When shit like THAT happens, though, it can kind of be hard to defend them. I think it should be about whether or not it's fun, but Mary Sues aren't fun.

I started with a RL friend but he introduced me to a site called Nation States, which is as the name implies focused mainly on nation role playing but it has a sub forum for other stuff that's pretty active. I lost interest in the nation side of stuff because I'd get too precious with my lore so I only hung out on the sub forum and sometimes there just isn't an rp there that you wanna join, it's also slightly less convenient in terms of layout and stuff than here.

My roleplay days started on a site called wwfleague.com or something similar (unfortunately no longer exists). We moved around sites after the original closed down (owner left and didn't pay hostgator).


Attempted to dabble in RP on Dueling Network Forums, but all the ones I attempted to join never got anywhere (I even had a pretty good Star Wars OC).


Because of aforementioned Star Wars character, and my love for Star Wars game, and me currently doing probably my 40th run on KotOR I, I wanted to do some Star Wars RP. So I Googled roleplay sites. And thus, here I am.

If I recall, I started role-playing on a chat site called xatspace?? Though it was for Warrior Cats and through there I became a member to ChickenSmoothie. I kept getting unwarranted penalties and I overall outgrew the community there. A year or two later, an old friend suggested Advanced Scribes, however, I never really made an effort to become part of the community there. It seems lovely, I suppose. I guess I preferred to role-play via Skype with my good friends.~

I originally started at a Yu-Gi-Oh fansite with a bunch of other people in a chat box, believe it or not. It took me a week of watching them to gather my courage to join. That was my longest running rp ever over several forums, including one of my own, before it died and the others left. I still remember several of the members involved and the things we did even after all these years. lolz...


I have gone to Gaia now for years. It's an okay site, though I do think this one is more... Open towards people and rp styles. I'm glad this place was recommended to me. I only stay because I'm doing a few roleplays with a friend of mine there.

Wasn't anything formal like this, it was just a chatbox called the AnimeLounge where people would half roleplay sliceoflife stuff and half post links to music/memes. Ahhh... I remember it fondly.
