James looked at Ili, but he didn't laugh, in fact, he frowned a bit

"i'm 12... not 5"

the train finally got back on solid ground on the other side of the valley, James stood up again, then got back in the chair, his shaking was stoll going, but it was becoming less and less.

"The bunny still makes me laugh," Ili replied, a grin spreading across and beyond his features, looking almost ghastly.

His colours shifted again, this time to a deep forest green as he looked expectantly at James.

James looked around awkwardly, then back to Ili

"uhh...what do you need?" he asked awkwardly, seeing his colour change to deep green, seeing Ili's face, as if expecting something.

"I have no idea..." Ili replied, giggling a little bit.

Something about the altitude must be messing with him... Ili had never remembered being this... off before.

"That's odd..." he muttered to himself, suddenly confused, his body shifting a little unpredictably.

jamie continued to look at Ili, thenhe remembered something his parents told him

"my mom said slimes dont work like boys and girls, and sometimes you have the personalities of both... maybe thas it, you have been acting like a boy a lot of the time, but now you're acting like a girl a little bit"

seeing Ili's body shake like that, he poked a finger at him, making a few ripples.

"I dunno, I think some rest oughtta clear it up, after all, we've got a ways yet before we make it to the school," Ili replied calmly, the grin leaving now as she lost all form and just pooled on the floor.

"i won't" said james as Ili poured off the chair, leaving only a damp mark on the seat

"i'll go and get some water for you, i hear slimes need a lot of water to remain gooey, so ill go get some"

he got up, and stepped over Ili, opening the cabin door and going out into the hallway, luckily now it was mostly clear, as everyone else had gotten into cabins as well. he began moving towards the section with the snacks bar, it was the same one that served meals, like a middle class train carriage with a bar, kitchen and tables.

"Yeah, that's true," Ili muttered about the water comment, sliding under the seat and losing all colour.

"Thanks..."

The cart Minka had boarded ended up being one of the emptier ones, as she had made it to the end of the compartment and still found nobody. Confused, she looked at the door at each end and had decided to continue her trek towards the back of the train. The door was a bit complicated, and it took her a few tries into figuring out how to open it, as she walked out into the connection and passed over. With a little more dexterity, she opened the next car’s door and was pleased to find more people taking up this car’s cabins. Eventually she found one that looked rather inviting; there was a human looking girl, who seemed to be interested more interested in her lap then the…spider creature that was talking to her.

Minka was a little confused, and she remained by the next cabin’s doorway as the two were joined by a boy who carried cheese with him. It was then that the girl started slowly approaching, realizing how easily he had done it until she heard their conversation. They were questioning something, she hadn’t listened enough to know; the spider seemed very vehement about it, while the girl seemed in the middle and the boy at the other end.

Unlike the cabin she was currently hovering around, the one next door was rather loud and now that her attention was turned, she swore she heard giggling inside. As she quietly passed by the cabin that held the girl, spider and cheese guy, she leaned against it slightly. Her curiosity got the best of her though, as a boy exited the cabin just as she was approaching it. She jumped slightly, but he didn’t seem to notice her too much as he made his way to the snack bar.

The room went quiet behind him, and she poked her head in only to duck right back out…there was someone in there alright. She hadn’t really caught a good glance of him, but his eyes were a pure black that surprised her. Leaning against the cabin she had just looked into, she had to wonder if all human’s eyes were like that…

James went past Minka but he stopped soon after and turned around

"excuse me, are you okay? you look a bit lost" he said, a bit of concern in his voice.

At another male’s voice, Minka slowly looked up and was surprised to see green eyes staring back at her. The boy was blonde, and recognizable as the one who had left the cabin; although, he carried no snacks in his hands. Realizing that he had asked her a question, her eyes widened and she shook her head at his question.

“Uh, nowhere to sit…” she supplied, eyes meeting the floor

Although, she had no idea what she was talking about, most of the previous cabin’s she had passed were empty. Frowning, she shook her head once again and submitted defeat,

“I’ll keep looking” she noted, turning back towards the cabins she had come from.

"well, why dont you come with me i'm just going to get some water for my friend, you can sit with us if you want"

this girl sure seemed shy, he wondered why.

At his offer, Minka’s retreat stopped and she looked back, rather surprised that he would offer her a seat. Smiling slightly, she nodded and let him lead the way to the water they were to get for his friend;

“…the one with the black eyes?” she inquired, quietly.

