she nodded understandingly "ah I see, potion brewing is a dangerous game, especially with a shoddy memory" she said partially to herself sipping her tea and working on the paperwork, preferring to do it by hand rather than magic.

Waving as Bernard walked off, she stood for a few seconds, wondering what to do. Before she smiled, bounding off towards the kitchen. Why not get some food? She was hungry, and she should be able to sneak something away. As she walked, she hummed quietly. She was looking forward to getting something tasty, oooo! Maybe even some hot choclate. The people working weren't going to stop her, they may even do it for her. However, she want sure how much she liked that. Anyway, the kitchen was empty so she began to look around a bit. When a through occurred. Should she get something for Valek? She paused, unsure of if she should or not. Orchid wanted to because it was the nice thing to do, but hmmm, she just kept looking around for some breakfast.

"Well it has been a pleasure speaking with you Ollie but I'm not currently in the mood to sit still. Farewell I hope to see you later." Bernard stands up from his chair and walks out of Ollies office seeking to stir up a little life in the quiet manor.

Valek walked around looking for Orchid. He picked up her sent and followed it to the kitchen he changed into his human form and walked in side.
he saw her looking through the kitchen for something to eat and he couldn't help but laugh a little to himself as he watched her try and reach the top shelf.
He walked up behind her. "You Know i don't like you wandering off without me what if something happens to you im not there." He reached up over her head and handed her down a box of cereal. "This want you wanted?" FireMaiden FireMaiden

"Oh hi Valek!" Orchid chirped, looking up at him, taking the box of cream before dipping around him to find a bowl. She didn't immdeiatly address his first statement as she fixed herself a bowl of cereal, sitting down at the the kitchen island. After taking a few bites, she finally got around to his statement. "Valek, what could possibly happen to me here? It's a safehaven for witches and warlocks and, well, you," she said, taking another bite, "Do you want some cereal too?"

demonlancer20.png
He sat down next to her and grabbed himself a bowl and poured up some cereal. He took a bite and looked at her. "I know but you also know i worry about you if anything happened to you and i wasn't there i couldn't live with myself." he quickly ate his cereal. He didn't like being so vulnerable around her but he couldn't help it they were close after all she saved his life. He put his bowl in the sink and sat back down. "So what is our plan for today?" "Aww, that's sweet of you," Orchid replied, "But I can handle myself, you know I can. So you don't need to worry so much, okay?" She said, taking another bit of her cereal. She was almost done when he finally asked what they were gonna do. "Hmm, I don't know. Maybe we could go bug Bernard? He turned his rat purple and his voice is all squeaky, it's very funny," She giggled, before pausing to think. "Or, maybe we could go walk around outside? Or even lounge around in the libaray. I don't know yet." She looked a little puzzled thinking about what to do. There's a lot of options to choose from, and Orchid always had some trouble deciding. Anyway, now that she was done with her cereal, she stood grabbing Valek's empty bowl as well, walking over to the sink and setting them down. "Anything you want to do?"

Valek thought for about what they should do then he got a fun idea. He grabbed her wrist "Come on" he said as he pulled her behind him. He rushed outside and transformed but this time he doubled in size gesturing for her to get on his back. After she climbed on he took off running through the woods and up to the top of a very large hill. As she got off he changed back. "You trust me right?" FireMaiden FireMaiden

She kinda gasped out a but in surprise as Valek pulled her out of the kitchen and nearly out the front door, watching with a small smile as he transformed. But, a dress, thigh highs, and flats wasn't the warmest of things, so she told him to wait a moment, quickly looking around for a jacket. The only one she could find was one of Bernard's, but he shouldn't mind too much. After smiling it on, buttoning it up, and putting her scarf on (which she was lucky to find near the front door) She hurried out and climbed up on Valek's back.

As Valek ran through the forest, Orchid couldn't help but smile and laugh, the snow covered trees sticking up out of a white blanket, the cold air making her cheeks flush again, it was what Orchid considered fun. Even if the ride didn't last long, as soon as she got off, she was talking in the veiw. Turning to Valek, a huge smile on her face, it was obvious she enjoyed that little ride. "Of course Valek, I trust you." What was he planning? Orchid couldn't help but wonder, as her attention went back to the surrounding veiw. "It's pretty out here. Isn't it?"

Walking through the estate Bernard contemplated what to do, looking at the time on his pocket watch then to the rat on his shoulder he said "You know buddy? There is still so much time in the day I think we should try cultivating the winter herbs again" Walking to the front door where he left his fur coat he found it missing on the rack "Huh it's gone, I hope Jason didn't take it to play with again. Looks like we'll have to take another shot at the warmth potion."

