so much? First it was when we were fighting and then the image with the thought you sent me."

"Still purely offensive." Evan sighed, backflipping out of the barage of flame swipes. He flung his hands out, a long war-hammer of telekinetic energy forming before him. "The quality of your weapons depend on your focus." he called out, swinging at her. "You also have to move in a way that balanced defense and offense."

"Yeah, I can feel it already." Aaron muttered, rubbing his neck tenderly. "Really though. I figure I owe you a bit after the eye gouging. And hey, I'd call you a friend. So if you need it, and I got it, just ask." He continued, nodding a little. He cared about everyone at the mansion, at least on a level of shared humanity.

"The fighting part was just to get you pinned on the ground. The second was meant mostly to distract you." Aaron explained, rolling his eyes at her, blank though they were. "Nothing flirty about it, Nico. Don't even need telepathy to know that I'm not your type."

Nicolette stayed silent for a few minutes, still not thinking. She took her gloves off and ran her fingers through her hair before pulling it up in a tight bun. She sighed quietly and shook her head. "Wow," she said softly then spoke up, "you really don't know me." She stood up without another word and yanked the hologram hostage out of the dumpster. "I win," she said with a bland, cold voice. She walked out and went to change clothes.

"Objective complete. All subjects may leave whenever they choose. The simulation will not end until all have left, if you wish to continue sparring."

Aaron sighed and pushed himself to his feet, then rushed out after Nicolette. He didn't care that she was in the middle of changing, and she shouldn't either, considering there wasn't anything for him to see. Even so, he kept some distance and turned the other way to make things less awkward for her. "Nico.. I have been inside the heads of everyone in this place, for the last three-ish years. It's a burden, to tell you the truth. Sometimes, I wish I could just shut it off and enjoy the peace and quiet of my own head. But I can't do that, or at least, I don't know how." Aaron started, leaning up against the wall. "The point is.. I know you. I know what you've been through. You're strong, stronger than most people would give you credit for at first glance. "But I stand by what I said. I'm not what you want, really." He finished, then sighed and walked out, headed for his room.

Nicolette sighed and finished putting her clothes on. She threw her suit in a basket and walked out, ignoring everyone. She had planned on eating afterwards, but instead, she went straight to her room. She grabbed a quick shower and sat at the desk. She stared outside for a while then got up and walked out and roamed up and down the hallways. Sighing internally she walked back down the hallway past Aaron's room and nervously stopped holding back her thoughts. Believe it or not, you are ran through her mind several times as she made her way outside quietly.

The room slowly changed back to its barren setting and Evan settled down, letting his weapon fade. He turned to the new girl, a cold look in his eyes.

"You want to be an X Man, but you aren't ready. Your form is sloppy, you can't control your powers well, and you get too mad way too easily." he said to Kyra. A frown twisted his features, out of tension. "And the sad part is, you have raw potential. But I am going to change all that. I'm going to train you so you don't die like I did."

'That's right, I died.' The voice cackled. 'The real Evan died and you replaced him.'

"Shut up!" Evan yelled out, causing a light fixture to burst over his head. The room went silent and he walked to the locker room, holding his arms to his sides. "Training starts at dawn. Don't be late." he said without turning around.

Kyra's shoulders sagged. She'd hoped she was ready. That she could be an X-Man. But she guessed not. Maybe she should've just stayed in Chicago. At least there, she was powerful. She was the top of the food chain there. But here, she was just the new girl. The one that sucked. She was probably going to leave the next day.

Stop it, Nico. I know you know I can hear you. I'm not your guy. I'm only half of what I should be and there isn't any fixing that. Aaron beamed the thought at her, a clear tone of annoyance was carried along with it. He sighed and slumped down on his bed, then pulled his legs up to his chest and sat still, thinking over the day's events.

Nicolette sighed in frustration.and shook her head slightly. Stay out of my head. And don't call me that. She turned and went back inside. Upon seeing Kyra and Dylan, she gave them each a half-hearted smile then went upstairs to her room. She closed her door and locked it, then she made her what over to the desk. After grabbing a pen and her journal, she opened it to a blank page and started scribbling down words, somehow forming them into a song.
