The knock came just as Zara had finished applying a face mask. Well timed, in her opinion. "One second!" She called out as she rinsed off her hands, drying them before walking to the door. She moved swiftly, but there was no rush or panic to her actions. Zara Jayashri did not rush herself for anyone, no matter how fond she was of them.

She got to the door and opened it wide, allowing Héctor to easily step inside. "Hi, come on in," she welcomed warmly, closing the door behind as the man came in. "You look great. I can only imagine what you're going to wear for the actual party." Her words came out as a light tease, but beyond the joke she knew that whatever Héctor chose to wear would be amazing.

"Make yourself comfortable, set your things wherever," Zara gestured towards the couch as a lose suggestion, but Héctor was free to go wherever. The room was rather large, she'd gotten one of the more expensive suites. One that had a separate bedroom and common area, so they had plenty of space to get ready and not feel crowded by their things. An important quality, as Zara had packed a ton of clothing, and the things in Héctor's bag would surely take up space once laid out.

;; Casper
The flight from Miami to Revelstoke was pleasant. Casper was so used to traveling that the rapid changes didn't seem to do much to his system. Well, that and he'd popped a couple Xanax and crashed peacefully the entire flight. Rest was important and as someone who gave up sleep in favor of partying so often, he'd take it when he could get it.

So here he was. At the lodge, fully energized, with nothing to do. Look out world, here comes trouble. It would be surprising if the lodge wasn't burnt down within the hour. He'd come out to the lobby with the intention of trying to harass Elowen, but saw she was otherwise engaged. Who was he to break up her flirtations with the total dilf at the front desk? So, instead he went over to the bar and ordered a drink. He was really pushing the limits of the unprescribed Xanax that hadn't quite worn out yet. Oh well. What was life without a little risk?

How he hated having nothing to do. Casper got up from the bar and wandered the lobby a bit, observing the people around him, trying to see if there was anyone he could bother. For the most part, the people at the lodge looked rather average. Cozy families, couples, friends, sharing a loving vacation. Disgustingly boring.

But, there was one that caught his eye. A woman who was sat writing in a notebook was rather intriguing to him, and he found himself walking towards her. Without much thought, he approached from behind and snatched the notebook out of her hands.

"Whatcha writing?" Casper asked, a teasing tone in his voice. "Is it any good? I've been itching for some entertainment around here." He walked around her chair to sit down in the seat across from her. He looked down at the notebook that was now in his hands. "A poet, how interesting. I thought poetry was one of those dead art forms, no?"

RAVEN CROSS
The turkey sandwich truck has been spotted. And Raven's stomach pretty much growled in angst at the glorious sight. Quickly, she looped her arms through Wren's and Belle's arms and practically dragged them over as if there were fire on their heels, "Three turkey sandwiches please, and three hot chocolates!" she announced to the cash tender as she plopped down money onto the counter.

The person almost seemed surprised by Raven's antics, but of course the town being a small one, they recognized the girl and shook their head with a smile as they made the change and began to make the food and drinks for the trio. Raven stood waiting, like a proud super hero that just saved the country from another villain. It didn't take long for the cooks to whip up the simple yet delicious sandwiches for them and Raven grabbed all three, "oh... were you guys not ordering?" She joked and nodded for Wren to grab the hot chocolate tray as she made her way over to one of the benches, notably, a one with a head lamp hanging above, "wow oh wow oh wow I'm so-" but she was cut off by her phone ringing an obnoxious Deadmau5 remix.

On the other end of the line, the yelling immediately began and all Raven could give back was a "yep...yep...mhm...sure" without losing her tempter on the author. When the call ended she quickly gobbled down the sandwich and stood, "gotta dash, gimme a call if you need an uber anywhere." she said to the two, disappointment obvious in her tone as she planted a loud, overexaggerated kiss on the top of both their heads, "see ya later!" She announced as she grabbed her hot chocolate and practically ran to her van to get back to the event hall of the lodge.

ELOWEN WINTERS
Elowen immediately noticed how Brandon's eyes lingered on her body. And she doubted it was because of the outfit... Which is exactly what she was going for. A trick if you will. "Thank you I put it on just for you." She hummed and leaned back against the counter, swaying a little bit as if she were a bashful teenager, "So I'm having this party tonight, you should come up to my room and hang out." She offered but when she was met with that usual annoyed glare she couldn't help but smile, "okay, I'll take that as a maybe. I got Remy Martin 1738 with your name written on it if you do stop by." She said, as if the fancy cognac was tempting for the man.