" Ya it really is." He walked over behind some bushes and pulled out a sled it was kinda warped and rusty. He could see the look on her face. "This is why i asked if you trusted me. I know its not much to look at but i was the best i could do." He put it on the ground so far away from the edge and sat down. He pulled her over and sat her down in front of him holding on to her. "You ready?" he asked smiling. FireMaiden FireMaiden

She watched as Valek walked over to some bushes, before pulling out a sled. "Oh!" She exclaimed, clapping a bit, "This is going to be fun!" She was excited, especially since there was a lot of snow, so as he was getting ready, Orchid got closer. Letting him help her get situated, not that she needed help, she sat down in front of him, getting ready to sled down the hill. "I was born ready," She giggled, "Are you?"

demonlancer20.png
"You know im always ready." He inched the forward and pushed off flying down the hill. He held onto her tight so she wouldn't fall off. When they got to the bottom he changed again and took the rope of the sled in his mouth pulling it and her back up to the top. As they got ready to go again he looked to make sure the way was clear of any rocks or trees it looked fine so he sat back down and got ready to push off again. FireMaiden FireMaiden

As they raced down the hill, Orchid was giggling the entire time. She kinda felt bad for Valek who had to deal with her ridiculously long hair, but, honestly she was having too much fun to do something about it. Him holding onto her felt a little weird, but, it was nice. It meant he cared about her. When they reached the bottom of the hill again, snow was sprinkled in her hair and on the borrowed jacket, and she when stood, Orchid had to dust herself off a bit. She watched as Valek shifted back just as she was about to ask if they were gonna go again, before she sat there watching him as he pulled her and the sled back up the hill. She had to admit, he was rather intemidating as a wolf, and some people would say the same when he was using his human form...Orchid had to wonder what his true demon form looked like. Maybe it would come up one day, but she wasn't going to pry. Anyway, she turned back facing the front of the sled again as Valek took his spot behind her once more. "This was a great idea Valek, I'm having fun."

demonlancer20.png
Valek pushed off again as they flew down the hill faster then before. They got about half way down the hill valek turned so they'd go off a ramp he noticed off to the side. As they flew off the ramp he let out a laugh when they landed his eyes went went wide as he noticed they were headed straight toward a tree. He put his feet down to try and slow down but it was no use. He grabbed Orchid and turned around so she was facing the back of the sled he held onto her. He let out a grunt as his back slammed against the tree. "Are you okay?" FireMaiden FireMaiden

Ollie sat on the front porch bundled up watching over the quiet estate, hoping things get moving soon since she was honestly quite bored until she ever so faintly could hear Orchid and Valek "ah ill leave em be" she said softly to herself as she sat back in the soft chair she was huddled in

Bernard stands at the porch of the manor only wearing his usual suit and cloak with the addition of gardening gloves and a small belt of tools. He steps out into the cold holding the newly (and correctly) completed "Hearth-Fire" potion, he puts a dab on one finger for his familiar Cheezers to lick and then imbibes the rest of the potion himself. In a matter of seconds warmth spread throughout their bodies and the winter cold no longer bothered them "Ahh" he exhaled "Feels like I'm sitting in front of a fireplace, Alright Cheezers, lets get trekking." As he left the porch he saw Ollie bundled up and sitting in a chair near Jason who was absorbed in one of his books, waving at them "Jason my boy good to see you, and Ollie glad to see you out of the office. Unfortunately I can't join you yet I've got some work to do." Giving a final wave he walks towards the tree-line near the estate, right before he breaches the trees Bernard spots Orchid and Valek cresting a hill laughing and playing with a sled "Ah the joys of youth" he then spots what Orchid is wearing "And thats where my coat has run off too. Guess its not that big of a deal it did motivate me to get this potion right." He gives a small chuckle and keeps walking. 200ft into the forest the landscape began to change, plants and trees took weird colors and odd shapes, rocks give off a color and luster unheard of for this part of the world(or any part for that matter) even though it was the middle of winter the forest was full of life, This was Bernards Garden. Continuing his trek into the woods Bernard stops in front of an oddly colored tree, its bark caked in white and blue fungi. He claps his hands together and pulls out his tools and some containers "Lets get to work" Bernard spent a good chunk of time collecting materials from the tree and the surrounding plants and rocks. As he is cultivating, Bernard hears the sound of movement nearby and with a quick glance sees a couple of small creatures watching him from afar. After closer inspection he recognized them "Pukwudgees, wonder what those little rascals are up to?". He gave them a small smile but really not much attention past that, pukwudgees are known mischief makers but Bernard's presences was a constant in these woods, it is very unlikely that they would mess with him. After filling the containers he brought with him Bernard begins to make his way back to the estate, patting the satchel he keeps the collected materials in he says "I can wait to play with these."

ollie had been snapped out of her thoughts by bernards cheerful voice, bringing a rarely seen smile onto her flushed doll-like face "good luck" she called after him, watching him walk off before going in and making her way to the kitchen and preparing some piping hot chocolate then returning to her chair on the front porch , settleing back into the soft chair with a sigh then sipped at the cooling hot beverage

