She sighed. 'Alright. His name was Otis. He died earlier today. From what I saw earlier, he did it himself." She turned. He was a bit more difficult than most. "I left my car by his house, so I hope you don't mind walking?"

"I....Valek no, you can't leave," Orchid said, following after him. "You know I can protect myself, I'm not a child!" She didn't want him to leave, that was dangerous, "You could ask Clyde for help....wait, no, I don't think he likes you that much, but still! There are other people here who could help, it's not like it's just the two of us," She wanted to convince him to stay but he did make a good point. Her magic was powerful, but unstable since she had yet to master control of it. Clyde didn't like Valek cause he was a demon, and she was unsure of how everyone else felt about him. But that didn't matter, she didn't want Valek to leave. But..."If You really are leaving, you can't go to far, okay? Witch hunters could find you, or someone could forcefully bind you to them, and that would be bad."
Valek walked over and hugged her. " okay i will ask the old man he has the most experience when it comes to demons." He and Orchid walked out of her room and headed down to clydes and knocked on the door. Valek was nervous he knew clyde didnt like him but would he really not agree to help him protect orchid after all they were part of the same coven. If clyde said no then he had no choice but to return to the place where he first entered this world and perform a ritual opening a portal to regain his strengh even if it was half of what he had in the demonic realm it would be enough. FireMaidenDon Calzonee
Glaring at the awakening demon who had the gall to speak back to him, Clyde was becoming somewhat annoyed with the whole situation and chose not to hurl another insult at the demon that caused the trouble. Knowing that Orchid were well and Valek was on death's door for even a moment was good enough for him, and so he begun to turn away at the exact moment he felt the all too familiar push of a young woman from behind him. In this house you were bound to be bumped into by somebody on a daily basis. An odd sort of thing that seemed to only happen in the Phantomhive coven, perhaps due to a lack of respect for personal space, perhaps because the majority of the members may as well still be children. As the girl pushing past him came into view, he saw that it was in fact Abby. He thought he heard someone shouting a few moments ago, perhaps she needed something. At least, that was his initial thought before she demanded everyone leave the room. "We were just on our way out." He replied, turning around and stepping out the door. "Hellspawn," He said with a twinge of disgust. "I expect not to see such reckless endangering of your master in the future." Clyde spat, stepping out of the doorway, Willow hopping off of his shoulder for but a moment to strike a pose and give a tender smile to Orchid. "Bye! Come visit us in the study some time, you're always welcome darling!" She said spryly in some attempt to lighten the mood before flying back to Clyde. "You're much too harsh on that Valek fellow, he means well, I should think." Willow spoke into Clyde's ear. "All hellspawn are embodiments of evil and chaos. Even if it may actively suppress what it is, it can only bring misfortune and ruin.". Willow let it go at that point. There was clearly little she could do to sway that opinion. Standing a ways away from Orchids room, he awaited Bernard's approach.
"I heard your summoning bell earlier, did you get anything good?" Bernard asked, what Clyde interpreted as a certain hunger upon his face. "Naught but a mindless beast, and an aggressive one at that. I sent the thing back where it came. The bell tolls, however. I should expect to find another before the day is done, should you wish to-" He managed to get out before Ollie's cries for Bernard were heard. "We'll talk later." he said before strolling down and to the door, Clyde following with Willow still upon his shoulder. "And away I go." Willow said before vanishing. Clyde saw the woman outside as he marched past the door, giving her a side-glare as he went into the same hall he emerged from earlier. She had a strange air about her, and not the same kind of strange that Bernard's customers had. Proceeding to the study, some time passed, Clyde watching the magic circle and bell intently from his chair whilst Willow lie in his lap, resting. Willow rose suddenly. "We've visitors, dear!" She said excitedly, moments before a knock on the door. "Clearly not Bernard. He knows how to open the door." He said in a surprisingly jesting tone. Standing from his chair, he approached said door, placing a hand upon it and pouring magic in, such that it would swing open. Much to his chagrin, the person before him were the one he least desired to see. "Hellspawn. I hope you're here on business for your master. I've no intention of having a chat." he said, his spite for the demon drawing so much of his attention that he didn't even notice Orchid. "There's my little flower!" Willow glowed as she flew circles around Orchid.

