Futuristic What Makes Us Human- accepting a few more but not many so hop on in and send an application ~(6/8 taken)

I was going to suggest instead of people being "randomly selected" they were in fact carefully selected for certain skills or intelligence and what-have-you. I don't think it would make much sense to put so much effort into saving humanity to just put random people on there, lol. We are talking about humans after all. Perhaps the people in the pods are genetically modified specifically for this purpose?

Almost like the Fallout vaults.

What I think could work too is. Perhaps humanity's value of what means intelligence or like survival skills may not all apply to this new planet. Also no idea what Fallout vaults are. Fill me in it sounds cool

OH MY GOSH, so I'm imagining that my character had an artificial arm due to an accident, when he wakes up he finds that his old prosthetic has been replaced with a more advanced one that has a bunch of medical utility, basically a medical swiss army knife. What other "enhancements" might they give the colonists?

Flecker Flecker I suppose it depends on who chose the colonists. I feel like there is going to be natural conflict as leaders emerge within the group.

Some thoughts on the equipment on the ship:

- Guns (but perhaps these require multiple people to scan their ID chips at once to release.
- Soil reclamatiors to process the terrestrial dirt into the proper chemical makeup to sustain earth plants.
- Seeds
- Survival rations/protein supplements
- A basic cargo of medicine: Painkillers, Antiboitics, Prenatal medications/vitamins, Some kind of stem-cell based adaptive vaccine formula
- Materials to construct pop-up shelters of some kind
- Communication devices or tablet computers that can be slaved to the ID chips

Right. I was wondering if there are other similar ships that might be hostile due to conflicts back on earth? Like maybe warring nations etc.

Flecker Flecker It probably depends on if the program that launched the ship was only one of several such colony programs, or if this ship was truly the last ditch effort before the total death of the planet.

Hmm, again this really depends on the approach. The effort was launched way before its time, which would indicate that a massive global scale catastrophy has occurred. But the nations are still separated, which means conflict between nations due to resource scarcity etc. would likely be the case, very likely the ships are launched by mutliple countries trying to save themselves then? I don't know how likely it is for countries to set aside differences on a commom goal while they're still trying to fend for their nations' needs, hmm. Unless of course it's launched by a secret global collective separated from nations, like one filled with billionaires to save humanity, then I think the one ship launched would be likely.

Wondering if ther will be more to this, I'm really excited writing some lores down for their background and how they will work!

I sincerely like everything I'm seeing. Mainly I like how people are bouncing idea's off each other.

As for a character sheet. I'm just getting used to the formatting but will have something up soon.

I have a rough character skeleton up. in the main post Please to post your idea's here. I like how we are bouncing idea's. It's a rough character sketch to start.

Should we post character breakdowns here, or in another thread?
The first small post blurb I have, you can post here, I haven't really established a actual starting base. Once I have that in order then I'll shift things to an out of character chat . The bouncing idea's really seems to boost the interest check. =)

Atlus does not remember much of his time before waking up in the pod. Initially there are only flashes and images that come to him in spurts. He retains his well ingrained instincts as a trained medical doctor, used to working under significant pressure, both from his time as a surgeon and his time working in the refugee camps. But the details of his life and identity are fleeting.

All he has to work from is a note he wrote for himself: “The past is the past. This is a second chance.”
