He frowned over at her and shook his head. “Hey…. Has… didn’t his ex contact you? No one’s heard from him in a couple months… he’s not here.” He told her. “What are you doing in town though?”

He nodded. “Good. She’s good for you.” He told him, getting out and heading inside with him, walking through until he saw who it was they were keeping captive and froze. “Ed what the fuck?”

Max felt her blood run cold when she heard that and shook her head "No she hasn't contacted me. I moved back today, has anyone talked to the police?" She asked worriedly looking at him more seeing just how tired and stressed he looked. She knew he hadn't done anything about her brother. Carmen Berzatto was her first crush and childhood friend, but he was always so awkward and worried about everything else that she gave up on ever trying to be with him.

Richie went wide eyed when he saw Aaron walk through with Eddie and felt some kind of relief wash over him "Aaron! Aaron tell him to let me go man. I don't know shit." He said truthfully as he walked over to the cell door. He was thin, much thinner than normal and his eyes sunken in.

Eddie looked him over and raised an eyebrow "What? Do we have a problem?" He asked before glaring at Richie "Bullshit, you know who set the goddamn deal and I'm loosing my patience!" He yelled at him before pulling his gun and pressing to Richie's head between the bars.

Aaron shook his head. “What the fuck happened?” He muttered, stepping to the side with Eddie. “You could have warned me yknow.” He pointed out.

He shook his head. “It’s Richie…. Who knows where he went. I know you believe in him max and I get it but you haven’t been around him much the past few years. He’s lost his shit. He’s a liability and I’m sure he’s just pissed off the wrong person.” He muttered.

Eddie gave a shrug "Didn't think it mattered really." He muttered as he continued to watch Richie

Richie shook his head a bit and took a deep breath "I told you, got a call from a guy asking if I wanted to make some damn good money. Never met the guy and I don't know who the other two were. They picked me up and we went in. I already gave what they looked like to your other guy!" He explained before looking at Aaron with pleading eyes "I don't know anything else!"

Max frowned deeply and shook her head some "No...he wouldn't just leave." She said quietly before taking out her phone and going to call Annie as she walked out. She spoke with her ex-sister in law for a few minutes before panic really started to set in after she was told the same thing from her.

Aaron shook his head frowning. “Richie you’re not that fucking stupid. Who were they?!” He snapped at him, pissed off richie would get himself into that position when he had kids to think about. “So you thought you would steal from Eddie? And I know you know what you were doing cause I know you spoke to max last time we were in town.”

Carmen sighed heavily as she heard the doorbell go, muttering under her breath the whole way to answering it, ready to chew out eddies guys before seeing it was max on the other side. “What do you want?” She muttered, a little annoyed.

Richie took a deep breath and sighed heavily "Listen I thought we were casing the place, I didn't know about taking your girl I swear. Guy was from the Irish I know that, thought I heard one of them say Declan, not sure if that was the guy's name or not." He explained before taking a deep breath "I swear it on my sister Aaron I don't know shit else!"

Max looked at Carmen noting the annoyance on her face immediately "Hi...I'm sorry to bother you. I was just wondering if Aaron was here or not. I know better than to call him right now but I really need to see him." She explained unable to hide the panic in her voice.

She frowned and let her in. “He’s not here. But they’ll be back in about an hour or so. Ed’s got a meeting here so you can wait here if you like.” She told her, “I can text Ed and let him know to tell Aaron.” She told her. She knew Ed wanted her to play nice with the girl so she would as much as she could.

He frowned and looked over at Eddie. “Give me a couple hours with him tomorrow.” He told him. “Give me time to prepare then I can get what you want.” He told him. “And you know that if I can’t then it’s not there.” He muttered.

Max nodded some "I texted Aaron but got no response. You don't have to bother Ed." She said before running a hand through her hair as she stepped inside. "Thank you, for letting me stay. I uh, I won't cause you any bother." She said as she waited to be directed where she needed to sit.