As some party goers stepped into the lobby and headed straight for the elevator she straightened her posture, "well looks like I have my own guests to attend to... Be there or be square." She said as she stepped away and started heading toward the elevator but paused and turned to him, "I guess that saying doesn't really work for you... since you're already a square... let's say cubed then." She gave one last taunting smile and joined her "friends." But as she was passing through the lobby she noticed Casper talking to a girl, "Hey Casp!" She called and quickly made a lewd gesture with her hands, one involving an O shape and the other pushing her pointer finger through it, but then giving him a thumbs up right as the elevator door opened.

There wasn't much decorating to do. Her dad had already hired a maid to come put them all up for Elowen to get her in the "Christmas spirit" even though she couldn't go somewhere warm. Either way, the slow stream of people coming into her suite was beginning to put her in the Christmas spirit... The Christmas spirit of booze and "skiing" and sex if there was a guy or girl lucky enough for Elowen's taste. As the hours trickled by and the girl was becoming more tipsy, she heard someone call her name from near the door and she hurried over, "well look who it is!" She squealed and threw her arms around Brandon, "come to get the fancy cognac?"

JACE WALKER
Jace's only response to about grabbing her purse, was a gruff grunt. The man didn't even bother opening his passenger door for her, or trying to make conversation on the drive to the shop. And he didn't bother saying anything as he backed her truck into the shop. He just simply began his work, crawling under her truck, leaning over the engine, muttering things about how much this thing was a piece of junk. But it would take a while for him to get the part he needed. So why not fix other things while she was in town? Of course he wouldn't be some sleaze bag mechanic who'd charge her for a billion different things, so it would be work for free but out of boredom.

When he thoroughly diagnosed the issue, he grabbed a dirty rag from his work bench and began to use it to wipe his hands, "sooo the camshaft is fucked. I'll have to order in a new one. It'll cost a pretty penny but once it's fixed, and with regular tune ins, your truck shouldn't break down. They get clogged and gross and eventually fail if not worked on regularly. Especially with these old trucks." He did his best to sound disconnected, keep his eyes down. But one glance at her had his eyes roaming. She was gorgeous, he couldn't deny that.

"In the mean time, since the part will take about a week to come in, I can get you a voucher for the lodge. They should be able to house ya for a while. Or there's some quiet bnb's around town. If you want though, while we're waiting, I can fix some little things up if you want. The heating, new filters, little things like that to get you where you need to go." His offers were probably the nicest encounter she'd have with him. But now, with how long he'd have to work on her truck, he'd have to avoid her like the plague after this.

TALISA SKY
Tali leaned back in her seat, her eyes drifting to the snow-covered trees as a small smile played on her lips. "Lost in your thoughts, huh?" she teased, glancing at Lawson out of the corner of her eye. "You always were the deep, brooding type. Guess some things never change." Her fingers idly brushed a strand of hair from her face as she added, her tone light but playful, "Babysitting hooligans sounds like quite the promotion from babysitting me. Although, if I remember right, I was more fun than a handful. You sure you haven’t lost your touch?"

The truck hit a gentle bump in the road, causing Tali to steady herself against the door. Her gaze shifted back to Lawson, her smile softening as her thoughts lingered on his words. "The festival, huh?" she said, her voice thoughtful, almost distant for a moment. She let out a small sigh, her breath fogging slightly against the cool air. "It’s been way too long since I’ve done something that’s just... fun." A playful glint sparked in her eyes as she turned more fully toward him, her tone dipping into something teasing. "But don’t think you’re off the hook this year. You’ve got to keep me company—after all, someone’s got to make sure you don’t spend the whole time dodging the good parts. Consider it payback for all this babysitting talk."

As the truck came to a stop in front of the lodge, Tali straightened in her seat, her eyes sweeping over the familiar structure. The warm, glowing lights spilled out onto the snowy ground, casting everything in a golden hue. She took a moment to soak in the scene, the cozy hum of the place already tugging at her. "Here we are," she said, her tone brightening. She let the sight settle over her before turning back to Lawson, a sly smile tugging at her lips. There was something both nostalgic and exciting about being back, and it showed in the way her expression softened before she spoke again.

"So," she started, her voice taking on a playful edge as she leaned toward him, just enough to close the distance a little. "There’s a party happening here tonight. I don’t know exactly what to expect, but my sister mentioned it, and it sounded like a good time. Why don’t you come by? You could use a break from all those responsibilities, and I wouldn’t mind the company." Her eyes lingered on his, her grin turning a touch more inviting. "What do you say?"

Ivy Hayes

The Influencer

Ivy contemplated her best friend's words, a gentle smile spreading across her face.
"I really don’t know what I want or what he’s truly after,"
she admitted softly, her gaze dropping to the floor.
"He’s incredibly sweet to me, but at the same time, it feels like he’s holding back."
She took a sip of her drink, allowing the cool liquid to steady her thoughts.