James thought for a moment

"well, his eyes are kinda dark, but hes like, in a trance of some kind" (i assume hes like that since riddle's last post was him looking in to the past)

he tilted his head a bit

"well... wanna come along? or do you just wanna wait here?"

“Oh!” she exclaimed upon realizing she hadn’t answered,

“Yeahsure” the affirmative rushed from Minka’s mouth and she took a step towards the boy, glancing at the floor again.

James smiled, hen lead her through the train car they were in, going into the next one, luckily that one was the snack car.

inside, it was split between the kitchen/bar and the resturaunt, in the seats sat many different creatures, the Jaziida, Ogres, Orcs, Elves and of course humans.

aas they passed through, they saw many playing various games, like one human boy explaining poker to a smile, to a human-jaziida couple cuddling.

they came to the bar and the lad behind it turned around, she was bloated and ugly, but her smile was warm and genuine, her ears and facial structure pointed her to be elven.

"oh hello there little boy, what can big granny Frani do for you?"

"hello granny, i need some water for my slime friend, he's starting to dry out a bit"

"oh of course deary, can't have him drying into little jelly crystals"

while keeping an eye on them, the women began filling a jug up with tap water, she then looked to Minka

"what about you sweetie?"

The boy led Minka into the next cart, where she was surprised to see many types of creatures taking up the restaurant space. It was no wonder that the back cars were empty with this type of crowd, and she would’ve observed more carefully if she had not been following someone. As they made it to the bar, James ordered the water he was looking for clarifying it was for a slime.

Is that what his friend was?

Upon the woman turning towards her, she pursued her lips and thought for a moment, finally shaking her head.

“No thank you” she answered the woman, raising her arm slightly to signify the fact she was fine, she then turned from the bar and looked back at the blonde that was leading them.

"well, the slime is Ili, he's cool.. or she... whatever"

the chubby elf gave him the jug of water

"this should do it sweetie"

"thank you granny"

"ooh, so polite! now dont forget to bring that jug back"

"yes granny Frani"

he smiled, looking back to Minka

"okay, lets go then"

he lead her again, holding the jug of water carefully.

At his careful steps, Minka followed suit, finally getting a glance of the room around them as she continued behind him.

“..Eli…” she trailed,

Then realizing that she hadn’t introduced herself, she blushed

“I’m Minka, by the way…” she was more comfortable to be staring at his back.

"I'm James Highland"

then, he just realized what he said

"n-no relation to Marco highland... too many people think i'm related to him because of my name"

they got in to the car they were in before and made their way to their cabin

"umm, if you dont mind me asking... what exactly are you? like, are you human? or a shapeshifter or... what? sorry to sound so rude but..."

“Who’s Marco Highland?” Minka asked, confused as to why he would even say that

“…I’m an angel” she responded, “fallen though” she finished.

"Would've been human if I lived?" she clarified, quirking a brow

"And yourself?" she asks.

"huh.... well, i hope you find your family from.... before you died"

they got bck to the door and he answered her next question

"umm... i'm mostly human, but my mom says i'm about 1/3rd "Reaper" but i dont know what that means, it sounds scary"

he opened the door and poured the jug of water on to the puddle of slime on the floor, Ili soaked it up so quickly it didnt even make a splash

"there we go!" said james clearly pleased

The spider creature locked eyes with the boy before shaking itself out, "Humans and their cocky attitude and hatred towards us creatures. And your example proves me right, they chase us away because they think their better and don't want us around. Bunch of bloody narkers...."

Nellie chuckled softly, causing the spidering to look at her with a puzzled look. Looking up, she just shrugged, "It happens..."

"Oh? What does something like you, that looks perfectly human know about being attacked and hated and exiled?"

"It's the reason I look like this." Nellie said simply, before Gullivan had jumped from his bowl and gave a tiny stream of water spit at the thing, like it was taunting. Blinking a few times as a look of anger came over the spider once more, she quickly apologized before ducking out in the hall, the door closing behind her.

Breathing quickly, she looked at the fish as it tried to swim around all innocent, "Punk..." She muttered.

The water was a relieving splash of vitality as the slime woke, yawning loudly.

"So that's what it was," Ili squeaked, his voice slowly returning to a normal middle ground.

Features returning to the puddle of goo as it stood back into a full humanoid shape again.

"And who's this?" he asked energetically, a grin spreading across his quivering purple features as he reached forth a hand that looked much more like a mitten of grape jelly.