Eddie put his gun back and frowned deeply at Aaron "Your last fucking chance Jerimovich....after tomorrow you're dead." He said seriously before taking Aaron to the office space they had in there so he could talk with the guys watching Richie while he was away.

Aaron was quiet for a while until they were heading back to the house and he turned to look at Eddie. “Carmen is fine. Nothing really happened. But you’re willing to kill him over this? Of all the fucking people you could push to be making an example out of youre using fucking Richie?!” He questioned him.

She nodded and sighed a little. “Alright. I got some work to do so I won’t be very entertaining.” She told her, nodding towards the opposite couch while she sat back down and carried on with the emails, sending Ed a message that max was at the house.

Eddie shook his head a bit and frowned "I let him go and I look weak to whoever the fuck put out that hit. They need to know I'm not to be fucked with again. So why not make it known to them and everyone else?" He explained before giving a sigh "Look, I'm sorry that it's Richie, but its his own fault and I won't take it easy just because of who he is to your wife."

Max gave a small nod and sighed softly "I won't bother you." She said quietly before pulling out her phone and looking through a few things to try and distract herself until Aaron got there.

Aaron shook his head. “Or you look better for it by showing it hasn’t even affected you. Right now it just looks like you’re paranoid” he muttered as they pulled up to his house and he got out.

Carmen glanced up when they walked through the door and nodded towards max on the other couch, closing her laptop and getting up to go get the dogs ready for their grooming appointment.

Eddie frowned more but contimplated what he said. He gave a heavy sigh and ran a hand over his face for a moment when they arrived at the house and parked "You put the fear of god into him tomorrow....make sure he never does some shit like this again...and I'll let him go." He said before getting out of the car "And I don't think I need to tell you to keep this information away from Max." He muttered before going inside.

Max rushed over to Aaron looking beyond worried as he walkes through the door. "Aaron something is wrong...Richie...he...he's gone." She explained before getting a bit choked up "They said he just left and no one has filed a missing person's report. He wouldn't just leave like that Aaron...something is wrong I know it is."

She headed back down, bumping into Eddie on the stairs and frowned. “Hey, I’m taking the boys to the groomers. You want me to pick up anything while I’m out?” She asked

Aaron sighed and shook his head. “Honey.. I…. Your brother probably up and left. The fact that you are the only one who thinks otherwise should tell you you’re wrong.” He muttered.

Eddie shook his head kissing her cheek gently "Take Gareth with you." He said softly giving her a small smile. He glanced down at Aaron and Max frowning deeply at how distraught she seemed, not because he felt bad for her, but because he was worried Aaron would fold. His one weakness had always been Max ever since they had met and it drove Eddie up a wall sometimes, but now with Carmen in his life, he was starting to understand it.

Max took a deep breath and shook her head again "I know my brother, all of you apparently don't. He wouldn't up and leave." She said seriously before grabbing her things "Are you done for the day? If not I'm going to go home."

She groaned a little and shook her head. “I don’t want to take anyone with me.” She whined a little. “What if I just sneak out then I can be alone” she told him, somewhat because she was tired of always being followed but a little just to get on his nerves.

Aaron sighed and shook his head. “Look at me. Drop it.” He told her, “do not push this do you hear me?” He muttered. “I’m done let’s go home.” He shook his head some and followed her out.

Eddie raised his eyebrows "That so? You gonna sneak out on me?" He asked in a dangerous low tone pulling her into him a little roughly while ghosting his lips over her neck "Sugar you don't want to do something like that....what if something happened?" He asked softly in her ear.

Max frowned deeply as she watched him before leaving without another word. Once they got home she went straight to their room and closed the door wanting to be alone for now.

He walked in and chucked his jacket on the counter, rolling his sleeves up and cracking open a beer, giving her a few minutes before going up and into their room, making her look at him. “Hey…. Do you trust me?” He asked her, “come on, don’t get stroppy with me… do you trust me or not?”

