As the guards tried to run after Ulfi, Sigmund raised a hand
"Let her run." He said, softly "Give her a head start, and then make sure she's followed from a distance. I want to see where she goes and if she reaches out to anyone."
The guards nodded "What about the shop?" One asked
"Loot it, sell it, burn it down for all I care." He threw his arms into the air as he walked away.
When Ulfi and Lydia got out of town, Ulfi started to talk to Lydia as they still run. "Lydia, make sure we're not chased."
Lydia nods and starts to get a bit behind to stop, distract or hold off any guards that were still following them. Ulfi starts to make it for a fast sprint to her home. With Lydia coming after her at a distance. Once reaching home, Ulfi stormed in and made her way to the armory. Picking the dragonbone armor from its mannequin and starts to put it on. She then walks to her bow and arrows and picks it up before walking to get Bloodskal Blade. Putting it along with her dragonbone greatsword. She then heads downstairs and gets out of the house, locking it behind her. As she walked out, Lydia arrived. "We need to get away from Falkreath. Perhaps Ralof's family can still help us if he is alive..." Ulfi whispered to Lydia before the two headed to Riverwood.

"Very well." Doom scoffed "But know this, Jedi. Doom will be watching you.
At least a dozen Doombots turned their heads towards Lamaosowl, glaring into his soul.
"And the moment you pose a threat to this nation, you will face the same fate as the Sith Invaders. Doom will show no mercy."
Victor paused for a moment and clenched his fists.
"I have other business to attend to, but don't think for a moment that Doom isn't watching."
Lamaosowl looked towards the doombots with a stance that told that he had no harmful intentions "My people are not like the Sith. We are not capable nor do we desire to be at war with you, Doom. We're not a threat to your nation, but we could be helping your nation in peaceful interactions. We wish to be at peace. When you have time, I wish to speak with you." He said in reaction to Doom.

One of the Jedi approached Lamaosowl.
"Don't mind him. Under that crusty exterior, he's a bit less of a nerf herder." He reassured with a grin
Lamaosowl nods towards the Jedi. "I'm surprised to see so many Jedi together, especially after all that happened. Though, I think there is a lot to talk about regarding the current situation of the Galaxy." The Ithorian said.

After a few moments of silence, Minity slowly rose from her chair.
"I am sorry for your losses." She said, solemnly "And I take your warning to heart.
"The other Companions are across Skyrim." Torvar explained "Trying to pick up the pieces after Vortex's attack. I could send a few letters out and if we wait a day you'll have every Shield-Brother and sister behind you, Harbinger."
"Just gather Alea and two of the others. Tell them to return to Whiterun to reinforce its defences."

Torvar gave Minity a puzzled look
"Sigmund cannot suspect us. If he knows we're fighting dirty, he will only up his game."
"Alea and Vilkas were near Riverwood, last I heard." Torvar nodded "Sending a courier shouldn't take too long. Hell, I'd go myself if I wasn't..."
"I could go as well." Kot said "Depending on where Riverwood is, I can reach it in minutes or hours. But he may spot me, however, he doesn't know we ever met."

Shogo Makishima
Gladius-2 Council Chambers

PROLOGUE: THE OPENING OF PANDORA'S BOX? START.
"...'O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother." Makishima read as he awaited outside the Council chambers, he had appropriately reached the novel's conclusion yet again, '1984'...

The meeting had to be initially delayed as he had heard of the Sith's attack on Latverivin, a fools folly Makishima already figured out, it was only a matter of time before the sith were crushed, Makishima had done research on this world and of the other world, learning many things. He knew Doom was an egomaniac, but he knew he had the power to justify it...

Back to the novel, as Makishima, read those words carefully again. It was there that Makishima had read countless numbers of times, that Big Brother had once again triumphed, stripping the free will of Winston and Julia, and putting an end to their meddling, their fight to liberate themselves from the oppressive regime. The regime that so easily, represented everything Makishima despised about the Sybil System. The fact that it was so eerily similar to his own deplorable societal system...

And that ending, how close that came to fruition in his own universe, it felt as if one of those divine strokes of god had occurred, beckoning him to take on his crusade once more, the gallant cause of saving the people of the Sybil System, to show them how wrong it was, and to get them to rise up as according to their own free will.

Makishima finally now closed the book once again, he could never take for granted the value of books, especially with such enlightening books having been put under strict censorship and taking many measures to keep them out of the hands of the populace, all to protect the system's integrity...

The way the system acted truly was predictable, even now, with him knowing the 'truth' of the Sybil System, it actually made his thoughts on the matter even more true... Makishima opened up the book again and flipped back, and there it was... The quote that described it properly...

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” This ringed very much true, in the novel. Oceania, was always in a perpetual cycle of always being at war with Eastasia or Eurasia, whatever the party stated was the truth was gobbled up by the people, and they believed that they were always at war with one while allied to the other, and the next day everything would flip and that'd be the truth of the matter.

In Japan, this revelation came when Makishima was brought seemingly back in time and to an alternate version of the country he knew. In this new universe that was a safe-haven for everything, but how long would that last...? Makishima knew something was suspicious especially when rumors flew around that something happened and things weren't normal... But of course the Sybil System, closed the country off again and stated,

'Do not unnecessarily blacken your hue and Psycho-Pass! Everything is perfectly fine, and everything is as it always has been! Remember your Psycho-Pass is infectious! Don't cause a Psycho-Hazard!'

