To make a wish upon a shooting star, you must first believe that it can come true

It all started on one star-filled night in the last week of summer vacation.

In a small town still classified as a mountain town that is nestled between opposing mountain ranges in the Hokkaido prefecture of Japan. It houses no more than 1000 residents and is often seen as a tourist attraction during the summer months due to its relatively cool temperatures despite the Summer months. In addition, it is frequently a tourist attraction because of the unique cosmic phenomena that has been creating buzz around the internet for the past decade of the sky having the most shooting stars and display of the solar system than any place within the country, let alone from northern vantage points.

Though officially known as Niyama Town, or simply known as Two Mountains Town, it has been getting another name attached to it and it is wholeheartedly due to the recent, unexplainable wonders in the sky:

Nogaraboshi - The Town Bathing in Stars.

Naturally the wonder has attracted a lot more tourists, which has effectively brought a lot more wealth to the once humble and peaceful town. Little does anyone know, the truth of the frequent display of sparkling stars and clear constellations is the work of something far greater than anyone can ever imagine and especially for 6 kids present at the time there will be the tenth annual shooting star, as predicted by astronomers.

June 20th, 2025. The day of the Summer Solstice and the day that will be known to 9 kids of ages ranging from 14-16 as the day stars fell and they learned to fly.

As a resident of Nogaraboshi, a majority of Sakiko's belongings are in her room , but at the time of the shooting star festival, she will have her exploring kit/backpack that includes a compass, two full water cantines, a hand telescope to see off in the distance, a journal that she keeps various thoughts and observations made about her surroundings.

Other than that, she gets around town on her bike, but when in town, it's her skateboard that is gonna be with her. She also has a pair of goggles.

Fashion Sense — By all rights, Sakiko is a tomboy. She loathes wearing anything with even the slightest hint of girliness. Shorts, loose baggy pants, shirts that hide any hint of a developing body, a hat to keep her hair from even being seen as long, and tons of accessories that make her feel more comfortable.

Personality:

They say curiosity killed the cat. And if that was always the case, Kiki would have been offed from this planet long ago. She has a thrill of the hunt, always seeking new adventures in the small town she spent her entire life in. Growing up in a small town is a big bore other than the few times of year when tourists show up, so what else is one to do but find new ways to entertain yourself? In her world, she needs to find secrets others haven't thought of finding. She isn't afraid of much. Maybe dying of boredom, but that's one thing that she tries not to let consume her.

Kiki, despite her tomboyish nature, is actually quite optimistic, but she also has a problem of not knowing when to put something in her mouth to keep it from saying the wrong thing. She has what most may call the absense of mind when she's yapping. Her little regard for how words can be perceived often has put her in situations that are a risk to her general health. Either that or her snooping produces the same results. Generally, she tries not to focus on the bad, but sometimes the bad is so great that she can't ignore it.

History:

If there was one thing that was evidently clear about Sakiko and the young woman she would grow up to be, it’s just one thing: she had no intention on being a girly, frilly, prissy little princess. Much to the dismay of her aunt, who raised her and who was very much the opposite of her niece. Still, that couldn’t be helped.

Her heart was that of an adventurer. An explorer. It wasn’t a surprise for her aunt. Sakiko’s parents were renown explorers, known for their trips all around the world. From the Appalachian Mountains in America to their ventures on Mount Everest to surveying Antarctica and even the last frontier in Alaska, her parents made a living exploring the world and submitting their findings to various news outlets. Their adventures have since been adapted into various forms of fictional media.

Tanken and Sakura Ishida. The world knows them by their duo name: Ishida Worldwide, but Kiki knows them as her parents. Yet, for most of her life, she’s only received letters from them. They would, on occasion, visit when they were able, but in the sixteen years she’s been alive, she’s likely only spent two of those with her parents. Her mother’s sister, Hana, was actually the one who raised he. She lives with Hana in her home. Hana runs the flower shop in Niyama that’s the source for all things flowers. It also triples as a bookstore and small café where customers can get coffee or tea and a small selection of pastries and baked goods.

But not even being distant could kill the inherited love for adventure that Kiki got from her parents. Hana tried to stop it, but none of it would kill her love for just exploring. Kiki, in just a few short years, has been able to explore most of the surrounding environment, especially the mountains.

Fate would have it that she wouldn’t be alone during the festival.

Jason is an eccentric individual. Often times putting himself at risk when he believes people need to be protected. Self-deprecating, chronically pessimistic and clinically depressed. Despite this he never stopped trying to be a good person. Believing that being a good person should not be so difficult. He enjoys a wide variety of things, but has only a few hyper fixations that he always returns to. Despite having a dark view on the world, he always does his best to do the right thing. History:
Born to a happy family in the Midwest of the United States. Despite his odd way of doing things he grew up being understood by only his parents. It was a happy life. He had a wonderful relationship with his parents and never felt unwanted or neglected.