Carmen smirked a little. “Fine. I’ll wait for Gareth to be ready.” She muttered, sighing and going downstairs to get her shoes on, watching Eddie disappear into his study and quickly sneaking the dogs out to the garage into her car and leaving without telling him, turning her phone off so she couldn’t be tracked either, giggling to herself the whole way out.

Max sat on their bed turning from him as he tried to get her to look at him. She sighed heavily and gave in finally turning to face him "Yes of course I do." She said quietly

Eddie looked at Carmen when she came back a few hours later shaking his head some. "I told you to not go out on your own." He said seriously before telling the dogs to get to their beds. "Now I'm going to have to do something about this Sugar." He muttered before walking around her "Get upstairs." He commanded before popping her on her ass.

She smiled and stood there, staring at him “Make. Me.” She told him, turning to go to the kitchen instead before feeling him grab her and she screamed in surprise.

He nodded. “Good. Then let me do my job and… don’t question me on this…. He will be just fine. He’s probably done something stupid and run off for a bit.” He told her, staring her down a little to try and convey to her what he was hinting at. “So just trust me alright. Now what do you want for dinner?” He asked, grabbing his cigarettes and lighter so he could step outside for a quick smoke to think about what he was gonna do about tomorrow.

Eddie frowned and grabbed her arm pulling her into him "You're walking a thin line little lady." He murmured in her ear before letting his free hand roam her body a bit "Now, go up to the room."

Max raised an eyebrow but she caught on a bit when she noticed the look in his eyes "Alright.." she said quietly before kissing him gently "Can we order something? I have no energy to cook right now."

He nodded. “You know what I like from whatever we get, you pick something alright?” He murmured, pecking hee cheek and heading out for a minute for a smoke.

She blinked up at him and shook her head. “I couldn’t possibly know what you’re talking about.” She told him, still not moving until she laughed when he hauled her over his shoulder.

Max nodded and pulled out her phone to order some pizza. She went downstairs again after she finished ordering smiling some when she saw Aaron come in "So how is Eddie doing?" She asked softly

Eddie smirked some before he lifted her on his shoulder and took her upstairs. He lay next to after they were finished and panted staring up at the ceiling "Damn....that was fucking great." He murmured

He sighed a little and took his shoes back off. “Paranoid. The takeover is almost finished. Rick is officially retiring by the end of the month and I think Ed is starting to feel all eyes turning to him. But to be fair … that woman keeps him in check. She’s not letting him get away with anything. So I’m concerned in the work department but not outside of it. Makes my job easier.” He told her. “We’re gonna have dinner with them tomorrow night. Going out. Not too fancy just nice.” He smiled, pulling her in close and swaying with her a little.

She hummed quietly in agreement, waiting til he cleaned her up and she curled in closer to him, enjoying the aftercare that he’d always been so good with. “I love you…. That uh.. Aaron’s wife is an interesting one.” She told him frowning. “She came to the house like a deer in the headlights. If I didn’t know any better I’d say she was a fish out of water in this lifestyle.” She mumbled, tracing patterns on his chest.

Max smiled softly and nodded some "I'm glad he found a good one." She murmured before kissing him gently. She took his hand and led him to the lounge area getting him to sit between her legs while she started to massage his shoulders "So is Rick staying in Chicago or going off to retire in some nice remote beach location?"

Eddie cleaned her up once he caught his breath and frowned at the mention of Max. "She is good people, knows the ropes enough to know what to do and what not to do. Probably worrying about her dipshit of a brother." He muttered shaking his head a bit "Most likely found out that he is missing by now."

She frowned a little. “He’s missing? That’s a shame. No I just mean… she seems a little panicky bu- … Ed… who is hee brother?” She questioned, realising what he said and thinking about how pissed Aaron was when they got back.

He shrugged. “No idea. Don’t think Rick knows yet either. He’ll still be around just not working anymore. Don’t think the family would let him get too far.” He muttered.