Makishima had to resist the urge to scoff at the thought of that again. That was what truly ticked him off to temporarily leave the country to learn what was going on. Once he finally made it here after learning about everything, he knew what he had to do... He got in contact with his most trusted confidant let him know the situation, and told him not to tell anyone else right now. Makishima had a few loose links he needed to eliminate, his new clarity of everything made that entirely clear. At the time they were such promising candidates, but they had shown that they were a poor long term investment. But Makishima could never shake off that infatuation with Shinya Kogami... Just the name of him brought a smile to his face, as it always did his eyes twinkling. He had many more games to play with his toy, but in time.

He had to look to a new future, and there he was, sitting in the hall outside of the council chambers, awaiting for them to let him in. It was simple to get them to agree to this...

In his research, he learned of the council's ambitions with the reclusive closed off country, he knew they wanted them to open up and help them all out with their technological prowess. It appeared that they were willing to listen, simply stating he was a man who could finally unlock the keys to the country and assist for the long term benefit of the Multiverse.

And now it appeared Makishima's time for contemplation was at an end... As the guard by the door, told him simply.

"The council is now ready to see you." Before the guard opened up the door that laid at the threshold of him and the entire council.

Makishima then stood, nodding lightly as he approached the doors, taking a deep breath before he walked in, his book in hand.

Makishima almost immediately analyzed and observed his surroundings with those amber eyes of his, taking in the leaders and emissaries there, and the paintings and artwork of the grand hall, all showing grand last stands against the encroaching darkness, with shadow creatures... Each and every last one, while Makishima had to give them credit for the extravagance of it, however he could tell it was mostly so that every single one of them could stroke the remains of their ego after losing their universes to this darkness.

Makishima's charismatic aura once he stepped foot in that room, immediately made it's way to everyone there, he was completely confident, showing no signs of any nervousness or timidity, and he had a smile on his face... Calm, gentle... Seeming almost enlightened...

Once he was done observing, he finally spoke up.

"So, let me start off, by stating that I thank each and everyone of you for taking the opportunity to meet with me. I know you are all quite busy, maintaining the affairs of your respective nations, and kingdoms, and that you could've simply disregarded what I had to say as a man only seeking attention. I promise I will make this opportunity worth of each and everyone of your times. And I must say, I must commend you all for your truly magnificent council chambers..."

Before he spoke again however, he paused, and caught himself noting he hadn't introduced himself yet. "Ah, but where are my manners, you must be wondering who I am. My name, is Makishima Shogo, and I am the one who can finally crack open my country to the rest of Gladius II, and assist in whatever endeavors you may embark upon. For the multiverse is at stake here, and you need all the help you can get."

And with that... The game began, the fate of Sybil Japan now hung in the balance, and of its people. The masses who were basically sedated into sheep, would they finally learn to think for themselves, or would the beckon back to their master?

Sybil Japan
For all those that would be there, at first glance, the country looked like a technological utopia, metal skyscrapers and giant screens showing various images and whatnot. The place was quite bright and vibrant, with people milling about minding their own business carrying out their business all the while the Sybil System constantly monitored everyone's Psycho-Pass's and hues to make sure they were under conformity and wouldn't pose a risk. Everything here was normal daily life, with the people not knowing their world had changed, and that they were now on a new planet and that periodically people from other universes showing up, everyone seemed complacent, and almost everyone was happy. However life was not going to remain this way, the people were soon going to be shaken up a bit, and only time would tell who would come out on top in the end.

Magnus Burnsides: En-Route to Gladius-II
With Bjornson's healing magic applied, Reed weakly stood to his feet and staggered towards a console, resting one hand on it while another clutched something. It was shrapnel from one of the bullets.
Examining the piece in hand, Reed started to limp towards one of the ship's labs, two agents following alongside him.

Despite Magnus' size, he managed to crawl through the service vents. It was a tight squeeze, but with an extra bit of effort he was making good time. The only problem was that the tunnels split off into three different directions, going to different parts of the ship.
He shook his head and went right.

In a deeper part of the ship, a figure in a SHIELD agent's uniform climbed out of a vent and scanned the room, seeing a few escape pods. They started to march towards them.

The image of Findryt gritted her teeth and stared the Samurai down
"If you should be angry at anyone, be angry at him." She pointed at Ramil "He broke the circle."
"You killed hundreds of people!" A soldier yelled
"Acceptable losses." Findryt gave him a sarcastic shrug "The final five weren't really needed. The stone was near completion and I could have found another five somewhere else. I was going to give them back to you for fuck's sake! So getting angry at me for tricking you is really just you misdirecting your anger or being angry at yourselves for letting this happen."

She squeezed her nose ridge, shut her eyes and sighed deeply.
"You know what. I got what I came for. Two Philosopher's stones. Just what my people need to survive."
Mark staggered outside, panting heavily while part of his face was covered in blood. He took a few steps towards the image
"Oh hey." She smiled "Looks like I did a number on you with that stone."

Mark opened his mouth to speak but started to wheeze, clutching his chest and falling to his knees.
"I'd help your friend if I were you." Findryt shrugged "Or you can be fucking idiots again and let another one die. Up to you."

She looked at Kot "Like she said, we need to go."

Latverivin
The Twi'lek slowly approached Kira, examining the wound "It might only be a scratch, but we'd better put something on that just in case it gets infected. If you wait right here, I can fetch some gel from upstairs."
The two children waited behind the other Twi'lek mother, she had her arms folded and a stern look on her face. After a few seconds of staring, she let out a slight chuckle
"Figures. You had to break into this house."
"She didn't break in, she was taking cover!" The other Twi'lek called from upstairs "There's a difference, honey!"

The dog, a Pyrenean Mastiff started to curiously approach Kira, sniffing around her legs.

