Fantasy Wolves of MercyFalls [OPEN]

Queen. Queen. @Aaliyah Veda Ridge Ridge

The alpha was not at all amused by either of their replies to his demands. Firstly, the lowly runt, or so Byrch now thought of him, was too cowardly to be accountable for his actions, and shot him a look as he cowardly ran off. Then, when he confronted his trusted Beta, she too seemed so disinterested in it all. Was it not her job to make sure the wolves of this pack remembered the authority? Byrch's gaze grew even more unfriendly, as he now padded towards the Beta. His question nearly made him scoff in disbelief. What was he going to do next? He was going to give her an earful, that's what. "What am I going to do next... hm. I'll start by talking to you about what you're doing. You just let that warrior mouth off your Alpha and prance away. What i'm going to do now is ask you to track him down, and tell him he will answer to me or face demotion. Is that much clear?" Clearly, his annoyance had turned into anger at the lack of seriousness his Beta female had shown to the situation. He might just have to demote her too if it came to it. Byrch had been sick for only a few days, and now look at where it all stood. "Now tell me, Aaliyah, is Crystal available? I believe she's in need to check on my health. Perhaps she's one that still remembers who is in charge here."

Mark Gideon
"Yeah, I got you," Mark said cautiously. He started to get up slowly, still being careful not to alarm her in anyway. "So," he started to say, unsure of what to do, "how long you been a werewolf for?"

She rolled her eyes at his question. "I was born a werewolf. Now follow me and if you try anything I'll gut you." Thankfully they weren't far from the omega cabin which is usually where Byrch is.

Mark took in this information. That meant....okay, he had been bullying a werewolf as a kid. "What about the others?" He asked, trying to remember each of their names.

Emerald
×××××××
She kept walking and walking until breaking into a straight run. She didn't stop until reaching the diner where her car was parked and by then, she was panting hard. The air didn't even feel cold. She hopped in her car and played some distracting music, singing along once her breathing evened out. Her singing was loud and passionate to vent out every waking emotion inside of her. Humiliation. Shame. Jealousy. Helplessness. Guilt. Hopelessness.

She reached the territory and parked her car, hopping out only to speed walk to her house. She looked fairly disgruntled. Unlocking it with her special polka dot key, she went inside and shakily reapplied her signature red lipstick in the mirror, staring at herself for a long time afterward. How could she face Hannah ever again? How could she even look at Adam and his forever divided mind?

Ozara
×××××
Sitting as a wolf in wait, she perked her ginger ears at the sound of Coal coming for her. She let her tongue out to pant for a moment, looking happy before howling back. He sprinted past her, and she sent laughter toward his mind. Paving her way to the waterfall, she stepped on the slimy rocks that led behind it and met him inside, sitting next to him and nuzzling at the side of his face with her cold nose. She valued him. I got some water all over the left side of my flank. I'm afraid to shift back. She chuckled in his mind again, shaking her pelt and throwing droplets his way.

Coal
Mentions: Queen. Queen.
Coal laughed through his mind at Ozara. He hid his face away when she shook her coat, before he stood himself up and walked over to her. He peacefully looked to her with a smirk, as much as a wolf could. I wouldn't care, after all it is only us here. He changed himself back as all of his clothing was wet from his un-caring route through the water. Taking off his jack and his shirt his tattoos shined as the water dropped down his body. "So why is it that I've barely seen you within a year?" His brow raised to her with an interested expression.

Hannah Davis
"That you'll have to ask them yourself. If you live long enough that is. Besides we're here." She saw Byrch talking to Aliyah. "Hey Byrch got a trespasser here wondering if he could join us." She said stepping behind him and shoving him forward like sacrificing a lamb to the lions.

Of course, already in mid-scold, the alpha's face turned towards that of Hannah, a trusted hunter. before him was a tawny male, an outsider. Byrch was now thoroughly frustrated with everyone he had come across. First, his own warrior showed him no respect as if he were a high school teacher. Then, the Beta Female thinks it's all just a joke. And now the bloody Huntress just allows outsiders to trek onto pack grounds? Alas, she had the decency to remember his authority. The alpha padded forth to this new presence, and examined him up and down. He decided to smell him to. "Bitten, not born, weren't you? Or that's my best guess. I have been battling a flu, so if my nose is impaired, let me know," the alpha said with half-joking tone, his face still reading anger on it. But it wasn't that simple just to let others in and give them a respectable rank. They had to prove themselves, prove that they weren't just nuisances and could contribute. "Hannah, thank you for being cognizant and bringing this male to Aaliyah and I. But if he wishes to stay, he needs to give us information. Who are you?"