"I guess time will tell,"
she continued, her voice laced with uncertainty.
"Speaking of which, Oliver just texted me,"
she added, gulping as she tried to maintain her composure. Though she was unsure about her feelings for Julian, there was no denying that Oliver would always hold a special place in her heart. When he had left without warning and cut off all communication, it had hurt her deeply, leaving her questioning her worth.

That experience probably explained why her only serious relationship in high school had been with Khalil—a decision that turned out to be a complete disaster. Yet, despite the chaos, she recognized it as a valuable learning experience. She had discovered a lot about herself through those trials, even if admitting her bisexuality had unintentionally hurt someone she cared about back then. It was a complicated past, but it had shaped her into who she was today.

Cora watched, a mix of surprise and irritation flashing across her face as her notebook slipped from her fingers, gliding effortlessly into the hands of the man who had taken it. She reluctantly lifted her gaze to meet his, observing as he settled into a chair directly across from her, a playful smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. With a subtle roll of her eyes, she spoke, her voice softer than she anticipated.
"Well, since you have it in your hands, I suppose you can see what I wrote,"
she said, her tone surprisingly warm rather than laced with bitterness.

As he leafed through her notes, she couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
"I mean, I guess to some it might seem pointless or even dead,"
she continued, a hint of sincerity creeping into her words.
"But for me, it’s a vital way to cope and stay true to myself,"
she added, giving a casual shrug as she leaned back in her chair, regaining her composure.

Cora was no stranger to antics like this; having grown up with a brother and six boisterous cousins, plus a gaggle of rambunctious boys from her neighborhood, she was well-acquainted with their tendency for mischief. Such behavior hardly fazed her anymore—she had learned to navigate the chaos with a blend of patience and humor over the years.

As she waited for his response, her attention was momentarily diverted by a girl walking past, who was making an exaggerated gesture with her hands, as if caught in the middle of some dramatic tale. Cora felt a chuckle bubbling up inside her, but she quickly suppressed it, turning her head away to hide her amusement. The absurdity of it all struck her; what was it about this town? First, her parents had whisked her away to a place colder than she was accustomed to, and now, here she was, her notebook snatched by a complete stranger while another seemed to think she would be interested in a romantic entanglement with him.

"My Lord"
she thought, shaking her head slightly, a smile tugging at her lips.
"I am in for one wild vacation."
Perhaps this unexpected turn of events would lead to stories worth telling, a break from the mundane routine she had grown accustomed to. With a mix of curiosity and amusement, she wondered what other surprises this strange little town had in store for her.

awson was jolted out of his reverie by her voice, turning to her with a warm, soft smile that lit up his face.
"Yes, here we are! Would you like me to take your bags inside?"
he asked, shifting the truck into park with a sense of finality. The familiar setting of the party location surrounded them, the laughter and music drifting through the air, and for a moment, he felt the weight of nostalgia wash over him. Memories of past gatherings flooded his mind—joyful faces, shared stories, and the simple, innocent fun of youth.

After a brief pause, he processed her earlier words, a hint of concern creeping into his expression.
"Tali, I really don't think the kids want me at the party. I can't imagine they'd enjoy themselves knowing the town constable is lurking about,"
he said, letting out a husky laugh that echoed lightly in the truck. His tone carried a mix of humor and sincerity, reflecting his awareness of how his presence might affect the atmosphere and the carefree spirit of the evening. But he knew, if she tried he couldn't say no to her.

With a determined nod, he got out of the vehicle and walked to her side, opening her door with a courteous gesture and extending his hand in a welcoming manner.
" You know, I never minded babysitting you back in the day. You were such a a good kid, full of energy and curiosity, and you never gave me any trouble,"
he reminisced, a hint of nostalgia softening his voice. It was clear that he cherished those moments, the bond they had formed over the years, and the trust that had developed between them.

"You always had a light about you that made my job easier,"
he continued, a fond smile playing on his lips.
"Watching you learn and adapt was one of the highlights of watching you."
He glanced at the lively scene ahead, filled with young people ready to celebrate, and then back at her.
"Come on, let me give you a hand,"
he encouraged, his eyes sparkling with the memories of their shared past, eager to help her step into this new chapter of their lives. With his hand still extended, he hoped to bridge the gap between their cherished memories and the present, ready to support her in whatever way she needed.

Kennedy caught the look that Darcy shot after the kiss, a playful glimmer in her eyes, and couldn't help but let out a soft giggle. Her cheeks flushed a warm shade of pink as the group made their way toward the diner, the laughter and chatter around them blending into a comforting background hum. As they walked, she listened intently to him recount tales of his birth in a truck, his voice animated as he described the quirky circumstances surrounding his arrival into the world, complete with the amusing mishap that had everyone chuckling.