Two other Jedi walked with Lamaosowl while the occasional Doombot looked on. One was a human male in his mid twenties with some cybernatic attachments, while the other was a female Zabrak.
"Galaxy?" The man asked
"Pyxis, I don't think he knows." The female shook her head, a look of worry in her eyes "I think you might need to sit down."

Karla and Venkman: The Wasteland
The two XCOM squads kept up the pressure, dividing the smaller groups of Vortex troopers even further apart. The occasional tank or heavy drone would still be hacked by the specialists of the Indian squad, providing heavier covering fire.
At first, the Indian squad had been preparing to retreat but the other squad had given them a second wind, and with it the combined versions of XCOM were a force to be reckoned with.

The crippled factory, one a target for the attack had become a defensive structure as at least one soldier from each squad watched a corner or entryway.
Despite this, Vortex still outnumbered them and drone after drone poured in. The sniper tossed one final grenade and emptied the last of his clip in his revolver before picking up his sniper rifle and using it as a melee weapon on the drones who got too close.

The battle in the skies continued, with Vortex's Firehawk bombers being chased by Tiger squadron. Thankfully, for any XCOM air units Vortex had mostly focused on bombers when it came to an aerial force. They had been effective in his battle against The Guardian and he wasn't anticipating an attack from the air, at least not in the Wasteland.

His forces, while still putting up a fight were disorganised, only using their strength in numbers and firepower alone to hold off the waves of enemy forces. A shot flew over Dallas' head while he explained his strategy to Preston and Rex.
"Where did you find this one?" Rex asked with a chuckle
"We can't just leave those men to die!" Preston snapped, pointing at the factory
"Clankers did this back in the war." Rex explained, his tone turning grim "If we rush the factory, he's going to use that to tear us apart with bombers."
"So what do we do?"
"What he said. We've still got the larger numbers, so Vortex is going to focus on us. So long as we keep scattered and keep up the pressure, we'll buy them time and hopefully avoid those bombers."

Preston gave Dallas a firm nod and gave the order to pull back. The tanks and artillery opened up as some of the drones and other units followed, giving the army some breathing room.
-
Inside the command centre, Vortex's forces had abandoned their posts and were instead dashing for the doors to Vortex's position. Karla grinned at the opportunity and nodded at Gunther.
"Are you sure about this?"

Karla let out a yell as her skin started to cover with red, dragon-like scales and harden. Her eyes became blazed with fire and her teeth started to sharpen. Her body was covered by a small flame coating and yet all Karla could do was laugh heartily. She charged forwards, wielding MC in both hands
"Get back here!" She shouted at the drones "I promise I don't bite..."

-
Venkman appeared before Vortex yet again, his arms outstretched. The sounds of fighting only drew closer and closer by each passing second and Venkman knew that he was running out of time.
"Come on! I'm trying to save your life!"
"Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!" Vortex screamed, launching more blasts at the Mage from his cannon. Instead of re-directing the blast, Venkman teleported into the Twilight and appeared behind the machine.

Kiara-Latverivin

Kiara ducks her head, chuckling sheepishly. “Seriously, so sorry. I don’t mean to be a bother.” She says, looking up at the woman. She gasps softly, seeing the dog approach her, and her expression lights up like a Christmas tree. Kiara has kind of a thing for dogs, especially large, friendly ones.

She crouches down, and extends her uninjured right hand, a friendly grin on her face. “Oh, hey there!” She says brightly. She looks up at the woman. “Oh, right, silly me forgot introductions. I’m Kiara.” She says, seeming a lot more relaxed now. Dogs do that.

Cortova-The Wasteland

Cortova turns her head to see Karla, and dives for cover as she runs past. She stands back up to run after her, though the swarm steers clear, not wanting to burn. “Alright, whatever you’re doijg right now, loving it!” The Assassin yells, continuing to blast drones and sentries that Karla and the swarm don’t get to first.

The team went through the vents, following Magnus as he leads the girls to where the agents have went. After going right from the forked path, Cerebella, Nadia, and Carol could not help themselves but notice the blonde tip of Filia's hair begins to spread. Something is definitely happening to the schoolgirl and her friends can't lay a finger on it. "Hey Nadia..." Cerebella whispered to the catgirl "Should we tell Filia about that blonde stuff spreading?"

Nadia shrugged before whispering back to the young acrobat "I don't know, but how would she react if her hair, let alone that Parasite of her, is going blonde?"

Cerebella looks away from her catgirl friend to murmur "Well, you got a point. But yet her hair is..."

Carol on the other hand had kept quiet, but unknown to her friends, she knows what is going on with Filia. "She's changing..." She thought "Just like what the research papers have said while I was being modified; if the bond between the host and a Parasite is so strong, a powerful change occurs. Filia, your bond with Samson is the main reason why your hair is slowly going blonde, you are evolving."

Gladius-II Council Chambers
A few Council members started to whisper among themselves while Makishima spoke, allowing him to to monologue and after he was finished, the room fell into silence.
If Makishima had been studying the room, he would notice that two seats around the marble table were empty. The stain glass windows behind them depicted a giant and blue penguin-like creature hitting the darkness aside with a warhammer while another showed a large castle under siege from the incoming swarm. Some of the member's eyes had been fixed on the empty chairs while Leia could only shake her head.
"I don't think they'll be joining us." T'challa said "I suggest we press on without them."
"When have they ever?" A woman asked. She was a middle-aged, of Asian descent with dark hair and a scar running across her face. Behind her was a stain glass image of two different cities.