Hannah Davis
Hannah shifted into wolf form and went to stand slightly being Byrch so if Mark were to attack she could intercept him and rip his throat out. "I'm sorry for my absence alpha. I know I've let you down. I'm here for good now so that I may atone for mistakes. Punish me as you will my alpha." She told him telepathically.

He swallowed as he mentally began to prepare himself. Great, the alpha was now speaking to him. Okay, uh.....better get this over with. "Yeah, I was bitten," he said, keeping a careful eye on Hannah. "As for my name....you've probably heard about from Adam, Hannah here, Emerald and...Benji, yeah, that guy. I'm Mark Gideon." He braced himself for whatever the alpha would do to him, ready to bolt for it.

Byrch had seen enough. "You will silence yourself at once, Hannah," the alpha demanded with a snarl. The only thing he had any question over was how she dared to not have told him sooner. Hell, this stranger seemed to know everyone. Did this lowly Huntress make it her duty to overstep the alpha and show the intruder everyone in the pack before him? "Mark, I have heard no such thing. But it appears to me you've made friends here. How long has she been showing you our lands? And also, do not mind her. You have shown no sign of being a threat to anyone here, so if she dares strike her, she may as well erect a new outhouse for the pack to use," Byrch said with sincerity. After all, it was good to be the alpha.

"Uh, we weren't exactly friends....." Mark began to say, slowly, raising up one of his hands, palm outward. "And I just got here, really. But, uh, how are the others? The ones I mentioned? Adam, Emerald and Benji?" He shot a balance at the wolf which had once been Hannah. God, that was trippy.

Hannah Davis
The question sent an icy shard straight through her heart. Small whining noises came her throat and pain filled her chest. There's no way Byrch would let her get away with being this weak. Get yourself together Hannah. The whining stopped but her head still hung low.

Byrch shot a glance of his own at the foreigner, saying nothing to the inquisitive Huntress. She had had her moment to speak on the matter, prior to her just showing him around to the other members. For all he knew, this shifter could just be a spy for one of the... OTHER packs. Nonetheless, the wolf made no movement to shake this male's hand. He couldn't, anyways. He was no dog after all. "Why do you care so much for those you have just met? You barely know us, and vice versa. Also, what gives you any sort of idea you're worthy to be one of us? You seem scrawny, naive, perhaps a bit on the useless side. Though I could be wrong. Do you have any talents, Mark?" With the inquisition of the male underway, Byrch noticed the uncomfortable look on his Huntress' face. He thought not too much of it, to be honest, but the fact that she was shooting a glare at the other male set him off. "Talents such as being able to not upset one of my Huntresses?"

She wished could tell the alpha that Mark did know us actually. He knew us since high school where he made our lives hell and drove Emmy into a deep depression because of his constant bullying. Not to mention attacking Adam and Benjamin. Adam still had a scar from that fight.

"Uh, thing is....you know they were bullied in school, right? All four of them," Mark began, rubbing the back of his head and looking to the ground. "Adam ever show you the scar I gave him?" He kept looking down. "I just got out of prison man, and first thing that happens is I get bit by some wolf, next thing I know, I am one. Heard there was a pack here, figured why not check it out, I know this place like the back of my hand. As for talents....well, I can chop wood?" He really wasn't sure how he could be useful. As long as he wasn't alone, he was happy.

This whole melodrama unfolding before him made Byrch nearly gag. High School bullying? They were so lucky, since Byrch himself was never able to finish High School. However, he did learn an awful lot on his own, through hard determination and sacrifice. But was this the type of male he wanted among his own? "You're not making a very strong case for yourself, Mark," Byrch said, "As a matter of fact, I think these people despise you. Can you even hunt? Can you even tell what's an herb and what's a poison? Do you even know the various packs of the area? The answer probably is no." The alpha took the time to turn aside from this foreign wolf and talk to Hannah. "So nice to have a High Schoo reunion. And now you seem to think that it's alright between you all? I don't even think this male knows his right paw from his left." Byrch honestly had little regard for the feelings of this newly released male. He may have had prison time, but the haughtiness that comprised Byrch's personality viewed him as soft. He still needed persuasion over his character. If it happened once, it could perhaps occur again.