At the age of 15 his parents moved them to Japan for his father's new job. Since he wasn't much of a social person he didn't really have too much issue with this transition. He found the culture and land very interesting and even learned Japanese on his own.

A month or so after his 16th birthday his parents were killed buy a drunk driver. This event shook his very core. He began to rethink things. Why people were so cruel and why people couldn't act like decent people. These questions led him down a darker and darker path. Finding that the cruelty and injustice of the world seemed so unnecessary, he didn't bother falling into pure hedonism. Rather she focused on making the world better in his own small ways. He dropped out of school, got a job and does volunteer work when he can. Choosing to do things his own way and be there for those he could.

First of all, Jun has dark red hair that is tied back in a ponytail instead of Nagisa's light blue pigtails. Next, his eyes are brown and he stands about five feet eleven inches tall. Just like Nagisa, he has a very effeminate body and facial structure. This often leads to misunderstandings from people that don't know him... And teasing from those that do.
He prefers cargo pants/shorts with composite toe boots and earthy tone shirts.
Personality: Jun is typically calm and collected, preferring to go with the flow to avoid/deter Rei's shenanigans. He's a lot like a cat, you can't really tell what he's thinking until it's too late. He's also not above using certain misunderstandings about himself to his advantage.

History: Born and raised in Japan, Jun grew up alongside his twin sister Rei in a fairly normal household. Normal in that both of his parents are in the picture plus the more than typical sibling rivalry. Jun and Rei were often mistaken for sisters, even after the duo had gone through puberty.
He did have some crushes in school, but every time he tried talking to any of them about it, they'd say they were uninterested in boys that were cuter than themselves. Being rejected so many times, it was inevitable that he would lose some confidence along the way.

Their Wish:
Appearance: He is about 5’10, and very fit, made to run.

He tends to dress in darker shades of green or blue, alongside black, and he tends to be a bit careless with his looks. He is also familiar with dressing up to work in the inn, although he feels like it looks off.

Personality: Yukimura isn’t the most expressive guy out there. He tends to stay by himself and even when he talks, he tends to be more blunt, and doesn’t show much. By his own admission, he doesn’t often feel comfortable with people, but even when he seems unbothered, he tries to take care of the people around him, and can appreciate the few friends he has. Even if he does seem bored, he is quite diligent and has his own dreams he chases with all he has, and can be really competitive when it’s about what he cares about. By his own admission, he is kind of a musclehead, and tends to use exercise as a way to handle tense situations. Even with the serious expression, he can make jokes, even if it is hard to tell apart from his usual talk.

For as long as she can remember, Nagi has taken shit from both the local police and more civic-minded townspeople just for being the local yakuza boss's only child. As such, she bears no small amount of resentment for authority and polite Japanese society, choosing to blame them over her father being a criminal.

History:
As the daughter and only child of the boss of the only yakuza game in town, Nagi was never under the impression that her father was anything but a criminal. Still, she didn't give a damn. He wasn't the one that ran out on her and her father with some big-shot businessman from Tokyo.

Her childhood was somewhat normal overall, she supposed. She had a loving father, a good amount of big brother types with her dad's goons, and a few friends over the years that weren't scared off by her family's reputation or the scary men that hung around her at times. She grew up tough, having learned to fight and defend herself from a young age with the help of her dad and his men to teach her. That, combined with the image she gave off meant that Nagi got herself into more than a few scraps over the years, putting her in trouble with local law enforcement on occasion. To Nagi, it wasn't her fault that schoolyard bullies and local delinquents deserved a fist or two to the face.

Over the years, Nagi wanted nothing more than to help her father with his business as the local yakuza boss, but two things interfered: One, women are expressly forbidden from taking part in yakuza life. Two, her father made it clear that even had she been a son, he would never have allowed her to join up. All he wanted was for her to have a legitimate career and family, and so Nagi struggles to abide by his wishes, trying to find exactly what it is she wants out of life.

At the time of the festival, Nagi had taken her ass up into the mountains to stargaze and down a few of the beers she'd taken out of her dad's fridge without him giving her crap about it. Too bad she wasn't prepared for the shitshow she'd soon have to endure...

Personality:
Kyoko is a know it all when it comes to any subject, and will apply her learned information to everything she comes across. Kyoko has a habit of correcting others, yet secretly, she envies them for having everything they wanted.
Kyoko hates getting into fights and panicks when someone throws fists at her. When she gets hit, she starts crying. She also is scared of people becoming her friend, only to run off because of her attitude.