One was high-tech, bright and being defended by machines, while another was a Gothic city full of steam. One might mistake it for Victorian London, but there were a few glaring differences in the image. The Shard, a building that was from the early 21st century was in the background of the city stood tall, despite the fact that many of it's windows had been shattered. The citizens on the streets below, although dressed like they were from the Victorian age carried devices similar to mobile phones and on close inspection one could see a fleet of armoured Zeppelins defending the city from the air.

"They pay their dues and provide their share of defences for this planet." Doom said, his eyes meeting Makishima's
"I have a question." Varys spoke up "We have tried time and time again to talk with Sybil Japan's leaders, only to be turned down. So why now?"
"I think he said the Multiverse is at stake." A whispery voice spoke
"I know, and I heard him." Varys smiled "We all know what's at stake."

The sound of a glass hitting against a table was heard and a dwarf with fair hair started to speak.
"So, the rulers of your country are too stubborn for their own good. Is that why you're here?" Tyrion asked

Douglas Ken: Sybil Japan
A well-dressed man walked down a nearly empty city street, his head down and his hands at his sides. It was the early hours of the morning and the city would be awake soon, something the man was waiting on.
As much as he had liked the look of the country, he could tell that it was rotten. The people he'd met had seemed happy, but he knew there was something underneath it. The actual idea of a Multiverse might have been alien to them, let alone the truth of it's death, the jaws of the consuming darkness or even the planet they were currently on.
He hadn't asked directly, but there had been no mentions of any of it in conversations he'd listened in on. He did that every time he and his family were inspecting an area for settlement and in every other town people had mentioned everything in at least some capacity. Some were frightened of the darkness, worried that they were living on borrowed time while others had seen it as a sign from God, even praising and welcoming it's arrival.

Fucking idiots. Douglas thought to himself. He'd seen the darkness for himself, and he knew there was nothing Godly about it.
The people in this country, they didn't know.

There was a part of him that wanted to help, but he managed to keep it on a leash. Douglas had seen one two many movies or read one too many books to know what kind of a country he and his brother had found themselves in. We, 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and A Clockwork Orange, the latter one being his favourite. It's idea of rebellious youth had been what had initially drawn him in.

If he spoke out, if he did anything to make himself too noticeable there would be dire consequences for him and Errol.
Escape would be difficult, but not impossible.

That was when Robbie remembered there never had been a front door, right as part of the wall gave way. He could only stare in horror, knowing that his wall being smashed open by a giant robot man wasn't covered on his lair insurance.

Senshi, Take, and Shimazu: Rush Valley

Senshi ran after Mark and grabbed him, "Take get over here!" Take nodded before grabbing Mark by the legs and then the two held him up with his face facing towards the ground. Senshi knew Mark had broken ribs, he saw this back during the Sengoku Jidai during raids on fortresses, and they most likely fractured into Mark's lungs. There was little time to waste, the two did their best to keep Mark level as they hurried him off to the Hospital. Making sure to be careful and Senshi checking to see if Mark was still breathing. Senshi and Take would not be long to the hospital, finally approaching it within a matter of a few minutes though they were long minutes.

Meanwhile Shimazu stared down the Findyrt image, he had to show her he wasn't going to let this bother him, and he also needed a stress ball. Shimazu turned to the one who flawed the process to save the young child, his weeping felt more that of a lost lust rather than that of a family bond. Shimazu looked to him and saw him as a self loving, inconsiderate, murderer, he could not allow him on their travels anymore. WIthout hesitation Shimazu walked to Ramil sheathing his No-Dachi and pulling out his shorter Katana, grabbing Ramil by the throat and picking the pathetic excuse of an organism up. Shimazu had looked at Ramil not in the eyes, he would not give him that honor, "You have failed, your stupidity and your self concern has cost you the life of that you held dear and I am sickened to say that it may have been a more intimate love than one of family," Shimazu said as he tightened his grip around Ramil's throat, showing Ramil visibly growing blue and deprived of oxygen. Shimazu had stabbed Ramil in the lower stomach getting ready to drag the blade across Ramil's waist. His arm was grabbed by a soldier who attempted to drag Shimazu's arm away but in vain, however Shimazu did stop 1/5th of the way. Shimazu shook his head and looked to the young soldier, "Your right soldier, he don't deserve such a death," Shimazu said looking back at Ramil,"Even this is too good for you, you must soak in your actions and know of your faults, then you may die." Shimazu said coldly and without remorse. Shimazu threw Ramil to the ground finally allowing him to breath so greedily to survive, it disgusted Shimazu.

Dallas Grove: The wasteland

Dallas watched as Vortex's forces crashed upon their defenses like waves, but not a single one broke through, the casualties has been reduced drastically, and this was before they even dug any fox holes. Dallas ran around collecting a handful of volunteers to help dig the link of foxholes to get the soldiers out of view of any of Vortex's tanks, it was quick work but effective at best.

The holes were being dug rapidly, no pattern, some bigger than others but it was the best they had for now. Finally there was a good link of foxholes and Dallas had did his best to organize an order for Skirmish retreat, where the soldiers had gotten in a pair of spaced out lines with their rifles and laser muskets and began covering each other in that set of two lines, as one line used up it's ammo and retreated to reload another spent the ammunition it had. Dallas had lent his support to the platoon coming into the foxholes last, tossing smoke and ordering a full retreat into them. Now everyone'es profile had been reduced, they were out of the shrapnel cone, and could not have a much higher Kill to Death ratio.