Orchid couldn't keep herself from laughing again as they raced down the hill for the second time, little out a little high pitches squeal as they turned sideways, speeding off a small ramp. She was enjoying herself very much, but the landed had caused snow to fly up into her face, her eyes squinting shut momentarily as a relfex. Before...Valek suddenly turned them, holding her close as they collided with a tree. The impact was a little rough, especially for Valek. Orchid immdeiatly turned her attention to him, "Never mind me! Are you alright?" She asked, brushing off the slight stinging sensation coming from her ankle. It was broken, but with a glance down, she realized she had been cut by the sled, or a rock, or, well, she didn't know. But, once again, she was focused on Valek.

Valek opened his eyes. "Don't worry about me I'm alright." He was lying a stick from the tree was stabbing him in the back. He looked and saw the cut on archids leg. He quickly tore off a piece of his shirt and wrapped it around nice and tight. He went to help her stand and noticed she wasn't putting weight on her foot. He grabbed a stick and another piece of shirt and made a split. "Alright let go get you looked at." He said as he squat down so he could piggy back her back to the house. FireMaiden FireMaiden

Laurel waled down the snowy street, her cloak flowing in the chilling wind. She glanced at her notebook, where an address and a name were written. She stopped and double-checked the house number and street. She had arrived.

She stepped up to the front door and knocked. When the door opened, she smiled slyly. "Hello, Otis. My name is Laurel." She extended her hand. "I am looking for someone named Bernard. Do you know him?"

Natsume_Sakasaki_1.png1f15b8041731b7c61ed091300b57a18e--anime-wolf-anime-neko.jpg Hector Vermilion & Selkie
It was morning and Hector was busy with yet another one of his many potion experiments. Certainly he had books full of recipes that he could follow, but Hector wasn't looking for a particular desired result. No he enjoyed the spontaneous reactions of the ingredients and the resulting concoctions that came from them. All the while he was also brewing a variety of tonics and tinctures just on the other side of the room away from any volatility that may occur due to his experiment. The potion he was working on produced a florescent purple color. He swirled it around a bit and waited for a reaction. Nothing. "Hmm, perhaps heat will cause a reaction." Walking over to one of the bunsen burner stations, he placed the glass vial in a holding apparatus before turning it on. The gas ignited quickly producing a flame just underneath the potion. The cocktail soon reached a boil and began to change its coloration. It went from purple to a florescent green. He let the now green potion simmer for a bit longer to see if there was a further reaction.

Meanwhile Selkie, Hector's contracted werewolf assistant and something akin to a familiar, had made her way down to the lab to join him. " Good morning Master. What do you have brewing this time?" She asked as she as she donned her lab coat. If there was one thing that Hector was very keen on it was his explicit instruction that anyone entering his lab was to wear a lab coat. "Ah Selkie, Good Night! I was just in the midst of watching the reaction of this particular potion. You see it started as a florescent purple. but once I added heat it changed to this now green color and I'm trying to see if by applying constant heat if it will continue to change. I wonder if it's state of matter has changed due to the heat?" Hector continued to observe the reactions within the potion. Selkie simply shook her head before going over to the other side of the room to check up on the other potions. "Have you even checked these yet master? It seems most of these are ready. Do you wish for me to bottle and cork these for you?"

"Hmm? Oh yes of course Selkie. Whatever you say. I'll grab something to eat in a moment." Selkie sighed heavily. There he went again, completely enthralled in his experiment. Still a small grin adorned her face as she began to bottle potions for him. He was kind enough to label what they were on the beakers so she knew which bottles to use for which potion. "Let's see here. A tonic that induces sleep, low strength. Must be a sleeping aid. Next we have... an potion to help see in the dark. Master does enjoy his night walks." As Selkie continued to bottle the potions she heard Hector chuckling to himself. That's never a good sign. She finished filling the bottle she was working on before turning around to see what he was so happy about.

Hector was seen playing with a gelatinous blob bouncing up and down from the floor. He was rather pleased with himself. The blob was the florescent green potion he was working with. "Selkie! Selkie! Look at this. It seems I've created some sort of gelatinous blob that has the same properties of a bouncy ball! Isn't it fascinating?" Hector continued to watch it bounce up and down. It didn't seem to slow down whatsoever. That was until the sound of it bouncing was stopped as it fell upon the floor with a squishing sound. Soon after it began to melt the stone floor underneath it. "Master!" Selkie wasted no time rushing to Hector's side and placing herself between the now melting floor and him. "Stay back master I don't want you to get hurt." Hector however was trying to continue observing what was happening. The blob was losing mass while melting the floor. It eventually came to a stop leaving only a small hole no bigger than maybe a foot in diameter and about five inches deep. "Incredible. Did you see that Selkie? It changed states all of a sudden and became an acid. I must repeat this experiment again at once."