Hannah Davis
"Alpha if I may, I want nothing to do with this man. I only brought him to you strictly because of protocol. He might as well have called for parley. I thought it negligent to refuse to bring him to you...." Hannah paused for a moment. "And honestly he may not have been a good person in his younger years but who are we to refuse him a home and possibly a family. Alpha, I know my actions as of late may discredit my words but think about this. You gave me a chance when I was sixteen and homeless. You let me join your pack and earn my rank. Me being a spoiled child not knowing how to do anything. Yet you taught me and treated me with respect. I think it fair to allow Mark the same treatment. You never know he could be your most loyal pack member in time. Give him the chance you gave me Byrch. If my life changed for the better his can to."

"Hey, at least give me a job of some kind, dammit," he said, "could you least give me some sort of chance? You ever been inside a jail cell? Well, you learn a few things while you're in there. I could show you what I could do, if you let me have some kind of chance," he paused a bit before finishing with, "alpha."

Conflicting messages seemed to buzz around the trio's heads like a hornet's nest having been disturbed. But a plot formed within the alpha's mind, one that perhaps would rectify the situation perfectly. Not to mention, the part about the idea of redemption hit a little too close to home, something that did not often happen. First, he just needed to monologue a little while longer. "Mark," he began, "you speak of a subject you perhaps do not fully understand. You had the luxury of your life. In prison, how adorable. My own mind is my prison, Mark. That is so much worse, having to live every day in agony. Your prison stay means nothing to me. You were even ridiculous enough to get bitten just after your release. Seems you didn't learn a damn thing in there, because you let a wolf just nip your hand like that. That's weakness, Mark."

His statements were definitely abrasive, but that is but the way he was always. being a leader commands respect, be loyal and not royal and all that jargon of his forefathers. But there were so few members now, and with WInter coming, perhaps it would be worth a shot to gamble. However, more was to be said. "And Hannah," Byrch turned back to her, "All this talk about redemption, it makes me think of you as a preacher. Oh, go down to the River and cleanse thyself. If he needs redemption for his sins, you need redemption for your hatred towards him. He will join this pack as an omega, a lowly, lowly one at that." Byrch glared at the male for dramatic effect. "In this pack, nothing is given, and everything is earned. He knows nothing of us, nothing of the ways in which we endure. Hannah, you will serve as his mentor. When the time comes that he can prove his worth, I shall perhaps consider you both worthy members."

Hannah Davis
Hannah stood there stupefied. Her wolf melted away and her human took over. The agony of his last line apparent on her face. "I have given up everything to be here. I've given up my family and my husband. You say your mind is a prison why don't you start living by your heart. Maybe then you won't hurt those closest to you. I saw you as a father figure once Byrch but now I don't even know who you are." She said this and turned to Mark. "As for you, you're lucky it was me that found you. Anyone else would have killed you on the spot." Hopefully this turned out to be a good thing. Done with what she needed to say she walked off, her arms wrapped around her. Ready for some silence. When she got far enough away the transformed and bolted into the woods, not looking back at her alpha who was sure to have her heinously punished for her outburst. She didn't really care. Even though she had great respect for her alpha she had been through too much lately to hear his harsh words. It had all just came erupting out of her. Oh well.

Simon Wakelin

Simon awoke late from his long and needed slumber from the night he had spent drinking before hand. His wretched breath still smelling rancid before brushing his teeth to wash away the odor and heading to work as the normal part of his life as a high school teacher dictated him to do so. It was just a normal day, consisting of the usual: Early morning run in the cold if it wasn't under 45 degrees, a quick shower before heading to school to teach but before morning coffee and eggs before starting class. The first three periods (Simon's never had a first period class) were of Pre-Calculus followed by Statistics which was never a he enjoyed in his pursuits in STEM yet did so to fill in for the school. A few periods and minor discussions with students he enjoyed talking to and his day passed like any other so before he knew it, he had already been bidding farewell to his colleagues before leaving campus in his Toyota Tacoma.