As a bot had tried to get up close, Dallas had shot it with a slug from his foxhole, the battle was surely turning in their favor. Just then Dallas was getting excited for this, his plan was working, not a common occurrence for him since he took orders from a guy 15 miles off the front. To keep the spirit up Dallas had exposed himself a bit and began running back and forth trying to rouse some singing, surprisingly some of the soldiers knew the song he was signing, "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag!" Dallas then started walking back to his foxhole as bullets whizzed pass him, he was getting really lucky. Dallas at one point stopped before laughing his muffled laugh and giving the british reminition of "Up yours!" by pointing his two fingers up towards the sky with his palm inwards. Finally a bullet had grazed his leg he, he gritted his teeth and said quietly, "Alright yeah I know, im pushing my luck!" looking upwards. Dallas hurried back to his foxhole before any more lucky strikes did something worse to him.

Ada-Sad Depressed Drunk Fuck, And The Awesome Magnificent Merc with the Mouth! (Time to fuck some guys up!)
The Warehouse with all the goodies in it!
Deadpool took a quick look at the thugs and their armor, seeing that they all had Lexcorp armor on, which means they stole from Lex, he could catch them off guard, which means there would be someone who knew where the files were. "Oh well you know, just a casual passerby minding my own business, when a wee little someone with a shit ton of cash, came on by told me to do some shit, and then I noticed you feller's. Oh yeah, but there's something you can help me with." With that, Deadpool quickly drew his Desert Eagle quicker than any of them could react and put one bullet in each of the thug in-front of him's knee caps. Before bringing his pistols on the other's to keep them from trying to fire back.

"Don't even think about it, slow pokes. You'll have a bullet in your skulls faster than the babysitter’s boyfriend when the car pulls up. So now, let's make this nice, and easy for all of us, you guys have a file that belongs to Lex here... Where is it?"

...

As Adam followed Jolie, he simply replied. "Yeah you're fine, and I don't really care if I get front, I just want to get the absolute hell out of this damned city." Considering his peak human hearing, shortly afterwards he would hear Deadpool speak up, (also just considering he is very loud) and the two gunshots that went off. As well as whoever the hell the Irishman was, Adam just shook his head, and said. "Ok yeah let's seriously hit the road... Sounds like he must've been a merc for that Lex guy, guess he saw that they had his armor and knew they were the guys he was after... By the sounds of it, it sounded like earlier Brother Power wants to save this city, beat the 'man' or whatever you convinced him into thinking, so I think he's gonna be staying here..."

Markiplier: Rush Valley
Mark was carried into the hospital wing where a few nurses immediately got to work. They pulled back one of his trouser-legs, revealing a pulsating sting on his ankle. One of the nurses look at the other and then back at the Samurai with a grim expression.
"It's Eastern scorpion venom." She explained
As the trouser leg was pulled back further, the infection had spread up Mark's body with veiny tendrils. And it still appeared to be growing. The door was shut and another nurse escorted the others out into the hallway.

"This wound is old, he took anti-venom at some point but the thing with this type of venom is that it can resurface if not handled properly. Makes the giant Eastern scorpion an even nastier son of a bitch. The biggest trigger is high levels of physical stress, so if you're running away from one of those things..."
She sighed "At this rate, your friend's going to need a medical Alchemist. There's just not a lot we can do for him in this state except for buy time. At most, an hour or two."

Downstairs, the children and teachers from the school had also arrived at the hospital, Tim, Martin Stein and Chica with them while a few soldiers kept a close eye on a handcuffed (and gagged) Ronnie. However, a battered Ramil had followed them. With some tears in his eyes, he climbed the stairs and made his way towards Mark's room.
"So he's dying?" Ramil asked
"No." The nurse sternly shook her head "No, I never said that. Your friend is..."
"He's not my friend." Ramil spat "He let the love of my life die. You all did."

Turning away from Ramil, the nurse focused her attention back on the Samurai
"He's unconscious for now." She whispered
"We use him to bring Fate back." Ramil said "He's dying anyway, so I say we use his soul to bring fate back."

The nurse slowly turned towards him.
"The first law of Alchemy is Equivalent Exchange, right? So what about a life for a life? We sacrifice a dying man to bring back a little girl. My little girl."
"Was she your daughter?" The nurse asked in a sympathetic tone
"No, she was more than that." Ramil said "So much more."

The demigoddess smiles, trying to adjust to this. She’s not used to people taking care of her, really. Certainly not keeping her here to make sure such a tiny scratch healed. Hell, she’s been sent into battle a day after getting ribs broken. Granted, healing magic, but still an asshole move.

“Thanks so much. You’re very kind.” She says softly. I can’t stay. Stop thinking about it you selfish prick. I won’t put them in danger. But I haven’t been attacked since I got here. Not a single monster caught my scent… maybe I’m safe? Maybe I have some luck for once in my life, and fate’s given me a moment to rest?

She shakes her head to clear it, extending her hand to let the woman put the gel on it. She kind of forgets that not everyone has scars covering their left hand like she does. That’s the thing with blood activated magic.

Drake caught up with the others.

"Damn... Shit's really going down..."

What he witnessing was a battle between their own forces and some unknown attacker. Judging from the architecture of the fighters, it looked like it came from or around India and it looked like they were on their side as they were attacking the enemy vortex fighters.

Nate took a breath of relief, "Looks like we're giving them a run for their mone-- Ah, crap...!"

Just then, the fortune hunter dodged an onslaught from a Vortex enemy drone, but just barely. One shot managed to graze his shoulder. Drake then slid behind cover, reloading his gun in the process but he knew his tiny pistol was no match for what he was about to face. Now was a good time to panic until he saw Dallas talking to two other people. It was a risky gambit, but Drake managed to work his way around the drone and even managed to get a headshot before running out of bullets.

