Speaking to: Ozara // Queen. Queen.
Continuing to walk, Coal gave an occasional glance round the surroundings they were in. His mind mainl set on what he was going to do once they reached the others but he didn't care much. He knew how most of them felt especially Adam, yet with knowledge it gives and advantage. Even so, his mind drifted from subject to subject, one that stuck out was overwhelming him, he fact that him and a strange Omega were holding hands as they walked. He wasn't sure himself why he was being so kind to her, he wasn't to anyone rarely but there was something about this girl that made his mind curious. For the good or bad he'd have to let action and consequence decide. "You'd be suprised on how much I know and remember. The word nice however doesn't particularly come into my dictionary. Take it as a.. introduction to life here." Coal wasn't sure what to say after that. He didn't wish for once to come off as rude but he didn't want to let his guard down either. Too many options ran through his head before he gave into the fact that perhaps being nice for once wouldn't be such a bad thing. "And I guess outsiders of a group should stick together, right?" He gave another smile, small but neither forced nor pressured again. Yerba it soon faded as they got closer to the others.

Byrch Brown
Interacting with: Emerald Queen. Queen.

It had been too long of a night for the alpha. He had had too much on his mind, too much to worry about concerning the success of their species and their pack. it also didn't help that he was not feeling well. Having a human side had its benefits, but it also meant that he was not immune to the flu. Needless to say, he was getting over it, and by getting over it, he meant having expelled whatever sickness was in his stomach and into the toilet. The alphas home was quiet for the most part, but for that night, nearly on an hourly schedule, it surely wasn't. Alas, the alpha perhaps warranted a few hours of sleep.

The alpha awoke rather late and unprofessionally, for what seemed like the first time in ages he had allowed himself to break conduct. Turning himself over in his fine cot, the climate controlled room reminding him that he was still in his human form, the alpha turned over to see his clock and saw that he had slept in rather late. "Fuck," he said, half-dazed, rubbing his sweaty forehead. He got up from his slumber, still bearing the leaden weight of influenza in his stomach. The sleep had done numbers on the flu, but he still felt that he was not entirely well.

The alpha went to his oak dresser, and got on his choice of clothes, something that wasn't horridly smelling. They were proper, surely showing his sophistication, but that was just what he thought. Next, Byrch went over to his phone, and checked for messages. Surprisingly, he had none. Surely he'd expected someone to have called. That's when he remembered that today was the day he was supposed to have his monthly check-up with the healer. Fuck, of all days to be sick. Disgruntled, the alpha decided to give her a call. Quickly, the alpha punched in Emerald's numbers and let the phone ring.

Boadicea Attwood

Boadicea finds herself in a nearby grocery store. It's not one of those major stores with places all around the world, but a small, regional store. She is gathering all the things that her family cannot get by themselves over the winter. It would be difficult to go to town since it would be too difficult to not be a wolf outside over the cold days, not to mention the chance of snowed in roads. The woman was looking for canned goods, frozen pizzas, winter clothes, and some other miscellaneous things. Her shopping cart was nearly filled to the top with all these things.

Once she passed checkout, she puts everything into her suburban and heads home. This will be her last trip to town for a while. Once spring comes around, her family can come back to town. They do not spend much time in town though. She and her husband work at home, and her children are too young for school still. Of course, Boadicea is worried of what happens in later years, when they start going to school. Two are three years old and one is just over a year old. It is something she thinks over during her car ride home.

Wilfrith Attwood

The family house is neither a small cabin nor a mcmansion. It has a paved driveway and a single car garage. There is a separate kitchen, dining room, and living room. He and his wife have their own room, closet, and bathroom, while the kids have two rooms (though the kids all sleep in one room at the moment), and a connecting bathroom. Right now, all the kids are in the family room. The youngest is crawling on the floor, another is playing with a stuffed giraffe, and the last one is playing with a toy truck.

Wilfrith is keeping an eye on all of them while he plans for later work. He wants to chop some wood when his wife is around to look over them. Sure, they do got a heater, but he wants firewood in case the heater breaks down or the power goes out. If it gets cold and they become wolves, there's not much they can do to raise the heat.

Reva De La Cruz
Reva greeted everyone smiling. "Nothing new in the skies, there are some campers about 50 miles away but they shouldn't come anywhere near us" She announced.

Though her eyes widen at the thought of a check up "Uhm do I have to get a check up? I feel fine" She tried, hoping that she could skip the whole thing.