Once they arrived at the diner, they found a cozy booth and settled in. Kennedy turned to Bryson, her expression shifting to one of mild embarrassment. “Sorry,” she said again, her voice slightly more serious this time. “Apparently, my brother has a spy. He was texting me asking who you are... So instead of explaining everything to him, I thought it might be easier if my older brother wants to make assumptions, he can just go right ahead.” She shrugged lightly, a playful smile dancing on her lips as she leaned back into the booth, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

In a moment of warmth and affection, she looked over at her niece and nephew, sticking her tongue out at them and eliciting giggles in return. “Besides,” she added with a teasing grin directed at Bryson, “you do have soft lips.” The playful banter brightened the atmosphere, and she felt a sense of ease enveloping them.

After a brief moment of silence, Kennedy decided to change the subject, her tone shifting to something more curious yet gentle. “I’m assuming that frustrated sigh I heard earlier means Mason messed up again? But not in the way of actually talking?” Her voice was light, almost teasing, but she was careful not to pry too deeply. She understood all too well how foolish Mason could be, and her heart ached for Darcy, knowing how frustrating it was to deal with someone who couldn’t communicate properly. She hoped to lend a listening ear, offering support without overstepping.

ren's eyes softened as he watched Raven bustle ahead, grabbing the sandwiches and heading toward a nearby table. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, his affection for his sister evident in the quiet warmth of his gaze. He carefully balanced the three hot chocolates, making sure they wouldn’t spill, and followed her to the table, setting them down gently. As he placed Belle's sandwich in front of her, he caught a glimpse of the twinkle in Raven's eyes and felt the comfort of their little trio being together.

He took a small bite of his sandwich, savoring the flavor as his gaze drifted back to Raven. He noticed her phone call then, his brow furrowing slightly in concern as he observed her demeanor shift from casual to exasperated. His heart gave a small squeeze, wondering if everything was okay. The conversation seemed to end abruptly, and as Raven stood to leave, he smiled softly at her. Leaning forward, he lowered himself slightly, allowing her to kiss his forehead.
"Love you,"
he called out to her with a quiet affection.
"I'll see you again soon."

Once Raven was off, Wren turned back to Belle with a playful grin.
"Well, looks like it's just you and me now!"
he said, a touch of lightheartedness in his tone.
"You just got back today, so I hope you're not too tired to hang out."
He raised an eyebrow, teasing her just a little, hoping she was up for the evening ahead despite her recent arrival.

"If you are too tired though, we can finish our lunch here and I can see you back to the lodge."
He didn't wanna push her to do too much when she just got off a plane today, but either way he was happy she was here and they'd have more then enough time to hangout even if it wasn't going to be for too long today.

Bryson
Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Bryson found himself glancing back and forth between Kennedy and Darcy, a frustrated huff escaping his lips. Embarrassment flushed through him, tinged with a heavy layer of confusion that left him utterly speechless after their unexpected kiss.

The shock lingered like a buzzing bee in his mind, and he instinctively raised a hand, brushing it lightly over his lips, feeling as if he were trying to erase the moment from existence, it wasn't cause he didn't like it, more of cause he didn't expect it, and that made it all the more embarrassing.

His eyes flitted around the cozy diner..a warm, inviting space.
Settling into the booth, the sensation of Kennedy’s gaze felt like a weight on his shoulders, prompting him to divert his attention elsewhere until her soft apology broke the air between them. It drew a sharp look from him, eyes narrowing in an attempt to parse her words.
He wanted to delve deeper into the conversation, to express the confusion simmering beneath his surface, yet the presence of Darcy and her children pressed down on him like an invisible barrier, making him hold back. With his arms crossed tightly over his chest, he listened to her attempts at explaining, feeling the futility of her words.. there was no warning, no preamble to justify the kiss that had caught him completely off guard.

“You can’t just go up to someone and randomly kiss them,” he spoke under his breath, his gaze finally meeting hers with a mix of frustration and curiosity. The thought of her compliment..."you do have soft lips"...echoed in his mind, sending an unexpected rush through him, side-glancing Darcy.

Finally, as Kennedy shifted her focus to Darcy, he seized the moment to grab the complimentary water, gulping it down in an attempt to quench the sudden thirst that had arisen from the whirlwind of emotions swirling within him.

POV - Héctor Castillo
Héctor smiled as Zara greeted him at the door, strutting on in with all his stuff as he continued to carry himself with confidence. He looked around the place, actually impressed by Zara's assortment of her room and how she managed to bedazzle it to fit with her style. He did the same thing to his room. Not just that, but also completely rearranging the interior to better match his standards. Admittedly, he wasn't supposed to be doing that. But of course, all he had to say when the staff brought it up to him was, "Your welcome."