Drake approached the group, huffing heavily, "Dallas... Just what the hell is going on and please tell me you have a plan!"

He was aware of the other two, but he paid no attention to them because staying alive was the first priority.

Captain Fatbelly
Fortress of Fatitude/Dome
It had been like any other day in Staten Island, Joe in his Captain Fatbelly persona had been out and about stopping crime, waiting around in the Fortress of Fatitude, then the whole world changed, and he was now in some new world, that was a couple days ago. And there he was again, now awaiting for something to happen. And that's when he got a gut feeling, and no, not the hungry type... That something nefarious was going to be afoot. And so he decided to call his friends see if they'd be willing to patrol out with him or something, considering TruTV was either gone or somewhere else, it had been somewhat dreadfully boring as they'd have no way of realistically shooting Impractical Jokers, luckily they finished their shooting of Season 7 so they were in the clear in that department, but what if they were stuck and gone long enough that the time for Season 8 would come and they'd have no footage for it? The execs at TruTV wouldn't be very happy about that.

Making an over the top comical shrug, Joe got dressed up, and called, first calling 'Q' as they liked to call him. Real name, Brian Quinn, but secretly known to the world as 'Tony Gunk' a good mix of any role imaginable, Security Guard, Beat Reporter etc. He was volatile however, and last time he was called in he burned down half the city.

Ringing for a couple seconds, Q finally picked up. "Yeah...? Hello?"

"Yo, Q it's Joe, I have a gut feelin' something's gonna go down today, you in to bring out Tony Gunk?"

"Uhh, I'm sorry, I am a bit busy right now, you're gonna have to call me later..."

"Wait, Q, you don't have-" The phone was then hung up.

Joe then muttering comically to himself, then went for his next friend, Sal, Sal Vulcano, secretly known to the world as 'The Louisiana Bog Monster' after the punishment during their New Orleans episode, he got infected with something that caused him to turn into the The Louisiana Bog Monster, which allowed him to stretch out limbs of plants, and other disgusting stuff, the stuff Sal absolutely hated, and as such... He was always the most unenthusiastic about it of the gaggle of friends, and always grossed out by it.

Sal similarly picked up.

"Sal Vulcano speaking."

"Hey, hey Sal, its me Joe, I think some evil plot is going to go down and I am trying to get the gang to come together, so can you come as the Bo-" Sal then cut him off, like the punishment where he had to cut people off at an all you can drink alcohol festival in the City.

"No, just no, you know I absolutely hate to turn into the god damn Bog Monster of god know's where, I'm not tagging along with you on your silly adventures."

It was then hung up again.

Then there was the last person on the list, 'Murr' or the Human Pleat.

Groaning as he usually did at the thought of bringing Murr, notably former roommate. He called.

"Murr, wanna go out and patrol I think someone is scheming something evil."

"Sure, yeah I'll drop on by Joe."

"Well, that was easy... Alright then see you later Human Pleat."

Waltzing out of the Fortress of Fatitude dressed up in his Captain Fatbelly costume, Joe went out, and said. "Well it ain't no Staten Island, but it's still gonna be a long travel..."

Jolie and Captain Cold: Metro-Gotham Limits
Jolie kept her head down as the Catholic Priest showed up and was already pulling away when the shooting started, with Adam riding shotgun. She wanted to stay and figure out what was going on, perhaps even help people but she knew that staying in Metro-Gotham was a horrible idea. She would either frenzy or get killed by what she presumed was a hunter or thugs. She was silent as the car pulled away from the warehouses and made it's way towards the city limits, but gave Adam a fake smile as the Impala approached a highway.

There were other cars on the highway, some abandoned and falling apart while other had been torn apart by scavengers, leaving metal husks on the highway. A military checkpoint was in the distance, awaiting the two.
"I'm going to need you to climb into the boot." Jolie whispered, slowing the car to a stop "I only managed to get papers for myself."
She shook her head, a half-smile on her face "I was going to put BP in the backseat and have him pretend to be a regular mannequin. But he made his choice, and I wasn't going to force him."
-
Deeper in the city, the thugs opened fire on Wade and Anderson the moment the first gunshot went off.
"Drop these fools!" One shouted, falling back into the warehouse "Try to keep 'em off me!"
He ran into one of the backrooms while the other thugs held their ground. Two even lunged forwards with rocketpacks, armed with energy blades.
-
With Crane's assault being over, the city had fallen silent for a few moments. It was interrupted by the sounds of gunfire, which caught Leonard's attention.
"Some of yours?" He asked Gordon
"Maybe."

The two men headed in the direction of warehouse, with their weapons drawn and Leonard leading the Commissioner.

Deathstroke, and the others seemed to be very reserved, they had remained in that factory, Deathstroke was waiting, and once he knew the forces were going to pull back, he knew now would be the time, it would be almost like a feign. Kamui was annoyed by having to have been held back for so long, but now he was finally going to get what he desired.

At the most opportune time, contrary to what most of the men were doing, Deathstroke would be identifiable due to being much slower than the Yato, however the his actual reflexes were faster than any of them could see while the Yato were becoming simply blurs, Deathstroke, Kamui and Abuto, charged, and Deathstroke armed with his Broadsword, suddenly many drones encroaching, would either be slashed in half or in many pieces or be smashed by the umbrellas or penetrated by the Yato's powerful arms, taking each and every drone or tank by surprise, as they couldn't identify why or who was cutting them down en mass except for Deathstroke, now causing a sizable distance between Vortex's units and the coalition, causing an ample distraction, Deathstroke didn't worry about any bombs due to the Ikon suit and the Yato's umbrellas would be strong enough to tank any bombs they could drop on them.