As the tangy searing liquid slid down her throat, her muscles seemed to relax. Nothing like vodka and Tabasco to soothe your jagged nerves. *BuzzBuzz* She checked her phone. "You already there?" Emerald asked. She replied. "Yeah but take your time. No rush!:)"

'You'd be surprised how much I know and remember.' His words somehow sat very well with her. Her face warped into a half smile, positive vibes coming from the fellow outcast, as he self-proclaimed. She looked down, just like a submissive omega would as they approached the group. "An introduction to life here.. I've learned quite a lot already." She smirked, letting go of his hand once she realized just how warm his was. It scared her for a second. She hadn't really touched anyone ever since she was bitten by Byrch. Speaking of whom, she didn't see. Ozara reached the group and cleared her throat, immediately noticing Reva up on the roof. She caught her words just as Emerald emerged. 'Nothing in the skies.' She expressed. A release of stress just rolled off her back at the reminder that there were no threats.

Emerald escaped from her own mind by exiting her room, rushing to the front door. Just as she re-greeted everyone, her phone buzzed three times. That meant alpha. She picked up and put him up to her ear, listening to what he had to say. With a polite, "Good afternoon alpha! How are we doing today? Evading your check-up?" She questioned, smiling around at everyone as she spoke. When Ozara walked up, whose responsibility it was for her to know the name and details on, she waved gently. The same in addition to Coal. She felt another little vibration, but she'd have to check it after. It was probably from Hannah.

"I wonder what is keeping Emerald so long?" She thought to herself. She had to hold the order on her food twice. Oh well it's not like she had anything better to do. She flagged down the waitress. Vanessa sashayed over to her and stopped, Her hand on her cocked hip. "Yes?" Hannah rolled her eyes. "can you deliver a tuna sandwich on rye no crust with a tall cup of oolong to the pest control office?" Vanessa wrote that down. "That'll be ten fifty." Hannah pulled out the exact change from her purse and handed it to Vanessa. Vanessa gave her a shrewd look. "What no tip?" Hannah returned her shrewd glance. "Don't count on it." The waitress scoffed and walked off. Hannah smirked and pulled out her phone and pulled up her message thread with Adam. It's been almost four months since she talked to him. She felt so bad. Him and Benjamin were always so close.

Adam felt his cellphone ring and pulled it out.

Oh. Hannah.

He paused, unsure of how to answer at the moment. He and Benjamin had always been close, but Hannah, she was....special to him. Always had been, always would be.

And here came Coal and Ozara. The two outsiders. Great. Just great. What should be do?

"Guys, I'm going to get dressed. See ya later," he told them, before turning and setting off for the Warriors home. He texted Hannah back.

I'm okay. I'm worried about you. We haven't seen you in ages.

Emerald looked up to Adam, just as he glimpsed at his phone. She looked away, deciding it was time to space herself from him a little considering his words earlier stung a little. But she'd feel better if she was with Hannah. "I'll be back, guys." She grinned and then jogged over to the car she owned. A piece of crap made in a piece of crap autoshop. But it got her from point A to point B, and that's all that mattered. She hopped in and headed over to the diner, finding Hannah as rapidly as possible. She could give the alpha his check-up later. She had prior engagements, and she wasn't one to break promises. Sliding into the booth, she sighed and greeted Hannah with the friendliest of smiles. "Hey Hannah. Sorry I got held up. I was waiting for Byrch to get his check-up today, but he didn't show." She expressed. "I hope you can forgive me. I desperately beg of you." She laughed, sighing again with contentment. She couldn't stop thinking about Adam and what he said. She felt like an idiot for some reason, but she had to put that aside. For her sake. "Hey. I wanna do something for you tonight." Emerald grinned, glowing like a true gem. "Get your mind on fantastic things."

*buzzbuzz* It was Adam "I'm okay. I'm worried about you. We haven't seen you in ages." He was worried about her? How sweet. She replied. "I'm doing as well as could be expected. I think I'm going to finally clean out Benjamin's apartment today. The lease is almost up and I can't really afford to pay the rent anymore. I'm about to have lunch with Emerald but after would you mind stopping by and helping me? There's a few things I know he'd want you to have." She hit send. A tiny tear slid down her face.