Héctor had his hands on his hips as he spoke up in his spanish accent, his flamboyance in full spring. "Trust me, Mija, everyone there is gonna be kicking themselves for not even coming close to how absolutely stellar we'll look." He set his bag down on top of one of the ottomans, before turning his attention back to Zara.

"But you can't rush perfection, honey. They don't call it fashionably late for nothing, so we have to make sure that every single inch of us screams 'eye candy' before we go anywhere." It was clear how much passion Héctor had for fashion. After all, you can't feel confident in yourself if you don't look the part. That's what his mother always used to say. Héctor continued to keep his sassy walk going as he explored around Zara's room, checking out her tastes in interior decorating. "So where are your outfits, Mija? You do have them all planned out, no?"

Belle smiled warmly as she settled into her seat beside Raven and across from Wren, her heart swelling with joy at being back in town and reunited with her friends. The familiarity of their laughter and the comfort of their presence wrapped around her like a warm hug. However, that warmth flickered momentarily when she caught sight of Raven's expression after answering the call; the disappointment etched on his face caused her smile to fade briefly. It was a fleeting moment that reminded her of the complexities of their connections. With a quick goodbye, she turned her attention back to Wren, her best friend, knowing that his company was a surefire way to lift her spirits.

Seeing him always had a magical effect on her mood, and as she looked at him, her face brightened again. She scrunched up her nose playfully, a habit that had always made him chuckle, before breaking into a wide smile.
"I’m always up for more time with you! I didn’t fly all the way home just to be alone, silly!"
she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm as she took a generous bite of her sandwich.

The flavors exploded in her mouth, a delightful reminder of how much she had missed the incredible food from this town. Every bite was a taste of nostalgia, and she couldn’t help but let out a satisfied
"mmmm"
as she savored the deliciousness. It was as if the food here had a magic all its own, transporting her back to cherished moments spent with friends.

After relishing another bite, she paused, her eyes twinkling with mischief. Giggling softly, she leaned over to wipe a smudge of cranberry sauce from the corner of Wren's mouth, her fingers brushing against his skin, and pulled away with a playful smile.
"So, what are the plans? Since you didn’t know I was coming, you get to decide what we do tonight,"
she said, her tone light and teasing.
"Unless you need me to be your wingwoman... I’m totally down for that!"
she added with a wink, her playful spirit shining through as she finished her sandwich and took a sip of her hot cocoa, ready for whatever adventures the night might hold.

Ozelia Mae Bonet

O
zelia's sheepish smile softened as the man tried to reassure her, his efforts to make light of the situation calming her nerves. Errare humanum est—the thought of the Latin phrase sparked in her mind, the perfect line to use with her students when they made mistakes and felt bad about it. She could already imagine their wide-eyed expressions as they heard it, impressed by their teacher’s cleverness. A small chuckle escaped her as she tucked the phrase away for later use.

Her gaze drifted around the scene, surveying the small trinkets and toys scattered across the icy ground. They were scattered, sure, but everything seemed to be in one piece, though perhaps a little damp from the snow. A sense of relief washed over her.

“No, no, don’t worry about me, I’ve taken worse falls on much worse terrain,”
she chuckled, brushing off the incident with a lightheartedness that came so naturally to her. She ran a classroom full of five year old's after all, she once had a fall that landed her in a pile of upright Legos, this was nothing in comparison to that hellish pain. She bent down to pick up a small toy, a bright green plastic frog figurine with a curly mustache. Holding it up with a grin, she added,
"and the toys are fine too, see! I mean, look at this guy—Mr. Frog is just as handsome as when I bought him!"

Ozelia then moved to right the bag that had toppled over onto its side, carefully placing Mr. Frog inside before crawling around to collect the other scattered toys and stuffed animals.
"Really, I’m just a bit of an accident magnet—well, that and I’ve been told I can be a bit... airheaded, I guess,"
she added with a soft laugh.
"I really can’t help it, though! When so much is going on at once, it’s hard to focus on everything!"

She moved around him in circles, darting between pedestrians’ legs and offering apologetic smiles as she quickly gathered up the mess. Her voice bubbled nonstop with chatter, the flurry of words as much a reflection of her busy mind as her actions. Suddenly, she froze mid-motion, her words halting as she snapped her head up to look at him again.

"Really though, I’m just glad you’re okay! I didn’t expect you to go down with me!"
Her gaze lingered on him for a moment as she looked him up and down, noticing how he seemed to be handling the situation with such calm. After a beat, she moved closer to him, her hands instinctively reaching out.
"Look at me just—here, let me help you up!"
With exaggerated care, Ozelia stood up, bracing her feet on the ice-free parts of the sidewalk, and offered him a hand. Her smile was gentle, her eyes warm as she stood there, ready to offer him the same care he had shown her just moments before.