As Deathstroke did so he continued to analyze his environment for any opportune things to exploit, or anything of that nature as he began to plan and tactically and strategically plot their next move.

The eco warrior took a walk through the city of Metro-Gotham trying to get ahold of his bearings, his various guns and tools on his back.

Oddly, for some reason, the city was giving him vibes of Haven City, maybe worse.

Hey Jak, buddy.. why is this place giving me all sorts of bad voodoo vibes?

Jak eyed him and frowned "I don't know Dax, everything's too dark for my tastes."

Daxter agreed and groaned "Why did we sign up for this again, Jak?"

Jak frowned "Our world... it..'s hard to explain."

Daxter's ears flopped in sadness "Oh.. I.."

Jak frowned "But things won't be in vain, I think... Let's keep moving, Dax. Now which way?

Daxter pointed down a pathway leading to a creepy warehouse and shuddered "On second thought, this place makes Haven City look like paradise. Give me Torn, I'll take him anyday, now."

Jak gave a bit of a grin "Come on Dax, this place can't be all bad, right? Jak and Dax proceed down the path toward the warehouse.

Remaining quiet throughout the whole trip and not wishing to speak or get involved in anything else Adam did not say absolutely everything, he had dealt with a lot and was mentally exhausted. Glancing over at Jolie on the highway he could easily tell she was giving a fake smile, once they finally stopped the car before the checkpoint, Adam glanced over again listened carefully, and simply nodded.

He then softly gave a sarcastic remark. "So that if they check the trunk and find me they'll see you beat up what looks like a drunkard, and threw in the trunk to drag out of the city to god know's where... Well then, this is gonna be fun... I'll give two taps on the trunk when I'm prepared." Giving at least the smallest hint of a smile, something he very rarely did nowadays.

Before finally getting out, opening up the trunk, and fitting himself in it, planning and plotting his body in the perfect manner to make it at least somewhat more comfortable and so that if push came to shove he could burst out of the trunk and help escape. Closing the trunk, he was careful as he gave the signal he was ready, as his strength could have easily damaged it.

Karla and Venkman: The Wasteland
Karla charged down another hallway, wielding MC over her head and smashing a drone into the ground.
"You know, if you wanted to fuck up sacred ground all you needed was a pen! Go around drawing smiley faces and writing curse-words on the tombstones!" She shouted, a sinister grin on her face "But nooooo!"
"Stupid bitch!" One of the drones cursed, speaking in Vortex's post "Finish her! What the fuck did I make you guys for!?"

Half a dozen Protectrons turned to Karla's position and opened fire
"Hey, I may be a total bitch. But I am the furthest thing from an idiot." Karla giggled, smashing a Protectron aside. As the corridor thinned down, Karla holstered MC and drew her Scimitars, slicing through oncoming drones with murder in her eyes and a grin on her face.
"Stupid robots! Why didn't you just use a big pen!? You have the tech to make an army, so why not a giant pen for your vandalism!? Why'd you have to blow the place up!?"
"She's one fucking woman, just kill her!" Vortex cursed "Shut her up!"

Karla sliced through the drone Vortex was speaking through
"No! You shut up!" She giggled "I'm a one-woman force of nature! And you made the mistake of fucking with me!"
"Aww." Vortex mocked "Did you have family I killed? People buried in that cemetery I destroyed? Poor Tiefling, did some nasty Elves enslave you? That's right, I've read up on my D&D lore. I know what you are and I know how the world treats you. How the world should treat you."

Karla paused, her blades inside of the Vortex drone who had been mocking her
"Now that...That was your second and third mistake, motherfucker. Ghost genocide, killing thousands of innocent people for no reason...That's all one thing, but you done crossed the red line with me."

She withdrew her blades and charged, a grin no longer on her face. She looked up at a four remaining Protectrons, the body parts of smashed drones and Protectrons at her feet.
"I'm giving you one chance. Run."

The Protectrons looked at each other and then back at Karla, running out of the building. With a grin back on the Tiefling's face, she skipped down the final corridor.
"Ohhh Vortex." She sang "I'm comminngg to nukeeee you."

Cortova was backed up by a few Mages, pushing forwards with the door to Vortex's main room now right in front of them.

Outside of the command centre, the battle against continued to rage on. His ground forces had only been further divided, with more trying to pull back and focus on protecting his primary body. The majority of the ground forces managed to pick them off with a combination of rifle, and artillery from both cannons and the raider tanks.

Rex dived into a foxhole right as a few shots flew over his head, taking cover next to Preston and Noose.
"Was this the plan?" Noose asked
"We're improvising!" Rex chuckled, tossing a thermal detonator. It landed in a group of drones and exploded, sending metal arms and legs into the air. He pointed over at Dallas "Foxholes were his idea."

A shot from Preston's laser musket took out another drone and he ducked for cover
"Hey Vortex!" He shouted, throwing a grenade over his shoulder "You should have killed me when we first met. Would have saved you a lot of trouble."

Seeing three of the mercs charge the command centre, a few of the drones sighed in unison
"Deathstroke?! Oh for fuck sake..." They complained before being torn apart.
The three would hear the roar of a plane engine over their heads as Tiger squadron flew into view, blasting a hole in the side of the command centre.
"This is Tiger-3. Good luck, boys."
-
Feeling the command centre shake, Venkman appeared before Vortex again, greeting the machine a heavy shrug
"We're out of time. Please."