She couldn't believe that it's almost been a year since it all happened. She would probably sell her house as well. Everything reminded her of Ben. With all her savings she was thinking about setting up a group home for the pack. So that during the year when changing was not necessary they'd have a place to crash at the end of a long day instead of having to drive or walk the whole way to their homes.

a few minutes later Emerald came in like a whirlwind sliding into the booth explaining what had held her up and that she wanted to do something for her this evening. Hannah smiled ear to ear. She held a great fondness for Emerald. They had been through a lot together after Benny passed. She basically saved her life. Even though things were still hard she owed all her progress to Emmy. She was by far the best friend she had ever had. "I'd love to. But it might have to be a littler later than you anticipated. Ben's landlord wants me to come over to clean out the apartment. He's such a cranky man. I wouldn't want to keep him waiting, lest he took all of Ben's things and threw them in a dumpster somewhere. Oh by the way I ordered you a chopped salad. Is that ok?". She said this and took a large swig of her bloody mary. Sighing as the spicy drink made it down into he stomach.

Adam quickly texted her back.

Let me get dressed. I'll be right over.

Once he was at the warriors' house, he quickly did just that, before setting off to Hannah. He was ecstatic about seeing her, and helping her clean out Benjamin's apartment....okay, that would be tough. Guy had been like a brother to him. But Hannah needed some help. No question.

Oh, she was having lunch with Emerald? Okay, that would be nice. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too distracting. Maybe he would see the Attwoods on the way there? Which reminded him, he had to text Wilfrith.

Hey. Any idea where the bear that killed Benjamin could be? I've been searching since last winter.

When Adam did arrive, he was dressed in a rugged black shirt and some modest jeans which clashed sharply. He didn't give one about appearances, especially clothes. He smiled at the two girls as he came over to the booth.

"Hey Hannah," he said warmly to her, outstretching his hand. "How you holding up?" He gave Emerald a friendly nod, and would speak with her later about the check up.

The fact that Emerald already had Hannah smiling wide made her the happiest girl alive. She looked over to her alcoholic drink, however, and wondered how many she'd had, if any more than one. She worried she may drink a lot to sheathe over the pain. She was one of the more successful wolves of the pack, but it made her distance herself from everyone. She missed her best friend, and really wanted her to move back in with the pack. She knew it was hard for her, but perhaps she could convince her tonight? After hearing her rant about the landlord, Emerald scoffed in disbelief and displeasure. "What a douche." This of course, she didn't consider a curse word. "I'm sorry Han. That's screwed up. I'll bite him in the arse before I let him throw any of his stuff away." She defended, feeling a strong resolve for her. "A chopped salad is perfect. But what you told me has me worried for you. How are you, really? I haven't seen you lately. I hope you haven't excluded yourself." Emerald questioned. She always took pride in their friendship that it was so easy for them to tell the truth.

That's when Adam showed up, making Emerald freeze. Whoa. Why did he come here? He surely had a reason. She slid over in case he wanted to sit, but either side didn't really matter. She was just happy to see him. "I was just telling her about tonight." Emerald grinned up at him.

Emerald had asked how she was really feeling. It was obvious she saw her drink. This one was actually her fourth and a slight buzz was starting to numb her body. If she really told her how she was doing could she handle it? Could she keep from spilling her heart out? Could she handle the possibility of releasing all the hurt she was feeling out in the open leaving her completely vulnerable? Maybe someday but not today. She was however very amused about her saying she would bite old McGregor in the ass. She had also thought of doing the very same thing on many many occasion. Just then Adam showed up and Emerald scooted over to accommodate him. "Adam! So glad you came. I am well, thank you." She took his hand and held it in a gentile manor. She was never really fond of shaking hands it was so impersonal. The act of holding one's hand for a short second was more personal and held more meaning. She beckoned the sassy waitress. Vanessa came over. "Are you ready for your salads?" She asked in a snide tone. "Yes and could you add whatever this gentleman wants as well."

Hannah pulled out the promised hundred dollar bill and held it out to Vanessa, which she quickly snatched up. Geeze how rude. The paper currency however seemed to perk her up a little bit and she asked Adam what he would like to order. Hannah could smell the lust all over the annoying wench. This angered her slightly.Even though Adam was quite old enough to handle himself she couldn't help but feel protective over her friend. Plus the gall she must have putting herself out there like that. What a slut.

Adam should have known Emerald would be awkward around him, but he was thankful she scooted over and let him have a seat. Once he took it, he smiled at her grin, ruffling her hair a playfully. "That's nice. I was gonna help clear out Ben's apartment," he told her. He shook Hannah's hand back, being careful to squeeze it.

And then the waitress showed up. Yeah, she was attracted to him. What should he do here? Lead her on? Of course not. Best to ignore any advances she made.