"You will do no such thing master!" Selkie snapped. "First off we have much to do today. Namely you need to bathe and get changed after eating breakfast. You've been down in this lab for three days now with that experiment! You must go outside and mingle." Hector did not approve of that idea on bit. he had just begun the experiment. He couldn't just up and leave in the middle of it. But he relented against the pleading of Selkie. She was right. He need to get out of the lab for a few hours at least. "Understood. I shall take your advice Selkie. Did you have something in mind?" Selkie's tail was wagging as her demeanor changed. "Yes. Today we shall be visiting the Phantomhive estate. I've already submitted plans for this earlier in the week. They will be expecting us in the afternoon."

"Hey it's not broken, I can walk!" Orchid pouted, though, she didn't exactly stop him. She also reluctantly climbed up on his back, still pouting. Ollie sat on the porch sipping at her hot chocolate with a small yawn taking out her wand once more, looking around to make sure no one was around before muttering a soft incantation and flicking her wand at the upper floor library, causing a small stack of book to come floating out to her, snatching a book off the top she snuggled back and read quietly

The halls of the Phantomhive estate lie more quiet than normal, often filled with raucous mishaps and shenanigans, servants dashing about here and there cleaning the broken expensive decor and trying their best to keep the place in working order. Today, however, it seemed to be less of a madhouse. The perfect time to bring some funds in to replace those broken antiques and pay the servants their very well deserved due.

Suddenly, a low and resonating ringing could be heard softly throughout the halls and rooms of the building, emanating seemingly from the very air around whomsoever heard it, its haunting and beautiful tone seeming to originate from everywhere at once. Those staff familiar with the sound froze in their tracks, the hairs on the backs of their neck standing at end, though for only a moment before resuming their duties, a noticeable look of worry about some of their faces. Another toll, identical to the last, rung out only seconds later, followed by another, and another. This repeated for several minutes before a muffled, but ferocious roar was heard and felt from the floor, presumably from the depths of the estate's extensive understructure, followed by a small tremor, jingling glass and metal implements and decorations as though an insignificant earthquake had struck. One of the servants in the kitchen, an older man cooking a requested meal brought a small crucifix, chain wrapped around his wrist to his mouth, kissing the cold metal and placing it back in his pocket before returning to his work, his face unworried though aware danger was near.

Clyde Myers & Willow

Meanwhile in the basement
"At the precipice of worlds, I call thee, come forth beasts of burden and companionship. Fall to the abyss and rise with purpose." Called a sullen voice from behind what appeared to be a glowing transparent wall. A magic circle; Among the most common of practices in summoning outsiders to your own world, lie in the center of a large, immaculately designed room with books lining bookcases built into the walls of three sides, the fourth side housing a large and clearly aged tapestry covered in diagrams and strange markings, the likes of which bore no semblance to any known human language. Clyde stood tall in front of this tapestry facing a cylindrical transparent wall of energy which rose from the floor to the ceiling, a large bell swinging slowly from said ceiling letting out a low, soft ring every few seconds. A small flying creature in the shape of a woman, some six inches high, flew circles around the cylinder, twirling and leaving a trail of light as she went. Minutes of this ritual occurred before a shape begun to bear form in the cylinder. A very large humanoid shape, muscle-bound and hunched over, roughly ten foot in height and bearing a stag's skull for a head. "Very good. A beast of burden perhaps?" The flying woman questioned in a breezy voice, as though the wind itself were speaking, moments before the beast billowed a near-deafening roar, slamming two powerful fists against its prison, ripples flowing across the cylinder. "If that is the case, then it is one which cannot be sold. Too aggressive, and too powerful to stop killing its handlers. Begone." Clyde said calmly, the last word resonating through the room, the bell ringing considerably more loudly with its next chime. The beast inside the magic circle fell to its knees as an unseen force pressed it down, though it fought back, raising one leg as though to try standing again, releasing a vicious growl as it did so. "Feisty one, this creature. I think it means to stay, dear." the airy voice spoke out. Without hesitation, Clyde stepped forward, moving his hand to his side and unsheathing a long blade as he walked "When I issue a command, a beast will follow it. Now, begone." He uttered, his tone changing to that of annoyance as the creature resisted his initial demand, raising the blade as he got close and slashing diagonally from the creature's shoulder to its hip, his blade passing through the magic circle's barrier effortlessly. The beast let out one final roar before vanishing, blood remaining on the floor and blade from the slash. With a smooth flick, the remaining blood was tossed from the blade upon the floor and it was sheathed. "Poor creature. It must be in pain now, wherever it went back to." The small woman whispered before waving her hand, the blood disappearing from the floor with a glittery swirl of magic. "Let's try this again, shall we."
