Other What if oxygen is actually poisonous, but it just takes 75-100 years to kill us?

I agree, oxygen has gas particles in the air, whether we get out or not, it doesn't change anything,
an environmental action won't fix anything either, unless if you get rid of factories that make a lot of smoke, way more than a car.
(it is ironic to do an environmental action against cars, but nothing about factories).

I've heard this before and it's an interesting theory, but I don't believe I agree with it being poisonous. It doesn't display the same average properties of something that would be poisonous. And I think it's been mentioned already, but the differences in life expectancy does keep it consistent.

Oxygen is oxidizing, that why we breathe it. It gives us energy by reacting with food.

Now to the right part: oxygen once in history WAS poisonous. It happened when photosynthetic bacteria began doing it, and other cells died. Survived only that who had mitochondria. And so it continues, to now.

IIRC at high altitude the air is thinner and there is less oxygen to breath...so then people who live at higher elevations would live longer on average than those at lower elevations because they aren't breathing as much oxygen.

I dunno, science never was my strong suit

SCIENTISTS HATE HIM
Learn how this man figured out that oxygen is poisonous!

Oxygen is necessary for metabolic processes, and it is those same metabolic processes which are both responsible for us being alive, and eventually wearing out and dying. Kind of like a car engine. We are subject to entropy.