After a few seconds of thought Bernard looks back to the Detective "Of course I'll come with you, just let me grab my coat."After ducking back into the manor and leaving the view of the front porch Bernard practically sprints to his laboratory grabbing a blue tinged fur coat and stuffing various vials and pouches into his pockets "This isn't right" he thought to himself "Otis would never do something like this, I've got to find out what this woman is up too." Giving himself a moment to compose himself Bernard returns to the front porch and in a somber voice "Whenever you're ready Detective."

"Trust me old man i don't like this anymore then you do the only reason im here is for orchids sake." He walked into clydes room without another word and sat down in a chair. "As much as it burns for these words to come out of my mouth i need your help old man as you saw today i couldn't even save Orchid from a silly tree not in this body anyway i need my powers back at least some of them enough to keep her safe. He handed clyde a piece of paper containing the entire ritual. "I have everything we need but the the reason i need you is it involves opening a portal to my realm. I'm worried something might slip through so i need you to make sure it stays contained untill i am finished." He assumed Cylde would shoot him down pretty quick cause it involved giving him more power. FireMaiden Don Calzonee

Abby sighed and nodded to Bernard as he acknowledged her. "You as well." She gave a small smile as she watched the older man leave. "We were just on our way out." Clyde spoke, but that didn't phase Abby. It wasn't until his "Hellspawn" comment that she shot him a glare and watched his exit. She gave a slight smile and wave to Willow and watched as the fairy flew back to Clyde. After they were gone, she stayed behind to watch Orchid and Valek, listening to them speak casually. When it came to Valek speaking about needing a certain ritual in order to protect Orchid. "How cute. A bit concerning, but cute nonetheless. She shrugged off the thought, and considered speaking up to offer her own assistance, but all experiences she had with demons weren't exactly great. She trusted Valek, surely, but those on the "other side" as she called it? There was no telling what could happen.
"I'll be by the door whenever you're ready to go, Orchid. And, good luck with Clyde. If he gives you any trouble, just call for me." She hummed as the two left the room. She took the opportunity to strip the bed of its blood-soaked sheets and replaced them with ones from one of the drawers within the room. "I'll have to handle these when I come back." She mumbled, carefully placing the bloody sheets in an empty corner of the room. It was at this moment she wished she had her notebook to write a quick note to place on top so no one would mess with the sheets until she got back. All she could do was hope no one would bother with Orchid's room, other than Orchid herself.
As Abby raced down the stairs, she bumped into Ollie, the doll-like woman seemingly minding her own business. "I am so, SO, sorry! Everything just seems so hectic today, excuse me Ollie!" Abby wasn't sure why she was so on edge at the moment, aside from the slight irritation at Clyde's distaste for Valek. Walking away from Ollie, she wandered a few feet away from the door, listening to Bernard speaking to an unknown woman. The aura that radiated from this woman struck Abby as odd, even for a normal human. Even her mention of being a police officer seemed...off. When she realized Bernard was agreeing to go with the woman, she stepped in and stopped him. "Sorry, but if he's not being investigated, why not talk where you stand? Or on the porch." Abby slightly regretted speaking out of turn, but there was something about the woman that sent chills up her spine, and her gut was telling her not to trust her. "No reason for you to walk with him."

Orchid sheepishly followed after Valek, downstairs to Clyde's room, shrinking back a little when the door flew open. Clyde was a very intense man, and Orchid could honestly learn a thing or two from him...hmm, maybe she should ask if he could teach her some of the rituals he used, it would be pretty cool. However she was still scared of the man, despite her admiration..."Oh!" Orchid let out as a quiet squeak as Williow greeted her by copying around Orchid's body. "Hello Willow, how are you?" She asked with a small giggle. She really liked Willow, in fact, Orchid liked most supernatural creatures she's met, demons included. Faye creatures were among her favorites, and it also helped that she thought Willow was adorable. When Valek walked into Clyde's room, she she stated since they weren't officially invited in, or at least, not that she noticed. "Clyde, please exices the intrusion, but we need you help. Like Valek said, he wants to restore some of his demonic powers. And since I don't want to lose him, I suggested getting your help." She seemed nervous, "I know you don't like him that much, but he's not bad, far from it actually. You of course can say no if you want to, I'll just be without my familiar for a while."
she had been listening and then WHAM! a blur came knocking into her, seeing it was abby she shook her head and chuckled "oh its alright" she quickly responded, dusting herself off and standing up she then listened