"I'll have a steak please, and salad," he said politely.

Biting into her chopped salad with a pleased expression, she began swinging her legs beneath the table and sort of rocking side to side subtly, as though she were listening to her favorite song. It was known as her happy dance, and it always happened when she ate food she was enjoying. After chewing, she nodded to Adam. "That's really sweet of you, Adam." She beamed. "I'd ask to help too, but the check-up day is.. Imminent." She shuddered wildly. She was a patient girl, but there were so many wolves who acted more like crying kids when they had to get their check-ups. Of course, she was great with kids, but still. She wanted to get through it quickly so that she could do what needed to be done. More like do what she wanted to do, really. Yet her responsibilities were responsibilities she promised to uphold, and she was firm on promises. She took out her phone and texted Hannah.
How many drinks have you had?
Then paid attention back to the table. She did this while Adam and the waitress were preoccupied. What a shrewd woman. "Adam, get her number." She teased, though not really wanting that at all. She just liked to tease him sometimes. Banter was her occasional thing. When Hannah offered Emerald to come, she gasped in excitement. "Really?? I'd love to!" She started rearranging the check-up schedule in her head. She could divide it into two days. Hannah needed help.

When Emmy decided to come she was filled with joy. "That's great! I'm so glad you said yes. Then afterwards we can make dinner and break open that bottle of champagne I've been saving." just then her phone buzzed on the table. She picked it up. The message was from Emmy. "How many drinks have you had?" Oh boy. She replied, "Uhm if you're worried that I could be under the table anytime soon, worry not I'm fine.'

"So I know this time of year is usually when we have our check ups. I was wondering if I could have mine in private."

Adam simply nodded as he ate, listening in. "Oh, you have champagne?" He asked Hannah. He could understand why she would be wanting to have a check up in private, so finding something else to talk about seemed appropriate. "Hey, this food isn't half bad!"

He could see Emerald swaying side to side next to him. God, she really was adorable. Hannah, though....looking at her, Adam felt like he had wasted years of his life, watching her for too long. Maybe he could try later?

No. It wouldn't be chivalrous of him. It was still too soon.

Hannah munched on her salad. Adam was right, it wasn't half bad. I'll definitely have to treat them to this wonderful restaurant in Paris once the winter was over. Her parents owned a townhouse in Paris so living accommodations wouldn't be a problem. "True, the dressing sublime. And yes I had the champagne imported a couple years ago. I've been saving it for something special." It was actually going to be for her and Benjamin's wedding but this was a good a time as any to open it.

"Classy." She chimed in, cheering about the champagne. That would definitely be a delight, knowing Hannah's taste. In fact, she decided to say so. "It'll no doubt be decadent, considering your taste pallet." She complimented, her voice sincere. She nodded in agreement with Adam, as well as continued her happy dance which showed her obvious opinion of the food. "Of course I can give you your check up in private. Whatever you need, hon." Emerald grinned whimsically. "Hey.." She tapped Adam's arm subtly under the table. "Maybe we can talk about.. You coming back to the pack? To live with us again?" She began carefully, trying not to tread too dangerously.

Hannah stopped chewing. This is the question she'd been avoiding for some time now. Was she ready for something like that? Was she ready to give up solitude? I suppose it was time to rejoin her family once more, she thought. After all that's what Ben would want. She looked at Emmy. "Yes I think It's time. Maybe we can all bunk at my house tonight and move all my stuff tomorrow. How does that sound?"

Adam swallowed his food when Emerald brought up the idea of Hannah rejoining. He was silent, awaiting her answer. And when she gave it, he smiled big and wide. "Thank God. It'll be great to have you back Hannah. We've all missed you so much. Things really just haven't been the same without you. I'll tell the others when we get back." He knew he could count on a few of them to help out with moving Hannah back in. But there was an undeniable warmth to his words, one he could barely conceal. He, most of all, was happy to have Hannah back.

"Yes!!" She declared, almost spilling her drink. Her voice was high pitched and completely astounded by her answer. She checked her phone subtly and saw the text from her, but she would check it later. Now was the time to celebrate. "I'm gonna get my Hannah back." Emerald squealed with delight, wanting to reach across the table and hug her tightly. She wondered if she'd also quit her job, as the pack could support her easily. They did with Emerald, who didn't work. Emerald's eyes drifted over to Adam as he spoke, and he sounded really, really happy. It made her feel a little more hopeless in a way. Like she was losing something she never had. But she was still an optimistic. One that didn't give up hope easily.