History:
Kyoko is the adopted child of two lesbians. She was adopted when she was still a newborn, and had been growing up with love and affection from her two mothers. However, she would face a bit of teasing from the others in kindergarten, especially during one special day where all the students would ask their fathers to come and talk to the kids about their jobs. This didn't hurt her, from what the kids saw outside, but mentally, Kyoko was upset. Thus she would suffer from inferiority complex.

Of course she didn't let her parents know what was up, because she was afraid she would upset them. During the years after that, she tried to make up for her lack of a father, by trying to become the smartest person amongst her classmates. There was however a flaw to her learning and distribution of knowledge. She became unbearable to be around. She would correct others mistakes, and say things that others had already known to begin with. This caused her to lose many friends, including someone who's name began with R. She couldn't remember the name.

Her stuck up know it all attitude would lead to her getting punched in the face by a student named Nanako Nagi, and sent to the ER after. Kyoko was crying during this time, wondering why no one at school liked her. Present day, she's out of the hospital, and walking through the festival, seeing everyone else have a good time. She felt like she didn't deserve happiness, and began walking home......

Personality: Metallifekuwagamon retains the sense of justice and Bravery it had from its previous evolution, Blitzmon. Metallifekuwagamon however also has taken on more of a tactical approach to combat, maintaining their distance from an opponent to strike them from far away, only going into melee combat as a last resort. However, when the Crest of Knowledge becomes Corrupt, their personality switches to a reckless Berserker, aiming to kill the target and anything standing in its way, and favoring close combat, instead of distant sniper tactics. Their armor also changes color, to black.
Moves:
Homing Laser - Fires an omnidirectional laser from one of its fingertips at a foe. They can be fired one at a time or all at once for a wider range.
Emit Blade - Creates a beam sword via its fingertips to fight with an opponent in close range.

Personality: Through the Crest of Delusion, GrandisKuwagamon is created. Their mind twisted with the idea that everyone is against them, thus they will kill everyone to make them stop. They're not going to listen to reason either.

Personality:

The defining characteristic for Asahi that makes him who he is is the unwavering positivity he has even when things get bad. Life can get sad and depressing or the thoughts in one's head, where in Asahi's case are more often than they aren't, can get loud. Actually, Asahi is plagued with the sort of disposition that one might expect of someone who had just experienced tremendous loss. For him, he always has to keep a smile on his face. He has to because if he doesn't, then all is truly lost. Asahi is someone who has to be that ray of sunshine for people or else he'll become so overwhelmingly sad that it will be impossible to swim out of the ocean of melancholy that tends to consume him in the many moments he's alone with his thoughts.

He's always having to keep his mind in check. Focus more on the good and silence out the bad. Or at least that's what his grief counselor told him to do when he experienced a loss so profoundly impactful on Asahi that it nearly killed him.

What happens when your will to be who you were was taken from you?

Well that's what happened to Asahi Hoshino.

Asahi was like many who just wanted to be someone important. He was a lively boy with so much energy, enough positivity to improve any foul mood in any room or location. He could be a bit naive and not understand how the world works, but truthfully, Asahi just loved everything so profundly and was the sweetest, most caring, and hopeful boys anyone could ever imagine. He made for the perfect son for the Mayor of Niyama Town, Kenji Hoshino and his wife, Kairi Hoshino.

Or at least he would be for one of them.

just a month ago, tragedy struck the Hoshino family. Because Kenji is also the mayor, it was a big story. Kairi became suddenly ill and it was a fast acting infection that took her life within a week of being infected. The doctors didn't know what it was or what caused it. The only silverlining was that it was essentially painless for Kairi, but the same couldn't be said for Kenji and his son. The pain they felt at the time of the death, during the funeral that was held a week later and the two weeks since spent in mourning was, at the least, devastating.

Asahi seemed to take it the hardest and entered a suicidal state for a few days. He spent some time in the hospital, even getting to know a girl named Kyoko for a brief period until he left a week before she was set to. His mental state was the most fragile it could be. The loss of his mother had effected him to his core, but it was a lot more than that. Every day Asahi faced a rather disturbing challenge of living every day, because every time he was alone or had a moment alone, all he could think about was how he didn't want to be alive anymore, but slowly his father helped him through the inital worries and set him up with the best therapist that specialized in grief to help him even further. It's been a few weeks but Asahi has managed to take something out of it.

So he made a decision. He didn't want to bother his father with how he might be really feeling because he was busy with making sure everything involving the festival went without a hitch, so Asahi would fake the smile. He'd fake it but also try and be happy for his father and the town. It's what his mother would have wanted.