None of which, knew of his other life, and that's how he preferred to keep it. The thin opaque line of social normality and covertness is what kept outsiders from knowing and living two lives had become all the most common for Simon yet still nonetheless felt unnatural and disingenuous to the Englishman. Though duplicitous behavior had to be his lifestyle ever since being bitten at the age of 23 during Grad School at San Diego during his vacation trip of Washington on winter break, a place he had always wanted to visit. Not quite how the young man wanted to spend his first voyage in northern America and thus spending the of his youthful three years in frustration before finally living with being a wolf. Though that was another story for another time, and another chapter had been added to his 'interesting life' as his ex called it ever since leaving England just after high school. He had now a myriad of fellow werewolves to encompass himself around in this small town of Mercyfalls.

It was more of a social circle for Simon. People of different backgrounds and there were plenty of others hidden throughout the country, or so he had heard and believed. Simon almost thought of it as group therapy, but those who resided among the several wolf homes knew it was anything but. Y despite this, for Simon it was nonetheless the former and perhaps the only thing from keeping the "bad part" of himself from lashing out as he did during his first years as a wolf. A memory he, again, did not want to revisit and the reason he drank himself into a stupor.

The Englishman was almost just as much of as stranger as if he were some outsider to the wolves - or at least that was what he felt. In truth, he was nothing more a lone wolf as he'd been all of his life even before being bitten. Almost completely self-sufficient and enjoying a life away from petty drama. Though solitude had always had a way of creeping in the cold and bitter loneliness and soon he'd turn to his new "companions" as he called them to fill that need. Then again, being around his fellow wolves was certainly no laborious task and at times the Englishman could easily say he did in fact enjoy their company but was just not to be overburdened by their 'amity' as Simon put it. And so he was named an Omega two years ago though held no true convictions of attachment to the clan.

Mercyfalls was by itself a friendly and close town though Simon himself had no clue how many werewolves there were in the state (not to mention the world), or if there were any left in his homeland of Wales as told by his grandfather. The ancient stories of 'Celtic Warriors and later Romans fighting Werewolves and thus was the reason for Hadrian's wall' as the old chap told him near the warm fireplace the cold winters he spent in his adolescence. A notion that his mother, and shameful to admit himself in his later years, scoffed towards and yet never truly knowing of their existence first hand. Not even to this day. Perhaps they once inhabited the world and were killed off by humans at some point in the lost sands of time? Or maybe they had always been hidden in history? An interesting, hidden portion of history that made the young man wondering if he had studied history and archaeology instead. These were questions that always fascinated Simon, albeit were found unanswered. Another thing to be added to the bucket list.

Arriving to his casual home, not even two miles from the High School he worked, the Englishman took his afternoon stretch before heading back indoors. It was there he was thoroughly greeted by his three huskies Alun, Filomena, and Cynfor who had eagerly awaited his arrival as they always had everyday. Alun was a white Alaskan Malamute, Filomena and Cynfor were sibling Siberians. It was Cynfor that bore two colored eyes, one brown and the other sky blue and was also the bravest of the bunch. Being a wolf, Simon could communicate with his dogs and they could with him. Though despite this, still they weren't as sentient as he was and only capable of understanding small orders and fragments of thoughts he could communicate with them. It was almost as if he were with children who had the mindset of adults but he loved them regardless.

Simon approached his backyard which was fenced by fresh new wood to keep the dogs from running loose. His house was mostly new, in fact not even a decade old, but the fence itself had been added the moment he moved in just two years ago. It was on this fence that a door he had built on the opposite side near the corner of his backyard led to the open forest outside off of his property. It was today that he decided to spend the afternoon hunting with his dogs in the forest as he promised them they would. Simon then opened the door, luring the dogs to exit with him and upon exiting, locked and shut the door behind him before shifting to his blonde wolf appearance.

I hope you're all hungry. Simon said while the three huskies began prancing with joy as they awaited his next command. Follow. Simon ordered he as his huskies as they proceeded into the familiar forest for their next meal, the only time he ever considered himself an Alpha.

Mark Gideon
Mark swallowed as he watched and heard what the alpha had to say. His palms were sweating, and where he had thought he could stand up for himself, now, he wasn't so sure. The alpha just seemed like an asshole, really, but Mark didn't say it out loud. Instead, he just took in a deep breath before speaking. "Should I follow her, or something?" he asked.