It had been a while since he had a girlfriend. That was practically music to Dallas' ears. Unless he was undatable which was a possibility as Dallas had no clue what type of guy he was, but he had held the door open for her to the store and cleaned up after himself.

But then there was the sentence of wanting to work on himself. That was typically a cop-out to wanting a relationship that Dallas had been all too familiar with. After looking at the snowglobes for a minute, she turned to face him too.

"Skipping town huh? Are you a bad boy?"
She asked emphasizing the bad boy part and raising an eyebrow. Truth be told, she usually went for 'bad boys' but that had led her astray 1 too many times in the past.

"I would forgive you...maybe."
She nudged him a little and then shook her head a little, to answer his question.
"For once, no. I've been here a couple of months. It's starting to feel like home to me, but I'm not used to the weather yet. Where are you running from, pretty boy?"

The ride to the auto shop was incredibly awkward for Sutton. She didn't try to make small talk because the man obviously didn't want to engage her. When they got there, she let him do his thing as she leaned against the wall and checked her phone. She had mostly just driven into town, hoping to find where to stay on her way in. She heard him mutter about her truck being a piece of junk but decided not to say anything, mostly because it honestly was a piece of junk, but a piece of junk she loved.

Sutton nodded along with his words,
"My dad and brothers always fixed it up for me, but I haven't been home in a while.”
She shrugged a little.

“And just how much will that run me?”
She groaned a little. Sutton has some savings she could dip into but she would have preferred not to, but it was a necessary evil.
"Usually I prefer AirBnB's but if it'll save me money to stay at the lodge then that's what I'll do. How far is the lodge from here?”
She had no clue how she was going to get around anywhere but that was a problem for later.

The twins piled into the booth on the same side as their mother, one on each side of her. She had grabbed them coloring pages so they would be entertained while she talked to Kennedy and Bryson.

"That obvious?"
Darcy laughed a little as Kennedy asked about her brother,
"I get why he's upset but he doesn't have to be such a..."
she then mouthed the word dick so the kids wouldn't hear her.

She then looked at Bryson and offered a small sympathetic smile,
"Sorry you got brought into all our family drama. It seems to follow me. I've only been back in town for a week."

Kennedy offered a gentle smile to Darcy, her eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Yes, I get that same look when he texts," she chuckled lightly, the sound warm and infectious. "It’s not that it follows you; it’s just Mason being Mason. You know how he is—always managing to stir the pot and keep things interesting." She paused for a moment, recalling the many times Mason had thrown them into unexpected situations, and shook her head with a soft laugh.

As she turned back towards Bryson, she caught his comment and felt a playful urge to respond. With a slight tilt of her head and a mischievous glint in her eye, she quipped, "Hmm... I don’t see a handbook that says I can’t." She punctuated her words with a playful wink, intentionally trying to play off the hurt that his earlier comment had caused her. Deep down, she appreciated the banter, but it still stung a bit more than she wanted to admit.

Feeling the familiar flutter of nerves, she began fidgeting with her hands—a habit she couldn’t seem to shake. As she bit her bottom lip, she glanced back at Darcy, her expression shifting to genuine curiosity. "Darcy, are you going to join us for the party?" she asked, her voice brightening with excitement. Her eyes lit up, sparkling with anticipation at the thought of having her friend by her side for the evening's festivities.

Just then, the server approached their table, and Kennedy quickly shifted her focus. She ordered a refreshing salad and a lemon water, her excitement for the night ahead bubbling beneath the surface. She couldn’t help but feel that this party might turn out to be more memorable than she had initially thought, especially with her friends by her side.

Bryson
Bryson shook off the sudden wave of anxiety that had gripped him, turning his attention to Darcy with a reassuring smile. "Hey, don’t worry about it... Every family has its quirks and dramas; it’s just part of the package, right?" He rubbed the back of his neck, a crooked grin playing on his lips.
"Besides, I won’t be around for long... Once my truck is fixed, I’ll be out of your guys hair." His smile faltered slightly as he caught Kennedy’s eye, her playful retort to his earlier comment causing his brows to knit together in confusion...
Was she being serious?.. Their exchange had taken on a tone reminiscent of middle-school teasing, something he was keen to sidestep... "Handbook or not, you know what I meant," he replied, even as he felt a childish sting at her audacious wink- Was she flirting with him, or jus straight up teasing him..?
He was at a loss; his experiences with women were limited, and she was one of the few who had even dared to kiss him.