She tried not to lose her patience. This was becoming rather tedious. Laurel liked simple work, not this complicated people stuff. "I need to search his house for anything that will help me find out why his friendcommitted suicide. Any recent letters or messages. That is all I'm looking for, ma'am,"
Valek strolled right by Clyde into his study, the only thing keeping him from kicking the beast out being the pure disbelief that it felt welcome enough to barge into a private space. Rubbing his forehead, he finally noticed Orchid still outside. "Come in. And please try to keep your dog on its leash." He said, walking towards his own chair placed in front of the tapestry. "I'm feeling fantastic as always, darling Orchid." She said a moment before landing right on top of her head, playing with her hair.
Sitting with one leg crossed over the other, Clyde heard out their mad plan. Valek was weak. Among the weakest hellspawn Clyde had ever seen, which made it that much more confusing as to why Orchid wanted him as a familiar in the first place. Most that used demons as familiars did so because of the unbridled raw power they could provide, though that often led to a young and brutal death. According to Valek however, he had somehow managed to leave damn near all of his power in his home realm. Perhaps a fallback if he were slain after being summoned. It was possible that he could reform given time if he left a piece of himself behind, though to leave such an enormous part of his being behind would simply be foolish. No, it was more likely he had no intention of doing what happened. "Orchid," He replied "You know any number of otherworldly creatures lies at the tip of your fingers, any of which I could bind to your will. You need only to ask and I can provide you with an altogether new familiar, both more powerful than this one, and less dangerous than any hellspawn. You don't have to jump through hoops to make this one more powerful." Clyde protested to some extent. "Oh come now dear, you know the bond between us is much more than the power we share. Did it ever cross your mind that Valek and Orchid might have the same?" Willow snapped in retort.
With Clydes comment Valek shot up. "Listen to me old man there is nothing else in this world or anyothers that she would abandon me for and i thank her for that now help me get the power i need to protect her." Valek was furious he knew comming here was a bad idea and he still thought that he didnt trust anyone but Orchid. He took a few deep breaths he knew getting mad wouldn't help anyone. "Clyde i know we have our differences but im not doing this for my own gain im doing this so i can protect Orchid she has more power then you think and alot of people would try and abuse that. I know you won't do it for me but if your gonna do it..." Valek walked over and stood behind Orchid " Do it for her or ill do it myself and lets be honest do you really want me to open a portal to my realm by myself and let god knows what out." "The woman who had originally summoned him bound him to that body so he couldn't kill her. She was powerful, the kind of witch that hive people like us a bad name," Orchid exlpained, walking too Clyde's room, "He's weak for now, but just like any familiar, he can grow stronger with a little help." Orchid said this with some confidence, making eye contact with Clyde. She felt like maybe this was going well, until Valek had a little outburst. As he came and stood behind her, she glanced at him, "Valek, please, anger won't help," She looked back at Clyde, "However, he's right. I won't replace him. He's been with me for three years now, I saved his life, and he's the reason I'm here now."
After their morning fiasco, Hector took it upon himself to go and take a bath while Selkie made them both breakfast. The Vermilion estate was modest in size compared to the Phantomhive estate. But to them it was there home. Hector went up the stairs and asked one of the servants if they would kindly prepare a bath for him while he fetched some clean clothes. They insisted that he simply allowed them to take care of both while he made his way to the bath. Fatigue was starting to catch up with him and he had little energy to argue. He simply nodded and made his way to the bath while the servant dashed ahead of him to take care of his request. "Everyone worries about me being the lord of the estate yet I can't even fetch my own clothes? And here I thought we lived in the 21st century." He said as he trudged his way up the stairs.
Selkie locked the door to the lab behind her. She took off the lab coat and up it up on the rung just outside of the lab. It even was labeled as her lab coat on the rack. She then made her way into the kitchen, donning her apron before deciding what to make. The estate's cook was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast as she entered. He turned around to see her standing in the doorway. "Ah Selkie! I see you were able to drag the master away from the lab. It sure is reassuring having such a reliable young lady like yourself taking care of the master." The chef said. Selkie smiled and her tail began to wag with joy. She liked being praised for her hard work. It was so nice to hear. Not like when she was roaming around with her tribe. "Did you come to help prepare breakfast again? Master seems to have gained an appetite after you started cooking. Perhaps I should be taking lessons from you." He let out a hearty laugh as he turned back to prepping breakfast. Selkie simply nodded and got right to work helping him.
Hector was sitting in the bath. The warm water completely encasing his body. His fatigue slowly fading into the waters. He couldn't help but wonder about this mornings incident. What exactly was it that he created? It wasn't sentient but it was definitely magical. Would he get the same result if he used a different base formula? What if he had replaced the foxglove with wolfsbane? No he would never touch the stuff. He wouldn't risk Selkie's health just to figure out a variable in his experiments. Even if he could cure her of the poison, which was a simple feat, he didn't like the idea of her being anywhere near the stuff. He dried off and got dressed before heading to eat breakfast. Hopefully he would find a solution to his peculiar question with the help of the Phantomhives.
Selkie and the chef had just finished preparing breakfast and setting the table as Hector made his way into the dining hall. "Master! You're just in time. Breakfast is ready." She was quite pleased with her and the chef's handiwork. Today's meal was eggs benedict with tomato. "Well don't mind if I do then." Hector sat himself down and Selkie placed a plate in front of him to eat. Without delay Hector cut into the eggs benedict and took a bite. The rich hollandaise sauce mixed with the egg, english muffin, cheese and tomato was simply uplifting. It helped Hector feel more energized as he dove in for a second bite. Soon enough Selkie joined him and the chef left to prepare more meals for the rest of the estate. "Oh chef, Selkie has informed me that I will be going to the Phantomhive estate today. So please don't worry about lunch today. Can you use that time to double check supply of ingredients and go shopping if we're running low on anything? I want to be sure we're well stocked." The chef nodded in understanding before going back into the kitchen. "Of course master. I shall see it done."
Hector and Selkie finished eating and were getting ready to go out. Selkie had to triple check to make sure that the driver was ready and that Hector had enough layers. It was winter after all and it tended to get pretty bad in Salem. After their preparations were complete they entered the car and were on their way to meet their friends, the Phantomhives. "I wonder what Ollie is doing right about now?" Hector asked absentmindedly. "Knowing Lady Phantomhive, she's probably reading a book right now. " "Yes... you're probably right Selkie."