Vortex prepared to fire a shot from his cannon at Venkman, only to slowly lower it.
"What will happen to me?"
"Prison, most likely. Put to work improving the Southern continent with defences and machinery."
"That's slavery!" Vortex cried
"So genocide and mass-murder is a-okay, but you draw the line at slavery?" Venkman asked
"It's different when It's happening to you!"
"Exactly my point." Venkman raised a finger "Look, it's the best I can offer outside of the people out there killing you. Don't get me wrong, I could open up a Twilight Gate and jump the two of us out of here. Take you somewhere safe, far away from civilisation and just kinda dump you off."
"So why do..."
"You didn't let me finish. It's simple. I don't want to. You can't be trusted, Vortex. If I drop you off somewhere, you'll just start this shit all over again." He explained, grimly "Plus, Ghandi will probably want my head...And for the sake of not wanting a war with India, my people will give me to him." He chuckled "I like living, and I'd rather not get executed by the twisted version of a civil rights leader."

"So this is all to save your skin?" Vortex scoffed
"No. To save yours. And use your powers for good. You can produce an army overnight and build a capable mining facility within hours! How many other beings can do that without magic. Fuck all! At least on this planet. Imagine if you took that and used it to improve infrastructure. Standards of living. We Mages are limited in helping people, held back by paradoxes. You are not. It is that simple."
"So I'm a tool for your country?"
"You're an AI! So long as maintenance is kept up, you're immortal. All I'm asking is for a few years of time to help the people of my country...And maybe, just maybe, even help you in the process."

Vortex paused "Why?"
"I think people can change. My best friend went from a revenge-driven killer to somebody who views all life as precious and puts her life on the line every single day to help people." He said "I went from a slave to...Well, the man you see before me." He lightly chuckled "So a crazed Skynet type who kills everyone out of fear...It's not too far fetched."
"Really?"
"I'm a Mage. I see and do nigh-impossible shit every day before breakfast."

Venkman extended a hand towards Vortex. The machine knelt down and proceeded to open up, releasing steam into the air. Underneath his cracked parts was a body, attached to wires that dug deeply into his flesh. Machinery covered the left side of his face, which was pale and cracked. His right eye was bloodshot and tired. Any hair on his head had been covered by more wires and machinery, plugged in to multiple parts of his skull.

Vortex took a deep breath
"Jesus Christ." Venkman muttered "Who..."
"I'm a Commander." He spoke. His voice was no longer computerised, instead replaced with the tired voice of a teenager "I was made and programmed to defend the galaxy."

Venkman kept his hand outstretched, some tears building in his eyes but managing to stay strong.
"And you are a threat." He spat

Vortex quickly closed back up and opened fire from one of his cannons.

Jolie Metro-Gotham Limits
Jolie gave Adam the same, faked smile as he stepped out of the car "You're not the worst thing they'll find in there."
The boot was a bit cramped to say the least, due to some of Jolie's weapons and gear being stored in there. To avoid Adam getting poked by a crossbow bolt or even a wooden stake, Jolie drove slowly and carefully towards the checkpoint.

The military men wore armour similar to that of the thugs, with the Lexcorp symbols and colours being replaced by military ones. Jolie slowed the car to a stop, just a few meters away from a wall of sandbags with a machine gun on top and a security booth. One of the soldiers stepped in front of the car, raising a hand before walking to the driver-side window.

Jolie already had the window rolled down.
"Papers, please."
Reaching into the glovebox, Jolie produced a blue passport that the soldier started to check over.
"Why were you in Metro-Gotham?"

Jolie gave him a shrug an sighed "Honestly I was looking for a place to settle down, but...There was just a bit too much crime."

Despite using Adam's blood to close her wounds, Jolie hadn't healed herself fully. She still had some bruises on her face and body.

The soldier raised an eyebrow "You try the inner-city?"
"I didn't make it that far. I'm sorry."
He looked over the papers one final time and handed them back over. The following questions were standard, like if she was carrying animals or vegetables out of Gotham and Jolie answered all of them with a bored expression.
"Where are you going from here?"
"Heading South. I have a Cousin who's been made a Vampire."
"That's quite a journey."
"I'll be frank. The world's gone to shit and I'm trying to find people I can trust. My Cousin might be the only family I have left so..."

Although Jolie was over one hundred years old and had been fighting for most of that lifetime, she still looked and sounded like a thin and young French woman to many people at a first glance. Some had even tried to take advantage of her, only to end up with a broken wrist or two. There were others, of course who she'd played the part with, using them as drinking fountains for the blood she needed...Or wanted.

Adam, Inigo and Venkman had been different, one having first seen her in combat and the other two had known of her skillset in advance.

"Shit..." The soldier muttered, shaking his head "Wait here."
He walked back to the security checkpoint and after a minute he walked back out, carrying a box. Jolie recognised it as MRE rations, and although the soldier was wearing a helmet Jolie could tell he was smiling.

"You're very kind, but I can't..."
"Just take it. We're supplied by Lexcorp so baldie can always give us more. We'll um...We'll just tell our superiors that bandits took it."
Jolie gave him a warm smile, taking the boxes and setting them in the backseat "Thank you."
"Don't worry about it. Just make sure you get yourself South, okay?"

Jolie chuckled "I'll try."

The soldier gestured for her to move along and Jolie gently drove the Impala through the checkpoint, continuing for three miles down the road. When the checkpoint was out of sight, she pulled over and opened the trunk, offering Adam an MRE.
"I can't eat this anyway so..." She shrugged