With a sigh, he decided to put an end to their playful banter, giving her a look that clearly said, 'We’ll discuss this later,' before redirecting his focus to Darcy. A flicker of curiosity about the father of her children crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it as inappropriate; he didn’t know her well enough to pry into her personal life.

When the waiter arrived, Bryson greeted him with a warm smile and ordered his usual—just a simple cheeseburger, the one meal he could always count on finishing.

After downing the last of his water, he turned his gaze back to Kennedy, studying her as she chatted with Darcy. He quickly averted his eyes, leaning back against the booth and scanning the room, determined to avoid any unnecessary tension with Kennedy...
He wasn’t one to dwell on awkward moments, so he decided to bridge the gap between them with a light nudge... "How about we grab some dessert after this?" ..he suggested, his tone light and inviting. "My treat," he added, leaving the earlier awkwardness behind.

He hesitated for a moment, his head bobbing slightly as uncertainty flickered across his face. "Though.. you guys will have to tell me what's good and what's not around here.." he said, a playful chuckle escaping his lips..
The weight of his earlier apprehension seemed to lift, replaced by a more relaxed demeanor that brightened his expression... "I’d hate to end up with a dessert that looks amazing but tastes like..sh.. well tastes bad.." he continued, nervous laughter dancing in his voice as he shut off the profanity, realizing their audience.. Darcy's kids..clearing his throat, he continued, "I might need a tour altogether..you'd think with me travelling around the whole world, i'd know this town..." he added with another light-hearted chuckle.
"Plus..I don’t have any plans after this, and I’ve got Anthony’s number, so if my truck is done at any time, I can always hitch a ride back."

;; Soren
Soren's face flushed slightly upon the realization that he could not simply borrow this man's phone and be done with it. He was rather embarrassed to be caught out like this, forcing the officer to run around town for him. But then again, that was the man's job he supposed. He just hated to be a nuisance.

But, something in the man's empathetic smile put Soren at ease. Sure, he was still a little embarrassed, but the thought of this man helping him didn't make him want to run for the hills. Soren offered a weary smile upon the suggestion that the officer take him into town. "Only if you're sure, I'd hate to get in the way. I'm sure you have a lot to do."

The officer's conclusion that he was a tourist made Soren blush a little at first- he hated to think that he seemed so out of place. But, it made sense with the predicament he was in. And the way the man said he could get him to the lodge made him relax. At the moment, getting there and finding his room sounded lovely.

"Yeah, I am staying at the lodge. If you could get me over there, that would be lovely." He let out a soft laugh at the officer's joke. "That's very kind of you, officer Rosewood," he smiled as he opened his door and stepped out. "I'm Soren, Soren McKay."

Once he had stepped outside and closed the car door behind him, Soren extended his hand for a handshake. His introduction was on the more formal side, but it was not unfriendly. His handshake was smooth, elegant, something that had been perfected over the years.

"Would it be ok if I brought my bags with me? I don't have very much." There was a touch of hesitancy to his voice. He didn't want to seem demanding since this officer was being too kind, but it would be nice to have his things so he could settle properly in the lodge.

;; Brandon
Brandon immediately rolled his eyes at Elowen's invitation. He knew that a party thrown by this little heathen wouldn't be much fun for him. "I can get my own alcohol if I wish to, thank you Miss Winters," He shook his head, returning his gaze to the computer's reservation system. The fancy cognac was somewhat tempting, but the idea of a rowdy party was unpleasant enough for him to dismiss the idea entirely.

It was a rough task, but he kept his eyes focused on the computer and off of Elowen as she teased him. He tried to keep his expression neutral, but fount himself scowling in annoyance. He knew she was right, he was a bit of a square, but it was something he didn't appreciate being teased about.

Thankfully, the girl left to go prepare for her party, not letting their interaction be drawn out any longer. Brandon went about his day, finding it rather monotonous, yet calming. Nothing too unpleasant happened, everything was going smoothly. He was supposed to leave earlier on in the evening, but an employee called off, so he said he'd stay late and cover for them. This was the life of a workaholic.

All good things come to an end, and the lodge's streak of no complaints durning the day was broken by a call about a noisy party. Elowen's party. With a frown plastered on his face, he made his way up to her penthouse. The door was open, presumably to welcome any partygoers, and he found himself in his own personal nightmare of raging, drunk, young people.

Looking around the penthouse, he caught a glimpse of Elowen, in that damn outfit. "Elowen!" He called out. "Elowen!" That got her attention. Attention he quickly regretted once he found himself with her arms wrapped around him. "Off," he demanded as if scolding a dog, stepping back and pulling her off of him. "No, I don't want any cognac. I am working. Unlike some people, I have a job." He rolled his eyes. "The party is too loud. Shut it down."