As Bernard tensely waited for the detectives response Abbey stepped out onto the front porch, not wanting anyone else to rile up this potentially dangerous visitor Bernard tried to divert her “Its quite alright Abbey the detective just wants to talk with me, I’ll only be gone for a short while.” Turning back to the detective “I don’t follow you’re line of reasoning detective, why would there be documents in our estate that could shed light on Otis’ tragic demise?” As he says this Bernard slowly puts himself between Abbey and the detective.
Ollie grew more suspicious by the moment, standing absolutely still, she silently observed, she looked almost like a doll in all honesty though she was anything but a doll, for one, she was living, and two, she was nowhere as innocent and sweet
ZeebruhXarzith "Well, seeing as you two were business partners, you might have given him something to ease depression or negative thoughts..." Now she was impatient. She was tapping her foot. She wrapped her arms around her, the wind getting to her. She passed her thumb over the spot on her bicep where she kept a hidden dagger. Oh, how she wanted to take it out and... She shook the thought from her mind. "There hasn't been any evidence or reason, its seems, as to why he did it. I thought you might have something."Her acting was much more believable.

While talking Bernard places a couple of fingers into one of his pockets putting one of them into the drawstring of a purple pouch.

Abby held back many of the comments she had of distrust, purely out of respect for Bernard. She couldn't shake the feeling that this woman was giving her, but she listened to the two speak. She knew of Otis, but never met him personally. And from what she knew, he didn't seem like the type of person who'd harm himself intentionally. Of course depression isn't always apparent. But even then, the more she thought about it, the harder it was for her to believe. As much as she hated it, she was going to have to sweet-talk her way around this."Please excuse my earlier expression of dislike, then. Before living here, I've lived in countries where the police were not to be trusted. As for you coming here without a warrant? Your intentions seemed questionable. As I listen, I can understand your intent." She wasn't completely honest in that statement, considering it was only one country where the police weren't particularly kind to her. And that was Cuba. Almost the entire police force was made up of witch-hunters, which her father did warn her about. "Maybe that's what she is? A hunter? That would make sense..." She shuddered at the thought and forced a neutral expression. She had to know more, but she knew it could potentially cause an issue to ask any more questions.