Auriela

Constable's Wild Child

Aurie straightened her posture in Roman's bed, her hazel-green eyes sparkling with admiration as she looked up at them. The room was filled with a lighthearted energy, and she felt completely at ease in their company. After a few moments of soaking in the atmosphere, her gaze darted toward the closet, and she let out an exaggerated gasp of horror, a playful expression crossing her face. It was clear that the sight of the clothing had struck a chord with her sense of style.

Chuckling to herself, she slid off the bed with an air of determination, her excitement palpable. As she made her way to the closet, she began to ruffle through the hangers with eager fingers, searching for hidden gems among the chaos. After a moment of digging, her eyes lit up as she spotted a delightful dark burgundy like trench coat hanging in the corner. It was chic and eye-catching, the perfect foundation for an outfit that could turn heads.

With a triumphant grin, she pulled the coat out and held it up for them to see, feeling a surge of inspiration.
“This is absolutely perfect!”
she exclaimed, before turning her attention back to them, her smile warm and inviting.
“Okay, let’s start with this. I’d love to see what you would normally pair with it before I continue to pick out the rest.”

With that, she hopped back onto the bed, her enthusiasm infectious as she settled in, ready to dive into the creative process. The excitement in the room was palpable.

POV - Roman Marshall
Roman lightheartedly rolled their eyes at Auriela's gasp of horror at their closet, knowing that she was just being silly. They continued to rummage through their closet until they heard her sound of excitement. Roman turned to look down at her curiously before they saw Auriela pull out the burgundy trench coat. Their eyebrows went up a bit as they gazed upon it while she held the coat up. They almost forgot that they had that. It was actually a gift from a friend of theirs. It was one of the nicest things that they owned, but they had no idea when to actually wear it. It had to be a special occasion, of course. Suppose tonight would be it.

Roman blushed a little as they smiled sheepishly, taking the coat from Auriela to examine it further. "You think so? Okay." They watched as Auriela walked back over to the bed before looking at them expectantly. Roman actually had no idea what they should wear with this. They were no fashionista. But before that, they should try it on. They removed the coat hanger from the coat, placing it to the side before slipping it on. It was a perfect fit actually, and felt quite comfortable. Roman looked down at themself, turning a bit before looking back up at Auriela hesitantly. "How's it look? Good? Is it too much?"

;; Rachel
Rachel grinned, excited by the fact that they'd settled on going to the party. Partying was one of her favorite pastimes. And it wasn't because of any of the drinking or illicit substances that could be found there- it was because of the people. Not just her friends either. Rachel enjoyed meeting new people, bonding with her community. She couldn't think of a better way to spend the night.

"Yay! Party time is the best time!" Rachel squealed in delight. She made sure to shoot Ave a reassuring smile, a glimmer in her eyes. She knew this sort of thing wasn't exactly Ave's scene, but she knew that if they stuck together she could make sure her friend had a good time. If anything, they could find an out of the way corner to just chill and chat in.

"Okay, so we go and get ready and maybe meet here at around... 7? To pregame? I'd love to down some of that fireball," She gave Mikey a knowing look, full of mischief. In her opinion, one of the best parts of attending a party was pregaming with close friends, so she hoped they'd all agree to the plan.

;; Casper
Casper's eyebrows crinkled as the woman's voice came out warmer than expected. He'd expected her to be annoyed, angry even. But this, this was really weird. Maybe she was some sort of psychopath. Or maybe she was into him. He was just egotistical enough to view that as an explanation for her tone of voice.

"Cope? Cope with what? Do you have some fucked up dark past you're working through?" He interrogated her sincere, poised response. "What is it? Daddy issues? Mommy issues?" Casper kept rambling, bombarding her with her intrusive questions, until Elowen distracted him.

He grinned at her vulgar gesture. Rolling his eyes in a playful manner, he took a second to flip her the bird. He appreciated Elo's joke though, it made him remember why he was even visiting Revelstoke in the first place, visiting one of the few people in his life that really understood him should be fun, even if he started the trip rather bored.

Casper turned his attention back to the girl in front of him, trying to remember what he was saying before his mind wandered. "Where were we? Oh right, you have issues and you're using this shitty poetry to distract yourself. Well, I haven't read it yet, maybe it's not shitty, lemme see..." He held the notebook up and looked at it, reading a few lines aloud.

"From Texas skies to mountain peaks, A journey long, adventure speaks. Clouds like cotton, soft and bright, Leading me to a winter's night." Casper looked up at the girl and let out a chuckle. "Geez, this is cheesy. Shitty? I guess not. But really fucking cheesy. Like, I think I have a stomach ache now. Truly sappy stuff."
